Grateful Gift for PALS Blog Hop

Welcome to the November, 2018 Blog Hop with Stampin’ Pretty Pals. Holiday cards are done. It’s time to start on gifts and gift wrap. Let the Stampin’ Pretty Pals inspire you with “Anything But A Card” today.

You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

For my “Gift” idea, I have CASED a fellow Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator from England.  Everyone knows her as Pootles.  I have made her small Explosion Box.  The box I originally saw was sized for a small candle.  I wanted something that someone could give to co-workers or as a Host Thank You, etc.  So I resized it just a tad to fit a K Cup.  Here is my version.  There are several photos from different angles.

I just love this idea!  Pootles had several different sizes of explosion boxes in her YouTube library if you are interested in making them.  I will give you the directions for this one below.

The designer series paper I used on the box is the gorgeous Frosted Floral Designer Series Paper from the Holiday Catalog.  It has a pearly sheen to it.  The photo doesn’t do it justice.  In fact, the sheen is not so great for the photograph.

Thank you for checking on my project today.  I hope you like it and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.  I love hearing from you for any reason.

Get more inspiration using the Blog Hop Line-up below. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created. Don’t forget to show us some love by commenting on our creations.

Mark your calendars for Wednesday, December 12, 2018 for the next Pals Blog Hop. It will be a glitzy affair with All That Sparkles and Shines. Don’t miss the fun.

Treat Holder

I had previously written that I would not be posting while in Orlando for Stampin’ Up!’s 30th Anniversary / Birthday, but I could not resist.  I am sharing a treat holder that I made as a swap or give away, whichever it works out as!

The project actually came from Fellow Demonstrator Dawn Griffith.  She designed it to hold a chapstick.  I love that idea for a small gift, but I saw it and immediately thought a candy treat.  To my pleasant surprise it perfectly holds one of the Merci Chocolates.  Woohoo!!!  So that is what is inside my little container.

Tabs For Everything, 143907

Here is the link to Dawn’s blog post for directions. Click HERE.

I used the Share What You Love Designer Series Paper for my version.  I wish this paper would be around forever!! It is so perfect for 3D projects, as well as cards.  But most of all it is just beautiful.

The cute little “Enjoy” is from the Tabs For Everything stamp set.  This is a much overlooked set that has cute little one word sentiments.  It is on page 49 in the Annual Catalog.  Please give this set a second look.

I topped it off with the Julie DiMatteo / Vera Bradley bow.  It gives the little treat a more refined and finished look.

I also purchased some fundraiser candy bars from a friend’s son.  They are about twice the size of the Merci Chocolates.  I was so proud of myself in being able to figure out the measurements to make a larger size.  These will be given to my fellow Team Members.  I hope everyone is ready for chocolate overload!   Here is the larger version.  I used Takeout Treats stamp set for the same “enjoy” theme.  This one is using the Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper.  It is another thicker, and beautiful, paper.

Thank you for checking back with me.  Tomorrow I will be sharing the swap card I made for an event my upline Brian King is hosting tonight.

The supply list at the bottom of the page includes the products used for the small and larger versions of the Treat Holder.

Hello Everyone !!

I hope I still have my loyal followers here today.  I had an awesome two week vacation in France, but now I am back to share new projects with you.

The weather in France was warmer than expected and I came home to a bit cooler temperatures.  That was an unexpected pleasure.  This put me in the holiday spirits, plus realizing that Halloween is in two days!  Yikes!!!  So I covered all of the upcoming holidays in one project for you.  And it is a quick one as well.

Kraft Pillow Boxes, 147018

I created treat boxes for each of the upcoming holidays.  All of these were really quick.  I could have kept going on each one of the themes.  With the Designer Series Paper, Ribbon, and great seasonal stamp sets, the ideas are just endless for decorating these little boxes.

The great part of these boxes are the price.  You get 10 boxes for $5.00.  That is an awesome deal!  They are large enough to hold a variety of candies or small gifts.  These are fairly basic in the designs.  I can see the beauty in coming up with a theme and creating a basket of these to have by your door for holiday guests or to take to a gathering.

Thank you for visiting today.  I really appreciate you hanging around for my return from vacation.  The supplies I used on the boxes are all listed at the bottom of the post.

Takeout Treats

Today is Not a Card.  It is the adorable box from Takeout Thinlits.  It is shaped like the Chinese takeout containers , but in miniature size.  There are quite a few different ones that you can find on Pinterest, etc. I made this one a little bit ago when my Upline, Brian King, had a challenge on our group Facebook page to post every day.  Since I do not do a blog post on the weekends, I have a couple of cute little projects left over.  But first, I hope you will fall in love with this cute little takeout box.

Takeout Thinlits, 147927

My takeout container is done very simply.  I used designer series paper for the entire box.  Most of the samples you will see utilize the DSP as the layers for the sides.  The dies are awesome for this layering as there is a die that cuts the side layers included in the set.  Yay for Stampin’ Up!

I kept the decoration pretty simple as well.  The heart is an included die and the white heart is cut using that.  I simply adhered the die cut heart to the Fresh Fig card stock and fussy cut around it.  It was not really very fussy cutting!  I then used the 1/8″ handheld punch to punch a hole through both layers.  The cute little ribbon is the Fresh Fig ribbon also.

This adorable little box would hold a handful of Hershey Kisses or a couple of Lindorf Truffles even.  Better yet, a cut little gift!

Thank you for visiting today.  I appreciate it very much.  All of the supplies I used are listed at the bottom of the post

Table Accessories

I have a different type post for you today.  It is paper crafted table accessories.  Wether or not we are ready for the holidays, they are quickly approaching.  This means a variety of special dinners or gatherings.  For me at least, these tend to be more the buffet style.  And that brings me back to the topic.

I paired two super projects together.  The Hand Sanitizer is from Julie DiMatteo (The Paper Pixie) and the silverware holder is my design.  You can see Julie’s post HERE  for her fabulous video tutorial.  I created the napkin/utensil holder based on something a friend had.  I widened it so that it will hold more utensils.  My photo has clear plastic utensils (sorry about that in terms of being able to see them!) and a napkin easily.

Obviously you could change up the colors for both of these projects to suit your occasion.  The utensil holder is great for buffets as I mentioned earlier.  This way everything is together and you do not drop the lose pieces.  And of course, we can always use the hand sanitizer!

I have the measurements for the napkin/utensil holder listed below.  Again, Julie has a great video on making the hand sanitizer holder if you click the link above.  They are both very easy to make and the decorations can be up to you.  I hope you will give them both a try.

Thank you for visiting today.  I very  much appreciate it and hope you will continue to stop by and check out my projects.

MEASUREMENTS:

  • Crumb Cake base is 4 1/4 X 11, scored at 6 and 10.
  • Fold and burnish the scorelines.  The 1″ piece folds to the front.
  • Using Tear & Tape, place the tape against the edge of the section between the two score lines.  Before adhering, place a folded napkin inside. This gives you room for the napkin, etc without tearing the envelope.
  • Prior to taping down the little flap, wrap the ribbon and secure it.
  • The DSP is 3/4 X 4 for the little flap and 3 X 4 for the front
  • Round the top corners wit the Detailed Trio Punch

Post It Note Plus

I always seem to be looking for something to write on, and usually find several post it note holders laying around.  But for today’s project I have combined a Post It Note holder with a space to keep the 3X3 notecards for a Random Act of Kindness.  Yes an odd pairing, but I have both in my purse anyway.  It is designed to keep your little note cards from getting damaged before you can hand them out.

Share What You Love Designer Series Paper, 146926

It was hard to cut into this gorgeous paper!  However, the thickness of the paper is perfect for this type project.  Usually for these holders they are made of card stock and then another layer on top is decorated.  This specialty paper takes away the need for that additional layer because it would be hard to improve on this beauty!  Here are pictures of the inside.  I used a different pattern from the same DSP package for the envelope to hold the cards.

I definitely do not have the touch with these type projects that my friend and fellow SU Demonstrator Julie DiMatteo does. (The Paper Pixie)  But this one is really easy.  I have included the measurements below.  And if you did not want the addition of the note card holder, it is simple to cut the paper without that added length. Simply make it 3 1/2 X 7 7/8 (or 8).   It holds 3X3 size Post It Notes, and 3X3 notecards in their envelopes.

I added magnets to the project to hold it closed.  This can be done with other means, or not at all.

I appreciate you visiting today and love to read your comments.  The DSP special for July is almost over, and unfortunately this DSP I used is not on the sale list.  Sorry about that.  But remember the JOIN Special gets you 10 FREE Ink Pads!!!

MEASUREMENTS and Directions:  There are many videos on the notepad/pen holder portion of this project if my directions are not clear.

  • Base is 3 1/2 X 12
  • Score at 3 1/8, 3 5/8, 4 1/8, 7 7/8, and 8 1/2
  • Fold and burnish on all of the score lines
  • For the pen slot, fold the first three scored sections so that the center one is up and the other two are touching.  Cut 2 times into the scored sections approximately 1/2 apart.  (You should be able to see how to finish that part from the photo)
  • 3X3 envelope: Begin with a 6X6 piece of matching card stock or DSP
  • Using the Envelope Punch Board, punch and score at the 3″ mark.  Repeat this on all four sides, as you would to make an envelope with the board.
  • Now go back and score only at 2 3/4 on all 4 sides.
  • Fold and burnish all of the score lines.
  • Cut away all 4 of the corners.
  • Adhere the envelope together as you would any envelope.  Round the flap you have chosen for the top.
  • To adhere the envelope to the inside of the top flap of notepad: place your 3X3 cards in their envelopes and place them in this envelope.  (It comfortable holds 3)
  • Place Tear & Tape on the back of the envelope and adhere to the inside of the top flap of your pad holder.
