Your Birthday

I love different folds for cards.  There is nothing wrong with the normal “fold it in half”, I just like to add a bit to the card with a different look.  Today I am sharing one that is a little different.

Bloom By Bloom Bundle, 150598

You know how much I love BRIGHT cards, so I am sure this color scheme does not frighten you!  This is the Happiness Blooms Suite of products.  I love this entire Suite, and have used several different pieces on this card.

I mentioned this is a bit of a different fold/ layout.  Here is the open view so you can see.

Bloom By Bloom, 150598

Do you see what I mean?  The front section of the card is cut off and then a large panel is layered on top of it.  You get to see the gorgeous Designer Series Paper.  I like that it is just a bit different.  I hope you do as well.

The flowers are punched with the Bitty Blooms Punch Pack which is part of the Bundle.  I LOVE these little guys! One of the punches will punch a small circle.  I used a couple for the inside of flowers.  But I also used the Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots for a few of the flower centers.  I was just being different and wanted to add some different textures.  In case you wonder why I have included the Paper Piercing Tool in my supply list, it is what I use to pick up the glue dots and place under the flower. I also use it to pick up the embellishments, like pearls, rhinestones, and the enamel dots.   I have done this for so long that I am having a hard time transitioning to the Take Your Pick tool.  It does much more but I find myself reaching for my old faithful!

I have included a bit of direction with the measurements.  As always, if this doesn’t click for you and you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

MEASUREMENTS & DIRECTIONS:

  • The base is 8 1/2 X 5 1/2 scored and folded in half
  • Cut a section of the front off at 5 3/4.
  • The front layer is 4 1/8 X 4 1/8 of card stock
  • The front layer White is 4 X 4
  • The left front card stock beneath the DSP is 1 3/8 X 5 3/8
  • The left front DSP is 1 1/4 X 5 1/4
  • The inside card stock is 4 1/8 X 5 3/8
  • The inside DSP is 4 X 5 1/4
  • The inside White is 3 3/4 X 3 3/4 (It fits under the front flap so you do not see it with the card closed)

Thank you so much for visiting today!  I hope you enjoyed this card.  Please come back tomorrow for another new project.

Cherish

I mentioned today’s card in yesterday’s post.  It is a new type card for me.  I love attempting something new. Even though this is an easy one, I still worry about getting it right.  This one is hard to mess up.  And I will give you the cutting directions as well.

Painted Season Bundle, 150349

I had a difficult time getting a good photo due to the window sheet and glare.  I hope this shows you how adorable this card is.  The Painted Season Bundle (stamps and DSP) are new Sale-A-Bration products.  And on March 1 you can purchase coordinating dies for the stamp set. The stamps are all the delicate look as the flower in the center of my doily is.  They stamp beautifully!

I wanted to be a bit different on what I used on the front of the card that shields your inside note and signature.  I decided on the delicate doily from the Doily Builder Framelits.  I love these!!  I die cut the doily, and then punched a 2 1/4 circle from pool party card stock.  If you have used a window sheet previously, you know the adhesive you use on the inside is going to show.  So I used the pool party circle to adhere to the inside of the window sheet.  I should have photographed it from the inside.

I stamped several of the flowers in a tight bundle before I decided to use the doily.  So I went back and picked the one most alone and punched it with the 1 1/2 circle punch.  It fit perfectly and allows the pool party circle to still show through.

I may not have explained my pieces very well.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.  I will be happy to explain in detail.  I have included the measurements below.

MEASUREMENTS:

  • 8 1/2 X 5 1/2 folded in half
  • Cut off 1″ of one side of the card.  This is now the front.
  • Make another cut at 5 1/4 (It leaves 1″ after the fold line.
  • Cut a Window Sheet to 4 1/8 X 5 3/8
  • Cut DSP two pieces at 5 3/8 X 7/8

Thank you for visiting today.  I hope you enjoyed this card.  Please come back tomorrow for another new fold.  All of the supplies are listed at the bottom of the post.

Birthday Wishes

I love quick and easy cards.  Who Doesn’t?  Today I have shared one that is really quick and only needs a few different products to make.  I will also go ahead and give you a hint……tomorrow’s card is using the same colors for a more advanced card.  Well, it looks advanced but is probably as easy to make as today’s card.

Back to the card.  It is one that would be great to have on hand and add an appropriate sentiment, or have several pre-made with different sentiments.  It also qualifies as a #simplestamping card.

Beauty Abounds, 148726

I used one stamp set, the Beauty Abounds, and three ink pads.  I stamped the bokeh, or bubbles if you prefer, first.  I alternated the two colors.  Then simply stamped the filigree type flower over top of them in Memento Tuxedo Black.

For the sentiment, I stamped it first and then added the bokeh.  I combined two sentiments to make this one.  Don’t be afraid to mix and match like that.  The couple of pearls were for some bling.  And don’t tell anyone, but there is a tiny smudge above the sentiment so it got a bit larger pearl!  Ssshhhh….:)

Thank you for stopping by today.  I really appreciate it.  Please return tomorrow to see the card using the same colors.  Truthfully, I did the other card first and then used what was on the table to create today’s card.

There are still Craft Totes available for the join promotion.  However, they are going quickly.  They have sold out in some of the other countries.  So if you are thinking about joining, and I encourage you to do so, don’t wait too long!

Sunshine

The title of today’s post may be a bit misleading.  I was hoping for sunshine as I made the card I am sharing with you.  I am ready to see some blue skies and sunshine!  We have had rain for several days.  I know there are people up north who have a lot of snow and freezing conditions.  I am certain they would like some sunshine as well.

My little touch of Spring and sunshine is in a fairly simple card.  I used the Incredible Like You stamp set. The card is made with only stamps from that set.  I love to do this sometimes.  It shows how well the sets can work alone.   Plus this set has some really sweet sentiments.

Incredible Like You, 148708

For this card I used shades of green and shades of yellow.  The flower is a Two Step flower.  The base color is Daffodil Delight and the definition layer is Mango Melody.  The greens are Soft Sea Foam and Pear Pizzaz.  The Old Olive Linen Thread (which is super nice!!!) was a last minute addition and sort of covers the bit of whimsical stripes I had placed on that end.

I did add a butterfly from the Sale-A-Bration Designer Series Paper Botanical Butterfly for a little added texture and pop.  The DSP is still available even though the Butterfly punch is out of stock at the minute.  Truthfully the butterflies are very easy to fussy cut, but the Butterfly punch is going to carry over to the next Annual Catalog.  That is only a couple of months away!  Wow, time is flying!!  Get the Designer Paper now and FREE during SAB, then you will have it when the punch is available again.  You cannot beat FREE products.

Thank you very much for stopping by today.  I hope you have a great weekend and will return on Monday.  And as always, the complete supply list is at the bottom of the post.

Wonderful

I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s InKing Royalty Blog Hop!  There was some fabulous birthday cards there to inspire you.  Today I have a much softer card.  It is my first time using the Wonderful Romance Suite of products from the Occasions Catalog.  They are gorgeous.  I made a simple card for the first one but have plans for a more elaborate card to try soon.

Wonderful Romance Bundle, 150592

The designer series paper I used in the center is a vellum and the photo definitely does not do it justice.  Oh My!!  It is really gorgeous.  I paired Fresh Fig and Petal Pink , which I never would have done without the DSP having it.

I know you may not be able to see it but the pink is embossed with the Subtle Embossing Folder.  I really adore that folder in that it gives the “linen look” to paper.  Usually that is just enough texture without overwhelming.

The sentiment die cut is included in the bundle and is a bit different from the norm.  I like the frame it makes.  The little flowers above the sentiment are from a scrap of the vellum DSP.  Tiny flower dies are also included in the framelits that perfectly cut out the little flowers.  So of course I had to give it a shot.  They are so delicate looking!

Thank you for stopping by today.  I greatly appreciate it and love to read your comments.  As always the complete supply list is at the bottom of the page.

Birthday Cheer for InKing Royalty Blog Hop

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s February Blog Hop! This year’s Blog Hop themes are inspired by a single word – and this month our projects are centered around BIRTHDAY. It’s always special to celebrate the birthday of someone you love, so handmade birthday cards are always fun to share. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

I new I had the right idea for my card when Brian sent the banner for today’s Blog Hop.  The design in the banner is what I used on my card.  I had to laugh.  So, seeing that DSP you can imagine that my card is very bright and colorful.  Here it is.

Birthday Cheer Bundle, 150576

I love purple.  It was my Mother’s favorite color, so of course I did not like it in my young years.  But as those things go, it is one of my favorite colors now.  I definitely thought of her in making this card.  I used the Gorgeous Grape as the base, and I added the Dot To Dot Embossing Folder in Whisper White to separate the color a bit.  I then went crazy with color and layered two pieces of the How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper.  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!

The sentiment is a combination of two different ones.  The main sentiment is from the Stitched All Around stamp set.  The added “It’s All About You”, which I thought was just perfect, is from Birthday Cheer. My original plan was to have that as the inside sentiment.  I thought about it a minute, and decided I liked it as an added bit of humor for the front panel.

The hat and cupcake are stamped in Gorgeous Grape and colored with Stampin’ Blends, using the DSP as a color source.  My post yesterday commented on the use of regular ink for coloring with the Stampin’ Blends.  Today’s pieces are another example of how well that can work!

I die cut the cupcake but had to fussy cut the hat.  They are both raised with Stampin’ Dimensionals to give the card a bit more depth.  The Glitter Enamel Dots were the finishing touch.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop, Mary Fish at https://stampinpretty.com. There’s lots of inspiration to be found in this group – and you don’t want to miss it!  My complete supply list is at the bottom of the post.
