Stamping on pretty DSP causes me to hesitate just a second. I am afraid of dropping the stamp or stamping crooked! Only because I have done those things. For today’s card I managed to stamp straight with no malfunctions. All of that aside, this is a great card layout using a leftover piece of DSP.
A Die Cut Frame
This layer was cut previously for a different card and did not use it. (I also still had the piece cut from the center !) Then I happened to have this beautiful DSP on my table as well and I thought it would make a fabulous frame. This is a layering Die from the Beautifully Celebrated Dies. These were in the previous Mini and are still available as an OLE. It is bundled with a great stamp set also. Additionally there are other fun Dies besides these layering ones.
The center cut out shape was used on this card also. This is the 2nd largest Die from the layering ones. I used the next smaller and cut from Basic White. These are then layered on the inside of the card for a fancier touch.
Papers
The beautiful DSP is one I used last week. It is from the Valley In Bloom Designer Series Paper. These little bells are so pretty. They have the softest touch of Blackberry Bliss. And that was what my Die cut piece is. A win for me. There are a few different greens in the art work and it was a little back and forth to choose which to use. I decided to go with Bright, and ended with Granny Apple Green to draw out the brightness of the leaves.
Stamps
The gorgeous mix of fonts, and the sweet sentiments are from a new stamp set. It is titled Sending Salutations. And these are wonderful sentiments. It is an all sentiment set and I am good with that. This covers a variety of needs in a very beautiful way. To continue the Granny Apple of the cardstock, I used that for the stamping. It seemed not too bold for the stamping on the DSP.
Extras
The only Extra is a subtle Bling. I know I have used these several times previously, but they are my favorite Bling in the new catalog. They are the 2026-2028 In Color Butterflies. I went with the Blush Color for a very subtle touch next to the sentiment. That is not a normal Bling thing to be subtle. I just though this was such a pretty picture, that subtle would work.

As I was making cards today and looking for an appropriate sentiment, I had an Ah Hah moment. We all have friends wether ones we talk to every day or every now and then. They are all friends and should not be forgotten. Since I make a lot of cards to post, I wondered why I do not send out more Friend cards. Maybe “just because” type cards. Yes, I know the cost of mailing cards continues to escalate, but aren’t our friends worth a little bit of stamp money. I do believe they are. Do you have Ah Hah moments when you are stamping??
Z folds are such a great way to “up” a simple card.
Embossing Folders
Stampin’ Up! has some amazing 3D Embossing Folders. The one I have used today is really special. It is the Floral Spray 3D Embossing Folder. This one has different types of flowers and greenery and a whole lot of definition to go with them. Plus it is pretty enough to be the star of the card. Trying for an appropriate sentiment led me to the Friend narrative from the beginning today. Because that is all this card needed to complete it.
Papers
The detail of the embossing folder shows up very well on any color. But I was going for a dark and light combination. The card base and embossed layer are Lemon Lolly. That is one I do not use very often. And I paired it with Peaceful Pine. I am not really a Green person. However this one is gorgeous and if you follow my posts you know I have used it several times already!
Fern & Flora Bundle
This Bundle, and the Suite is included in this statement, may be my favorite of this new catalog. The paper is gorgeous. But the details in the stamps and sweet sentiments are just as good. I could have used the Fern Embossing Folder but have used it quite a few times already so opted for this one. And the layer for the sentiment has just enough detail with those notched corners. I also added a sprig of the greenery Die cut from the Peaceful Pine cardstock.
Extras
The extra to go along with the floral details was a lot of bling. I scattered around a trio of the Iridescent Pearls. They really shine up against both of the light and dark colors. That is a win.
The Z Fold is a simple one if you are new to card making. The cardstock is cut to 11 X 4 1/4 and then scored at 2 3/4 and 5 1/2. The 5 1/2 is the center fold. And the 2 3/4 is the Z portion. Fold it backwards and adhere the focal layer to only that small panel. There you are with a bit of extra for a simple card.

This card is more about paper and Die than stamping. The Tag Die is a favorite for sure! And it is on the Last Chance list for a bit over $8.00! That is a fabulous bargain.
Die Shapes
These Paper Tags Dies are so adorable! I am using the shapes for a Baby Shower Tag next month. The heart is one of things I love the best. I am sad they are retiring though.
The larger tag is cut from Basic Beige cardstock with the smaller being Basic Beige that is stamped on using Garden Green Ink. These tags are great layered as I have or simply used individually.
Embossing
The Stone & Ivy Embossing Folder you have seen from me before. This may be an all-time favorite because of the extreme amount of detail to the leaves. And pairing it with the 2 Tone Cardstock is a double bonus! I love that this cardstock has a White core so you can see the detail, or distressing if you prefer. With the details here and the pretty tag, this card is finished!
Layout
This card is a Z fold card which works great with the embossed layer. The inside allows you to see the opposite side of the embossed piece. It is a 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 scored at 2 1/8 & 4 1/4. Fold back the first score line and adhered the left side of the embossed layer to only that piece. TIP: Add your adhesive to the folded bag section. That way you do not run the risk of adhesive being too far over and sticking your card closed! Here is a photo of the inside.
Extras
Unfortunately the Paper Tags stamp set is already sold out. The sentiments are from the set. But the Antique Pearls are the Bling on the front, and they are still available.

Stampin’ Up! has a fabulous Bundle that I was a bit nervous about when I first saw it. This Bundle is a die and stamp set that creates the little pop up inside pieces that we have made for years. The exception is that where we have always folded paper strips to make the pop up mechanism, SU has created a Die to do this for us! WooHoo! on that from me. I always got my folded pieces a bit cattywhampus!!! (That is a technical term for crooked!) I am excited to share my version with you using the Die.
Pop Up Petal Bundle
The card I created was kept simple on purpose. I wanted the pop up part to be the star, but to also showcase a fairly quick and easy card. All of the images are from the stamp set, and the pop up box inside is created with the Die. The inside flowers have dies as well.
To create this card you do need to have a “liner” on the inside. Otherwise you would have a hole in your card at the fold. That is not a good look. For my version I used Thick Basic White for the card base of 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/2. Then I cut down a regular weight Basic White layer to 5 X 8 and scored at 4. The Die for the pop up box is a small rectangle (actually there are two different sizes of boxes you can cut). The easy part is that the Die has an arrow at the top and the bottom which aligns with your score line. By placing the die aligned like that it cuts it exactly where it needs to be and you have tackled the hardest part.
There is also a simple way to add some DSP to the “box” by using the same Die and simply cutting a straight line on each end where the die would not cut. The little flaps are a separate Die and make a great addition. The hardest part is attaching the flowers without having excess adhesive. You do not want to close your card and due to extra adhesive it does not open again!
Mixed Up Patterns Designer Series Paper
This fun pack of paper named Mixed Up Patterns is a great one. These patterns are not bold floral or geometric. They are simple patterns that compliment almost anything. My front panel and the inside pop up box are both pieces from this pack.
Extras
To continue with the simple and easy theme of this card, I kept the embellishments along those lines as well. On the front is a strip of Balmy Blue Gingham Ribbon that is wrapped around the layer and secured on the back. Then a short piece is slipped underneath the front and tied in a knot. This is the easiest bow there is! And my bling is not very shiny today. I chose to go with a soft bling. The Moody Palette Glossy Dots are a mix of colors that are soft with a touch of shine to them. The purple vase was just a bright pop for the card and then the light dot gave it the match to the other pieces.

Card making is something I do because I love it. I was wowed and in love from the first home party I went to many years ago. Since I have been busy with the houses and not stamping as much I have felt the lack of being me. Now that I am stamping regularly again I am back to my happy place. Today’s card is one that fits my feelings. It is a card for no reason other than “Just Because” . I believe there are quite a lot of people that would appreciate a simple Just Because card.
Beautifully Celebrated
These layering Dies are from the Beautifully Celebrated Die set. There are flowers and other pieces to the set, but I wanted these lovely layering pieces. For me the layers make the card. I used three different sheets from the Mixed Up Patterns Designer Series Paper. Not really sure why I chose to add Strawberry Slush to the Balmy Blue, but it works.
Gallery Blooms
The single floral stem is from the Gallery Blooms Bundle. I sponged the colors using Sponge Daubers and stamped a couple of times to get the right colors. There are some bleeding over, but I am ok with that. Handmade cards are not perfect. At least mine are not!
The stem is cut using the matching Die from the Bundle. I did raise it from the layers using Stampin’ Dimensionals for some depth. And I added a double Linen Thread Bow for texture. To add a simple bow to a single flower is something I tend to always do.
Sentiment
This sweet and perfect sentiment is one that is in the February Product of the Month. I hope you have grabbed this set entitled Fabulous Sayings. There is a great mix of sentiments in this set. It is only $5.00 with a $75.00 order. And it is while supplies last. But if it does not sell out in February, it will still be available in March while supplies last.
Extras
I have already mentioned the Linen Thread as the first Extra for today. The other are Rhinestones. These are something that I love but forget when there are new embellishments to play with. However they are definitely one to keep in your stash. They work with almost any card layout. Some really shiny bling is never wrong!

I am continuing my group of cards made with the Love Notes Designer Series Paper. It is such a fun paper and makes cards in a snap. Today’s is EX-tra Fun I think.
Love Notes in a Cup
All of the papers, with the exception of the card base and layer, are the Love Notes DSP. As I have said several times, this paper is so much fun to use. It is like “what can I pair together next?”. Personally I was overjoyed when I saw these purple layers. Purple, along with orange, are my favorite colors. So this was meant to be.
The purple polka dot layer is so cute with the faded look going on. And the strip of plaid is the reverse of another sheet of the DSP I had trimmed. It matches the heart on the cup. And the two are what gave me the Flirty Flamingo as the card base and layer.
Extras
This is maybe the simplest of all of the Love Notes cards I have made. So there is only one extra today. But it is also a favorite that I am so happy is still an active product. It is the Purple Shimmer Gems. These are so pretty as they come in a variety of purples. Almost like the polka dot DSP, there are different shades of purple. They are a great embellishment to have on hand.
