When looking through the stamp sets for a birthday idea for a stamping friend, I found the perfect set – or sets! What is better than It Starts With Art and Crafting Forever. A win / win.
This card does not scream “Birthday” so it could be for any occasion needed for a crafting or stamping friend. I was thrilled with how the two stamp sets paired so well together. I may have even gone a bit overboard on all the cuteness.
I used the It Starts With Art Bundle (stamps and dies), along with stamps from Crafting Forever. I used the Button Embossing Folder as the background. The embossed and die cut button is from the bundle and has a bow from Baker’s Twine as the string. The ribbon looking strip across the bottom is from the bundle as well.
Before I go, I wanted to give you my thoughts on the New Paper Cutter. I LOVE IT!!!! And I am not just saying that because I want you to purchase it when it becomes available to customers. The cutting blades are awesome. They are very sharp and require no pressure when sliding the blade. I have had to work on that part. The only thing to get used to is the bar itself. It locks into place when it is closed. I had to play with it a bit to figure out how to easily open it. But I think it gets easier the more used and as I get used to the proper way to open it.
Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you are having a good start to your week. Please come back tomorrow for another new project.

I have a project today using the Modern Heart Stamp Set. I have not used it previously. And that was a mistake. I really love all of the stamps in the set. I especially like it when one stamp set is all I need to make a really cute card. And this one has a variety of sentiments to choose from.
This card began with the stamp set and my wanting to use the Shimmer White Embossing Powder. The outline of the heart with all the criss-crossing lines seemed to be perfect for embossing. I added the Night of Navy background that was stamped off a bit first.
The designer series paper is a piece of the Perennial Essence DSP that was left from another project. The Navy in it seemed perfect for the look I had going.
The Shimmer White Embossing Powder has some sparkle to it, but because the lines of the heart are fairly thin, it didn’t show as much as I would have liked. To help this a a bit, I backed the piece with some of the Sparkle Glimmer Paper. It may be a little difficult to see in the photo.
Thank you for visiting again today. Please return on Monday for another new project.

The Magnolia 3D Embossing Folder is one I have been looking at and moving on. Well, not today. It is the star of the show for today’s project. And it does not disappoint.
This is a minimalist type card for sure! I did not want to hide the magnolia. It is embossed on Copper Foil and is really beautiful in person. The foil is hard to photograph because of the light reflecting.
The hummingbird was an idea from a previous card. It is fussy cut from the Mosaic Mood Designer Series Paper. The colors are wonderful to pair with the Copper and Gold Foil. I took the colors of the layers from the hummingbird as well. Garden Green is the perfect between color for the layers.
Today’s sentiment is from Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set. I wanted a smallish sentiment for the front. Again, I didn’t want to cover any more of the magnolia than necessary. It is stamped in Terracotta Tile and I punched it out with the Classic Label Punch and added it for the bird to carry.
Thank you for stopping in today. Please come back tomorrow for another new project!

I adore the Pressed Petals Designer Series Paper! And did you know there is a matching Washi Tape? There is and it is one of a kind!! The Pressed Petals Specialty Washi Tape is the focal point of today’s card.
I apologize for the photo. I know it looks washed out and I am not sure why. I downloaded the Iphone update and it changed some things. Also, what looks like a smudge on the sentiment is actually a shadow from a pearl. Again, I am not liking this new update!!
Anyway!! The focal point is the card is the flower. And it is made from the washi tape. I definitely said WOW the first time I saw it demonstrated. The best part is that it is very simple to make. Here is how I made it:
Begin by punching a circle, I used the 1 3/8 scallop circle because it was handy. Get out your Embossing Buddy. I used my Take Your Pick tool to lift off each petal at the inside point. And holding it like that with my finger and the Tool, I patted the back of the flower against the Embossing Buddy. (Basically you are removing the sticky from the back of the petal but leaving it on the tip section.) Then place the tip part onto the punched circle. Continue all the way around the circle. Then add a few for an inside layer. I then finished it off with the Perennial Essence Floral Center. It may not be totally correct for this flower, but it works for my creative license. 🙂
The sentiment I chose is from the Love What You Do stamp set. The linen look paper is a reverse side of one of the Pressed Petals DSP. I needed to break up the flowers in order to add my flower.
REMINDER: Monday is the last day for the DSP Sale!!
Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you will check out this Pressed Petals Washi Tape and add it to your next order. I would love to see what you create.

I have a sweet magnolia card to share today. I love the Magnolia set and it unexpectedly, to me anyway, worked beautifully with the Woven Heirloom Suite of products.
You know I love this Woven Heirlooms Designer Series Paper since I have used it a few times. But the Heirloom Frames Dies are over the top beautiful! The detail is wonderful and very vintage looking. I like vintage better than just old!
I paired the small flower from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set. The colors don’t exactly pair as well as I thought they would. So I added a touch of Seaside Spray splatter. I think it gave it enough to blend together.
Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s blog hop and all of the great vacation cards. Please come back tomorrow for another new project. Plus there is only another week for the Join Promotion. Check out the information on that in the updates below.

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s August Blog Hop! This year’s Blog Hop themes are inspired by a single word – and this month our projects are centered around VACATION. While many are reminiscing about their summer vacations, others are looking forward to the long weekend just around the corner. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.
If you are a regular visitor to my blog you know that I just returned from an awesome vacation. I did a Viking Riverboat Cruise down the Rhine River. We started the trip with a few days in Amsterdam. Of course this made me immediately think of the Winds of Change stamp set for this Vacation theme. Alas, I have recently made a card using the windmill. I still had to use that set. So here is another Amsterdam memory.
One of the things I love about the various European cities I have been to are the gorgeous flowers everywhere. Amsterdam was especially colorful. And there were bicycles EVERYWHERE !!! The bicycles were more dangerous than cars when crossing streets.
I chose the bicycle as the focal point of my card but wanted a special background as well. So I picked the Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper in the blue pinstripe as my background. I used Memento Tuxedo Ink to stamp the flowers as well as the bicycle. I colored all with the Stampin’ Blends.
I know this seems a bit of an odd color combination. My reasoning was to match the tulips, so I needed a pretty green. The blue for the bicycle was from a movement in Amsterdam. They are adding blue bicycle tires because some believe they make the bicycles easier to see. Apparently that is debatable, but we did see quite a few with blue tires.
Here are a couple of my vacation photos as well.
Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the bloghop, Robyn Myren at Songbird Designs by Robin. There’s lots of inspiration to be found in this group – and you don’t want to miss it!
