It is a “Sneak Peek” Day! I am giving you a peek at one of the new stamp sets in the upcoming 2018 Occasions Catalog. An advantage to being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator is that we get to pre-order from the new catalogs. It is like Christmas coming early!!!
The stamp set I am using is called Waterfront. But I made it into a mountain scene instead. I know….that sounds really odd. So please let me know what you think of my creation.
Waterfront, 144973
The card is a 4 X 4 base, but not a square layer. I had stamped everything before I decided to cut it down but could not cut the sides any further. So it is not squared and not your eyesight playing games with you.
I used almost all of the greens in the SU collection to make the scenery. I think it looks like some of the old time paintings with the white spaces. Or it looks like a child’s drawing, LOL!
The sky is made by using the sponge roller and Marina Mist. I like the texture the sponge roller gives for a sky. The punches are also new, well one of them is. The scalloped circle is one of two that are new to the 2018 Occasions Catalog as well. I love punches for quick and easy.
I added the linen thread wrapped around the card as a little rustic/masculine touch. I love giving some extra texture to my cards and this is a great way to do it.
Thank you so much for stopping by today! The supplies I used are listed at the bottom of the page.
I had used all of the Christmas cards that I made for sending out to friends and family, and of course then realized I had forgotten some folks. Isn’t that always the case. So I went back to my craft space and grabbed a quick and easy set to make some more cards. I wasn’t thinking when I grabbed the Merry Patterns set. I really do love it and it is extremely versatile. The only problem is that it is/was a limited time Hostess set. But I hope a lot of you have this set and can CASE what I have made today.
Merry Patterns, 144973
The candles from this set are so pretty and super easy to color. They are stamped as the outline, the flames, the background candles, and the front candles. So it looks like I did a really good job of coloring and stamping. Except all I had to do was line up the stamp with the outlined image. Another reason I love our photopolymer stamps!!
I hope you can see how simple this was. I made several in just a little bit of time. It took longer to cut all of the paper than to stamp and put them together.
My pre-order for the 2018 Occassions and Sale-a-bration catalogs arrived today! Woohoo!!! So I will have some non holiday cards for you in the coming days. I cannot wait to play with all the new items.
Have you considered becoming a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator?

MEASUREMENTS:
Smoky Slate base of the card = 8 1/2 X 5 1/2, folded in half
I have used another of the figures from the Seasonal Chums Bundle for today’s card. I was so thrilled when I saw it was Carrying Over after the Holiday Catalog ends. It is so cute and versatile. But you only have this month to get it at the Bundle price of 10% off. So I hope you will grab it up now.
Here is my cute little Rudolph card for you to check out.
Seasonal Chums Bundle, 146077
I used the Season Like Christmas stamp set for the trees and sentiment. I stamped the first layer of tree with Always Artichoke and the second layer with Old Olive. I know those are very different, but I love how they look combined. There are a few other colors mixed in there, like Crushed Curry and Soft Suede, along with the Old Olive. But it would look odd to have 6 colors in my “color combination” !! I think this illustrates that you pick two or three that are the focal point and then the others are in the supporting cast. Yes… I totally made that up. But it is how my brain works.
I die cut the reindeer and colored him with the Stampin’ Blends Markers. I gave his nose and the bell on his collar a touch of Wink of Stella to give it some shine. I have started adding the white or vanilla layer as the first layer after the base on a lot of the cards I make. It seems to balance that light color when it is the large top layer. I hope you will give this a try.
Thank you so much for stopping by today! The supplies I used are listed at the bottom of the post. And I do love hearing from you in the comments. I hope you have an awesome day!
In case you haven’t noticed this about me…..I love animals. Pretty much any animal, except the nasty, creepy ones. And dogs and cats are my favorite. So when I made the pizza box of gift tags the other day. You can see it HERE. I decided that I needed some animal gift tags. I give Christmas gifts to the animals of my friends and neighbors too. Doesn’t everyone??? So this is one of the dog ones that I made.
Santa Paws, 144889
I think this turned out very cute. Sort of a Doggy Rudolph. I could not resist giving him a red nose when I was coloring the hat. The coloring is done with the Stampin’ Blends. I love those guys!!!
The tag is made with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. That is one punch that I hope Stampin’ Up! keeps for a very long time. It is so versatile. I think this tag will dress up my doggy treats very well this holiday season.
Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you will consider adding some tag making to your holiday stamping. It is so much fun and you can accomplish quite a lot in a short period of time.
The supplies I used are listed below the monthly specials. Please check those out as well. There is still time for you to reserve your Stamparatus!
Before I get into my card for today, I have a Wonderful Announcement!!! Today Stampin’ Up! is doing another full day of FREE SHIPPING !! Woohoo and Happy Dance!!! Merry Christmas from Stampin’ Up!
I have a super cute card for you today!! It is not a new technique, but it is the first one I have made. And don’t be like me…. I thought it would be really time consuming to make and a little difficult. It is neither of those bad things. Here it is!
Santa’s Suit, 144827
Santa’s Suit, 144827
Isn’t this just too cute? I was playing with the Santa’s Suit stamp set and the idea of Santa dressing or undressing just seemed appropriate. Then I notice the “good night” and that decided that he was undressing. I was so happy with how it turned out. And I think Santa ending his night and getting undressed was just perfect for the four sections. A touch of Christmas whimsy I think.
I stamped Santa and his clothing with the Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them with the Stampin’ Blends. I really love those markers!!
I cannot take credit for the technique used here. There are several videos out there on how to make the inside work. The best one that I found was “Maymay Made It… Twist Pop-Up Card Tutorial. Her instructions are super easy to follow. So I hope you will give it a shot.
Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you will check out each of the specials running below and especially the Stamparatus! The supplies I used are listed at the bottom of the page. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
I have another Birthday card for you today! As I mentioned earlier in the week, I have been behind even on my birthday cards to send out. I hate that. But this card is a super flexible layout. This layout would work for any type of card needed. All you would need to do is change out the sentiment and maybe add some other accessories. Here is the simple version for today.
Eastern Beauty, 143675
I just adore the entire suite of Eastern Beauty! The designer series paper is some of the prettiest that Stampin’ UP! has and the stamp set is one of the most versatile. As you can see from this layout, it does as I mentioned at the top of the post. It would work with pretty much any sentiment and DSP.
I mentioned yesterday about the new STAMPARATUS and want to repeat that information . Oh my, it is the cat’s meow of stamp positioners. I was on my trip when it was debuted and the first reservation period came. But from now to December 30 you can reserve one for yourself. They will begin shipping in March on a first ordered, first shipped fashion. And they will be available in the 2018 Annual Catalog in June. I cannot wait that long though!! For you to reserve your own, go to my website and log in with your account information. Then click on the reservation button under the Stamparatus icon. You can reserve your product now and will not be charged until it ships. There are several videos and other sneak peeks out there for you to checkout. I apologize that my technical difficulties are not allowing me to add that for you here. I hope that will be remedied soon.
Thank you so much for visiting today!! I greatly appreciate your visits and comments. If you have any questions, please do no hesitate to contact me.
Today’s post is a day late due to technical difficulties. But no worries. We are back on track! This is a super fun and easy gift for anyone. I have made several to give as Hostess gifts either for stamping parties or when we are invited to someone’s home for the holidays. I hope you will like the idea.
Labels to Love, 144967
Can you see how quick and easy a gift this would be? I have a few more to go in the box but only photographed the four. You can fit about eight easily in the box. And this is almost a no difficulty type project. The pizza box comes ready to fold into place. The stamp set matches perfectly the Everyday Label Punch. And the larger label is from the Lots of Labels Framelits. A win/win/win !! Woohoo:)
Thank you for stopping by today and I really do hope you will consider this type of handmade item as a great Hostess gift for your friends.
Before you go, I apologize for not having explained about Stampin’ Up!’s new STAMPARATUS !!! Oh my, it is the cat’s meow of stamp positioners. And don’t forget the End of Year clearance sale as well! There are some great deals and the retiring items from the Holiday Catalog.
The Night of Navy just seemed the perfect choice for this card base and the Wise Men. Sahara Sand is great complement color and the Crushed Curry is just the touch of brightness that I felt it needed.
As I said, this is just a super quick and easy card to stamp. It is definitely a perfect card to do at a card buffet or beginner class. Or just for a quick and easy card to make multiples of. I hope you will give it a try.
Thank you for visiting today. I hope you have a super day!!
I know that is a goofy title….. But I am so happy to be back to my normal routine!!! I hope I still have followers 🙂
I had an Amazing trip to Europe for two weeks. And then came home sick. So I have not had the energy to move, much less go down to my craft room. I hate to have missed blogging for so long and that I wasn’t able to remind you of some awesome sales. But I am back…… And I have links to the Year End Sale, Retiring List, Carry Over List and the Blendies.
So to jump back on the card bandwagon, I have a cute Happy Birthday card to share. Yes, I got behind on those as well. And I really feel bad about missing birthdays! So here is my card.
As usual, my color inspiration came from the Designer Series Paper. I wanted something different from Holiday colors so I flipped through my paper and decided on Whole Lot of Lovely DSP. The blue in this floral is supposed to be more Tranquil Tide than Bermuda Bay. But the different shades match a variety of blues actually. I preferred the brighter and went with Bermuda Bay.
The gifts are stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored with the Blendies. I really do love those pens and I hope you will give them a try. They make coloring so easy!! I used a strip of Bermuda Bay to ground the focal piece as it seemed to get a little lost with all of the floral of the DSP. Sometimes all you need is a little scrap of card stock to finish the card.
I appreciate you hanging in there and waiting on my return to the living! I had a great trip and hate that it ended with me being down for a while. But all is well, and I can’t wait to show you some of the latest cards and ideas I have.
The products I used today are listed at the bottom of the post. You can click on any item and be taken directly to my online store. I hope you have a great day!!!
Before I get to the card for today. I apologize for being late with my post. Goodness, sometimes life just gets in the way!!
Also, I want to let you know that my next post will not be until Thanksgiving. I am going on a wonderful trip to Europe with friends. I return on the 20th and I know will be seriously jet lagged. I do not seem to bounce back from these as quickly anymore. Can you relate??? Anyway, I wanted to let my regular followers know not to expect me for the next two weeks. The hubby will be home with the animals , but unfortunately neither he or the four legged children care about keeping the blog going. I know it is shocking!!
So now on to the card. As I mentioned on the Gate Fold card I did earlier in the week, my club did a card swap with a fold challenge. This is another one of the folds that was shared. I have cased it and made my own version. This one is from Velda North.
County My Blessings, 144790
I love the acorns in the diamond shape as the focal point. I do have to say that the DSP and the Lemon Lime Twist around the acorns are the stars of the show. It looks like a normal card (if there is such a thing) but it opens only partially. Here is the inside view.
Even with the somewhat partial opening of the card, this is another super easy to make. And I can think of a lot of cute DSP to use for the front. Even using two different patterns would be great I do believe.
I have added measurements and directions under the measurements. The supply list is at the bottom of the page.
Thank you so much for visiting today, Especially since it is this late post. And remember to check back the week of Thanksgiving to see more of my creations.
MEASUREMENTS:
Card base is 5 1/2 X 8 1/2, score at 1 1/4 and 4 1/4 on the 8 1/2 ” side
Fold back the 1 1/4 and tape down.

The DSP on the right is 1 1/4 X 5 1/2
The center strip is 7/8 X 5 1/2
The inside white piece is 2 3/4 X 5
The acorn white piece is 2 1/8 X 2 1/8 of the layering squares
The Lemon Lime Twist scalloped is from layering squares as well.
The acorns are colored with the new Stampin’ Blends
