Snowman

This is my second card from this cute as a button Snowman Season stamp set.  I clicked the “I want it all” button on this group of products!

Even with a bit of coloring using the Stampin’ Blends, this is a quick card to make.  My favorite sort of project.  With the limited coloring, this would be a perfect card to make multiples of!

You may not be able to see it very well in the picture.  But I used the Light Pool Party Stampin’ Blend on the ground at his feet.  I think that it works great to reflect the snow with just a couple of strokes.  The hat and scarf are colored with Real Red and Bermuda Bay.  TIP:  I find that when coloring small spaces like this that using the small tip on the Blends works best for me.  That tip is actually larger than the tip of the painting end, but because it is firm I do not run out of the lines of the small space as much.

The Designer Series Paper is from the Let It Snow DSP.  The opposite side has the raised and sparkles area.  But you know I love the flip sides!  The coordinating colors are Real Red and Coastal Cabana.  I chose to go a tad darker and used Bermuda Bay on this one.

The Real Red Curly Ribbon is such a great added element.  It is a little thicker though.  You almost have to raise your focal point with Stampin’ Dimensionals to keep it smooth.  My knot is just a little piece cut off and tied around the main piece.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you will return for tomorrow’s InKing Royalty Blog Hop.

Cup of Winter

I am still playing with products from the Holiday Catalog.  I think the catalogs get better with each new one!  Although it is still record breaking heat here in the south, I am enjoying the holiday stamp sets.  I can pretend it is at least Fall.  HaHa!!!  Mother Nature apparently has other ideas for us.

Hopefully this card will make you think of a nice winter day.

Stampin' Up!, Christmas Gleaming, Cup of Christmas, Toile Tidings, Jackie Beers

Your vision may not be quite the same as mine.  I see this as a cup of warmth and looking out the window at a Christmas scene.  I used the Stitched Rectangles Dies to give the window with the Toile Tidings DSP as the outside view.

I combined a couple of stamp sets in the making of this project.  The ornaments are from the Christmas Gleaming Bundle.  I stamped on Very Vanilla with Garden Green ink and then used the Christmas Gleaming punches to punch them out.  I added Mossy Meadow Baker’s Twine from the Magnolia Ribbon Pack to “hang them” from the top of the window.

The mug is from the Cup of Christmas Bundle.  I used the matching dies to cut the mug from another piece of the Toile Tidings DSP.  The sentiment is in the Cup of Christmas Bundle and I simply trimmed it to fit the mug.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you will return tomorrow and on Wednesday is the InKing Royalty Blog Hop as well.  We are half way through September, which means we are also halfway through the DSP sale.  Take a look at the flyer below for a list of the DSP included in the Buy 3, Get 1 Free sale.

Let It Snow

It is no where near ready to snow here in Georgia!  Sadly we are still in the 90s here.  But…..having received my pre-order of the Let It Snow Designer Series Paper and the Snowman Season stamp set, I could not wait to give it a try.  I am pretending it is cool weather.

Stampin' Up!, Snowman Season, Let It Snow, Jackie Beers

I really do like the different colors in this pack of DSP.  There is Real Red and Shaded Spruce in it.  But there are also Coastal Cabana and Flirty Flamingo as well.  I love these.  This sheet of paper is a perfect balance for me.

The snowman looks like he is having a blast playing in the snow.  I colored him with the Stampin’ Blends in Light colors.  I added the Real Red for the sentiment and then thought it needed “something”.  So I used the Splatter technique with the Stampin’ Write Marker to Flick color onto the white layer.  That made me happy!

Thank you for coming by today.  I hope you will return again on Monday for more new projects.

Joy and Funky Fold

Happy New Catalog Day!!  Today is the launch of the Holiday Catalog.  WooHoo!!  I love the suites and products.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  Also, the Designer Series Paper Special begins today.  I have a picture under Updates at the bottom which lists the papers on sale.

Now on to today’s project.  I am sharing one of the new Designer Series Papers from the Holiday Catalog on this card.

I adore this DSP!!  It is photos on one side and silver designs on the opposite side.  I used my current favorite color of Seaside Spray for the base as well as the New Metallic Ribbon in Seaside Spray.  The ribbon is in the Holiday Catalog as well.

The card is an idea I got from seeing a money envelope at the Dollar Tree.  I did not measure it, I should have!!  But I just played with it until I liked the angles.  I am working on my first video and it is this angle.  I will go ahead and try to explain so you can recreate it.

Directions:

  • The base is 4 1/4 X 11, scored at 3 3/4 and 7 3/4.  Fold and burnish on the score lines.
  • The shorter of the ends will be the top.  Fold the bottom up and leave the top out flat.
  • Place the score line of the top on the 1″ mark of your cutter, and place the opposite point in the cutting groove.  (You have to slide it away from the top bar to have room for the folded card to lay.
  • When you cut this, you create the angle. Even though it was from the 1″, the distance down on the short side is actually 1 1/8″.   I have no idea why that is, but it works out.
  • Cut DSP to 3 5/8 X 4 1/8 for bottom and 3 X 4 1/8 for top angle.
  • With the top DSP, place it with the top against the top bar of the cutter, turn it counterclockwise and place it at the 1″ mark.  Make a tick mark just beyond the cutting track on the edge of the paper.  (This way you cut you are cutting just to the left of the tick mark and it will be cut away.)  Now place the tick mark in the cutting track and also the opposite corner.  Make your cut.  This will fit perfectly on the angle flap.

I hope these directions are clear enough.  I will try to have the video very soon.  I think this is a super cute card and can be adjusted to different sizes once you have the basics.

Thanks for checking in today and I hope you are enjoying the new catalog.  Please come back tomorrow.

Be Jolly for GDP165

I have another of the adorable snowmen for the Global Design Project color challenge.  The challenge is for Merry Merlot, Tranquil Tide , and Crumb Cake.  Well who would not love that mix of colors????  I use them regularly.  And especially with the Joyous Noel Designer Series Paper.  So here is my Jolly Snowman.

Stampin' Up!, Spirited Snowmen, Candy Cane Season, Jackie Beers

Spirited Snowmen, 148072

My card is one that any level stamper could quickly duplicate.  I stamped the snowman with Memento Tuxedo Ink and then colored him with the above colors.  The only addition is Pumpkin Pie for his nose and pool party to give some depth to his “snow”.  A little swipe is all it takes for that.

The gorgeous ribbon is the reversible Merry Merlot / Copper ribbon in the Holiday Catalog.  It is so pretty. I did twist the ribbon in making the knot so that only the Merlot side showed.  I then adhered the sentiment with a row of glue dots.  As I said, easy peasy!!!

Thank you for visiting today!  I greatly appreciate it.  I hope you will return tomorrow for another quick and easy project.

Winter Cheer

It is so hard to think of Winter and Christmas here in the South when the temperature still acts like it is July!  Yikes, I am ready for a little cooler weather.  Maybe my card for today will give you a little hint of cooler weather with some Winter Cheer!

Spirited Snowman, 148072

This cute little person looks so happy and cool that I just had to have this stamp set.  You can never go wrong with snowmen, or snowwomen, right?  They are great for all of the winter, not just for Christmas.  At least that is what I told myself! LOL!!  Like I need a reason to buy a stamp set.

This is really a quick card.  I only colored the snowman’s accessories plus just a touch of the Light Pool Party around the edges of his body to give the illusion of a blueish ice.  The designer paper is the Festive Farmhouse DSP.  I also added some of the Silver Thread for a touch of texture behind the snowman.

I have all of the measurements and the supplies I used listed as you go down the post. (Oops:  I did not list the Cherry Cobbler Ink in the supply list!)

I appreciate you visiting and love to read your comments.  Thank you for stopping by today.

MEASUREMENTS:

  • Base of Gray Granite CS is 11 X 4 1/4
  • Layer of Cherry Cobbler CS is 4 1/8 X 5 3/8
  • DSP layer is 4 X 5 1/4
  • Small Cherry Cobbler CS is 2 7/8 X 2 5/8
  • Small White layer is 2 3/4 X 2 1/2
