Scare Up Some Fun

I have broken out the Halloween set today.  I am not a “scary” Halloween type, so I chose the Trick or Tweet stamp set from the Holiday Catalog.  It contains CUTE characters for Halloween.  The catalog goes live on September 5th!   You do not have too much longer to wait.  Hopefully you have already seen the catalog and have a long Wish List made out.  Here is my cute and fairly bright card.

Trick or Tweet, 147722

Do you recognize the Designer Series Paper I have used?  If you guessed “Best Route”, then you are correct.  I have used this paper for everything but the travel it is inspired by.  This is one of the reverse sides and I believe it fits perfectly with the Fall/Halloween time of year.

The sparkly black ribbon is one of my favorites in the new Halloween products.  There are sparkles in the ribbon.  They even show in the photograph a little bit.  It also makes a beautiful bow, but I did not think my little mummy cat needed a bow.  I just looped it back and forth behind the layer.  It might be a tad difficult to mail due to the thickness.  It would not add weight though.

The cat is my favorite animal from the set.  I gave his mummy wrappings a little sparkle as well.  I used the Clear Wink of Stella on all of the wrapping.  And what little mummy cat could go trick or treating without his pumpkin for the candy!  This is included in the set.  I stamped it on scrap Whisper White and fussy cut it out, then used a mini dimensional to popped it up a bit.  No real extra time and it does add a little pop to the card.

Thank you for visiting today!  I very much appreciate it.  I have listed all of the supplies used at the bottom of the post.

Treat Yourself Giftcard Holder

I love the cute matchbook type note holders and treat holders.  So I had a thought the other day for a gift card holder made along those lines.  I remembered a card from a few years ago that the bottom was folded up and stapled to look like a matchbook.  After some playing around, this is what I came up with.

Picture Perfect Birthday, 145519

The DSP is one of those sleeper pieces that is a reverse side from the Tea Room Specialty Designer Series Paper.  I much prefer the brighter colors and this is right up my crazy alley!  The perfect stamp for a gift card holder is this “Treat Yourself” from Picture Perfect Birthday.  And anyone would love the little blow pipes.  A note on the blow pipes:  I “stamped off” first with Coastal Cabana and Daffodil Delight for the background of each pipe.

My answer to the matchbook bottom for the card was instead of stapling the folded up bottom section, I used Tear & Tape to secure it.  I then decorated with DSP and added a couple of sequins for some bling.  And here is the inside for the gift card.

The bottom of the Whisper White inside piece is folded up to make the pocket for the gift card.  There is room beneath the gift card itself for you to write your well wishes and sign the card.  This did not totally come out as I had envisioned, but that is not really uncommon either! 🙂

I have all of the measurements listed below, along with some directions or suggestions.  I hope you will give this one a try.  It really is quite simple.

Thank you once again for stopping by today!  I appreciate it and hope you will return.

MEASUREMENTS:

  • The card base is 4 1/4 X 11, scored at 3/4 and 6 1/8
  • The Daffodil Delight is 4 X 4 3/8 and 4 X 5/8
  • The DSP is 3 7/8 X 4 1/4  and 3 7/8 X 1/2
  • The inside White piece is 4 X 5 1/4, scored at 1 on the long side
  • On the base card for the folded up area, place Tear & Tape along the fold, leaving the top part loose.  This allows the top flap to fold under it.
  • On the inside gift card holder, fold on the score line and place Tear & Tape against the outside edge on each side.  This leaves just enough room for the gift card. NOTE:  Place a gift card or business card inside the flap as you are securing the sides.  This ensures there is sufficient room and the gift card will slide in and out fairly easily without stressing the tape.

Merry Christmas

This is the last card I have for you from the Blended Seasons Bundle.  This super set and absolutely awesome dies will be waving goodbye tomorrow at midnight.  It is very sad, but I may not let my set go because I do really love these dies.

Blended Seasons Bundle, 149894

This card is actually very simple.  I die cut the two layers using the Blended dies and stamped the Merry Christmas on the white panel.  The bell is part of the set.  I stamped and die cut it, then colored it with the Stampin’ Blends.

The DSP is gorgeous and I hated to cover it up.  Because of the boldness of the paper, I think it works well with the more simple layer of sentiment.  As I layed out the pieces before putting it all together, it reminded me of a gift wrapped package.  That is where the little strips of Old Olive came from.  Another reason to never throw away your little cut off pieces!

Thank you for visiting again today!  I greatly appreciate you checking my blog and I hope you will leave me comments when you like something I have made.  The complete supply list is at the bottom of the post.

Wild About You

I have a cute and whimsical card for you today. I have used the Animal Outing stamp set a few times already and just adore it.  But today I have added the Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper to compliment the sentiment from the stamp set.

Animal Outing, 146600

I paired some bright colors for this card.  Truthfully though, they all came from the designer paper.  That is one of the many things I love about Stampin’ Up! and their designer paper.  The paper is so adorable and it takes you out of your normal comfort zone in terms of color.

COLOR COMBINATION:

The only stamping is for the sentiment.  I just like the alligator and the little bird taking the center stage with the sentiment playing along with their silliness.  To give the sentiment a grounding point I pulled the Poppy Parade from the top and left hand birds.  I had to stop myself from trying to add something else onto the banner.  It was really hard to just leave it blank. LOL!!

Thank you for visiting today!  I hope you will return tomorrow for the last of my Blended Seasons cards.  If you have not grabbed up this bundle yet, it is almost gone.  Friday is the last day to order it.  Also, the Bonus Days Coupon goes away on Friday too.  For every $50.00 of merchandise you get a 5.00 coupon to use in September.

MEASUREMENTS:

  • The base card is 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 folded in half
  • The first layer is 5 1/4 X 4
  • The DSP layer is 5 1/8 X 3 7/8
  • The banner is 1 1/2 X 3 before being punched.

High Tide

I mentioned yesterday I was going to be using the negative of the die cut from that card.  One of the awesome parts about the dies from the Blended Seasons Bundle, called Stitched Seasons dies, is that it leaves stitching on the negative as well.  I have always utilized negatives of the Stampin’ Up! cutouts.  You can raise the layer for a shaker card, sponge a beautiful background with the shape of the die, etc.  But none before left stitching on the negative.  Now we have that!

The stitching shows up better than I thought it would in the photograph.  I think the stitching gives the “frame” an added WOW.  And again…..the Bundle or just these dies are only available through Friday.

I chose to make a lighthouse scene through my frame or mat  using the High Tide stamp set.  Another one I was so happy to see carried over to the new catalog.   My trip down the Oregon coast was filled with checking out all of the lighthouses.  I may have to frame one of my pictures like this.

I used a little creative license on the lighthouse color.  Most we saw on the trip were white or white and red.  But since I had the Mango Melody frame, I thought red would clash just a bit….or a lot!  For the water and the light from the lighthouse I stamped off the Coastal Cabana and Balmy Blue.  They were a tad too bright and this made them just right.  The sentiment is from the new Many  Blessings stamp set in the Holiday Catalog.

Thank you once again for stopping by to see what I have made.  I very much appreciate it and love to hear from you.  The supplies I used are all listed at the bottom of the page.

Friend

I am showcasing the Blended Seasons Bundle for you today.  Time is running out for this awesome set of stamps and die cuts.  The shaped dies are fabulous!  I have another card tomorrow using the negative of the die I have used today.

Blended Seasons Bundle, 149894

I have been using the Mango Melody and Granny Apple Green colors quite a lot lately.  But I am not going to apologize for that!!  I have always used more Bright colors than any of the others and these two are my new favorites.  I think they pair very well for the Fall leaves.

The DSP is from the Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper, and it matches the texture of the Granny Apple Green Textured Weave Ribbon quite well.   My plan was to run the ribbon between the two die shapes so it could be seen more.  Of course I forgot my plan, and attached it as normal.

Thank you for visiting today.  As I said in the beginning, tomorrow’s card is using the negative of the die cut out, so please come back.  Remember that this Bundle is only available through Friday!!  And coincidently the Bonus days coupons run out on Friday also.  Hint: The Bundle itself will get you one of the coupons!!

Thankful For You

I inked up my Bokeh Dots stamp for the first time.  I have read where some people had difficulty getting a good impression.  I used the Stamparatus and a sponge brayer to allow me to ink it extra times if necessary.  I noticed as I did this that it went from very light and not really clear dots to pretty vibrant.  I believe either look would be good.  I wanted to show the dots fairly well, so I inked it several times.  After all of that I was very happy with the outcome.  Then I totally changed the direction I was headed with the card! LOL!  And ended up with this.

Stampin' Up!, Bokeh Dots, Many Blessings, Nature's Poem, Jackie Beers

Bokeh Dots, 148113

I know that the Bokeh is an unexpected background, and color for that matter, to go with a harvest set, but that is where I ended up.

the sentiment and the harvest crate is from the Million Dollar set Many Blessings stamp set in the upcoming Holiday Catalog.  The gorgeous DSP is Nature’s Poem.  I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with a variety of Stampin’ Blends.  It really was a fairly quick and easy card to create.  That is if you do not change your mind mid card!

Thank you for visiting today.  I hope you have an awesome weekend and will come back on Monday to see what is new.  REMEMBER that Bonus Days are running out!  There is only one more week to earn $5.00 on a $50.00 order.  Also the Blended Seasons stamp set will go away next Friday as well.

Tin Tiles

I am back with another of the Country Home cards.  I cannot get enough of these stamps.  It reminds me that Fall is not far away.  Although, the stamps in the set could be year round comfort type stamping.  I like that better than “country” !

Stampin' Up!, Country Home, Tin Tiles, Jackie Beers

Tin Tiles Embossing Folder, 147906

I know you can not miss how AWESOME the Tin Tiles Dynamic Embossing Folder is!!  Just WOW!!!  I embossed the Galvanized Metal Paper with the Tin Tiles folder and it truly looks like the old, now back in style, tin tiles.  This definitely takes center stage.

The gorgeous DSP is a reverse side of the Country Lane Designer Series Paper.  I am growing more fond of the Blackberry Bliss every day.  It is paired with the Gray Granite card stock to match the Tin.  I stamped the milk can and flowers in the Gray Granite as well and colored them with the Stampin’ Blends.

Thank you for stopping by today for my 4th Country Home card.  You can see the Monday – Wednesday ones by clicking on the Gallery Tab at the top of the page.  I appreciate you checking my posts.  I have listed all of the supplies used at the bottom of the page.

So Grateful

I have not totally gotten away from the awesome new stamp set Country Home. But….I have only used the sentiment today.  This card is focusing on the absolutely fabulous Frosted Floral Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Just Wow!  And yes, I know I say that all the time.  I would apologize, but it is so TRUE!  This current catalog and the upcoming Holiday catalog are just full of gorgeous designer series paper.  So here is today’s card.

Stampin' Up!, Frosted Floral, Country Home, Cajun Craze, Mossy Meadow, Jackie Beers

Frosted Floral DSP, 147800

I know it does not show in the photograph, but the paper is pearlized and has a soft shimmer all over it.  My first layout covered a lot of the DSP.  I could not bring myself to do that!  So I changed everything and only added a sentiment and some of the Copper Trim ribbon to complete the card.

Cajun Craze is not in the colors shown as part of the DSP, but I believe it compliments it beautifully.  I used the Nature Roots Framelit from the Rooted In Nature Bundle to create the leaf.  There is a die cut and an impression die for this leaf in the set.  I am still playing with the embossing mat to get the correct set up.  For my first try I believe this one works well enough.

Thank you for visiting today!  I have one more of the Country Home cards to show tomorrow.  And who knows, I may find a final one for Friday.  Stay tuned!!!

Country Home

I have another Country Home stamp set card today.  I really am loving this set.  For today I combined Country Home with Love What You Do stamp set.  I almost named the post Country Pitcher, LOL!  The pitcher reminds me of the old blue metal dishes that were speckled and usually had a tad of rust on them.  Am I dating myself? HaHa.  Anyway, I turned it into a vase.

Stampin' Up!, Country Home, Love What You Do, Frosted Floral, Jackie Beers

Country Home, 147678

Isn’t that Frosted Floral Designer Series Paper just beautiful?  Stampin’ Up! continues to top themselves on the beauty of the DSP.  This pack has each sheet with one side that is either pearly or copper.  It is just “WOW!!

Because I wanted a blue pitcher, I chose to focus on the blue of the DSP.  My base card is Blueberry Bushel.  I have used it before, but when I put it with this DSP it just seemed to brighten.  My coloring is with the Stampin’ Blends.  I love how they seem to blend themselves and do not leave lines.  I am definitely not a great blender!

To finish off the card I knew it needed something but I did not want to cover up the DSP.  So I added the Pearlized Doily.  It sort of blended into the paper, so I backed it with a Blueberry circle.  The sentiment is stamped and backed with Blackberry Bliss.  I added just a single pearl to go with the pearlized paper and doily.

Thank you for visiting today!  I very much appreciate it.  I have a complete supply list at the bottom of the page.  Also I have included the measurements just below.  Thanks again and please stop back tomorrow.

MEASUREMENTS: (Sorry for the funky 16th of an inch measurements.  I stamped and decided to cut it down and that’s where I ended up!  Oops)

  • Card base is 4 1/4 X 11, scored at 5 1/2 , folded and burnished
  • Gray layer is 4 1/8 X 5 3/8
  • DSP layer is 4 X 5 1/4
  • Small gray layer is 4 X 1 13/16
