A Good Day!

It is a rainy day here in the Atlanta area.  But that can still be considered a Good Day!  Today’s card is what I think of as a “pick me up” type card.  It would be great to drop in someone’s lunch or as a random act of kindness.

A Good Day, 145873

If you have not given this A Good Day set a second look, I hope you will.  All of the pieces are just so cute and versatile.  Today I paired it with the Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper.  This is to me a SMILE card.

I made this a 4 X 4 card instead of 3 X 3 because I wanted to see more of the DSP.  I think it adds so much to the card.  The background is stamped in So Saffron ink as a soft watermark type layer.  That stamp is from Lovely Wishes.

The measurements and supplies are listed below.  I hope you have an awesome and Great Day!!

MEASUREMENTS:

  • Base card is 4 X 8 and folded in half
  • The DSP is 3 7/8 X 3 7/8
  • The black layer is 3 X 3
  • The white top layer is 2 7/8 X 2 7/8

Hogs & Kisses

When I was looking through my stamp sets for an idea, I happened upon the “This Little Piggy” set.  I was so happy when this set carried over into the current annual catalog.  But I have not used it very  much lately.  So I dusted it off and have a sweet little card for you.

Stampin' Up!, This Little Piggy, Jackie Beers, stampinup, little piggy, jackiebeers

This Little Piggy, 143922

I used one pig with his sentiment masked off, and then stamped the sentiment from a different pig.  The sitting up piggy is what fit the layout I had in mind.  My photography has not been great of late.  For some reason the colors are not looking true.  The rust color is actually Calypso Coral with Lemon Lime Twist.  I will have to correct that.

In case you are not familiar with the stamp set, the little image on the cross piece is little kisses 🙂  It is part of the stamp set and oh so appropriate for the sentiment.  This card could be a sweet note for someone special or a Valentine’s Day Card as well.  The bonus is that it is super quick and simple to make.

Thank you so much for visiting today.  I hope you have an awesome weekend.  The supplies I used are listed at the bottom of the page.

Friends Fur-Ever

I did something scary yesterday!  I cut apart a stamp !!! That is the first time I have ever done that.  I have seen a few cards with the We Must Celebrate stamp set and the lovable little animals.  And then I saw other demonstrators posting cards with only one of the animals, and another with several stacked on top of each other..  That was my deciding moment.  What do you think of this?

Looking at these cute faces makes me smile.  Since I have been on a coloring kick with the Stampin’ Blends for a while, these cute animals just fit right in.  In a way I think it looks like a kid colored it.  Then I look again and really liked it.  But I hope it gives you ideas for this wonderful stamp set.

The background was totally created with the Stampin’ Blends.  I like the unevenness of the grass and sky.  It gives it some depth without looking too solid.  But more that anything, I just enjoyed coloring and letting my imagination go.  I really hope you will give it a try as well.

Thank you so much for visiting today!  If you have any questions or comments, I would love to hear from you.

So Sweet ! #GDP122

I saw the layout from the current Global Design Project Challenge yesterday and decided I really liked the layout.  So of course I will be submitting a card at the last minute.  The story of my life lately!  This card is super cute and SWEET though!

Stampin' Up!, Fruit Basket, Jackie Beers, stampinup, fruit basket, jackiebeers

Fruit Basket, 145833

Who doesn’t love strawberries???  I even have a strawberry birthmark (thankfully very faded now).  So when I saw this set, I knew I had to have it.  These berries are extremely easy to line up the berry and the cap.  The set is photopolymer which makes it match perfectly.  I added some Wink of Stella to the single berry on the left, but it doesn’t show in the photograph.

I did stamp what I think would be called a “reverse mask” to do the berries outside the basket.  I stamped the basket on scrap card stock and then cut it out.  That way I could have some berries on the table in front of it.

I hope you will give this set a try.  The little fruit pieces have a matching punch set!  Woohoo! I will definitely be using that in my next card.  The supplies I used are listed  the bottom of the page.  If you have any questions, please contact me.  I love hearing from you.

Sweet Thoughts

I hope all of you have had a great Christmas!  We spent the day with friends and just relaxed.  And then I came home and made this card for you all.

Stampin' Up! Friendships Sweetest Thoughts, Jackie Beers, stampinup, friendship's sweetest thoughts

Friendship’s Sweetest Thoughts, 145826

When I first saw this set in the upcoming 2018 Occasions Catalog, I thought it was cute and then passed over it.  But on the second go round (2nd of about 100!)  I gave it another look and said Yes.  I believe it has a lot of possibilities.

COLOR COMBINATION:

This is another fairly monochromatic card.  I love doing these.  Especially with the beautiful designer series paper that Stampin’ Up! offers.  The DSP pretty much makes the card.  All I did was stamp the flowers and color them with the Stampin’ Blends.  I debated on doing a 4 X 4 card, but I loved the DSP and wanted to have it play a larger role.  So I stayed with the regular size A2 card.

Thank you very much for visiting today!  I love your comments.  And if you have not received one of the Occasions Catalogs, or do not have a demonstrator, I would love to assist you with this.  Feel free to comment or contact me.

The supplies I used are listed at the bottom of the page.

Reminder:  There are only a few days left to place your reservation for the stamparatus.  You will receive it before it goes live in the 2018 Annual Catalog in June.

You Are Amazing

Happy November everyone!  Time has flown by this year, especially the Fall.  We are close approaching the Holiday Season.  So before we get too crazy with engagements, shopping, etc., I thought it would be a good time to reinforce the Thank You and Appreciate You type of cards. And my sentiment is definitely one that would show our appreciation for a friend, co-worker, or random at of kindness.

The new Stampin’ Blends are available for you to order beginning today.  So I have CASED a card from the Stampin’ Blends Kit that Stampin’ Up! has created.  It is a wonderful way to get the feel of the blends.

Stampin' Up! Color Me Happy, Stampin' UP! All Things Thanks,

Color Me Happy, 144069

These colors just POP !  I am not very good with the blends yet, but they are beautiful and I know I will have a blast playing with them.

Other than the Night of Navy, I did not really have a color combination I was working with.  I just randomly picked a few pairs of blends (They come with a light and a dark of each color) and started playing.

Tip:  I stamped flowers randomly on a full sheet of Whisper White card stock , colored the flowers, and then cut it into angles and other shapes.  A great way to try the blends and then have a variety of focal points for future cards.

Thank you so much for visiting today!  I very much appreciate it.  If you have any questions about the Stampin’ Blends, or anything else stamping related, please contact me.  I hope you have an AWESOME day !!

My supply list of products I used today are listed at the bottom of the post.
