Hanging Garden

I know I have used the Hanging Garden stamp set quite a few times.  It is so easy to use, and especially with Stampin’ Blends or Watercolor Pencils.  I needed a quick Thank You card and grabbed this set because I knew it would work perfectly.

Hanging Garden, 146239

COLOR COMBINATION:

I went with a more Subtles color combination for this card.  I usually use more of the Bright family of colors.  I always have bittersweet thoughts at the end of a catalog year when an In-Color Group goes away.  This time Sweet Sugarplum will be leaving and I really like that soft color.  NOTE:  If you really like any of the 2016-2018 In-Colors, buy them now.  They will only be available as supplies last!

I stamped the baskets and butterflies with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored them with the Stampin’ Blends.  The sentiment is stamped a little different than normal.  I decided to stamp it in Bermuda Bay rather than the normal Black.  I believe that softens the card a bit as well.  The embellishments I added to finish the card are very hard to see in the photograph.  But it does add great texture and a little bit of unusual in real life.  I added the Glitter tear/rain drops from the Glitter and Clear Epoxy Shapes.  It looks like raindrops on the card.  (In case you have overlooked these super cute embellishments….they are on page 33 of the Occasions Catalog)

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you have a great rest of your day.  The supplies I used are listed at the bottom of the page.

Hello Friend

I am CASEing my Stampin’ Up! Team Leader, Brian King, on today’s patchwork card.  Brian has created several different cards using leftover strips of card stock.  Since I have been cleaning lately, I found I had quite a lot of little strips of card stock and DSP to either throw away or use.  I chose to use them of course.

A Good Day, 145873

And yes, that is the much used by me stamp set “A Good Day”.  I cannot apologize though.  It is a favorite and I keep going back to it when I am looking for something small.  I did not want to overwhelm the quilted look layer, so I went with a cute little design and a simple sentiment.

To adhere the strips, I covered a piece of whisper white with the Multi-purpose Adhesive sheet.  Then I just layed the strips down. Once I had the paper covered, I simply trimmed off the excess strips with my paper snips.  The hardest part of this is deciding which strips to use and then the color to use as the background layer.  I like those kind of difficulties. 🙂

The card base is the Tutti-Frutti Cards and Envelopes that are a Sale-A-Bration item.  These are wonderful.  I wish there would be something similar in the annual catalog.  It makes putting together a great card with matching envelope a piece of cake.

Speaking of SAB……there are only a few days left for you to take advantage of this annual offer.  It is also the absolute best time to join Stampin’ Up!  You can get quite a lot more in your Starter Kit for the same price.  I would love to have you join my team.  Hobby Demonstrators are the core of Stampin’ Up!  . That is how most of us begin.  I just wanted the discount to support my stamping habit.  Who doesn’t love a discount.  Plus you would have access to exclusive projects and ideas created by other demonstrators.  If you are thinking about it, please contact me and let’s talk.

I hope you have a great day and I appreciate you stopping to see my card for today.  All of the supplies I used are listed at the bottom of the page.

Simply Amazing

This card is “amazingly” simple and quick!  Did you catch that?  It actually is true.  Other than cleaning the stamp to change colors, it is a couple of stampings and done.  Take a look and you decide .

Stampin' Up!, Amazing You, Heartfelt Blooms, Jackie Beers

Amazing You, 147215

Do you see what I mean?  This was so quick that multiples of it would be a piece of cake.  I simply stamped the Heartfelt Blooms stamp in Smoky Slate, cleaned it, and then stamped in Night of Navy.  The “Amazing” is the thinlit die  from Celebrate You Thinlits.   I did use the Multi-purpose Adhesive Sheet, which turns the words into a sticker.  A definite Must Have in your tool box of supplies.  No more making a mess with glue for detailed dies. WooHoo !!

I do have to admit to CASEing this from a card I found in my swap box.  It came from one of the ladies in my Stamp Club in one of our swaps.  I love going through these occasionally.  They are perfect for giving inspiration.

COLOR COMBINATION:

The center of the flower is the White Perfect Accents.  It fit “perfectly”  (wow, I am on a roll today) with the muted tone of the Smoky Slate.  And a tip for you:  you can color these with the Stampin’ Blends to get any color accessory that you need.  How awesome is that?  To finish off this cute card I added the Smoky Slate Gingham Ribbon with just a little knot.

Thank you so much for visiting today!  I greatly appreciate it and your comments.  I hope you have a great day!  The supplies I used are listed at the bottom of the post.

You Warm My Heart – InKing Royalty Blog Hop

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s March Blog Hop! Today’s hop is filled to the brim with projects that celebrate Spring and Summer. With inspiration from Katrina & the Waves’ song “Walking on Sunshine,” we’ve created projects that share the joy and excitement that accompany warmer weather. We are excited to share our projects with you. After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

Nothing says warmth like being out in the sun.  So when I considered the theme of today’s hop, I immediately thought of the Sheltering Tree stamp set.  A beautiful sunny day and relaxing beneath a big tree is what I was looking for.

Stampin' Up!, Sheltering Tree, Jackie Beers

Sheltering Tree, 137163

Taking a break under the tree is such a Summer thing, and I cannot wait for it to get here.  So I was excited to make this card following today’s theme.  I picked the colors to be bright and summery as well.  The Crushed Curry from the Color Theory Designer Seres Paper Stack was perfect.  I love the added texture the crackled look of the paper gives.

My sunshine is from the SAB set Amazing You.  It makes the perfect sunbeams. The finishing touch was the Brights Enamel Shapes element of the heart to match the sentiment.  This truly was a quick card.  Since the stamp set is photopolymer it is so easy to line everything up.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop, Robin Myren at http://Robin Myren at Songbird Designs by Robin

Here’s To A Good Day!

I am doing a different look to one of the cutest sets in the Occasions Catalog.  And Yes, I am referring to the A Good Day stamp set.  I have used it quite a lot, but isn’t that why we purchase sets?  I have definitely enjoyed this one!!

Stampin' Up!, A Good Day, Jackie Beers, stampinup, good day, jackiebeers

A Good Day, 145873

I CASED this card from a card I found when going through some old swap cards.  I love finding inspiration in older cards.  (And it justifies me having a bunch of stuff hanging around!)  In truth though, it is another quick and easy card to make.  So I hope you will CASE this one as well.

I stamped and colored with the Stampin’ Blends the cute little animals from the stamp set.   I had already decided my second color was going to be Calypso Coral.  So I gave each animal a touch of it and then used it as the scalloped circle color.

To give some definition to the Island Indigo base, I used the Simply Scored Scoring Tool ( A Must Have tool !!) and scored around all four sides.  Of course that didn’t seem to be enough.  I then added the scores across the center.  That made me happy and I was finished.  Sometimes it is just the little things that finish a card.

Thank you for visiting today.  The supplies I used are listed at the bottom of the page. I hope you like this card and will come back tomorrow for the InKing Royalty Blog Hop.

As Sale-A-Bration is winding down, (only 2 weeks left.) I hope you will consider joining my BlueLine Team of Stampers. You would also be joining the InKing Royalty Team as well.  We have an awesome group of very talented demonstrators and we love sharing ideas with each other.  Contact me and lets chat about it!

A Daisy a Day

I have been thinking about the new catalog coming soon and at the same time worrying about which of my most loved stamp sets will be retiring.  I want to see the new additions, but hate seeing some of my favorites go away.  So I am bringing out some of them to enjoy.  Here is one of my favorites.

Daisy Delight Bundle, 143669

Yes, I did just use this same stamp set last week.  I can justify it as it is a favorite and super for quick cards.  And who doesn’t love daisies??  Today I paired it with the Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack. (Another DSP to stock up on!)  I adore this crackle paint look.  It seems like a peeling fence with a daisy peeking out.

I stamped directly on the DSP and then colored with the Stampin’ Blends.  The daisy is stamped and colored with the Stampin’ Blends as well.  I also stamped the sentiment directly on the DSP.  I like the simple look it gives.

Thank you very  much for checking out my post today.  I very much appreciate it.  The supplies I used are listed at the bottom of the post.  I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day!

Petal Palette

This is my first card using the Petal Palette Bundle.  I feel silly, because it is an AWESOME stamp set and dies.  DUH !!  I used it as the first card I made for the GDP color challenge.  But then I decided on the daisy card from yesterday to submit instead.  So here are the same colors with a totally different look.  And isn’t the what we are all about?  Creating with what we have is what we do.

Petal Palette Bundle, 145974

It is hard to believe that the two cards are made with the same colors.  If you did not see yesterday’s card, you can see it HERE.

COLOR COMBINATION:

Other than the dies, this was a super quick card.  The layers are simple and plain.  The bird is colored on the stamp with the Stampin’ Write Markers in Soft Suede and Calypso Coral.  I like the softer look it gives.  I debated on filling in the white space on the bird, but decided it was fine just as it is.  The strip of DSP has all of the colors in it as well.  I thought it was a great way of tying it all together.

There is one thing I used that is a must have for the intricate dies like the branch/leaves.  That is the Multi-purpose Adhesive sheet.  You simple place a piece of it on the card stock prior to cutting out the image.  When you are finished cutting, you simple remove the white layer off the back and the piece is now a sticker.  No messy glue is needed.  YAY !! This is one of the best ever products.

Thank you for visiting with me today!  I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day!  I will hopefully see you back here on Monday.  The complete list of supplies I used is at the bottom of the page.

Daisy Color Challenge

I am submitting today’s card for the Global Design Project 129 color challenge.  The colors are Soft Suede, Pear Pizzaz, and Calypso Coral.  I actually made two cards because I love all of those colors together.  I will post the second card next week.  But for today we are going with Springtime and Daisies!

Daisy Delight Bundle, 145361

COLOR COMBINATION:

My pear pizzaz and calypso coral colors are from Designer Series Papers.  The Pear Pizzaz from Coffee Break DSP and the Calypso Coral from the Delightful Daisy DSP.  My daisy is stamped in Calypso Coral and colored with the lighter Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends.  And then to add even more of the Calypso, I added the 1/4″ Ombre  Ribbon in Calypso Coral as well.

The sentiment I used is from the  same set and probably is intended to be on the inside of the card with a large Thank You on the front.  Of course, I had to be different.

Thank you for visiting today!  The supplies are all listed at the bottom of the page.  I love to read your comments and appreciate every one of them.  Have a great rest of your day!!

March Pals Blog Hop – Easter

Welcome to the Pals March 2018 Blog Hop. Our theme this month is “Spring has Sprung”. The Stampin’ Pretty Pals will inspire you with Spring or Spring-related projects. You may see floral, Easter or other general Spring-inspired designs. You may be just starting or hopped over from another Pal. In either case you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.

I decided to make an Easter card for today.  Although my card without the added bunny would be great for many occasions.  I think I just have chocolate bunnies on my mind 🙂

Blossoming Basket, 147124

My little bunny is sort of tucked into the flowers, but he was what I wanted for Easter.  And it is not too far out there to imagine receiving a basket of flowers with a chocolate bunny mixed in.

I used a couple of stamp sets to get this card completed.  The basket of flowers is from Blossoming Basket, a SAB item.  The Happy Easter sentiment is from You’re Inspiring, and the bunny is from A Good Day.  However, I could have made the exact same card, minus bunny, with just the Blossoming Basket as there are two great sentiments in that set.

COLOR COMBINATION:

I pulled my color combination from the beautiful DSP.  It is the Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper.  It is definitely a WOW.  I could have added the Peekaboo Peach to the combination as well.  I chose that instead of yellow for the flowers.  Using the Stampin’ Blends are so addicting and just down right FUN !!

I separated the basket and the sentiment to allow more of the beautiful colors from the DSP to show.  But because the white space is pretty big on the basket and sentiment, the business of the DSP does not overpower.  I hope you like this layout.

I appreciate you visiting today.  The supplies I used are listed at the bottom of the post.

Thank you so much for hopping with the Stampin’ Pretty Pals today. Please take a minute to mark your calendar for our next hop on April 11, 2018 for our Family First Hop. Now hop along using the Blog Hop Line-up below. Don’t forget to leave us a comment. We really like that.

Triple Layer Congratulations

I met with my monthly card club yesterday and we made a card with the wonderful Stamparatus.  I believe it was a hit!  I showed the versatility of the design of the Stamparatus by doing a 3 step stamp.  We used the Amazing Congratulations stamp set from the Occasion Catalog.  None of the other stamp positioning tools are able to do a three step stamp without removing stamps.  Due to the two plates , you can use three or even four stamps with no problem.  One of the many reasons I LOVE the Stamparatus !!

Amazing Congratulations, 145938

I love the variegated look of the stamps as well as the outline.  The ladies commented how many occasions this card could be used for. (babies, weddings, etc.)  I love that it is quick, easy, simple, and most of all pretty.

As I mentioned at the top, having the two stamping plates made this card work perfectly.  I placed one of the partial congratulations on one side and the other on the opposite side.  By turned the plate around it lined up without being in the way.  On the second plate I placed the outline and the “to my friend” stamp just below it.  It was especially easy to align with the photopolymer stamp set. Woohoo!!

A Stamparatus Tip:

I saw this somewhere else and I apologize to whoever it was that I cannot give them credit! .. Because the Congratulations is almost as long as the card, you would need to place a shim up against the left hand hinge area to get a clear stamped image.  To alleviate this, I cut a piece of SU grid paper to fit the inside of the Stamparatus.  I then aligned my white card stock in the top/center of the Stamparatus.  By taking a pencil and marking the bottom corners, I could then easily place the next piece of card stock in the correct place.  Easy Peasy for making multiples.

Special Mention:  The Stampin’ Up! Grid Paper.  Oh My!!  I hope you use the SU grid paper.  A pad of it lasts what seems like forever.  It is a great “PAD” for cushioning the stamping with photopolymer.  It has a built in ruler.  And the grid marks have a 101 uses.  I find myself finding new uses all the time.  I could do a blog post on just all the uses for this item.  And now is a great time to add the additional item to get you to the next SAB item!!

Thank you for visiting today!  I hope you liked this card and my tips.  Please come back tomorrow for the Pals Blog Hop.  It is a Spring Theme.
