A Friend

I love the adorable animals the Stampin’ Up! Artists create.  The new Mini Catalog and Sale-A-Bration Catalogs both have some cute ones.  I am focusing on the Happy Hedgehog Bundle with today’s card.

Stampin' Up!, Happy Hedgehog, Double Oval Punch, Brushed Brass Butterflies, Jackie Beers

Happy Hedgehog Bundle

I really love it when I can make a card using a single stamp set.  To me it means that you can purchase the set, or in this case the bundle, and be ready to go.  And for the set to include adorable little critters is just a bonus!  Did you notice the sentiment?  That is going to be an often used one for me!

The hedgehog is punched using the matching Hedgehog Punch.  The cutie can be stamped and punched as one piece like I did.  Or it can be layered with the top different to give added depth.  More versatility is always a good thing.

Colors

My goal for this card was to be bright and happy to match the new Friends.  So I used Just Jade and Pale Papaya.  I stamped everything with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then used Stampin’ Blends to color.  The adorable bird is one that I actually researched.  I needed a bird that was not brown, since most of the other elements had quite a lot of tan / brown.  This adorable little girl is an Eastern Bluebird, if you want to be exact.

After layering the hedgehog for a bit of depth, I did the same for the sentiment.  It is layered over a strip of Pale Papaya.  The perfect fit for the sentiment was the Double Oval Punch.  And for a finishing touch, to go along with the other critters, I added a Brushed Brass Butterfly.  These little butterflies are so adorable!!

Pals January Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop in 2022! This month, the theme is Sale-A-Bration. We really hope that you enjoy and will be inspired by them! As you hop from blog to blog, don’t forget to leave comments because we love hearing from you. You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

I love Sale-A-Bration!  So choosing a project with those products was a piece of cake, except for choosing which awesome product to use!  I chose a few of them for today’s card.

Stampin' Up!, Awesome Otters, Friendly Hello, Sweet Hearts Dies, Jackie Beers

Sale-A-Bration Products

I chose the Awesome Otters stamp set for my star of the card.  The little guy floating was too cute to resist!  And that sentiment is perfect for so many occasions.  We are all Awesome!  To pair with the floating otter, I saw the speckled Fresh Freesia DSP as looking like water.  (You might have to squint real hard!)

That DSP is part of the Sale-A-Bration Friendly Hello Bundle.  It is one of the Free with a 100.00 purchase.  Beautiful paper with a matching stamp set is a win.  And this paper is all Awesome!.  Both of the sheets I used are from the pack of paper.

Other Products

To start at the beginning, the card base is Fresh Freesia chosen from the speckled DSP paper.  A layer of Bermuda Bay is behind the otter, and it came from the dotted DSP piece.  I stamped, colored, and then free form cut the little otter.  For the sentiment I wanted to use a tag .  I found this one in the new Sweet Hearts Dies.  It is a bit longer than I needed, so I simply cut off the bottom area a little.  A bow is always a good thing.  This one is made using the tan from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack.  Of course I had to add some bling.  The 2021-2023 In Color Jewels was perfect with the Fresh Freesia one.

Fun Fold

I failed to mention that this card is a Fun Fold.  You know how much I love to add a bit to a card with a fold.  This one is what I like to call the Barn Door fold.  It is easy to do and allows for some creativity with your layers.

I cut the piece of DSP to 4 X 5 1/4.  Then cut the 5 1/4 to 4 X 2 3/8 and 4 X 2 7/8.  This allows it to appear to be a solid piece from the front.  By adhering the bottom section to the “door” with the DSP flush with the top of the door and equals distance on the other three sides.  Then do the same on the inside of the card.  Except have the door closed and place the DSP flush with the top of the door.

More inspiration awaits, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the team. The Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Then, please mark your calendars for our next blog hop on February 9th. Our theme will be Birthday Bash when our team creates birthday projects to celebrate our family and friends.

Until then, have fun in your craft space.

Sympathy

Sympathy cards are unfortunately necessary.  Blessings of Home fit the need of necessity and still quite pretty.

Stampin' Up!, Blessing of Home, Peaceful Moments, Jackie Beers

Stamp sets

The sweet sentiment I chose is from the Peaceful Moments stamp set.  This set has great “caring” type sentiments.  I paired this with a subtle, but pretty, flower from the Blessings Of Home stamp set.  To have the flower appear softer than usual, I used Petal Pink Light Stampin’ Blends to create a squiggled background.  Then stamped the flower with Smoky Slate for a softer outline.  To continue the soft, I colored only the leaves with Light Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blend.  The Pale Papaya shows through for the flower petals.

Colors

The cardstock colors were chosen from the flower colors.  I went with the Smoky Slate card base with a Soft Sea Foam layer.  The light green helps the leaves to show off a bit more.  On cards with this type layout, the sentiment is not normally the star.  But I wanted it to be on this one.  So it is stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black for a brighter appearance.  The card is finished with a scattering of small Pearls.

Family

The title of today’s post is Family.  This comes from the adorable Honeybee Home stamp set paired with the Heart & Home DSP.  A beautiful pair!

Stampin' Up!, Honeybee Home, Heart & Home, Pale Papaya, Garden Green, Hippo & Friends, Jackie Beers

Stamp Set and Dies

I did use a stamp set and a die set, but they are not a pair.  However, the two work perfectly together.  The sentiment and flower stamp are from the Honeybee Home stamp set.  For the great design of the sentiment layer, I went to the Hippo & Friends Die set.  These are an awesome mix of layering dies that are in addition to the hippo and his friends.  I think they are must have for your layering die needs!

Paper and Colors

As is usually the case with me picking colors, I chose from the gorgeous DSP.  Today I used the Heart & Home Designer Series Paper.  I love the soft colors in the top layer of DSP, and how the green layer compliments it perfectly.  All of the paper and stamping colors come from the top DSP layer.

To tie all of the layers and colors together, I chose just a wrap around of the Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon.  It grounds the sentiment layer.  And to help that layer stand out just a bit, I used the Fresh Freesia Stampin’ Write Marker to go around the edges.  There is the smallest of an embossed ledge around the layer.  By running the side of the marker around a couple of times, it goes onto that little ledge and adds a bit of a divider between the layer and the DSP.  I finished with a trio of the 2021-2023 In Color Jewels.

Birthday Crane

I am very much enjoying breaking out the new stamps from the Mini and Sale-A-Bration Catalogs.  Today’s project is created using the Crane of Fortune, and a bit of imagination.

Stampin' Up!, Crane of Fortune, Happy & Heartfelt, Label Me Fancy, Cotton Ribbon Combo, Jackie Beers

Stamps

The star of this card is the beautiful Crane, and maybe the flowers.  They both have awesome detail that I love from the Stampin’ Up! design team.  The flowers are stamped first and then partially masked to get the greenery added around it.  To give just a bit more detail for the crane, he is stamped and die cut using the matching dies.  He is then adhered flat but it is enough of a raise that you can tell.

To finish the card the All Day Your Way was chosen.  This stamp is included in the Happy & Heartfelt stamp set.  The set is all sentiments and are made with this fun font.  That was a must have for me!

Paper , etc.

The card base is Just Jade with a layer of Smoky Slate.   Cranes tend to be either gray or white, so he is stamped with Smoky Slate.  Just Jade was used for the greenery and Petal Pink for the pretty flowers.  The sentiment is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and punched using the Label Me Fancy Punch.

For a bit of a change, I layered some of the Cotton Ribbon Combo ribbon behind the sentiment layer.  There are several of the 2021-2023 In Color Jewels spread around also.  The ones in the greenery are very difficult to see in the photo.  It appears they blend very well.

Hey There!

I have another quick and easy card for you today.  This one is all in the stamped image!  Can you say “Oh My”?

Stampin' Up!, Amazing Silhouettes, Artfully Layered, Jackie Beers

Paper and Color

This card layout is the same as yesterday’s card.  My go to layout for multiples or quick and easy is White on White with a raised top White layer.  First, it is very quick to do, and most everyone has White cardstock.  The bit of Pop comes from the color of the images.  I went with Just Jade for the tree and Misty Moonlight for the sentiment.

Stamp Sets

The star of this card is that amazing tree image.  It is from the Amazing Silhouettes stamp set.  There are three different images and all are as equally stunning as this tree.  The definition and shading are just a WOW!  To keep the simple theme going, I went with just a sweet sentiment that would work for most any occasion.  It is from the Artfully Layered stamp set.  You know I am crazy about great fonts and the ones in this stamp set fit the bill perfectly.

Sale-A-Bration is the Best Time of Year!!

Thank You

It’s a New Catalog Debut today with Stampin’ Up!  The January – June 2022 Mini Catalog is Live now.  And to sweeten the deal,  It is also Sale-A-Bration time once again.  That is the best time of year.  Stampin’ Up! always has great Join promotions for the SAB events.  For this SAB it is 2 FREE stamp sets from any live catalog!  This is Amazing!!!!

My card for you today is a Thank You card made with one of the new sets in the Mini Catalog.  I always say that I do not need another flower. LOL!!!!  This one is awesome.

Stampin' Up!, Flowing Flowers, Gorgeous Leaves, Pale Papaya, Calypso Coral, Jackie Beers

Flowing Flowers

This flower is so delicate looking I believe.  And the detail from the built in shading and definition is perfect.  I also LOVE the font in the sentiment.  All of the sentiments in this set are similar.  It is so Now in that style.  Plus this set is a perfect way to make a quick card or multiples.  This is my last month customer Thank You card and were really easy to make.  The only item not from the stamp set is the splatter, which is from the Gorgeous Leaves set.

Paper and Color

For quick and easy, I went with White on White for the card style.  Just the addition of a few dimensionals really makes it look special.  To get a soft look from the flower, I went with a Pale Papaya background splatter.  Then added Calypso Coral for the flower itself.  My go to color for a sentiment, when not using Black, is Smoky Slate.  I love how these colors are all fairly soft looking.

January Snowflakes

January snowflakes with a supple shimmer. Sparkle and bling create beautiful snowflakes that are neither cold or wet!

Today’s project is a mix of Old, New and Retiring products.  This project is for the Make My Monday Challenge where I am on the Design Team.  This challenge is simply Snowflakes!

Stampin' Up!, Merry Snowflakes, Stitched Rectangle, Supple Shimmer, Rhinestones, Merry Melody, Jackie Beers

I mentioned above that this is the Make My Monday Challenge.  You are welcome to play along.  And you can visit the website by clicking on the icon below.

Retiring Products

As I said, I have a mix of going away, coming in, and current products in this card.  The Retiring Products are the Snowflakes and sentiment.  They are from the Merry Snowflakes Bundle.  It is all in the details as they say.  And these snowflakes have detail galore!  Also they cut beautifully even with the glitter paper!

The Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder is from the Mini Catalog which expires at the end of today also.  It is going to carryover however.  That is awesome because it gives great detail to a card.  And since I have Zero Musical ability, it is a way for me to add some.LOL!!

New Products

The gorgeous Supple Shimmer Specialty Paper is coming in the January-June Mini Catalog which debuts tomorrow.  (If you have seen the paper in a catalog, the shimmery white/pool party color is shown as a blue in the catalog photos.  This is the real color of it.)  I love that there are two different colors of the shimmer paper.  And as you can see, it cut wonderfully using the snowflakes dies.  That is a definite Win!

Current Products

I used Blushing Bride as the card base to match the pink of the Shimmer paper.  It is paired with Pool Party, which pulls the blue of the second shimmer paper.   To also go along the pink theme, I used Polished Pink ink to stamp the sentiment.

The sentiment is die cut using the Rectangle Stitched Dies.  These are a staple to my die collection as they fit most any stamp with one die or the other.  There are quite a few in the set.  And for the last touch of bling, I added a variety of sizes of Rhinestones.  You just cannot have too much bling with snowflakes.  They are a jewel all by themselves.

Before I go,  I want to say I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday!  I had an unexpected physical issue and have been missing in action since mid December.  No Christmas cards went out, no posts, etc.  I haven’t even delivered some gifts!  But all is well, or getting there.

That said, I wanted to offer you one more chance at my Product Shares.  I will place the order tomorrow….So today is the last chance.  If you reach out and can pay with Paypal, or are local, I can get you added to the list.  Click on my SHOP at the menu bar and then Product Shares.  There is a form to complete which will notify me.

December InKing Royalty Blog Hop

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s December Blog Hop! During this year’s blog hops, we are having fun with our stamping favorites – our favorite themes for seasonal cards and projects. This month’s projects are all about party fun – festive gatherings like New Year’s, birthdays and other fun times. How fun! We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

I do not normally make a New Years card.  This time there was an idea in my head that I had to put to paper.  And this card was the result.

Stampin' Up!, Word Wishes, Stitched Stars, Gold Metallic, Silver foil, pop up, Jackie Beers

Front Dies

The front of the card is a mix of Silver and Gold which I love.  Plus I am totally in love with the Word Wishes Dies!  They are awesome.  All I had to do is add a piece of adhesive sheet to Basic Black cardstock, add the dies, and run through the Cut & Emboss machine.  It is like magic.

The stars are all from the Stitched Stars dies.  There are such unique designs, as well as a great mixture of sizes in this die set.  I love the mix of size and colors. And of course Basic Black goes with everything!

Inside Dies and stamp

I designed the card around the idea for the inside.  And I am thrilled that it turned out just as I envisioned it.  Early last week  I made a Pop Up gift card holder.  I shared it with The Paper Pixie and she made the Pop Up section one piece instead of two.  Her version is what I used that idea to hold my swirl of gold stars.  This piece is also sized down a bit since it only needed to hold the two little pieces.

My choice for the DSP is from the Neutrals 2021-2022 6 X 6 paper stack.  I used the Smoky Slate piece to pair with the silver.  What you see of the two stand up Gold pieces are actually one die cut that is cut in half.  And the extra stars are what was popped out of the die cut piece.  No waste here!!

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop, Brian King at Stamp With Brian.  There’s lots of inspiration to be found in this group – and you don’t want to miss it!

Corner Fold Card

Before I get to today’s project, I wanted to let you all know that I am doing a Product Share from the upcoming January – June Mini Catalog.  Last catalog I only did the paper.  This time I am  doing Ribbon shares as well.  You can email me if you have questions, or would like to order.

Now for today’s project!  This is a Corner Fold card that I have cased from The Paper Pixie.  Julie did a video on it that is great, as she always is.

Stampin' Up!, Tidings & Trimmings, Painted Christmas, Gold metallic, Jackie Beers

Stamps and Dies

The stamping and die cut star are from the Tidings & Trimmings Bundle of products.  I am in love with the star!  It looks so delicate and elegant.  Both of the stars are included in the bundle.  For the background of the stars, I repeatedly stamped the image from the Tidings & Trimmings stamp set.  This card is actually a quick and easy one to do.

Paper

I used the stamped image to mimic the berries in the DSP.  This piece of Designer Series Paper is from the Painted Christmas DSP.  The pop of red goes great against the Evening Evergreen, except it is actually Poppy Parade instead of Red. LOL!!   The Soft Succulent background star is pulled from the paper as well.  The intricate star is cut from the Gold Metallic paper.  This is a two pack of Gold and Rose Metallic papers.  To make for ease in adhering the intricate cuts, I added the Adhesive Sheet to the Gold prior to die cutting.  The adhesive sheet turns the die cut image into a sticker.

Directions

As I mentioned above, I cased this from The Paper Pixie.  Here is a link to her video. Click Here
