Polka Dots & Checks

I have another of the Love Notes cards to share today. This is the last of the Valentine, or any occasion, card. These were so easy and fun to make. I hope you will consider this paper as a Go To for a quick, sweet card.

Polka Dot Love

The Love Notes Designer Series Paper is all of this card. I have used multiple parts of the pack. The polka dot larger layer has the lovely floral arrangement pre done on it. Then I added the two strips to the left. The checked strip was shown in the last post along with the purple. And of course these adorable heart flowers on the far left strip. How fun is that!! Even the sentiment is from the paper. I simply used the Paper Trimmer to cut it out and slid it over to the right edge. A few cuts and some glue is all that was needed. I did add Cherry Cobbler as the card base on this one.

Extras

This called for very little Extras as it has the variety of patterns of paper. But of course it still received two Extras. The bow is from the Garden Green Chevron Ribbon. The thin ribbon makes for an easy ribbon to work with. And of course Bling is a must. I still consider green a Bling. These are from the Moody Palette Glossy Dots. I really love these. They are flat and with enough shine to stand out.

Special Valentine Love

I am continuing my group of cards made with the Love Notes Designer Series Paper. It is such a fun paper and makes cards in a snap. Today’s is EX-tra Fun I think.

Love Notes in a Cup

All of the papers, with the exception of the card base and layer, are the Love Notes DSP. As I have said several times, this paper is so much fun to use. It is like “what can I pair together next?”. Personally I was overjoyed when I saw these purple layers. Purple, along with orange, are my favorite colors. So this was meant to be.

The purple polka dot layer is so cute with the faded look going on. And the strip of plaid is the reverse of another sheet of the DSP I had trimmed. It matches the heart on the cup. And the two are what gave me the Flirty Flamingo as the card base and layer.

Extras

This is maybe the simplest of all of the Love Notes cards I have made. So there is only one extra today. But it is also a favorite that I am so happy is still an active product. It is the Purple Shimmer Gems. These are so pretty as they come in a variety of purples. Almost like the polka dot DSP, there are different shades of purple. They are a great embellishment to have on hand.

Love Notes

The Love Notes 6 X 6 Mix and Match Designer Series Paper is one that I had totally overlooked. My upline, Brian King, shared some cards he had made by cutting this paper apart. Oh My!! I was sold. And then it was out of stock of course. But I hopped on it when it was available again. And it is still available.

I will be sharing the cards I created with this paper in the next couple of posts. Today’s is the first one. They are all very simple to do but fabulous for quick Valentine Cards. Here is the first one.

Quick and Easy

That is the title for all of these cards. The DSP pieces are so cute that they can stand alone almost. This one I did layer on a piece of Basic White. Even the strip of hearts is from this paper. It was a cut off piece that just fit perfectly as a strip of love. The best part is there is no stamping involved until you get to the inside for my sentiment.

Extras

The card is so simple, and I apologize for continuing to say that, it only required a bit of DSP and an embellishment. The card base is Real Red and has the layer of Basic White. For the bling I used a trio of White Moody Palette Glossy Dots. These are in a few different colors and small. And that is the card!

Hearts and Love

Apologies everyone. I have been busy and am out of the routine of posting. UGH!! However, I do have a pretty card to share with you. This is a mix of products that could be to show love to anyone, a wedding, or for upcoming Valentine’s Day. I was really happy how it turned out.

Endless Love Bundle

There are several “hearts” on this one. For me the die cut hearts are the best. Thee are from the Endless Love Bundle. The center of the large heart was not wasted. It is on the inside of the card. You can see it, along with the sentiment from the bundle. This wonderful paper is from the Regal Distressed Designer Series Paper. I think this paper is so pretty and was thrilled when I checked to make sure it was still avaialble.

Fun Fold

To continue the fun, I also made this one as a bookfold. Fun Folds are always the best. And when they are easy, that is the top of the line for me. To make a bookfold is so easy. Cut a piece of cardstock to 4 1/4 X 11 and score at 4 1/2 and 5 1/2. Then adhere the area between the two scores lines to the back of the card. You can see that in the first photo easier I believe. When I wrapped my ribbon, it is adhered between the layers.

Vellum

The second star of the card is the embossed vellum. Vellum is great for a die cut layer but can be a bit tricky when embossing. You may be able to see the couple of tiny tears on edges where there was a heart. For me this is not a problem at all. I love the special look it gives and after all it is a handmade card. This wonderful embossing folder is one I have used previously. It is the Hearts of Love 3D Embossing Folder. I need to say that vellum is difficult to adhere without the adhesive showing through. I have the most amount of adhesive behind the heart. Then I added light touches of multi purpose glue on the corners using a small brush. Put the glue on your silicone mat and then pick it up with the brush.

Extras

There are only two extras today. The first is the pretty ribbon. This is the Gold and White Ribbon. I love the flecks of gold throughout. Of course this has it matching the gold in the DSP as well as a special look for this Valentine card. The second extra is a retired product. But I have several packages of the Heart Sequins. If you loved them as much as I do/did, then you may have some left as well. If not, any gold embellishment would easily replace them.

Encircled With Love

My card I have to share today is made from the same template as yesterday. I wanted to show you how different the same base can appear. Having a simple Go To template can be a lifesaver when we need a quick card. Quick does not mean it is not a wonderful card.

Encircled With Love stamp set

The sweet sentiment I chose for this card is one that I love. It is simple, sweet, and says you care about the recipient. To go along with my Valentine idea card, I stamped using Real Red Ink. The hearts in the paper are Real Red, Strawberry Slush and Bubble Bath. This stamp set, Encircled With Love, is in the Annual Catalog in the DVD style case. Now Stampin’ Up! has issued it in the new style cases as well. If you choose the new style, be aware that it is a different product number. The new style case number is 169090.

Made With Love Designer Series Paper

These strips are the same as yesterday’s card and measure 1 X 5. This time I placed the card in landscape layout and used two different patterns from this fun DSP. To center the strips I used my grid paper to place the center one and then came in from each side. I thought I would make a simpler one and leave off the layer behind the strips.

Extras

To create the focal layer I used the 1 3/4′ and 2″ Circle Punches. The 2″ is Strawberry Slush with the stamped image cut with the 1 3/4″. I love circles for a clean and simple card. To add a bit more texture I also used the Bubble Bath Faux Linen Ribbon as I did yesterday. Instead of a small neat bow I went with a large and looser bow behind the sentiment layer. And for my bling Rhinestones were called in. The sentiment has three little star shapes. So a trio of rhinestones, one on each star, seemed the perfect fit.

Hugs!

I am a person who loves Hugs. When the Endless Love Bundle arrived, I knew I would be using the Hugs & Kisses stamp quite often. Today I have used it in conjunction with a sketch challenge my upline Brian King did for our Team meeting. It is a simple one that can be used over and over.

The Sketch

The three vertical stripes with two angled rectangles was the original sketch from Brian. Each strip is 1 X 5. I layered my strips on a piece of Strawberry Slush cardstock. Then added it to the Flirty Flamingo base. All of my color choices are from the DSP. However I went with hearts in place of the rectangles. That is what makes this sketch so versatile. A simple change and it looks totally different.

Made With Love Designer Series Paper

The Made With Love DSP is so fun. It has the prerequisite of hearts in several different patterns. But they are not mushy or child like. I do love the different shades of red and pink. This piece has Real Red and Bubble Bath in the hearts.

Focal Layers

In place of the rectangles Brian shared on his card, I used two die cut hearts. Then I added the fabulously detailed arrow. It is almost like a texture and bling mixed together. I fell in love with it as soon as it was cut.

The sentiment is of course the one I love. It and the dies are from the Endless Love Bundle. And the little stamped hearts are from the set as well. They offered a softer background than the plain white would have been.

Finishes

There is bling and more texture to tie all of my pieces together. I added a bow using the Bubble Bath Faux Linen Ribbon. Attaching it to the arrow made the arrow even more bold. For bling I used a single large size of the Sparkle Dot Essentials. This is a multi color and varying sizes of almost flat bling. That is the perfect kind!
