I have CASED a card from Mary Fish for today. She did a beautiful wreath from the new Leaf Punch that is in the Holiday Catalog. Mary’s wreath was done in metallic colors. So I decided to try making one with the new Merry Music Specialty DSP.
Leaf Punch, 144667
My card is fairly simple with the exception of the wreath. I punched ten leaves each from the white and the black pieces of music sheet DSP. I used my bone folder to gently curl the leaves just a little bit. Then I alternated the colors in laying them down to form the wreath.
The bow is made with the wonderful 1/8″ Real Red Ribbon that is also new in the Holiday Catalog. I really love narrow ribbon. The sentiment is from the Label of Love stamp set in the Holiday Catalog as well. It is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on a strip of Whisper White card stock. The Memento black ink is my black of choice for most stamping because it does not smear on the whisper white and very vanilla card stock.
HINT: I punched a 2″ circle of Old Olive card stock and adhered it to the center of the Old Olive panel. I used that as the guide for laying down my leaves. I added adhesive just to the outside of that circle. (Trust me….I had a really ugly non-round wreath before I came up with that idea!)

As I typed my title I laughed! I typed Halloween Squares, and I know I am showing my age, I remembered the old television show: Hollywood Squares. It’s early !!
I seem to be switching back and forth with Halloween and Christmas cards. I hope you do not mind. Today’s card is an oldy but goody type layout. Here it is:
Spooky Cat Bundle, 146014
I have not done one of these little squares cards in a while. My idea came from deciding which of this super cute Spooky Night Designer Series Paper I wanted to use. The answer was, a lot of it!! Or in this case a little of several. I do believe this is a great example of a little still packs a punch. I love the different papers showing.
There isn’t much to say about the card. I will list the measurements and supplies below. I did use the Cat punch and punched the cats from the DSP sheet that is all cats. The Vintage Crochet Trim is just the right amount of accessory. And the sentiment is from the very old, but still super, stamp set of Teeny Tiny Wishes. I hope that set never retires!!

I had a “senior moment” yesterday and posted a blog hop a week early! I apologize to those of you who were looking for my post yesterday that it disappeared. I had to take it down or spoil all the fun of the hop for next week. I will try not to ever do that again!!! Yikes!!!
So today I have a really cute card that I hope will make up for my absence yesterday. It is stamping directly on the Designer Series Paper. I remember doing this at my club one day and a couple of the ladies had never considered stamping on DSP. Here is today’s card.
Carols of Christmas, 144804
I love that you can see the music through the stamping. I am not a musical person at all, but I love sheet music and I believe this paper is just gorgeous. The name is Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper. A mouthful but well worth it.
The colors I chose are Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green. I have to confess that I have never really used Garden Green until this year. When the Be Merry Designer Series Paper came out in the current annual catalog I was surprised to see Garden Green in the packet. Now I feel that I have been very wrong in ignoring this beautiful color.
There is not very much I can say extra about this card other than I used the ink pads and stamps to stamp on the DSP. I felt it needed just a touch extra when I was finished. So I added the cute little corner touches.
Thank you for visiting today. Again I apologize for yesterday’s No Post! I may miss a post in the future, but I hope I never have to remove one again. LOL!!! The supplies I used are listed below. You can click on any item and be taken directly to my online store.
I showed a Smooshing technique card a few days ago. And now I have tried it with a little bit of a twist. The results may be questionable !!
Lovely Words Thinlits Die, 143733
You can see my first attempt using the original method by clicking HERE. Julie DiMatteo was who I copied in my previous card and her video is wonderful. You can see her video HERE on the original Smooshing Technique. This one sort of looks like a child’s fingerprinting gone bad!! But it was fun to make, and for me that is what matters.
The “Take Two” is that instead of putting the ink refill drops on a plastic sheet and then touching the other plastic to it, I just dropped the ink refill droplets onto the Glossy card stock. I did not add water. I simply touched a acetate sheet to the drops and spread it around.
I chose the Thinlit Die Lovely Words to use as the focal point on my card instead of covering up the Smooshing I did. This is such an easy and quick way to add words to a card. And the Multi-purpose Adhesive Sheets are a must. I would have glue everywhere if that was how I tried to adhere this. Thank You Stampin’ Up! for bringing these back in the catalog!!!

I love all of the stamps in the Half Full set. There are nice sentiments and they all work great with each other, as well as other sets. Plus they are just so dang cute!! Here is my card today.
Half Full, 144999
I could not decide on a white, red, or blush for my wines, so I went with all three!! More is better!! The splatters, I have messy friends, are actually from the Brightly Lit Christmas set. It was on my desk when I decided I needed a splatter. For that set I believe it is either snow or berries for the wreath!
I colored the wine in the glasses with Stampin’ Write Markers and then stamped the spilled wine from the ink pads. The white wine is So Saffron, in case you need a nice white wine color.
I offset the center panel to allow for the bow. The new 1/2″ Finely Woven Ribbon in Fresh Fig is beautiful, but it is a little thicker than some of our other ribbons. So the bow will not tie as small as I usually like to use. Therefore I needed more space for the bow to fit. I have seen several cards from other demonstrators, Mary Fish comes to mind, who have made some beautiful cards using this layout. So you could say I am doing a CASE of one of her cards.
Thank you so much for visiting today! I hope you enjoyed the card and I would love to hear your comments. The supplies I used are at the bottom of the page. You can click on any item and be taken directly to my online store. I hope you have a great day!!
I have another card from the Carols of Christmas stamp set . The set has two large greetings, but it also has matching Thinlits that can be purchased as a bundle. The Thinlits are called Card Front Builder Thinlits Dies. They do not really look like they match the stamp set. They only technically cut out a few things that you stamp, BUT…..they have additional pieces that are just beautiful. Here is the card and you will see the stamped and die cut areas.
Carols of Christmas Bundle, 146037
The card is very simple, but I love it. It is fairly clean and uncluttered. That is so hard for me to do! The sentiment is stamped and then die cut with the Layering Squares Thinlits, as is the scalloped frame. The trees at the bottom are from the Card Front Builder Thinlits. I love the look they give. The deer actually has a matching thinlet but I just stamped him. I did give him a coat of Clear Wink of Stella. Although it doesn’t show up in the photo.
I love Smoky Slate with almost any other color! I used this combination for my Christmas cards a few years ago. I hope you like these colors as much as I do. I would love to see any cards you make with this color combination.

I am trying a new technique today. I have seen some really awesome cards on Facebook and Pinterest using the Eclipse Technique. So I tried a small version for my first time.
I realized after the fact that the Pool Party eyes on my cat were not really bright enough. I should have used the Smoky Slate. But I love the soft combination of these colors.
I punched the cat out before stamping and placed it back in the cutout space. I then stamped everything. Before layering, I punched another cat from a scrap of Smoky Slate card stock and glued it to the original one. Then it is raised with dimensionals. I finished the card with the small bow on the end of the cat’s tail. Every kitty needs some decoration .
This is so easy to do . At least my small version is! I have seen some beautiful and elaborate cards and home decor made using this technique.
I could have done better on my Eclipse Technique but I like the small version and think it came out alright. I hope you will give it a try.

I am definitely an animal lover. So when I see cute animals and Christmas together it is a must have. That is what happened with the new Santa Paws stamp set. Here is today’s card.
Santa Paws, 144889
I just love the cats and dogs tree! I did not color everything. I thought it would be overkill plus it would have taken a really long time! I did stick with the main colors of green and red, with just a few additions.
I consider this a traditional type card with the layers. They are just not centered. Sometimes little tweaks give you an entirely different look. I hope you enjoyed this one.
I had previously done another card using this same stamp set. You can see that card HERE.

My title is sort of a joke from when we were kids. Or at least when I was, since I find myself getting into that OLD stage at least numerically! But to get to the point…..When I first saw the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper and cards were made with the owl in the tree, my thought was that it should be a cat. So that is what I did for today’s card.
So….what do you think of the cat in the tree, instead of the owl? A twist on the expected.
Yes, I used the traditional Halloween colors for this one. The DSP dictated the color and I was fine with that. I debated on a different cat color. But I love black cats, we seem to always have at least one cat that is black in our menagerie. So it was fitting.
The cat is punched out of the DSP with the Cat Punch, which is part of the Spooky Cat Bundle. This is a super cat and I see using my cat punch year round.

I must say that I loved this stamp set from the first time I saw it. I love wine decorations and this set reminds me of that. I believe it is appropriately named – Half Full. I spent yesterday playing with my stamps and made a couple using this set. Here is my favorite.
This card came together so easily. The wine just had to be a red or muscadine, so I went with Fresh Fig for the wine color and focal color. And since I colored the grapes on the tag, Old Olive was a natural. And that was that. I stamped the wine glasses onto the Old Olive card stock with Old Olive ink.
When I first saw the tag I wondered if it matched our Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. It is not mentioned in the catalog as coordinating with it. Well….. yes it does!! Woohoo!! I love unexpected surprises. Of course the way my bow is positioned you cannot tell that the white layer behind the tag is punched with the Scallop Tag Topper , but it is.
