Double Pocket Fold for Pals May Hop

Welcome to the Pals’ May  Blog Hop. We’re so glad you’re here because we made some great projects with “More Than One Score.” You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

My “more than one score” card is a Double Pocket Card.  It has a few scores and a few folds, but it needs very little adhesive to hold it together.  The added bonus is that it can be made in quite a few sizes.  I made mine today to hold a tea bag and a note card.  Of course, I used the retiring Tea Room Designer Series Paper to go with the tea bag!

Stampin' Up!, Jackie Beers, Tea Room, Frosted Bouquet, Free As A Bird

Tea Room Designer Series Paper, 146894

I mixed and match with my products used.  I have the Tea Room DSP, which is retiring, the Frosted Bouquet Framelits, which are carrying over, and the Free As A Bird stamp set, which is new for the upcoming catalog.  One of the best about Stampin’ Up! products is that they mix and match so well.

I got this inspiration from a Splitcoast tutorial from Claudia Rosa.  It was from several years ago.  I played around with paper size until I got what actually fit the tea bag.  For an unknown reason, that was my original idea for it!

Here is the card pulled out.  I used the Detailed Trio Punch to make the ribbon hole.  It is just the perfect size!

I should have mentioned above that my card is 4 X 4.  So with the tea bag adding some thickness, it would still fit into a regular size envelope.  At the bottom of my post, along with the supply list, I will add the directions on how to fold this.  It is super easy, and I have some photos to go along.

More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Don’t forget to show us some love by commenting on our creations. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, June 12, 2019 when our Hoppin’ Pals share their “Anything with Wings” projects. Don’t miss the fun!

Animal Expedition

I have been finishing my swap cards and 3D swaps for OnStage in Charlotte this weekend.  Whooo!! I have been really far behind on all of that.  But I am down to just putting the boxes together.  They will get worked on during the ride up there tomorrow.  I will share that project with you next week.

Before I get to  my card, I snapped a picture of my gorgeous azalea bush that has decided to pop out in the last couple of days.  Here it is.

For todays card I have a really quick and sweet card.  I have been using some Annual Catalog stamps this week and today continues that theme.  I went with the Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper.  It is so adorable!  And the Label Me Pretty stamp set for the little sentiment.

The only stamping on this card is the sentiment.  The sweet animals were punched from the Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper.  How easy is that!!!  I paired it with another piece of DSP from the same package.  The base colors are Lemon Lime Twist and Berry Burst.  They are both on the soon to be retiring list.  They are in the 2017-2019 In Colors.  So we have known they would be leaving us.  I really do wish the Lemon Lime Twist could stay.

Thank you so much for visiting today.  I will share my swaps next week.  Please Like my FaceBook page, Blue Line Stamping, and you may get to see some sneak peeks at new products coming soon.

Crafting Forever

Before I get to the project for today……There have been quite a few messages from Stampin’ Up! in the last couple of days.  Some are well received and other not so much.  One thing I have tried to tell myself is that change is good.   Wether it is family, work, or fun, there will be change.  So please do not panic over the discontinuing of the Stampin’ Trimmer and the Big Shot.  My hopes are that the replacements will be even better!

The good and bad of the reception to the latest news is what inspired today’s card.  Crafting is my hobby and I plan on doing it until I simply cannot get the body to work that way.  So I was thinking of the “Keep Calm, and Craft On” sentiment and wished I had it.  LOL!!!  Here is today’s card.

Crafting Forever, 143958

I used the Whisper White notecards and envelopes for the project today.  No cutting or measuring, just stamp on the pre-scored card!  It could not be easier to do.

The two stamp sets I used here are from the annual catalog.  The Crafting Forever is so great for quick cards for crafting friends.  And the Playful Backgrounds goes with so many stamp sets as a subtle background.  For this background, I stamped off one time for the stripes and then stamped full strength for the circles or bubbles (I’m not sure which they are?).

The stamp itself was stamped on a scrap, colored with Stampin’ Blends and then cut out.  I raised it with a couple of dimensional.  The final touch is the Calypso Coral Ombre Ribbon.  I would love for SU to do more of this type ribbon.  The subtle variations make it match so many more colors than the name itself.

Thank you for visiting today!  I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s Pal’s Blog Hop and please come back tomorrow.  All of the supplies, as limited as they are, are listed at the bottom of the page.

The Best for GDP182

When I saw the sketch challenge for the Global Design Project #182, I knew I had to play along.  I love the simple sketch.  I immediately thought of it as perfect for a “scrap” card.  If you have followed me for very long then you know that I love to periodically use the scraps of designer series paper.  I saw this as one of those layouts that would fit the bill easily.

Varied Vases, 146644

Here is the sketch:

I thought a small simple stamping would fit perfectly for this based on the bright DSP I chose to use.  And the Varied Vases, Mary Fish’s Million Dollar Stamp Set fit the bill perfectly.  I pulled Berry Burst from the card stock as the vase and flower color.  The flower is “stamped Off” first to give a touch lighter shade.

The gorgeous DSP is the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper.  It is the thick DSP I used the other day on a card.  I will be using it quite a bit in the next months since it will be retiring with the next annual catalog.  I adore this paper.

Thank you for stopping by today.  All of the products I used are listed at the bottom of the page.  Remember that Sale-A-Bration is over at the end of the month.  And since time has been flying lately that is only a couple of days away!  Don’t miss out on FREE product.  Also, the Join Promotion I have listed below ends.  To receive $175.00 for $99.00 in your starter kit is a fabulous deal.  Read all the details below and then contact me.  I would love to have you join my team.

Amazing

I have a card to share today that is pretty much  an “any occasion” type card.   It was really quick and easy to make.  And it is almost a one stamp set card.  At the last minute I decided to use a background stamp instead fo leaving the card base plain.  Either would work wonderfully.

Stampin' Up!, Incredible Like You, Amazing Life, Jackie Beers, Crackle Paint

Incredible Like You, 148708

I love the sentiment, “You Are amazing”.  Anyone would love to receive a card with that as the sentiment. I know I would.  It may not show well in the photo, but the ends of the sentiment are torn instead of cut.  It looks very nice in person but may not show well in the photo.  I have been into “tearing” this week.  Remember my card from Tuesday?  LOL!

Other than the sentiment, the stamps are all from the Incredible Like You stamp set.  I have a tip for you in stamping the flower.  Normally I stamp the solid image first and then the definition image second.  With the photopolymer stamps lining these two step images up is a piece of cake.  Until I tried this very light color of Blushing Bride!!  I could not really see the solid stamped image.  So I tried it in reverse and stamped the dark definition stamp first.  That worked amazingly!  All I had to do was line up the bottom of the stamp and it was perfect.  Please keep that little tip in your tool bag when using a very light color.

I found another unexpected result with the Granny Apple Green stamping.  I stamped the stripes in Granny Apple Green and looked for a different green for the leaves I wanted to add to the flowers.  None seemed to work without really standing out.  So I tried the Granny Apple again and stamped off once .  It was perfect.  Well, actually it would have been perfect had I stamped the leaves full strength and the stripes lighter I think.  Regardless, I was pleased with the result.  It is the exact tone of color and shows up surprisingly well without contrasting with the stripes.  Who Knew???

The background is made using the Crackle Paint background stamp.  I love the look this gives.  Background Stamps are so unique and give such different looks depending on the ink you use.  I love using the same Ink as Card stock, like I did today.  But I also like just using Versamark to do a light image.  Although Versamark leaves a darker image on very light card stock.  Another of those anomolies!

Thank you for stopping by today.  Please come back on Monday for another project.

Nine Lives

On Tuesday I shared a card using the Happy Tails stamp set.  So to give equal time to my kitties, I have one today using the Nine Lives stamp set.  As with the Happy Tails, the sentiments are so perfect that I hope these two sets are around for quite some time.

Nine Lives, 148703

I would not normally pair the cat with this designer series paper.  As I was looking for a background or a DSP to go with the cat, I saw this piece with the Balmy Blue and Sahara Sand.  I have used this piece previously and it is so soft, elegant, romantic…just pick one.  So I thought I would give it a try.

The heart is from the Be Mine Framelits, and is the reverse side of the large DSP piece.  There are so many items from the Occasions catalog that I hope will carry over to the next Annual Catalog.  We will know before too long!!!  I get so excited about the thought of new products, and then sad at the thought of losing some I love.

Thank you for visiting today.  I have listed all of the products I used at the bottom of the post.  I hope you have an enjoyable weekend.  Please come back on Monday.
