I have another Christmas card to share with you today. This one , unintentionally, seems very retro looking. Or just plain Old Fashioned ,if you prefer!
Good Tidings, 144870
Even with the old fashioned look, I really love how this card turned out. Sometimes the unexpected is the best. I went with traditional colors and then just stamped directly on the designer series paper. Sometimes we forget to do that and it usually has a great outcome when we do. After all, it is card stock as well.
All of the stamps are from the Good Tidings stamp set except for the holly at the top of the sentiment. The one stamped on the DSP was too large for that small leftover space. So I searched stamp sets and found this much smaller holly in the Every Good Wish set. And of course I had to add some bling!! So instead of red berries, you have rhinestone berries.
Thank you for visiting today! I hope you like this retro look. I think this would be a great one to make at a stamp a stack or even as your main Christmas card for sending.

Happy November everyone! Time has flown by this year, especially the Fall. We are close approaching the Holiday Season. So before we get too crazy with engagements, shopping, etc., I thought it would be a good time to reinforce the Thank You and Appreciate You type of cards. And my sentiment is definitely one that would show our appreciation for a friend, co-worker, or random at of kindness.
The new Stampin’ Blends are available for you to order beginning today. So I have CASED a card from the Stampin’ Blends Kit that Stampin’ Up! has created. It is a wonderful way to get the feel of the blends.
Color Me Happy, 144069
These colors just POP ! I am not very good with the blends yet, but they are beautiful and I know I will have a blast playing with them.
Other than the Night of Navy, I did not really have a color combination I was working with. I just randomly picked a few pairs of blends (They come with a light and a dark of each color) and started playing.
Tip: I stamped flowers randomly on a full sheet of Whisper White card stock , colored the flowers, and then cut it into angles and other shapes. A great way to try the blends and then have a variety of focal points for future cards.
Thank you so much for visiting today! I very much appreciate it. If you have any questions about the Stampin’ Blends, or anything else stamping related, please contact me. I hope you have an AWESOME day !!
My supply list of products I used today are listed at the bottom of the post.
The Hug In A Mug stamp set is sort of a “sleeper” in the Holiday Catalog. I looked at it but passed it by in all of my flips through the catalog. That changed when I was given the set as part of the festivities at Brian King and Pam Morris’s World Card Making Day in Atlanta. After the hot chocolate treat favor we made with the set, I was definitely in love. So I have made some hot chocolate for you today.
Hug in a Mug, 144933
I apologize for my poor photography. The foil in this Foil Frenzy DSP is hard to photograph. It just wants to shine!! Today’s card is a 4 X 4 card. I can see making a lot of these for the winter months (or when Mother Nature decides to stay cold here in the south!).
I hope this card will give you incentive to check out this stamp set. It is on page 42 of the Holiday Catalog. It is a set that would be perfect year round.
Again, the DSP was my color chart. The Foil Frenzy paper is wonderful. It is more of a Craft than Crumb Cake but it all works together. I added the white layer to tie in to the stamped layer. But it is super quick and easy card.
I hope you enjoyed today’s card. I appreciate your visiting and hope you have a fun and safe Halloween.
Reminder: The last day for the DSP sale…………

I have a , as I like to say, made a “Funky Fold” for you today. My Stamp Club’s Fall swap had a challenge for a different type fold. Today I have CASED the fold one of my club member’s used. Thank You CindyTeague!!
Christmas Quilt, 144793
I love the lighter look that this paper combo gives. As usual, my colors came from the DSP. This is the Quilted Christmas 6X6 Designer Series Paper. I would have never thought to use Pool Party as a focal point on a Christmas card! But I love it.
I have extra photos to show you how this version of the Gate Fold works.
Everything except the inside sentiment is from the Christmas Quilt suite of products. I adore that little felt Christmas Tree. The inside sentiment is from Season Like Christmas stamp set.
You do not have to do as many layers as I did. But in case you want to add all of them, I have given you the measurements for everything below.
MEASUREMENTS:
The card base is 5 1/2 X 8 1/2, scored at 2 1/8 and 6 3/8
The white layer on each side is cut to 2 X 5 3/8
The DSP layer on each side is cut to 1 7/8 X 5 1/4
The sentiment layer on the front is cut to 3 X 1 7/8 for Pool Party and 2 7/8 X 1 3/4 for white
The tree layer on the front is cut to 1 7/8 X 2 5/16 for Pool Party and 1 3/4 X 2 1/8 for white
The inside sentiment layer is the normal 4 X 5 1/4
I hope you enjoyed this Funky Fold. I will be sharing folds from the other ladies in the near future. Thank you for stopping by today. I very much appreciate your interest and kind comments. And do not hesitate to ask if you have a question.

I usually aim for quick and easy cards. Well today I have the ultimate of that! The new Color Me Happy stamp set that has arrived to go with the new Stampin’ Blends is really a perfect set. The designs are intended to be colored. I chose the only word stamp.
Color me happy, 144069
The Designer Series Paper is the Whole Lot of Lovely, and it gave me the colors to use. As you can see from these beautiful stripes, I could have chosen several that would have been wonderful. But I went with Tranquil Tide for the base. Because the Thank You is stamped in black, I did a narrow border of black behind the DSP and the focal layer.
I colored the shadow part of the word with the Pool Party blend and left it there. I could have colored the entire word with the light and then the dark for the shadow. But after doing the shadow, I decided that was sufficient. As I said to begin with this is the ultimate Simple Thanks.
There are black dots on each side of the “YOU” of the sentiment. To give that a little attention, I added the Black Rhinestones on each of those. I love those little cuties! And I must say that when I first saw them I thought there is no way those will fit on any card that I make. HaHa!! I was so wrong! They are another item from the Holiday Catalog that I hope carries over.
The Stampin’ Blends will be available to customers on November 1, as will the stamp set. I hope you will give them a try.

I began today’s card thinking really simple and quick. Then I kept adding this and that. And you know how it goes when that happens. But I hope you can see the simplicity underneath my add ons.
County My Blessings, 144790
Fall colors was the first thought I had for this card. I wanted it to be a little on the soft side though. So I started with Old Olive , added Peekaboo Peach, and decided to stop there. The peekaboo peach is from the Painted Autumn DSP.
I stamped with old olive and colored the leaves with the old olive Blends. But then I thought it had too much green. So I went back and added the falling leaves and colored them with the pumpkin pie light blends. Except it still did not feel just right. So I added Julie DiMatteo’s patented marker flicking technique to get the little flecks of color to break up the stark white. That seemed to tie in with the DSP a little better. Finally I decided it was finished! Yay!!
I cannot believe that I did not add any kind of accessory. That is a first for me!!
Thank you for visiting today! I very much appreciate your taking time to check my blog and especially for the nice comments.

I have a cute little card that would be perfect for a Just Because type card! It is the Merry Cafe and Coffee Thinlits. And even though there is no pumpkin color to the card, it says that it is “pumpkin spice season”. Actually it is starting to get there here in the south. Although to me any time is pumpkin spice time!! I love the stuff. But as I have said before, I do not drink coffee. I just get the pumpkin spice in everything else…..

This card base is the “Z” Top Fold card that I have done previously. I had a nice lady ask me for a link and I didn’t really have one. I just sort of did it myself. So I have made another with that fold and will give a little better direction on how I did it.
MEASUREMENTS & DIRECTIONS:
The card base is cut to 4 1/4 X 11. It is scored at 2 3/4 & 5 1/2
Fold and burnish on the score lines. Fold the 2 3/4 score line under so that the fold is against the 5 1/2 score line. But Do Not secure it yet
The first layers are: 3 3/4 X 5, 3 5/8 X 4 7/8, 3 1/2 X 4 3/4
Top layers re 2 5/8 X 3 3/4, 2 1/2 X 3 5/8
Adhere the bottom layers with the DSP together and secure to the base card.
Adhere the top layers together and lay them on the DSP layer to see where your ribbon will be. (I do not adhere this layer until after I secure the ribbon.
Choose your ribbon and cut a strip wider than your card. Use Fast Fuse or glue dots to adhere the ends between the folded “Z” top. Now tape or glue that top section closed , with your ribbon in between it. (This allows for a clean looking inside flap when the card is opened)
Now attach your focal point layer.
For added touch to the ribbon, I cut a strip, or 2 in this card’s case, and tie them around the attached ribbon at the top.
A NOTE about my ribbon today. I used the 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon for this card. However it was too thick for the amount of room I had at the top. So I cut it in half lengthwise. I then cut two individual strips from the leftover half and used them as the tie.
REMINDER: The Designer Series Paper Sale is almost over. I hope you will not let this great offer get away from you.

I have played with the Stampin’ Blends again today. Although with a small project it is a little harder to really do any shading. But I am still learning as well. I used Sprinkles of Life to make a little Fall Basket. I need one of these for my porch right now.
Sprinkles of Life, 139971
This is just a simple 4 X 4 card that I put together pretty quickly. I debated on a sentiment for the front over and over. I finally left it blank and thought of it as a Random Act of Kindness card. It could pretty much be for anything.
I tried to make the flowers look like a Fall arrangement, but I am not really sure I succeeded. I was alright with the outcome and used the flower colors for the card colors.
I used the Petal Burst embossing folder to give some texture behind the basket. Although I flipped it from a raised embossing to a negative embossing. The ribbon is actually Berry Burst but I believe it looks like a bright Rich Razzleberry when put together.
MEASUREMENTS:
The base is Rich Razzleberry cut to 4 X 8 and folded in half
The Whisper White layer is 3 3/4 X 3 3/4
The Daffodil Delight is embossed and is 3 1/2 X 3 1/2
The basket is stamped on a scrap and cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits
Thank you so much for visiting today. I hope you will consider making some cards to use for RAK times.

I am sure that from my title you are thinking I have really gotten ahead of myself. This card was sort of an accident. I was going to make a card with the Season of Whimsy set and it just sort of evolved in my mind as I was looking at the set. So I have made probably the first New Year card of anyone.
Season of Whimsy, 144978
So do you think I am crazy? I hope you can see how this would evolve from a Christmas card into a New Years card. I really do love that sparkler.
The colors came from me choosing the ones for the Christmas ornaments. I was playing around with the new Stampin’ Blends and ended with these colors. So then I just added the same colors for the base and layer. The sparkler is heat embossed in Smoky Slate and then I added the metallic shapes to give it a little more bling.
This is definitely a little wacky, but I like the outcome. I very much appreciate you stopping by today and I would love to hear your thoughts on this unusual card!

I have used the Christmas Quilt suite of products for this card. It is quick and cute. What a deal! This is one of the cards that I used in my swap with my Monthly Card Club this past weekend.
Christmas Quilt, 144793
The Quilt Builder Framelits Dies match so many of the stamps in the Christmas Quilt stamp set. I used the triangle die to cut the trees from the Quilted Christmas 6 X 6 Designer Series Paper stack. I also cut the tree stand and the star using dies from the set.
I pulled the colors for my card from the designer paper , as usual! I promise that is the easiest way in the world to get your perfect match of colors. I would not have thought to put Pool Party and Real Red together. But when you add the matching paper is really works.
I adore the sentiments in this stamp set as well. They are very simple and sweet. My sentiment is stamped in Pool Party, so it doesn’t show up as well in the photo as it does in person.
MEASUREMENTS:
The base of my card is Real Red cut to 4 1/4 X 11 and folded in half
The Pool Party layer is cut to 4 X 5 1/4
The Whisper White layer is cut 3 3/4 X 5
The Real Red under the DSP is 3 3/4 X 2
The DSP is 3 3/4 X 1 3/4
Thank you for visiting today! I hope you will give this Suite of products a look. They are so great together and I think we can use them year round. There is always a need for a snuggly quilt!
