My card today is a Get Well card for a sweet friend. They are close to sympathy cards in my book. I am not sure why I have such a hard time designing one. But this one came together very easily. The Thoughtful Wishes Bundle is the star.
Stamp Bundle
This is actually my first time playing with the Thoughtful Wishes Bundle. I originally loved it because of the Thistle and the open weave leaves. The Dies in this set are fabulous in cutting a stamped piece, or individual pieces. And I love the sentiments of the set. The mix of fonts is always a favorite of mine.
Papers
The color choices were totally from the flower colors. So Pretty Peacock as the card base with Berry Burst as the thin layer and the sentiment layer. The flower is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then colored with Stampin’ Blends. However the leaves are another story. I used a piece from the Bright & Beautiful 6 X 6 paper pack. It was a variegated greens that I used to show in place of light and dark coloring of leaves. The paper did it for me!
Extra Products
The Circle that holds all of the details is from the Deckled Circles Dies. I used the 7th from smallest. There are really a lot of these dies! And for the sentiment, I used the Labeled With Love Punch. This punch set is one of the fabulous ideas that Stampin’ Up! has in the Annual Catalog. There are two Bundles that you can choose to get stamps and Dies or stamps and a punch. I love punches, so that was my choice.
To ground the sentiment, I went with the Pretty Peacock and Gold Ribbon. Just a strip of it was plenty for the sentiment to sit on. And the touch of bling comes from the Pecan Pie & Clear Ribbon Adhesive Backed Dots. These clear dots have what looks like the same type ribbon as the Pretty Peacock, just silver, underneath the clear dot. They really are nice.

With allergy season still going strong, I have a reason to use this adorable “Sleeper” stamp set. It is the Speedy Recovery stamp set. Each of the images are fun and not only for illness. The one I chose to use is however.
Stamps
So far from the Speedy Recovery stamp set I have used two of the images. This one is actually for someone who was not feeling well. The other card is an Any Occasion card that I will share later in the week. When I saw this tissue box, I immediately envisioned a real tissue added to it. It only took a tiny corner of a tissue and a drop of glue to adhere to the stamped image. But the depth it gives to the card is definitely worth it in my book.
The sweet and simple sentiment is included in the stamp set also. Fonts are a favorite of mine. And even though this is not a special one. Just having the “clean and simple” look drew me to it.
Dies
The Die set I used is the Stylish Shapes Dies. You have seen them recently and will continue to see them in my cards. They are a mix of circles, squares and a few banners. And best of all is that they are perfect sizes. It is almost like the various square and circle punches Stampin’ Up! used to carry. The Just Right sizes! For the tissue box, I die cut the square from the Evening Evergreen cardstock. And the sentiment is stamped and then die cut from Basic White. To achieve the “stamped through” look, I cut a smaller piece of Basic White to adhere behind the Evening Evergreen square cutout. The tissue box was small enough to easily center inside the opening.
Paper, Etc.
In addition to the Evening Evergreen cardstock I used the Lovely Linen Designer Series Paper. The DSP piece could be for anyone and is a beautiful combination of the Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent. Plus the pattern is simply pretty. For the finishing touch I added a Solid Faceted Gem to the sentiment layer.

I have another quick and easy card where a single Stamp set and the Designer Paper are all you need. Well, this one has another item or two added in!
Stamps
I began this card with the Hand Penned Petals stamp set in mind as the star of the card. That changed a little bit, but I still used the stamp set as a focal point. The flower is stamped directly on the DSP using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. For some people, I know that stamping on the DSP seems a bit odd. Personally, I love it.
The sentiment is also from the Hand Penned Petals. It is stamped and then layered using the Layering Circles and the smallest of the plain and scalloped circles. The only bling is a larger pearl on the stamped flower image.
Paper
These beautiful papers are both from the Hand Penned Designer Series Paper. I love the softness of these two. Actually the strip is the opposite side of the peach polka dot. Using it in place of a piece of ribbon or cardstock seemed a sort of daring thing to do. LOL!!
The layers are Garden Green, to pull the green from the floral strip and Basic White. I tend to use a White layer as a way to break up the DSP and the base color. It works especially well if the two are mostly of the same color.

I am playing along with the Paper Players Challenge with today’s card. It is the first time I have tried one of their challenges and this is a fun one. It is animals and Clean and Simple with lots of white space. If you know my style…..that is not my normal card. I will let you be the judge.
Here is the Challenge banner.
The beginnings of the card is another “Found on my desk” item! You would think by now that I would be down to desktop!! I found the negative to a die cut from the Painted Labels Dies. I used the negative and the new Blending Brushes to make the background. The beautiful blue is the Seaside Spray Ink. It was difficult for me to only use the card base and White!!
The Sloth is from the Back On Your Feet stamp set. I love these sweet images depicting oopsies in our lives. Humor is always a good thing. I stamped the sloth in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored using Stampin’ Blends. I highlighted his bandage with Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blend on the edges instead of leaving it plain. The final touch was just the sweet “Sigh” sentiment from the stamp set.
Now that I completed the card, I find that I really like this Clean look! You may be seeing more of this type card in the future.

I have a lot of Designer Series Paper as I am sure you know. I use it on almost all of my cards. This time of year I begin to panic that I have too much with the Annual Catalog winding down. I had the idea of going through the papers and doing a card using each of the packages. Silly me, that really isn’t going to put a dent in it!!! 🙂
I love the From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper. So it was one of the first packages I picked up. At first you may think it is only for romance or valentine. I do not really think so. It is for any card that comes from the heart.
I saw the sentiment in the Special Someone stamp set and just knew it was a perfect one for our current situation. I think we all need some healing, even if we have not been sick. The Special Someone stamp set has a matching set of dies that came out after the stamp set. I really hope they carry over to the next Annual Catalog. These critters are so adorable.
I stamped the squirrel and then masked the bottom section of the balloon. It was too long for the layer I was planning. I then used the Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Write Marker to make the little loop through his hand. The balloon is stamped and then cut out for a bit of depth.
The sentiment is in two pieces as I have them. I just cut them out with the Classic Label Punch and staggered them in the corner. You can see the left end is the normal Classic Label punched end. The right side I put back into the end of the punch to get the flag look.
The two different DSP are both from the From My Heart DSP. I love using companion pieces to compliment each other.
It may not seem so, but the Mini Catalog and the Annual Catalog are both coming to an end. June is not too far away. The Retiring List should be out around the first of the month. If there are any products from either catalog still on your wish list, now is the time to order. Especially the outgoing In Colors, they tend to go quickly.
I know there are products that are on the Not Orderable List due to the shipping slow down from China. I will let you know as soon as I do when items are available again.

In planning today’s card, I was thinking of using DSP that will be retiring quicker than we think with the end of the Annual Catalog or Mini Catalog. With that in mind, I was looking for a sentiment or focal image that would work alone. I have only used this lovely sentiment one other time. Now is a perfect time for these lovely words.
The sentiment is a favorite that I do not believe I will be getting rid of when it retires. It is perfect for a variety of occasions. It and other equally wonderful stamps are in the Positive Thoughts stamp set in the Mini Catalog.
The DSP is the Perennial Essence and was chosen because I wanted to use my favorite Stampin’ Up! Color. It is the Seaside Spray. I went a bit crazy with it when it first debuted and have made myself use other colors for a while.
I paired the Seaside Spray with my second favorite color which is the Purple Posy. I , like everyone else, was so bummed when the ink color could not be formulated to SU specifications. That did not deter me though. I use it regularly with the card stock as well as the marker and Stampin’ Blends.
The Old Olive was chosen as a compliment to the Seaside Spray and Purple Posy. I love the layers all working together. As a grounding for the butterfly and sentiment, I used the delicate looking edging cut in the Seaside Spray. I ended up covering more of it than I had intended.
The butterfly and the edging is from the Nature’s Thoughts Dies. They were in the release of dies released just after the beginning of the year that coordinated with stamps from the Mini Catalog or the Annual Catalog.
I appreciate you stopping by today. Please come back tomorrow for the Pals April Blog Hop. There will be quite a few great projects for you to hop through.
