Today is my final, at least this week’s worth, of Silly Old Bear cards. This one is a little different in that it is sort of a mish mash of pieces I had Die cut. When I ran across the sentiment however, I decided they actually would work well together.
My group of friends here have different interests, but are still hanging out together. I love this.
Papers
There are still the Die cut animals from the Silly Old Bear Designer Series Paper and a second piece of unexpected DSP. The pink checked layer is from the Silly Old Bear DSP as well. I was pleasantly surprised to find something a bit different of the other sheets. It is paired with the Hydrangea Hue cardstock as I love this color and have paired it in part with a few of the previous cards this week.
Stamps & Dies
The Dies used are from the Sweet Old Friends Dies. I have so enjoyed simply cutting the animals from the DSP. This is something that Stampin’ Up! is so creative and smart to do on occasion. And the sentiment is from the Sweet Words & Labels stamp set. I have mentioned this each card I have posted, but these are such sweet sentiments. I stamped all of them on a sheet of Basic White cardstock. Some I have cut out using the matching Die Set, and others, like this I just hand cut. This one is a bit of a fussy cut where I went around the ends not with a straight cut to make it a little smaller.
Extras
There are two Extras today and one is a special one! I have not “drawn” on a card in forever it seems. I saw someone else on a reel outlining something and did one of the hand to the forehead slaps. Like why have I stopped doing that. This card seemed a perfect time to add just another touch of whimsy. My tool for this is the Stampin’ Up! .04 Journaling Pen. It is in the current catalog, or you can find it in the online store easily. After deciding I wanted simple, so hopefully I would not mess up!, I simply drew little dashes. They are not all the same length and I did not try to make them the same. When finished I really like it. It is a different technique to frame all of my individual pieces this card contains. I hope you will give this technique a try.
The other Extra is a single 2026-2028 Butterfly. One of these was added to a previous card with the honey and the bear. Since some of the honey pots had fallen down, I thought the butterfly might be interested in more honey. LOL!

This is day 2 of my Silly Old Bear infatuation tour. I hope you do not get bored with me. If nothing else, I have different layouts for each day to give you ideas. Today’s card is one that could be interpreted in a few different ways. Tell me what it means to you.
Papers
The comment I made yesterday is that it is all about the paper, and that is still true. That is the theme for this week’s worth of cards. The paper in question is the Silly Old Bear Designer Series Paper. One of the sheets has a variety of scenes that can be cut apart. I have used these scenes on all but one of the cards I created. For today’s scene, I tore around the edges of this one and then used a Blending Brush with Golden Glow Ink to “age” the freshly torn edges.
The Owl is Die cut from a different piece of the DSP. He fit perfectly on this card with the smaller owl flying in towards the doorway. Mr. Owl is the only part that I have raised using Stampin’ Dimensionals. All of the other cardstock colors are pulled from the DSP scene. The base is Cherry Cobbler with the layer of Peaceful Pine.
Stamps and Dies
The owl being Die cut was mentioned above. He was cut using the Sweet Old Friends Die set. I could have stamped him using the matching stamp set and then cut, but the paper had a beautifully completed owl which was much simpler to use.
The sentiment and layer are from the Sweet Words & Labels Dies. You might be able to see that I also used the Blending Brush and Golden Glow Ink to “age” the sentiment as well. I also cut off one end so that it appears to end at the side of the card. There really was not quite enough room to have the entire layer there. And I like this look. These are also part of the Suite of products. I do love the fun shapes of these Dies. The sentiments are wonderful as well and you will see the majority of them on the cards I have to share this week.
Extras
The Extras today are simple ones. To ground everything I added a length of Peaceful Pine Ribbon around the cardstock and the scene. Then to continue with the Peaceful Pine, I added a single one of the 2026-2028 In Color Dots in Peaceful Pine to the sentiment. This card has a little of a masculine feel with the darker colors and “aged” look to the papers. It was a bit unexpected but I do like the outcome.

I have another of the Love Notes cards to share today. This is the last of the Valentine, or any occasion, card. These were so easy and fun to make. I hope you will consider this paper as a Go To for a quick, sweet card.
Polka Dot Love
The Love Notes Designer Series Paper is all of this card. I have used multiple parts of the pack. The polka dot larger layer has the lovely floral arrangement pre done on it. Then I added the two strips to the left. The checked strip was shown in the last post along with the purple. And of course these adorable heart flowers on the far left strip. How fun is that!! Even the sentiment is from the paper. I simply used the Paper Trimmer to cut it out and slid it over to the right edge. A few cuts and some glue is all that was needed. I did add Cherry Cobbler as the card base on this one.
Extras
This called for very little Extras as it has the variety of patterns of paper. But of course it still received two Extras. The bow is from the Garden Green Chevron Ribbon. The thin ribbon makes for an easy ribbon to work with. And of course Bling is a must. I still consider green a Bling. These are from the Moody Palette Glossy Dots. I really love these. They are flat and with enough shine to stand out.

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! I hope you have shared at least one of your hand made card filled with love. I think all of our hand made cards are filled with love personally. But today is a special one. I looked for a set that maybe would not scream Valentine’s Day. And I believe I found it for today’s card.
STAMPS
The stamp set I found to spread love is the Sending Love stamp set. I only used the stamps with no Dies. And all of the stamps used are from this one set. The mail box is the main aspect and is not exactly colored traditionally! All of the coloring is done using Stampin’ Blends. I used Smoky Slate for the post but topped it with Highland Heather. And added Granny Apple Green for the mail box itself. I know this would not fly in most communities, but it can work in this card’s world.
To add the sentiment was a question for me. I knew I would have to cut it as this is one long sentiment. It really would not look proper being larger than the focal panel. There was this scrap of Peach Pie on my desk and the answer presented itself. I stamped on the Peach Pie and then simply cut the sentiment in half. This brought out yet another color of the DSP in a fun way. Plus pairs perfectly with the mail box theme.
PAPERS
These sheets of DSP are both from the Toadstool Garden Designer Series Paper. This is a Free 6X6 paper pack in Sale-A-Bration. With a qualifying order this is one of the products you can choose. SAB goes through the end of the month so you still have time to get some of the freebies!
I pulled all of the colors from the toadstool sheet of DSP. The Peach Pie was a surprise addition but I love how it helps those mushrooms to pop. The card base is Granny Apple Green. That striped sheet is a mix of Fresh Freesia and Highland Heather. Those are the colors I tried to add in to the mailbox panel.
EXTRAS
The trio of shimmer gems are all from the 2024-2026 In Color Shimmer Gems. I used different shades of the pink/purple and then a Peach Pie one as well. This is a more whimsical card where it does not require elegant bling!
LAYERS
The card base measures 4 1/4 X 11 and is scored at 5 1/2. The two DSP strips are 2 1/2 X 5 1/8 for the left side and 2 X 5 for the right side. For the focal layer there is a thin layer of Granny Apple that measures 2 3/4 X 4 3/8 with the Basic White layer being 2 3/8 X 4 1/4.

Making cards can be fun and challenging! Occasionally it takes a paper a little while to speak to me. This Rustic Harvest finally spoke out!
Papers
The star of this card is this piece from the Rustic Harvest Designer Series paper. This pack of papers is beautiful and has great colors, but this one was a bit more difficult. It was the yellow pumpkins and gourds that were stalling me in deciding which direction to go. Finally my little brain picked up on the gorgeous leaves. And the card was finished! Well, almost finished. By using the Merry Merlot, which is a color I rarely use, it brought the leaves out from that dark background. Of course the larger layer of Basic White helped with that.
Stamps
The Hello Harvest Bundle, Hello Harvest stamps and Rustic Pumpkin Dies, is a match for this DSP. But after finally getting the paper idea worked out, I did not want to cover it up! The banner sentiment is a stamp with a matching die. So using Mossy Meadow Ink and then die cutting the banner I was almost finished. There was quite a lot of debate about a background layer for the banner. But finally I decided it could stand alone. However, I did notice the small leaf stamp and matching die. So I used Merry Merlot Ink and added the little die cut leaf to the top edge of the card. With that leaf and a few of the Brushed Metallic Dots placed around, I declared it good to go.
Thank you for looking today!

Sympathy cards are unfortunately necessary. Blessings of Home fit the need of necessity and still quite pretty.
Stamp sets
The sweet sentiment I chose is from the Peaceful Moments stamp set. This set has great “caring” type sentiments. I paired this with a subtle, but pretty, flower from the Blessings Of Home stamp set. To have the flower appear softer than usual, I used Petal Pink Light Stampin’ Blends to create a squiggled background. Then stamped the flower with Smoky Slate for a softer outline. To continue the soft, I colored only the leaves with Light Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blend. The Pale Papaya shows through for the flower petals.
Colors
The cardstock colors were chosen from the flower colors. I went with the Smoky Slate card base with a Soft Sea Foam layer. The light green helps the leaves to show off a bit more. On cards with this type layout, the sentiment is not normally the star. But I wanted it to be on this one. So it is stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black for a brighter appearance. The card is finished with a scattering of small Pearls.
