Magnolia 3X3 cards

I hope you enjoyed the 3 X 3 Box in yesterday’s post.  Today I am sharing the cards I made to go inside of it.  I hope the recipient will love them as much as I do!

I stayed with the Magnolia theme of course.  I added different elements and punches to vary the look and sentiments.  I have four cards shown, but the box will hold 8 – 10 cards and envelopes.  It depends on the embellishments (AKA dimensionals sticking out!)

I used the same Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper pack.  I wanted to stay with the look of the box, so I have the same paper from the box, the opposite side of that paper, and an additional sheet ( the dark background flower).  The sentiments are all from the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp set.

I paired the sentiments with a variety of punches.  The top left is the Story Label Punch.  The top right is the Layering Circles, as I used on the front of the box.  The bottom left is the New Label Me Fancy punch paired with the Timeless Label Punch.  And the bottom right is the Layering Circles again.

The bottom left card also has an added item.  I used the gorgeous Petal Pink Metallic Ribbon in a loop behind the sentiment.  This gorgeous ribbon is in the Mini Catalog.

Thank you for stopping in again today.  I appreciate it very much and love hearing your thoughts on the cards.  I hope you can picture these same cards in a full size as well as the 3 X 3.  Please come back tomorrow for the Pals Blog Hop!  There will be a lot of great ideas with the theme From The Heart!

Julie’s 3 X 3 card box.

For today’s project I am channeling my friend Julie DiMatteo , The Paper Pixie.  I have put my spin on her adorable 3 X 3 card box.

For my box, I used the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set and matching Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper.  Since Julie used dinosaurs for her box, it should look totally different !  LOL!!

And here it is with the lid off.

This is the link to Julie’s video on how to make the box.  Click HERE.  It is a super video, as always, and extremely easy to make.

My version of the box is made with the Magnolia Suite as I mentioned in the beginning.  I paired it with colors from the DSP.  I used Mossy Meadow as the box base.   My circle layers are from the Layering Circles Dies.  I used the same ones that Julie did in her video I believe.

The Magnolia Lane DSP has quite a bit of white to pair with the Mossy Meadow.  It also has a hint of the Petal Pink.  I stayed with those colors for the layers. I like the scalloped circle for the center,  and the white shows up very well against the pink.  I stamped the flower with the Petal Pink and then the sentiment over top with Mossy Meadow.  The finishing touch was the Champagne Rhinestone, from the Mini Catalog, as the “O” in Today.

I will share with you tomorrow the matching cards I made for the inside.  I stuck with the Magnolia theme.  I have listed all of the products I used in the Supply List at the bottom of the page.  Thank you for stopping in today.  I hope you will come back to see the inside cards tomorrow.

Someone Special

I am not quite over Valentine’s Day cards, even though I have shared quite a few.  I have another one for you today.  This one with a change of colors would work for many other occasions.

I think this little racoon is adorable.  And that is saying a lot since we had a family decide to check out our garage and the cat food!!

I have mixed several products for this card, but only one stamp set.  It is the Special Someone and it so darn cute.  I stamped the racoon base in Gray Granite (probably would have looked better in Smoky Slate) then the second layer stamped in Soft Suede.  The balloon is stamped with Flirty Flamingo for the first stamp and Real Red for the top stamp.

The layers are all from the Rectangle Stitched Dies.  I felt it needed something else, so added the one red heart.  It is the heart out of the Dog Builder Punch.  I angled the sentiment more for a space reason than layout.  Although I like it raised above the other plus it shows off the DSP.  The paper is the From My Heart Designer Series Paper.

Thank you for checking in today.  All of the supplies I used are at the bottom of the page.  Please return next week for more new projects.  And don’t forget about Sale-A-Bration deals as well as the AWESOME JOIN PROMOTION.  You can read about the join promotion in the next paragraph.

By The Dock

I created today’s card to play along with the Global Design Project sketch chalenge.  It is GDP226.  I am being a bit different and going to show you the sketch first.  The sketches do not have to be followed exactly.  What I did is another older technique that as usual I had not used in many years.

And here is my version of the sketch challenge.

To say my card is different is that I took a solid stamped layer and cut it into equal parts.  The design team for this challenge mostly used individual stampings on each of the layers.  The method I chose is one that was used quite often back when I first started stamping.

This stamp set is perfect for masculine cards, or anyone who loves to fish.  There are more women than you probably think that are avid fishermen (fisherperson!)  It is the new By The Dock stamp set. I stamped the pieces in different colors that matched that item.  I then used Stampin’ Blends to color them appropriately.

The ribbon and sentiment are ones I was thrilled with the results.  The ribbon is the Braided Linen Trim.  I did not tie a bow or a regular little knot.  I looped it around, except upside down, like you would for a tag or bookmark.  I wanted the tails down and it took me a minute to figure out how to do it upside down! LOL!!

The sentiment is from the By the Dock stamp set.  I stamped it onto Sahara Sand card stock and then die cut it using a die from the Painted Labels Dies.  I truly hope this die set carries over after the Mini Catalog.  They are perfect for sentiments.

Thank you for stopping in today!  I hope you will return tomorrow for another idea before the weekend.

Bonanza Birthday

I adore the cute little critters in the Bonanza Buddies Suite of products.  I wholeheartedly agree they are for ANY age!!  Hopefully you agree and will give this cute card a try.

I love the Toucan.  He is so cute and struts around saying “look at me”!  I debated between the balloons or gifts as the background from the Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper.  I liked the brighter colors of the gifts to match the proud fellow’s coloring.

The folded tag on the front is a new favorite technique.  I hope you love it as much as I do once I explain it.  I used the tag from the Bonanza Dies but just a little bit differently. I took a piece of Whisper White card stock cut 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 (more because it was what was laying there!) and it happened to fit perfectly.  I folded it in half and layed it on the die.  Where I did not want it to cut on the left side, I used removable tape to hold it in place.  I placed the folded edge of card stock as close against the cutting edge as I could . I wanted the stitched detail to still be there.  It worked perfectly!  Woohoo!  I love when ideas turn out well.

Here is a picture of the inside of the tag.

Because I wanted to be able to open the tag, I could not do a normal loop of ribbon through the hole at the top.  A quick fix was a tiny bow that I secured with a glue dot just above the hole.  This is layered on a full card so you still have the inside for normal sentiment and your love.

Thanks for stopping by today!  All of the supplies I used are at the bottom of the post.  I appreciate any comments and I do respond.  I usually respond to the email and not from my blog.  I am usually on my phone and not the computer after I do my posts.

Heart of Music

Reminder that today begins your opportunity to purchase the New Release Dies and gorgeous Designer Series Paper that pairs with sets from Sale-A-Bration and Mini Catalogs.

I have a #simplestamping card for you today.  This is quick, simple, and adorable!  The #simplestamping is usually Ink/Paper/Stamps.  They are perfect for those new to stamping with limited supplies.  But they are also great for multiples of cards, a quick card, or just a fun cute card.  The Fun and Cute is what I was aiming for today.

This stamp set was the one I wanted first from the Mini Catalog.  It is Dawn Olchefske’s Million Dollar stamp set. I do not have a musical bone in my body, but I do appreciate music and those who can create it.  And I especially love the pieces of this stamp set.  They are especially great for this style of card.

I kept this card to only two layers, which is very unusual for me!!  I sponged Coastal Cabana Ink in the bottom left of the Whisper White card stock.  I then stamped the sentiment and the piano in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  It is my “go to” black ink.  The speckles you see are from “Flicking” the Pool Party Stampin’ Write Marker against it’s cap to splatter the ink onto the paper.  If you do not do it very hard, and you do not need to, it does not hurt the marker tip at all.

As a finishing touch, I did add a heart at the top of the sentiment.  It is one of the Heart Epoxy Drops.  I left it clear instead of coloring it for a softer look.  It may be so soft that you cannot see it in the photo!! 🙂

Thank you for stopping by today!  Please come back tomorrow for another new project.

Nature Thoughts

Tomorrow begins the opportunity for you to purchase the coordinating dies that are being special released.  They coordinate with Sale-A-Bration and Mini Catalog stamp sets.  I have the flyers listed at the end of the post.

To showcase one of these die sets, I am sharing with you the coordination of the Positive Thoughts stamp set from the Mini Catalog and the matching Extra Release Dies named Nature Thoughts.  I hope you like them as much as I do!

I used about half of the dies on this card.  The flower, butterfly, feather, decorative strip, and focal layer are all dies from the set.  The background stamp I used also has a matching die as well as a few other small leaves and flowers.  If you look closely at the Merry Merlot center layer beneath the stamping, you can see some decorative perforations.  It is part of that die.  It is really delicate looking.  I should have used one of the lighter colors so it would have shown better.

The colors I chose for this card are for the FABFRI182 Challenge.  Here is the challenge icon.

This was definitely a challenge to use these colors.  LOL!!  But I love what I ended up with.  I used my Stampin’ Write Markers for the butterfly to show a variety of colors.  I also used them on the feather.  I used the Bermuda Bay and Coastal Cabana and it more blended than showed the two different colors.  I really hate that you cannot order individual Stampin’ Write Markers.  They are so perfect for coloring on the red rubber stamps.

The background leaves are stamped originally in Bermuda Bay ink and then stamped a few times more without re-inking.  I love the look that gives.

Thank you very much for checking out today’s project.  I hope you will return tomorrow for another new one.  And don’t forget the Ultimate Shopping Experience with the Starter Kit and AWESOME Join Promotion currently going on.  Who doesn’t love over $200.00 in products for $99.00!!!  I would love to go over all of the particulars and advantages with you.

Hey Lady !

I have decided to carry on with the Ladybug cards.  I just adore this cute stamp set.  Yesterday’s card was all from the stamp set and matching Ladybug Dies.  You can see that card HERE if you missed yesterday, or go to the gallery at the top of the page. Today I added a few other Sale-A-Bration and Occasions Mini Catalog items.

The basics of the card are the same as yesterday just minus the large flower.  This little ladybug brought her own flower and I added one as well.  This flower is from the Small Bloom Punch that is Free with a $100.00 order in SAB.  (This punch is going to carry over to the next catalog, so it is extra special to get it free!) I punched the flower with Mango Melody card stock. I also colored a Basic Pearl with Real Red Dark Stampin’ Blend Marker for the center of the flower.

I colored a second item with the Stampin’ Blend Marker on this card as well.  Have you noticed what it is?  Besides the ladybug!  If you guessed the ribbon, then you are correct.  The ribbon is the Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon in Whisper White.  I barely touched the Light Call Me Clover Stampin’ Blend to the ribbon and it colored in a snap!  It was pretty amazing.  Realizing I can have any color ribbon I want and in a light or darker shade is super amazing!!  I believe I need to stock up on this ribbon.  It is in the Occasions Mini Catalog.

The last new item I used is the Label Me Fancy Punch.  The sentiment is cut out using it.  I love the shape it gives.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  I will have another new project for you tomorrow.

So Sweet

We are about one third way through the Sale-A-Bration period.  I thought I would give some extra love to some of my favorite pieces.  I am focusing on the Little Ladybug stamp set.

I think the ladybugs are just so darn cute!!  And the best part is the stamp set is FREE with a $300.00 order or a party that totals at least $300.00 where you are the Host.  This is on top of the FREE items you can get for every $50.00 you spend.  Woohoo!!

To make this card even better, I used the soon to be released coordinating Ladybug Dies.  They will be released on February 4th .  You can see the flyer just below the post.  There are a few other coordinating dies for SAB and the Occasions Catalogs.  The beginning of February is a perfect time for a party!!  I hope you will give me a call and let’s set one up.

OK, on to the particulars of the card.  The base is a seldom used color that fit perfectly.  It is Call Me Clover and is an In Color that retires this coming June.  It is a perfect Spring, Saintt. Patrick’s Day type green.  I also used several SAB products for this card.  The black and white DSP is the reverse of a sheet from the Golden Honey Designer Series Paper, another FREE SAB item.

I stamped the images in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored them with my Stampin’ Blends.  They were then die cut using the Ladybugs Dies.  I have them early from a perk for being a Demonstrator.  I raised the ladybug with dimensionals but glued down the flower.

I have a list of all of the colors of Stampin’ blends listed in the Supply List. Thank you for stopping by today.

Congratulations with Poppies

I made this card for a friend’s retirement.  But this card would work for most occasions and comes together in a flash.  The beautiful designer series paper is the focal point.  I hated to cut into this sheet because it looks like something that should be framed!  If I save it then only I get to see it, so I decided to share it with you and my friend for all to enjoy.

Stampin' Up!, Peaceful Moments, Painted Labels, Peaceful Poppies, Jackie Beers

To be so pretty it is awesome to say that this card takes about five minutes to make.  As I mentioned above, the hardest part is cutting this beautiful paper.  I layered it on Poppy Parade Card Stock and then onto Thick Whisper White.

The stamped sentiment is from the Peaceful Moments stamp set.  It is a wonderful group of sentiments and they are in a variety of fonts.  That is something I especially love!  I die cut the Congratulations using one of the dies from the Painted Labels Dies.  Again , that is a “you really need” set of dies!!

The ribbon is from the Annual Catalog and is the Textured Weave Ribbon.  It comes in Poppy Parade, Smoky Slate, and Granny Apple Green.

Thank you for stopping by today.  Please read the Ultimate Shopping Spree information in the following paragraphs.  Plus, you can add the new items that are scheduled for release on February 1 to the starter kit!  Woohoo!!  Let me know if I can help you or answer any questions.
