Happy New Year to you!

My New Year wish is for everyone to Happy, Healthy, and Safe!  And to go along with that, today’s project is about the Happy New Year also.  Even if a day late, this is my first post of 2023.

Stampin' Up!, Brightest Glow, Celebrate Everything, Stylish Shapes, Opal Rounds, Jackie Beers

This bright card has a bit of Old (going away) and New (current products) to reflect a happy New Year to come.  It is also my Design Team entry for the Make My Monday Blog Challenge.  The theme for this challenge is Something New.  That could be taken a few different ways, but my thought was totally new, as in the New Year.  You can see all of the designers’ cards, and enter the challenge yourself by clicking on the little MMM badge below.

Paper

Once again the paper is the standout of the card.  This is one that is almost gone in terms of being purchasable.  It is the Celebrate Everything Designer Series Paper and is a Host reward in the current Mini Catalog.  So you only have until the end of day on January 4th to order it.  Actually these are the two sides of one paper.  I loved the brightness of the red and pink piece.  And the fireworks page was perfect for a Happy New Year.

Stamp

This beautifully scripted sentiment is from the Brightest Glow stamp set.  And with cheers of joy, it is carrying over!  All of the sentiments in this are beautifully written.  With the bright papers, especially the fireworks, I did not think this really needed a lot of extras.  So I kept it fairly simple with the one sentiment and paper layers.

Embellishments

To say simple and go from there is a bit lacking.  There must still be some bling.  Especially with the fireworks!  They are their own sparkle but still need something!  So I added to the center of the fireworks a variety of colors from the 2021-2023 Opal Rounds.  Some of the colors match and others are fairly close.  I think they give some subdued sparkle to the card.

December InKing Royalty Blog Hop

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s December Blog Hop! During this year’s blog hops, we are having fun with our stamping favorites – our favorite themes for seasonal cards and projects. This month’s projects are all about party fun – festive gatherings like New Year’s, birthdays and other fun times. How fun! We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

I do not normally make a New Years card.  This time there was an idea in my head that I had to put to paper.  And this card was the result.

Stampin' Up!, Word Wishes, Stitched Stars, Gold Metallic, Silver foil, pop up, Jackie Beers

Front Dies

The front of the card is a mix of Silver and Gold which I love.  Plus I am totally in love with the Word Wishes Dies!  They are awesome.  All I had to do is add a piece of adhesive sheet to Basic Black cardstock, add the dies, and run through the Cut & Emboss machine.  It is like magic.

The stars are all from the Stitched Stars dies.  There are such unique designs, as well as a great mixture of sizes in this die set.  I love the mix of size and colors. And of course Basic Black goes with everything!

Inside Dies and stamp

I designed the card around the idea for the inside.  And I am thrilled that it turned out just as I envisioned it.  Early last week  I made a Pop Up gift card holder.  I shared it with The Paper Pixie and she made the Pop Up section one piece instead of two.  Her version is what I used that idea to hold my swirl of gold stars.  This piece is also sized down a bit since it only needed to hold the two little pieces.

My choice for the DSP is from the Neutrals 2021-2022 6 X 6 paper stack.  I used the Smoky Slate piece to pair with the silver.  What you see of the two stand up Gold pieces are actually one die cut that is cut in half.  And the extra stars are what was popped out of the die cut piece.  No waste here!!

Fancy Happy New Year

I wish a very Happy New Year to all of you.  May this year bring us all Good Health and Good Cheer.

I wanted to do a Happy New Year card and wasn’t sure which stamp set would work for that.   I had just pulled all of the retiring stamps and remembered Flight Of Fancy.  I love this set and did use the Halloween one a time or two. I used what is probably intended for Valentine as my New Year Baby!

My thought of the baby is the old time New Years advertisements where it showed Father Time and the New Baby.  And if you are younger than me you may not even remember that.

I used the upcoming new Blending Brushes to make the background.  I added Balmy Blue, Highland Heather and a bit of Misty Moonlight.  I stamped the baby using Memento Tuxedo Ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends. The baby is shooting loving hearts of Highland Heather this year.

The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set.  The greeting is actually Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  I used the Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Write Marker to just color the Happy New Year part.  If you do not have the markers, you can use tape to cover the part you do not want inked, ink the stamp, remove the tape, and stamp.  Personally I love the markers.

The DSP is from the Artistry Blooms Designer Series Paper.  It is a darker version of the colors I used for my background.

Thank you for stopping in today!  I hope this is the beginning of a wonderful year for everyone!!

New Year Whimsy

I am sure that from my title you are thinking I have really gotten ahead of myself.  This card was sort of an accident.  I was going to make a card with the Season of Whimsy set and it just sort of evolved in my mind as I was looking at the set.  So I have made probably the first New Year card of anyone.

Stampin' Up! Season of Whimsy, Jackie Beers Season of Whimsy, stampinup season of whimsy

Season of Whimsy, 144978

So do you think I am crazy?  I hope you can see how this would evolve from a Christmas card into a New Years card.  I really do love that sparkler.

COLOR COMBINATION:

The colors came from me choosing the ones for the Christmas ornaments.  I was playing around with the new Stampin’ Blends and ended with these colors.  So then I  just added the same colors for the base and layer.  The sparkler is heat embossed in Smoky Slate and then I added the metallic shapes to give it a little more bling.

This is definitely a little wacky, but I like the outcome.  I very much appreciate you stopping by today and I would love to hear your thoughts on this unusual card!

The supplies I used are listed at the bottom of the page.  If you click on any item you will be taken directly to my online store.
