I have a really quick and fun card that is a layout I plan on using often. This one highlights the Sentimental Wishes stamp set.
STAMPS
The Sentimental Wishes stamp set is one I have used recently. It has the more “old time” looking images. These are right up my alley. I believe the proper word would be they are Classic images. That sounds much better! Today I have focused, in more than one way, on the small candles image. It is stamped using Basic Gray Ink for a softer look. And then colored using Stampin’ Blends. All of the supplies, including the Blends colors are in the supply list at the bottom of the page.
To add a bit more detail to the card front, I stamped the holly image repeatedly around the top of the card. It is Real Red Ink on Real Red card stock. This matches the holly in the candle image. And it keeps it the front from being too plain.
The sentiment is from the stamp set as well. And I added the adorable little bow from the set to highlight the sentiment. I used it in the previous card from earlier in the week. You can see that cardhere.
PAPERS
This sweet strip of DSP is from the Take A Bow Designer Series Paper. This paper is the one that goes along with the Bow making Dies. I love this paper. There are more than the normal number of the same sheets which would make this a great option for multiples of this card. Plus all of the papers are such pretty prints. The colors are Garden Green and Real Red like I used for this card. And Granny Apple Green which is a fabulous complimentary Christmas color.
I opted to keep this card fairly simple by the single layer card base of Real Red and then the Garden Green background layer to the DSP. The layer is 1 1/2 X 5 1/2 and the DSP is 1 3/8 X 5 1/2.
EXTRAS
There are two simple additions to this card. Although the first one is sort of the Co-Star. It is the 2″ Circle Punch used to highlight the stamped candle image. I went in as far as possible from the bottom, and aligned the side of the punch with the right edge for placement. Any shape of punch or Die would work for this technique.
The little touch of bling is very simple one. I used the smallest Basic Rhinestone Jewel and colored it with a dark Real Red Stampin’ Blend. This single piece of bling seemed all that was needed to finish the card. I hope you agree.

Before I get to today’s project, I wanted to remind you that the Kit Sale is going away soon. It is over on Halloween! So if you have one, or more, that you have been considering now is the time. You cannot bet the 30% off.
I have a a sweet Winter card to share today. It is not necessarily a Christmas card as it is more of a Caring card. I thought the set was adorable when I first saw it. And I am just now getting around to inking it up. It is a fun one for sure.
Stamp Set
This sweet snowman and bunny scene is a single stamp from the Snowman Hugs stamp set. I think it is a perfect one for friends and even as a thank you during this coming Winter months. And even better is the perfect sentiment included in the set as well. There are a couple of snowmen along with a few sentiments that are funny and sweet. I hope you will take a look at it in the Mini Catalog.
The image is stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then colored using a variety of Stampin’ Blends. All f them are listed in the Supply List at the bottom of the post. The colors are all pulled from the paper. I may have taken some liberties with my snowman’s vest. I used Poppy Parade for the trim and bow tie and then both of the Shaded Spruce for the vest. The vest has plaid markings. The overall is the Light Shaded Spruce with the striping being the dark Shaded Spruce.
Papers
This fun paper seemed a perfect match for the snowman. It is from the Snowy Scenes Designer Series Paper. This is a great pack that I almost overlooked. It has snowy scenes like this on one side and then fun plaid, snowflakes, and candy canes on the other sides. There is something for any Winter card. I use the Candy Cane piece on another card for later in the week.
The card base and layer were also from the DSP. I pulled the very light Pool Party as the card base. I love this color and use it as a highlight fairly often. Then to help the DSP pop, I added a layer of Poppy Parade. Once I began putting everything together I felt like I needed to ground the snowman. So a thin strip of the Poppy Parade did the trick.
Extras
To give the sentiment a little extra, I used the Everyday Details Dies. These Dies have large holes punched around the pieces. But the smallest circle is this one I used. It has smaller stitching and works great here. To finish the scene I needed some bling. I could not decide on what would work the best and decided on some color. But there is not really a Poppy Parade bling. I fixed that however. All I had to do was color a few pearls with the Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends. Easy Peasy!!!

The stamping retreat from a few weeks ago may have been cut short due to the hurricane, but we were still able to share some awesome projects. I have changed up a little of one of them to share with you.
Stamp Bundle
This sweet bundle is appropriately named! It is the Sweetest Star Bundle. Plus it is a Punch bundle, these are my favorite kind. In addition to the gingerbread star, there are also Mr. and Mrs Claus stars. The card from the retreat that I cased, had the gingerbread stamped and White embossed. The designs really stood out. I wanted to see how a simpler version would do as I have quite a lot of customers who are not big fans of heat embossing.
My gingerbread man is stamped with Real Red Ink on Crumb Cake cardstock. I wanted a “soft and chewy” cookie. LOL!! By using a White Gel Pen I could color inside the outlines to make the frosting. Additionally the Sweet Wishes stamp is included in the set. It is stamped in Real Red Ink as well. The end of the strip of paper is flagged with Paper Snips for a fun cookie look.
Papers
The two different pieces of DSP are both from the Snowy Scenes Designer Series Paper. I love the soft peach snowflake piece. It is beautiful and different. And the candy cane piece is perfect for a cookie card. Both of these are layered on Real Red cardstock. I chose Crumb Cake as the card base when I chose it for the cookie. The only additional touch of White is the sentiment, and the inside layer of course.
Finishes
To compliment the busy DSP papers I kept the finishes simple. The added Real Red & White Bakers Twine made an adorable little bow for the gingerbread cookie. And a single addition of a red & white peppermint at the tip of the sentiment highlights it and the peppermint.
Measurements
Card base is Crumb Cake 4 1/4 X 11
Real Red layer is 3 3/4 X 5, and the candy cane Real Red layer is 1 1/2 X 4 1/2
The snowflake DSP is 3 5/8 X 4 7/8
The candy cane DSP is 1 3/8 X 4 3/8

This is the second version of this “view” card I have made. You can see the other version HERE. It is such a great way to make a quick card, but to also show off gorgeous DSP paper and scenes.
Paper
As with the previous card using this layout, the paper is the star really. For this card I have pulled out the beautiful Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper. I loved this paper last Holiday catalog and was so thrilled that it was carrying over. Of course I had to grab another pack of it with the DSP Sale earlier. This card is great to make multiples of as it only takes a small piece of DSP. I cut the DSP to 3 X 2 3/4. And then cut it into 1″ strips. The hardest part is keeping the strips in the proper order when cutting for multiples. Ask me how I know that!!!
To compliment the DSP, I chose the gorgeous Misty Moonlight as the card base. I love the blue gray and how it really pulls the color from the DSP. For the scene layer I went with Shaded Spruce to stand out a little bit. Even though it is another darker color, it does stand out. And in my figuring out the sentiment part, I cut the background from Misty Moonlight, when it should also have been Shaded Spruce. Duh! I did correct it for my Club ladies.
Stamps
There are two stamp sets used on the front of the card. The first is the background stamp on Misty Moonlight. It is a texture look that is stamped tone on tone with Misty Moonlight Ink. That stamp is from the Lovely & Sweet stamp set. Small background stamps are great to have on hand for adding small touches like this.
The second stamp used is the Unbounded Love stamp set for the sentiment. It is a sentiment only stamp set. This is actually a Bundled set with Dies that fit all of the sentiments. The small sentiment is bold and with a jaunty font as well. It is a tad large for the Die, but it works. The Die cuts the outside ruffled edge as well as the inside in one cutting. So I layered the White and Blue and cut it one time. With the Basic White being a thinner paper it was not a problem at all. I have a little tip for adhering these together. Place the White inside the scalloped outer section. And place them face down on your table. Add Stampin’ Dimensionals in each corner so it overlaps the center and the outer section. Very easy and it holds well.
Finishes
To add bling to a darker card can be a little tricky. For the bling portion of the finish I added a single Iridescent Pearl. Then I had to use the new Natural Tones Linen Thread as the add on to the paper view. I chose the dark blue, probably a Night of Navy. This is a bit thicker than the regular Linen Thread but not so thick that it is difficult to work with.

I am still working on Christmas Cards and enjoying sharing them with you. Hopefully most of you have already gotten your cards made and in the mail. With my hubby’s foot injury and doctor appointments, I am so far behind that I have missed a few birthdays even. Life continues to happen!! So let’s go for a Sleigh Ride today!
Bundle
This card is made with the Horse & Sleigh Bundle. It is one of the Online Exclusives and is still available. I love this sleigh! The set has several other images and sentiments to use as well. This horse and sleigh is stamped with Basic Gray Ink for a little lighter outline. I did not want it to stand out a lot. All of the image is colored using Stampin’ Blends. I did go over the parts that needed to be darker. By using the Basic Black Dark Stampin’ Blend, I was able to color the sleigh runners and the horse harness and reins without everything being black. I will say that I used more Stampin’ Dimensionals on this horse and sleigh than I do on a couple of cards!! LOL!!!
Papers
This DSP piece is from the One Horse Open sleigh Designer Series Paper. It is part of the Horse & Sleigh Suite of products, and is also still available. When I saw this piece, I knew it was perfect for a sleigh scene. And I love the softer colors on this page. I pulled the card base and layer from the paper of course. They are Lost Lagoon for the card base and then Copper Clay for the layer. The paper does so much of the work that with it and the sleigh, the card is finished.
Sentiment
This sweet sentiment is included in the stamp set also. I love Wishing You Cheer! Without covering the beautiful paper, I went for simplicity with the sentiment. It is stamped using Copper Clay ink and then fussy cut. Although the fussy cutting was a lot of straight cutting, which I loved. The final touch was one of the larger Rhinestones next to the sentiment.

Today’s card includes my favorite paper from the Mini Catalog. It is the Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper. I love the blues with a pop of berry with them.
This card is a CASE from The Paper Pixie, Julie DiMatteo. I love the really simple layout. Here is a look at the open view.
Papers
I do love the DSP, Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper. Cutting it was so fun, and sad at the same time. LOL!! I did this card for my stamp club and it was wonderful to see the different looks depending on the part of this piece of the DSP was used on each card. I cut it into strips so that the top and bottom pieces matched back together, or at least were close. And where I tend to have a few layers, I shocked even myself with putting the DSP right onto the card base. The card base is Pretty Peacock as the loan green from the paper.
Stamps, Dies, and Punches
The matching stamp set to the DSP is the Magical Meadow. It is a bundle, and I only used one die from the matching Die set. This is a minimalist looking card and I love that for a different style than my norm. The focal layer is a sentiment included in the stamp set. It is stamped with the sentiment and the smoky looking tree scene on a scrap of Basic White.
The little tag is then punched using one of the new Punches in a different Punch Bundle. This is the Modern Oval Punch. It is a great size! The sprigs are dies from the Magical Meadow Bundle. I cut two of them from Misty Moonlight card stock to mimic those in the DSP. They are layered and then the oval is added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The inside center panel is where you would sign your name. I added the same tree scene there as well. Being originally from East Tennessee, the smoky looking tree scene reminds me of my Smoky Mountains! The finishing touch is a single bling from the Faceted Gems Trio.
Measurements
The card base is 4 1/4 X 11 and scored at 4 and 6 3/4. There are no layers except the DSP. Be aware when folding your card and cutting your DSP that the two larger sections are not the same size. The top section is the smaller one, and requires paper cut to 4 X 3 3/4 and the bottom section paper is 4 X 4. For the white center section it is 4 X 2 1/2.
