Tilted Vases

Today’s card is a little Wacky as opposed to yesterday’s Bright card. ¬†I will return to normal cards next week…maybe ūüôā ¬†I have used Mary Fish’s Million Dollar Stamp Set, Varied Vases and the matching punch for my card. ¬†I am in Mary’s 3rd tier so I feel appreciative of this wonderful bundle. ¬†It really matches Mary and has her signature tulip in the set.

Varied Vases Bundle, 148381

Remember that the title for today is TILTED Vases.  Actually the vases are the only things aligned straight on the card.  This card came about from items left on my stamping desk.  It is a bit different, but very bright and happy.

I stamped the vases with Gray Granite ink on the white layer as well as the outer two stamped onto scrap paper. ¬†I colored all three with the Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends and then punched the two outer vases using the matching Vases punch.

Even though the red layers are Real Red cardstock, the red flowers are Lovely Lipstick marker on the left and Real Red marker on the right , with Pink Piroutte Stampin’ Blends in the center. ¬†The Washi tape seemed to match the Tutti Frutti DSP so it serves as the table for the vases.

When I was deciding the final layout, I bumped my layers and they went a little askew. ¬†That made me rethink the normal layout and this is what I ended up with. ¬†Sometimes you just go with the flow….what’s laying on your desk and the result of moving your layers. ¬†A happy ending as far as I am concerned!

Thank you so much for visiting today!  I hope to see you back on Monday morning.  All of the supplies I used are listed at the bottom of the page.  I hope you have a great Memorial Day Weekend with family and friends.  I will be remembering those who helped us to enjoy the freedoms we have.

It is still a great time to become a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator. ¬†I would love to have you join my team. ¬†A great perk for demonstrators this time of year is getting to see the new catalog first. ¬†Then we get to order and play with the new products a month early. ¬†For me, that is one of the best parts of being a SU Demonstrator. ¬†Of course, the discount helps! ¬†If you are interested, please contact me and let’s talk.

Friend

I have another retiring products card.  I cannot seem to stop and it is usually because of the Designer Series Paper.  I hate to let some of this go.  I chose this stamp set specifically because of the DSP.  The background stamp mimics exactly the DSP I used from Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper.  So here is one more play with the Hello Friend stamp set.

Hello Friend, 144059

Actually there is quite a bit of retiring product here.  The stamps, DSP, and the Enamel Shapes are all waving goodbye. The base of the card is Thick Very Vanilla card stock.  I used Tranquil Tide as the background layers and the Eastern Palace DSP for the focal point.  The sentiment is stamped in New Blueberry Bushel Ink.  It is a beauty!!

Here are the measurements I used for this card.  I actually got the idea from looking at sketches on Pinterest.  You never know where Ideas will come from!

Measurements:

  • Base is 4 1/4 X 11 scored at 5 1/2 folded, and burnished
  • Tranquil Tide is 4 X 5 1/4
  • DSP is 3 7/8 X 5 1/8
  • Small Tranquil Tide is 2 3/4 X 4
  • Small DSP is 2 5/8 X 7/8
  • Small Very Vanilla is 2 5/8 X 3
  • NOTE: ¬†or if you don’t mind using a little extra DSP…..Make the small DSP 2 5/8 X 3 7/8 and then simply lay the Very Vanilla directly on top of it at the top with the DSP only showing at the bottom. ¬†It does make the alignment and size much easier to deal with. ¬†This is what I actually did on my card since the DSP is retiring!!

Thank you for visiting today!  I very much appreciate your visits and comments.  The full supply list is at the bottom of the page.

Beautiful You

I have married new and old products for today’s card. ¬†The stamp set is Beautiful You and I am thrilled that it carried over to the new catalog. ¬†I have paired it with the returning favorite Mint Macaron and a new color Grapefruit Grove. ¬†They are great together I believe.

Beautiful You, 143637

The other new items you might notice are the gorgeous ribbon. ¬†The 1/8″ ribbon is my favorite for depth on cards. ¬†It is “Just Enough” without overpowering. ¬†I also stamped on the Natures Poem Designer Series Paper with the lady and fussy cut it out. ¬†The stripes for her dress and the added stripe on the card front are one side, and the leafy print umbrella is the other side of the same paper. ¬†I know I have said it often , but I LOVE Stampin’ Up!’s beautiful double sided DSP!!

The ink behind the lady is Soft Sea Foam, another new color. ¬†I used the Clear Block “H” as the stamp. ¬†And the texture on the background layer is the Scattered Sequins Embossing Folder.

Thank you very much for stopping by today.  I greatly appreciate it, and love your comments.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  The supplies I used are listed at the bottom of the page.

Don’t forget that the Share What You Love Suite of products is still available for pre-order through the end of the month.

Hugs !

I have spent the weekend rearranging my craft space and incorporating the NEW Stampin’ Up! products from my pre-order. ¬†Oh My!! ¬†I am in trouble because I want it all. ¬†I have added a new banner at the bottom of the narrative portion of this post. It is the NEW ¬†Share What You Love Suite of products. ¬†I may have said it, or thought it before, but this is my all time favorite suite that SU has ever created. ¬†By clicking on that picture you will go to my online store and can view all of the products. ¬†There are three different tiers of products you can order, as well as some Ala Carte items. ¬†You get to get a touch of the Demonstrator Perk of ordering before the catalog is live! ¬†But I hope you will check out my card first……..

Abstract Impressions, 147513

The stamp set I used is Abstract Impressions, and it is a beautiful Must Have stamp set.  But the star of this card is the gorgeous Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper.  This flower pattern is probably my favorite of the pack.  Then when I was looking for a color to back the sentiment layer with, I noticed the other side of this sheet and new it was perfect.  I really like the double sided DSP SU always has!

The colors in the DSP are beautiful . If you are wondering about the base color of the card.  It is the new Petal Pink.  Another winner in the new Color Revamp.  It is , at least to me, a more soft peachy pink look.  I believe it pairs wonderfully with the returned Mint Macaron as well.

To further show that SU is really On Trend with the new colors, I was reading the latest HGTV Magazine Friday.  It is all about painting and color.  All of the SU colors, especially the newer ones, are front and center in the magazine!  I was so impressed and pleased.

I hope you are as excited as I am about the new catalog and all of the new products and colors.  Again, if  you do not currently have a SU Demonstrator , I would love to work with you.  And it is always a great time to become a demonstrator.  You can even add a lot of the new products to your starter kit!!

Thank you so much for visiting with me today!  I hope you will return tomorrow and Wednesday is the InKing Royalty Blog Hop.

Spring

I am once again focusing on some of the retiring products. ¬†Today’s feature is the Host Rewards Stamp Set, Background Bits, and the ever popular Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper.

Background Bits, 144029

Because this is a Host Rewards stamp set, the only way you can get this gorgeous set is to either host a party, or have a qualifying order.  But, since you are stocking up on your favorite retiring product, this is the perfect time to do either one.

I love the soft Spring colors of this DSP and I tried to coordinate the stamped flowers by using the Wisteria Wonder marker to tie it together.  And of course the Petal Burst Embossing Folder always is a great pairing for flower stamps and/or DSP.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  If you are interested in earning this set before it is gone, please let me know.  All of the supplies I used are listed at the bottom of the page.

Work Of Art for Pals Blog Hop

Welcome to our Pals Blog Hop, May 2018. This month we‚Äôll be ‚ÄúStepping Up with Textures or Techniques.‚ÄĚ What’s that? Projects that are ‚Äústepped up‚ÄĚ by using textures or fun techniques. Who knows, maybe both! Join us in the fun while we inspire you to ‚Äústep up‚ÄĚ your creations.

You may be starting the hop here or you may be coming from a previous Pal‚Äôs blog. Either way, you‚Äôve come to the right place. You‚Äôll find the full line-up below to help you move or ‚Äúhop‚ÄĚ along from Pal to Pal.

For an old but goody technique, I have done a negative sponging technique.  It is one of the simplest techniques to do and always gives surprising and beautiful results.

Leaflets Framelits, 138283

I have used the Leaflets Framelits (on the retiring list ūüôĀ ) to make a template. ¬†And it’s a 2 for 1, you get a leaf already cut out for a future project. ¬†I centered the negative of the leaf on my Whisper White card stock and secured it with some Washi Tape. ¬†You do not want the template to move while you are sponging. ¬†To begin, I colored the entire leaf with Calypso Coral, then went over all but the center with Cherry cobbler. ¬†I then went around the edges with Cajun Craze for a little more depth. ¬†Now just lift up the template and you have a beautiful stenciled Leaf.

The sentiment is from an old favorite the Work of Art stamp set. ¬† I next die cut another leaf from a layer cut for my card. ¬†There are two ways to attach the stenciled leaf. ¬†It can be adhered to the top layer from underneath. ¬†Or it can be adhered to the base card and then the top layer attached over top with Stampin’ Dimensionals. ¬†That takes a bit of aligning, but I love the look.

To finish off my card I stamped the little corner decoration in Cherry Cobbler.  I love the simple little addition.  It is from the Not Retiring new set Hold On To Hope.  Although, this is a bundle and the 10% discount for the bundle will end when the Occasions Catalog ends.  So jump on it now!

Thank you so ¬†much for visiting today! ¬†I appreciate your stopping by my blog during the hop. ¬†I would love to read comments from you. ¬†The supplies I used are listed at the bottom of the page. ¬†Remember the Retiring List and Clearance Rack are “While Supplies Last”. ¬†The leaf framelits and Work of Art set are both on that list.

Now it’s time to see how the rest of the Pals are Stepping up with Textures or Techniques. Please use the Blog Hop Line-Up below to move from blog to blog. Don‚Äôt forget to show us some love by commenting on our creations.

Mark your calendars for June 13, 2018 where we feature projects for Babies, Birthdays and Brides. You’ll probably even see products from Stampin’ Up!s new 2018-2019 Annual Catalog. Don’t miss it!
