Be Happy

I have a very simple and quick card to share today.  I have fallen back to the annual catalog for the Rooted In Nature stamp set.  I wanted to showcase some of the retiring colors and thought the nature set would be perfect.

Rooted In Nature, 146482

I used the Tranquil Tide and Lemon Lime Twist retiring ink colors as well as Granny Apple Green.  The leaf that looks sort of Blue is the Tranquil Tide.  It is really amazing how colors sort of change when next to other colors.

The sentiment is a favorite of mine.  I love the look it gives.  I flanked it with the Lemon Lime Twist smaller leaves and then made a tag from the Banner Triple Punch.  Of course I had to add something else.  So I decided on the Linen Thread.  You can never go wrong with that thread!!

Thank you for stopping by today.  I appreciate it and as always have listed all of the products used at the bottom of the post.

Squash Card for InKing Royalty Blog Hop

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s April Blog Hop! This year’s Blog Hop themes are inspired by a single word – and this month our projects are centered around SPRING. Spring is a special time of year – it’s fun to celebrate the beauty of nature and to get back outside during this transition of the seasons. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

My card is a fun fold that I have not done in years.   I found one I had made in some cleaning out I have been doing and then saw one on Pinterest almost the next day.  So I thought today’s Hop would be a great time to bring it out again.  As the title says, it is a Squash Card.  That is a different name for a funky fold.  I have several different photos of the closed and open card.  Please bare with me.

stampin' up!, Jackie Beers, Wonderful Floral, Floral Romance, Treat Time, Humming Along

Wonderful Floral Dies, 148529

This is the closed up look.  The card ends up being 4 1/4 X 4 1/4.  Even though it is a little thicker than a regular A2 card, it still fits in the A2 envelope.  And the bonus of that is no extra postage charge!

Here is it opening:

This view gives you the idea of how you would insure the inside decorations do not get folded or bent.  And Here is another of a little more open.

And the final of a fully opened card.

Can you see that you could easily add a gift card holder to the left hand side?  I was tempted to redo the entire card when I had that thought!!  Sanity prevailed though and I settled for just giving you that idea.

I used the Wonderful Floral Dies and the Floral Romance Designer Series Paper to create the die cuts and the leaves. I love the look of the leaves cut from the DSP.  The butterfly was laying on my desk from a previous project and I thought it would fit perfectly on that last panel.

This card began with an 8 1/2 X 8 1/2 piece of DSP.  I scored at 4 1/4 on two sides so that it is quartered. I then scored from one corner to the other.  After burnishing on the score lines, fold the two diagonal score lines to the inside and burnish again.  That is what makes the fun fold. Then decorate as you see fit.  The card I saw on Pinterest was made by Lyssa Zwolanek of Song Of My Heart in 2015.  You may be able to find it or a newer version.  Of course, I would be very happy to assist you in making one like this if you contact me.

All of the supplies used are at the bottom of the post.  Stampin’ Up! updated the Clearance Rack on Monday, so please check it out for some awesome deals.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop, Julie DiMatteo at The Paper Pixie. There’s lots of inspiration to be found in this group – and you don’t want to miss it!

OnStage Treat Box Take2

I would forget my brain if it wasn’t attached!  I forgot to take a photo of my treat box that I used as table favors and give aways at OnStage last week.  I used the directions from my fellow Demonstrator and 3D Queen Julie DiMatteo to make them.  They are so quick to do that I needed some for another occasions and will share that one with you today.  I have a link to Julie’s post and video.  The only difference is that I shortened the flap and tucked it inside as opposed to the longer flap and magnet closure that Julie used.  They are both after the pictures.

A Good Day 145873

I don’t know if you can see the little finger groove to help in opening.

This is a better shot of the finger groove and the tucked in flap.

And here is the good stuff on the inside!  The ones from OnStage held a Snack size Hershey bar, but I used all of those.  So these each had two Ghirardelli Minis.

Here is the post from Julie on the treat holder.  Click HERE .  The only difference is that the size is 4 X 4 1/2 for mine instead of her 4 X 5.  Do all the measurements just as Julie does.  The right side of the 4 1/2 will have two score marks 1/2 apart and not a longer as hers does.  I simply rounded that end and used the 1/2″ circle punch to make a finger groove.  Both are super easy to make.

Thank you for visiting today.  I hope you enjoyed the little box.  please come back tomorrow for the monthly InKing Royalty Blog Hop!  You will see several really nice projects.  And as always, my supply list is at the bottom of  the post.

Reminder:  I have used this sweet stamp set, A Good Day, twice this week.  It is a favorite Go To set for little tags.  It is on the retiring list.  So don’t let it get away from you!

Dear Friend

One of the best deals that Stampin’ Up! has in every catalog are the Host Rewards Stamp Sets.  They are basically half price sets.  The downside is that you can only purchase them if you are a host or you place a qualifying order of $150.00.  I know reaching that dollar amount is very easy!! LOL!!  But having a party with a group of friends is even better.  I would love to share some stamping with you and a few friends.  Think about it please!

I am showcasing one of the Host Rewards sets today.  It is the fabulous Very Vintage stamp set.  I love the look of the faded/distressed cards you can make with this.  I hope you like it.

Very Vintage Host Rewards set, 146801

I just adore the softness of this card.  I paired Sahara Sand with Highland Heather and I think it worked beautifully.  I stamped off with the Sahara Sand ink for the background.  I stamped the doily three different times.  I then stamped the flowers over top.  The Highland Heather is dark enough to overcome the Sahara Sand easily.

To finish the card off, I tied a knot with the Braided Linen Trim.  I am thrilled that it will be carrying over into the new annual catalog.  I also stamped the flowers on a scrap of paper and punched the small butterfly from the Butterfly Duet Punch.  The punch is back in stock and is also carrying over to the next catalog.  I gave just a touch of bling to the butterfly by adding the smallest of the rhinestones to it.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  I hope you will return tomorrow.  If you would like to check out all of the retiring products, I have the Last Chance link below.  I also have a Host Code if you place an order.

I will be ordering the new Annual Catalogs soon.  If you do not currently have a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, I would love to help you.  And I would be glad to send you the new catalog when they become available.  Please send me a message if you would like one.  I answer emails pretty quickly.

A Good Day

I am mixing two of my most favorite stamp sets today.  One is A Good Day stamp set.  It is so versatile, especially when you need a small sentiment or circle.  I really am sad to see it on the retiring list.  The second is Wishing You Well.  It is a great distinctive stamp set.  The bow is probably my favorite.  So to combine the two I made an Easter wreath.

Stampin' Up!, A Good Day, Wishing You Well, Touches of Texture, Jackie Beers

A Good Day, 145873

This little bunny has been a favorite from day one.  I think he is just adorable, and the perfect size for so many things.  I was surprised when I had the wreath idea that he fits perfectly!

The background splatter is from Touches Of Texture stamp set.  I stamped under the wreath with Mint Macaron and then above and below is Mint Macaron stamped off once.  This is another set that will be missed.  I will be looking for a new favorite background splatter!

To finish off the card I went around the outside of the wreath circle with the Mango Melody Stampin’ Write Marker.  It is a great way to differentiate the white when layering a white piece onto white.  I thought it needed a bit more though.  So I added the Copper Thread under the wreath.

Thank you for visiting today.  I am a bit late on today’s post, but life happens.  All of the supplies are listed at the bottom of the page.

Be sure to check the retiring products list.  Some may already be selling out. Usually the retiring In-Colors go first!  I also have a host code for the  month listed below the Last Chance sticker.  You can click on the Last Chance and go straight to the retiring products.

If you place an order with me, please use the April Host Code of 3KNKXJFH.  If your order is $75.00 (of product) or more, I will send you a small gift.  If it is over $150.00 (of product) I will send you a small gift, but DO NOT use the code. 150.00 is the minimum host rewards so you get the host rewards.

A Classic

Today’s card is one that is masculine but could be used as a Father’s Day or any other reason.  I used the Geared Up Garage stamp set , which is a great one for any guy, or gal, who loves cars.

Geared Up Garage, 148590

Everything I used, except for the card stock, is part of the Garage Suite.  I love the coordination of our Suites of Products.  Actually the card stock is part of the Suite as well.  The colors come from the designer series paper.  Tranquil Tide and Crushed Curry are perfect and unexpected at the same time.

Did you notice the little accessory hanging off the ribbon?  It is hard to see, so here is a close up of it.

These Classic Garage Metal Elements are also part of the suite.  I think they are awesome.  I chose to use the key since I had showcased the car.  There are also wrenches in the set.  They are all perfect additions to the card.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you liked a masculine card for a bit of a change.  All of the supplies are listed at the bottom of the page.  I also have the retiring products link for you as well.

Always

The retiring list of Stampin’ Up! products was published yesterday afternoon.  I have a link to it in my Online Store after this post.  Or you can simply click on the Shop tab at the top of the page and go there anytime.  REMINDER:  There are quite a lot of products that are carrying over.  But if they are part of a bundle currently, they will show that retiring!!!  That is just you can no longer get it in a bundle with the 10% discount after the new catalog goes live.

I am sharing one of the retiring stamp sets from the Occasions catalog.  So do not panic, it is still available now.  It is the Easter Set, His Grace.  I love this set for the sentiments and the images.  I do not think it has been given near enough love by folks.  So I am sharing it today for a non-Easter card.  I hope it will inspire you to try it.

His Grace, 148676

This was really a pretty quick card to make.  It is stamped and then colored with Stampin’ Blends.  If you follow my blog you know already how much I love coloring with these guys.  This was very simple and I like that.

The corners are punched using one end of the Trio Corner Punch just to give it a little attention other than adding ribbon or other embellishments.

The sentiment is from Accented Blooms, a sweet set from the Annual Catalog.  I love the look of stamping the sentiment across a focal point.

Thank you for visiting today.  I do have the link to the Retiring Lists and hope you will grab anything you are interested in right away so as not to be disappointed.  The retiring In Colors will be among the first items to sell out.  I also have a HOST CODE listed below if you would like to place an order.

Piggy Confidence

I returned from a FABULOUS trip to Charlotte for the Stampin’ Up! OnStage Event.  I was surrounded but a large group of Demonstrators who were all so thrilled to be there.  The weather was not too hard on us and fun was had!

We did a card swap in my group and I forgot to take a picture of the card I made.  However, I used the same basic card with my Stamp Club last week.  So I am sharing that version.  It is really the same, just different Designer Series Paper.  I will say that using different paper gives it a very different look.  I don’t know why that is.  Today’s version is very bright!

This Little Piggy, 143922

I adore This Little Piggy!  And am THRILLED to share with you that it is carrying over into the new Annual Catalog.  WooHoo!!!  Seeing the catalog early, and let me tell you that it is AWESOME, is one of the best reasons to be a SU Demonstrator!

Back to the card!!  I stamped the piggy and colored her with the Stampin’ Blends.  You may not be able to see from the photograph, but I added Wink Of Stella to her wings.  Wings should sparkle!!  And that is pretty much it.  I have the measurements for the DSP listed below.

Thank you for stopping in today.  I hope you like this card.  It is a great way to use up scrap DSP, and the small pieces we cut off when trimming layers.  I have listed all of the supplies at the bottom of the post.  I have also added a HOST CODE if you would like to place an order with me.  If you do not currently have a SU Demonstrator I would love to help you and if you will let me know, I will send you a new catalog next month when they become available.

Measurements:

  • Base layer is 8 1/2 X 5 1/2
  • Layer is 4 1/4 X 5 3/8
  • Dsp is 4 X 5 1/4, cut into 2 pieces of roughly 1/3 and 2/3 . I simply flipped over one piece for the two DSP you see.  You can always mix and match if you are doing multiples.
  • The strip is 1/2 X 4 of coordinating card stock, or you could use a strip of ribbon if you prefer.
  • Pig layers are 2 3/4 X 3 and 2 5/8 X 2 7/8

If you place an order with me, please use the April Host Code of 3KNKXJFH.  If your order is $75.00 (of product) or more, I will send you a small gift.  If it is over $150.00 (of product) I will send you a small gift, but DO NOT use the code. 150.00 is the minimum host rewards so you get the host rewards.

Animal Expedition

I have been finishing my swap cards and 3D swaps for OnStage in Charlotte this weekend.  Whooo!! I have been really far behind on all of that.  But I am down to just putting the boxes together.  They will get worked on during the ride up there tomorrow.  I will share that project with you next week.

Before I get to  my card, I snapped a picture of my gorgeous azalea bush that has decided to pop out in the last couple of days.  Here it is.

For todays card I have a really quick and sweet card.  I have been using some Annual Catalog stamps this week and today continues that theme.  I went with the Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper.  It is so adorable!  And the Label Me Pretty stamp set for the little sentiment.

The only stamping on this card is the sentiment.  The sweet animals were punched from the Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper.  How easy is that!!!  I paired it with another piece of DSP from the same package.  The base colors are Lemon Lime Twist and Berry Burst.  They are both on the soon to be retiring list.  They are in the 2017-2019 In Colors.  So we have known they would be leaving us.  I really do wish the Lemon Lime Twist could stay.

Thank you so much for visiting today.  I will share my swaps next week.  Please Like my FaceBook page, Blue Line Stamping, and you may get to see some sneak peeks at new products coming soon.

Crafting Forever

Before I get to the project for today……There have been quite a few messages from Stampin’ Up! in the last couple of days.  Some are well received and other not so much.  One thing I have tried to tell myself is that change is good.   Wether it is family, work, or fun, there will be change.  So please do not panic over the discontinuing of the Stampin’ Trimmer and the Big Shot.  My hopes are that the replacements will be even better!

The good and bad of the reception to the latest news is what inspired today’s card.  Crafting is my hobby and I plan on doing it until I simply cannot get the body to work that way.  So I was thinking of the “Keep Calm, and Craft On” sentiment and wished I had it.  LOL!!!  Here is today’s card.

Crafting Forever, 143958

I used the Whisper White notecards and envelopes for the project today.  No cutting or measuring, just stamp on the pre-scored card!  It could not be easier to do.

The two stamp sets I used here are from the annual catalog.  The Crafting Forever is so great for quick cards for crafting friends.  And the Playful Backgrounds goes with so many stamp sets as a subtle background.  For this background, I stamped off one time for the stripes and then stamped full strength for the circles or bubbles (I’m not sure which they are?).

The stamp itself was stamped on a scrap, colored with Stampin’ Blends and then cut out.  I raised it with a couple of dimensional.  The final touch is the Calypso Coral Ombre Ribbon.  I would love for SU to do more of this type ribbon.  The subtle variations make it match so many more colors than the name itself.

Thank you for visiting today!  I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s Pal’s Blog Hop and please come back tomorrow.  All of the supplies, as limited as they are, are listed at the bottom of the page.
