It is almost time for my beach trip and I cannot wait.  Sitting on the sand and doing NOTHING is my idea of a good time.  Thinking about my trip helped me to realize that I had not shared my Seashell card with you.  My upline, Brian King, shared it and others recently.  The card was made for a card swap among team members. If you did not see it on his page, then awesome!  You get to see it from me first.

I love this layout.  It came from an old sketch challenge I had seen and made note of.  This really allows a pretty piece of designer paper to shine.

The Sand & Sea Suite of products is Amazing!!!  I love every piece in the suite.  And I managed to use quite a few products in the suite.

The base of my card is a piece of Thick White cardstock.  The gorgeous blue is Seaside Spray, one of the retiring colors 🙁 .  Both pieces of DSP used are from the Sand & Sea Designer Series Paper.  The seashell piece is layered onto a piece of White cardstock and raised with dimensionals.  The gorgeous blue water piece of DSP is cut 2 X 4 , and then 3/4 is cut from each end.  Those pieces are adhered onto the Seaside Spray on each side of the raised piece.  The larger section is then lined up across the top.

The seashell images are from the Friends Are Like Seashells stamp set.  They are stamped using Sahara Sand Ink and then filled in with the appropriate pieces from the stamp set using Blushing Bride Ink.  The dies are part of the Suite of products and are amazing!  I finished each of the shells with a touch of Wink of Stella for some glimmer.  The sentiment piece is also from the set and is stamped with Seaside Spray Ink, with an overlay of the small starfish.  It is then cut using the 2 1/4″ Circle Punch.  The final touch is a couple of the Opal Rounds.  They do not show very well in the photo but do shine and fit in perfectly in person.

Thank you so much for stopping in on this Monday.  I hope you were safe from the storms of Saturday that seemed to be everywhere!

I am really happy to share today’s card with you.  It is a quick, but really cute card.  It is also one that you could easily make multiples of and have on hand to add whatever sentiment is needed for the occasion.  My sentiment is a sweet one that I love.

Stampin' Up!, Stitched So Sweetly, Friends Are Like Seashells, In Good Taste, Jackie Beers

I love every layer of this card.  I paired the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper with the Greenery Embossing Folder, and Stitched So Sweetly Dies.  The sentiment is from the Friends Are Like Seashells stamp set.  I think this is such a sweet sentiment.  And I love the font!

The base card is Crumb Cake with a wider than normal border before the Seaside Spray layer.  I am SO going to miss the Seaside Spray!  It is a perfect blue.  The DSP piece has just a touch of the Crumb Cake in it, and that is all it needed.  (There is a similar pieces that has a touch of Misty Moonlight in place of the Crumb Cake!!)

The banner is first cut using the Banner Triple Punch and then embossed with one of the two Greenery Embossing Folders.  These folders are designed for the Mini Cut & Emboss Machine.  But they work perfectly in the regular size as well.  Tip:  I recommend to punch before embossing.  The embossing softens the paper, and that could cause issues getting your perfect banner.

The top layer is the sentiment.  It is stamped onto the Crumb Cake piece and then die cut.  The Stitched So Sweetly Dies are probably my most used ones. I love the rectangles as well as the fun shapes, like this one.  The finishing touch is a simple bow made with the Blue & White twine from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you like this sweet card and will maybe try this layout.  I got the idea from the Annual Catalog.  There is a card on page 69 in the upper right corner.  You never know where your inspiration will come from.

Here are the measurements for today’s card.

  • Card base is 5 1/2 X 8 1/2, scored and folded at 4 1/4
  • Seaside Spray layer is 5 X 3 3/4
  • DSP layer is 4 7/8 X 3 5/8
  • Banner is 2 X 3 1/4

I have used the Friends Are Like Seashells Embossing Folder a couple of times.  The detail is simply amazing!  Today I have paired the embossed image with the Die that matches it.  Oh My!!!

I used Stampin’ Blends to color and highlight some of the details made by the Seashells Embossing Folder.  It gives it a watercolor look.  The best part is how easily the Die matches up to the embossed panel for cutting.  It is such a great idea!

The gorgeous paper behind the die cut is from the Sand & Sea Designer Series Paper.  It not only has the flowing water look, but up close it appears to have texture as well.

The sentiment is from the stamp set.  And I think it is a wonderful one that will get a lot of repeated use!  I stamped it using Calypso Coral Ink and then used the Story Label Punch to cut it out.  I added two of the Pastel Pearls to jazz it up just a bit since I did not layer it.

This Seashells Suite is just beautiful, no matter which product you choose to use or pair together!  I highly recommend it.  It makes me want to be sitting on the beach right now!!

Thank you for stopping by today.  I do appreciate you.

Friends Like Seashells

I have some new products to share today and they are a WOW!!  It is the Friends Are Like Seashells Suite.  Everything is just wonderful.

I hate to keep saying this, but the photo does not do this justice.  The embossed paper is the Pearlescent Specialty Paper.  It is a vanilla look with shimmer.  I embossed it with the Seashells Embossing Folder, and that alone was very pretty.  But I went a step further and watercolored the raised areas.  I used the Water Painters and Ink Refills.  The shimmer still comes through the painted areas.

The card base and layer are Soft Sea Foam and Seaside Spray.  Both are beautiful, soft colors that are perfect for this suite of products.  The sentiment is an immediate favorite!  I decided on the set based on this sentiment.  Then the more I saw of the products, the more I was sold.

I stamped the sentiment in Flirty Flamingo and punched it out using the Timeless Label Punch.  I couldn’t decide where to place it.  Finally I decided it needed to be grounded.  So a strip of the Seaside Spray was the saving point.  The finishing touch is one of the Opal Rounds next to the sentiment.  (It really doesn’t show in the photo.)

Thank you for stopping by today!  I really appreciate it and hope you will come back tomorrow for another project.

Simple Things

Happy New Year’s Eve!!!

I have a new card to share with you.  But I wanted to remind you first of the Curvy Celebrations products.  The Curvy Christmas stamp set and the Classic Christmas DSP will be going away next week.  The Quite Curvy Bundle will be available in the upcoming Mini Catalog.

My favorite of this bundle is the Designer Series Paper.  It has Winter and Anytime patterns on the paper.  The card I am sharing with you today is using some of that paper.

The Designer Series Paper in the background is from the Classic Christmas DSP!  The pattern is in all of the colors of the paper.  I think it is a perfect background.

I paired this paper with the upcoming stamp set, Enjoy The Moment.  This is not a set I would normally purchase.  The images are all seed pods from around the world.  They are all a sketch like the one I used today.  They are all lovely, just not my normal choice.  What sold me on the set was the sentiments!  Now I love the entire set of course.

The sentiments are all just “perfect” ones.  They are like the one I used today.  “Friendship is found in simple things”.  I just love that!  In our crazy year, it is the simple things that have been the stars, at least for me.

Did you notice the bright green of the sentiment?  I stamped it in Mossy Meadow Ink to match the card base.  I then decided to give parts of the card some sparkle.  I went over the top of the seed pod and the sentiment with Wink Of Stella.  Oh My!!!  It just gave some shine to the seed pod.  But it made the sentiment really stand out.  I was thrilled with an unexpected find.  I would never have thought it would change the shade of the color and give it such brightness.  Woohoo!!  Now I want to try all of the colors to see which other ones change like this.

To finish the card, I added the Light Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blend as shading around the stamping.  I also added the Mossy Meadow Braided Linen Trim.  This trim is a dream to work with.  It is the same as the Real Red Braided Trim in the current Mini, but much softer.  The Red one is pretty stiff.  The final touch was a few of the Elegant Faceted Gems.

As has been the case most of this week, some of the images of upcoming products are not available to me yet.  So if my supply list is missing pieces, that is why.

I do have the measurements for you today.

  • Mossy Meadow card base is 5 1/2 X 8 1/2
  • Whisper White is 5 1/4 X 4
  • Classic Christmas DSP is 5 X 3 3/4
  • Mossy Meadow is 2 3/8 X 3
  • Whisper White is 2 1/8 X 2 3/4

Thank you for stopping by today.  I really appreciate you following my cards.  Be safe during this New Year debut!

Hey Friend

Today I am taking a short break from Christmas cards and projects.  I have received a couple of orders of upcoming products, including Sale-A-Bration items.  So I am sharing some of that with you today.

I love this little donkey!!  He is sitting there looking like I feel.  I have been busy for the last couple of weeks, and us old retired people are not supposed to be that busy!

The little guy is from the Darling Donkeys Sale-A-Bration stamp set.  That means he and his friends can be yours FREE with a $50.00 purchase once the new catalog and SAB go live on January 5th.

I am also showcasing some of the new Designer Series Paper that will be available for anyone who joins during Sale-A-Bration!  It is a real Sneak Peek of the next Annual Catalog in May.  So a long way off sneak peek.

For this layout, I cut my layers with the Pretty Peacock at 5 1/4 X 4, and then both sheets of DSP to 5 X 3 3/4.  I then placed the opposite corners of the DSP on the paper trimmer cutting line and sliced it in half.  Now I have two extra pieces to make another card like this.

Thank you for stopping by today.  Please come back tomorrow for another new project.
