I have a masculine birthday card today. I had not made a card like this in quite a while. But saw one from fellow Stampin’ Up! Demonstrtor Jeanie Stark recently. I looked in my card file I have for different folds and did not find this one. I figured out the measurements as I went along and am really happy with this different fold. After I was finished, I looked on my wall and there was the card I remembered! DUH!
The star of this show is the Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper. I love this sheet from the stack. Those cars remind me of the beach and the Beach Boys songs! The bottom piece of DSP is the opposite side of the paper. I was intending to use the Coastal Weave embossing folder, which is part of this suite of products, but it was not necessary.
The sentiment is from the Timeless Tropical stamp set. I layered it on Mint Macaron using the Timeless Label Punch and the Story Label Punch. It is raised with Stampin’ Dimensionals and does double duty of keeping the top flap down.
Here is a look at the inside.
The inside card pulls out and there is plenty of room to slide a gift card in there as well. If you follow me at all, you know how I love gift card holders! I hope you will give this one a try. I have included all of the measurements below. Please let me know if you have any questions. I will be happy to assist you in making this sweet card.
Measurements:
Base card is 5 1/2 X 8 1/2, scored at 2 1/4 and 6 1/4 (It ends up as 5 1/2 X 4 instead of 4 1/4)
NOTE: The two “flaps” are the same measurements, it does not matter which you choose as the top.
Front flap bases are 5 1/4 X 2 ( you need 2)
Front DSP is 5 X 1 3/4 ( you need 2)
Inside card is 3 1/2 X 4 3/4
When securing bottom flap to hold inside card, lay the card in place before peeling off the Tear & Tape to secure the flap. This ensures you have room to easily slide the card in and out. If you are adding a gift card, lay it down there as well prior to securing.

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s March Blog Hop! During this year’s blog hops, we are enjoying a year of celebrations. Hop, hop! This month’s projects celebrate Easter, so prepare yourself for a variety of gorgeous, Easter-themed projects. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.
I have once again matched the color of the Hop Banner, without knowing ahead of time what it is. Hopefully that is a good sign for my projects I have to share. I rarely do two projects, but I have broken that today.
First here is my card for the Easter theme.
I paired the Cross of Hope Dies, from the Annual Catalog, with the Welcome Easter stamp set . I really love that particular cross from the dies. Those dies are definitely a keeper. My color choices for the card along with the bunny and lamb, come from childhood memories. My Mom loved any shade of purple. So all of my Easter dresses growing up, at least while I was younger, were shades of purple. I knew that had to be the base of my Easter card.
My second project is a little variation of a recent project from The Paper Pixie. Julie’s Easter Mini Gift Bag, you can see her post HERE, was my idea for an Easter basket. The only problem was I didn’t have candy that fit that size. However, I found something that fit perfectly without shortening the size of the basket, which is now a bag.
Can you tell what is inside? Yes, it is a Bath & Body Hand Sanitizer. I know they cannot be found right now. But as a crafter, I had several in my craft room for projects. Now you know that they fit perfectly inside this bag.
I used the Coastal Weave embossing folder and the card stock measurements Julie gives fit perfectly inside the embossing folder. The handle I is the Braided Linen Trim. I have included in my supply list the items used for both projects.
Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop, Ann Murray at Murray Stamps Ink. There’s lots of inspiration to be found in this group – and you don’t want to miss it!
Thank you for hopping along with us. If you get stuck during the Blog Hop, please use this line-up as a guide:

I have a quick “note” card for you today. I adore the Music From The Heart stamp set and this is one of the reasons why. You can make really cute quick cards.
I do not have any musical ability, but I love music and those who can make music. This is the only kind of music that I can play with. I am thrilled with the quick and easy cards this stamp set helps me to create. For this card I added the Flowering Foils Designer Series Paper. It is absolutely gorgeous! And the fact that you can color it is just an added bonus!
I colored the flowers in the DSP with the Rococo Rose Stampin’ Blends. I colored the heart on the inside curl of the note as well. To keep the card simple, I stamped in Smoky Slate Ink and used Smoky Slate as the backing for the two layers. I think Smoky Slate is a great partner to most colors. It works absolutely perfect with the Rococo Rose for this card.
I kept it simple with just the two colors and the gorgeous Flowering Foils Designer Series Paper. I hope you will give this stamp set and this gorgeous paper another look. Since the Flowering Foils DSP is a Sale-A-Bration item; if you order the stamp set, Rococo Rose and Smoky Slate card stock, Smoky Slate Ink, and Rococo Rose Blends Combo pack you have 52.00 and that is 2.00 over what you need to get the DSP FREE! Great Deal! And the ability to make a lot of beautiful cards.
Measurements:
Card base is 5 1/2 X 8 1/2
DSP Base of Smoky Slate is 3 1/4 X 4 1/4
DSP is 3 X 4
Note Base of Smoky Slate is 2 1/2 X 3 1/4
Whisper White is 2 1/4 X 3
Thank you for looking in today. Please come back tomorrow as we are doing the monthly InKing Royalty Blog Hop with the theme of Easter.

I had my Stamping Club meeting yesterday. I think we all needed some relaxing time together! Due to my downtime recently, all of the cards were a little simpler than usual. And there is nothing wrong with a simple card.
For this “Lookin’ Sharp” card, I used a mix of Annual Catalog, Mini Catalog, and Sale-A-Bration products. The adorable stamp set is the Witty-cisms set. It has cute little stamps for a variety of occasions. I just love this one. I think it would work for several different occasions.
I paired the cactus stamp with some greenery, although I guess cactus do not have a lot of greenery around them! Oh well, this one does! I paired it with the Garden Lane Designer Series Paper. I picked up the subtle tan color from the DSP and used So Saffron as the background. I realized this is the first time in a while that I have used that color.
The ribbon is the Daffodil Ruched Ribbon and is a dream to work with. The backing for the cactus is the Special Release Vellum cut using the Painted Labels Dies for the swirl. The punch for the cactus is the Starburst. I think the points match the prickly cactus.
The measurements for the DSP layer are: 3 X 4 1/2 in So Saffron and 2 7/8 X 4 3/8 in the DSP.
Thank you so much for stopping by today! Remember that we are in the last couple of weeks of Sale-A-Bration. There are a lot of great products you can get FREE with a qualifying order. I am sure you questioned my title for today! I suppose I am once again showing my age. Except now there is a new movie titled Invisible Man. When I was young there was a tv show. And I am not off the subject at all…….When I started this card, I intended to use the parts of the Well Dressed stamp set from Sale-A-Bration. As I stamped them I saw I had sort of worked up the body. So a card is born. LOL!
I hope my vision is not totally lost on you. I may have a more vivid imagination. 🙂
I stamped the various pieces from the stamp set and thought it looked like the invisible man, so I stuck with that. Because I had already decided on the Country Club Designer Series Paper piece, I didn’t want to cover it too much . That necessitated the funky cutting around the shoes. I can see everyone’s eyes rolling now! LOL!!
Thanks for visiting today. I hope I haven’t spoiled your weekend with my craziness. I also wanted to share another card using the marker to rubber stamp coloring technique. I talked about that in yesterday’s post.

I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s Pals Blog Hop! There were a lot of adorable critter cards. You can click HERE to see my card again. I played along as well with the Mystery Blog Candy giveaway. You have until noon on Friday to comment on that Blog Hop card for a chance to win. I will post the winner on Friday afternoon.
Today I have switched to a humorous Birthday for a sweet friend. I have used the ladies from the Young At Heart Stamp Set.
The gorgeous Parisian Flourish Embossing Folder has pretty much stolen the show! The details on this embossed image are amazing. I cannot believe I haven’t used it before now. This will be the first of many.
I stamped the image in Gray Granite Ink and then colored with a variety of the Stampin’ Blends. The Purple Posy Blends pair beautifully with the Highland Heather. The base of the card is Purple Posy and the layer is Highland Heather as well.
The sentiment I used for the front is only part of the sentiment. The inside has the full sentiment stamped.
I can definitely relate to the “feeling” the age! LOL!! But back to stamping….. There are two ways to use only part of a sentiment stamp. Actually there are three, the third is to cut the stamp apart. I only do that in drastic measures!! The main two methods are to either color only the section you want with a Stampin’ Write Marker, or for Two is to use a post it note to cover the section you do not want, ink the stamp (remove the post it note) and stamp the sentiment.
I went with the Stampin’ Write Marker method. That is , at least to me, the easiest method to get a partial stamping. I know it is more expensive now to purchase the markers since they are only sold in the color categories. However, it is a great way to get all of the colors without having to purchase all of the ink pads. Also, you can purchase the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker individually. Most of my sentiments are stamped in Black anyway. Just a thought.
Thank you for stopping in today!

Welcome to the Pals’ Blog Hop! We’re so glad you’re here. You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. This month we are celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Pals Blog Hop with “Critters” from the Stampin’ Pretty Pals. Many of the design team members are offering “Mystery Blog Candy” of their choice to 1 lucky winner. To play along, just leave a comment on as many blog posts as desired. A random winner will be announced on a subsequent blog post by each participating design team member. You’ll find the full line-up below to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
I am playing along with the Mystery Blog Candy! So be sure and leave a comment on this post and I will pick a random winner on Friday! WooHoo!!
My “Critter” is a cute little baby chick. I have been surprised by my friends having Grand Babies lately. So I have needed Baby Cards. The Welcome Easter Stamp set is a perfect “Critter” set for all times of the year, and not just Easter. I love versatile stamp sets.
I don’t know if you can tell from the photo, but the chick’s head is raised. I stamped it on the card, but then stamped on a scrap and just cut out the head. It is raised with Stampin’ Dimensionals to give it a bit of depth. It looks really cute in person.
Of course if you follow me very much, you know what my favorite kind of card is. Yes, it is a gift card holder. And this is my “Go To” layout. At least the base of it is. I sometimes just do a flap attached to the left side. Which I could have done with this card and it would look the same from the front. But I decided to add an additional fold. That is why I had to hold it closed for the photo. (I apologize for the bad manicure, I haven’t been since I had surgery!)
Here is a picture of the inside with the added fold and the gift card slot.
Do you recognize the designer series paper i have used? If you guessed the Dinoroar Designer Series Paper then you are correct! I tend to use the opposite sides of the DSP. This was a no brainer as soon as I saw the eggs. We just will not tell anyone that they are dinosaur eggs instead of chicken eggs!!
I will include the measurements and directions after the blog line up. Also the supply list is at the bottom of the post. I hope you will give this sweet stamp set another look. This card is a “One Set” card. I love sets that can stand alone. This is a good one for the beginner stamper up to the advanced stamper!
More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Mark your calendars for Wednesday, April 8th, for our “Special Occasions” blog hop when our Design Team showcase projects for weddings, graduation, anniversary, baby, Mother’s/Father’s Day or any special occasion. Don’t miss the fun!
4 1/4 X 10, score at 5 1/2 and 8 1/4, Fold on all the score lines.
Inside layer base is 5 1/4 X 4
DSP layer inside is 5 X 3 3/4
Front left layer base is 2 1/2 X 4
Front left DSP layer is 2 1/4 X 3 3/4
Second fold card (with chick) is 8 1/2 X 3 1/8, scored at 4 1/4
Chick layer is 3 X 4
Tip: When you fold in the gift card slot, you can add a thumb hole if you want but it is not necessary. However, do put a gift card of card stock piece in the slot as you adhere the sides with Tear & Tape. Otherwise it makes it a very snug fit and bends the front a tad bit.

Hello Everyone! It is so good to be back to stamping! If you are new to me, I had hip replacement surgery two weeks ago. Actually two weeks ago today. I am recovering wonderfully! I have been pleasantly surprised how easy it has been so far. So woohoo!!
It was so hard to know that my stamps were only a floor below me and I had to wait a while to get to them. I made it on Sunday, but didn’t get everything finished. My first card was a Thank You card for a friend who was sweet to include me in an event that I thought I would have to miss.
For a quick card there is nothing better than Designer Series Paper scraps and the Stampin’ Up! Notecards and Envelopes. My desk was left in a bit of a mess. But for once it worked in my favor. The DSP is the Best Dressed Designer Series Paper. It is two sides of different sheets. The scalloped tag is from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. It was also an extra that was leftover from my Stamp Club.
I had stamp club the Sunday before my surgery and didn’t really get everything put away. The DSP, and the extra pieces that I had cut were still on my desk. Easy Peasy for a card! I stamped the sentiment, which is from Dressed To Impress, as is the flowers. The flowers are colored with Stampin’ Blends.
I layered the DSP a variety of ways and then thought of this layout with a scrap square. Perfect fit. A quick and cute card.
Thank you for waiting on me to return! Tomorrow is the Pals Blog Hop, and I was able to get a card made so I will be playing along. As a Bonus for the Hop, some of us are doing Blog Candy giveaways! Please leave a comment on my post tomorrow. (I do love when you let me know what you think of my cards!) But tomorrow leave a comment and on Friday I will choose one person randomly to receive some Blog Candy. I will announce on my blog and then send a seperate email to get your mailing address. So please play along!

This is my first time playing with the Timeless Tulips Bundle. I adore the shading that is built into the stamps. It makes any stamping look very professional.
The stamps I have used are all included in the stamp set. I used all of the flowers and only one of the stems and leaves. I was trying to keep it simple.
The flowers are stamped using Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape. The leaves and stems are stamped in Old Olive. The large flower is stamped onto the white layer, and additionally on a scrap that is punched out using the Tulip Builder Punch. I like to stamp it so that you can see it underneath if it is not exactly lined up.
I stamped the sentiment onto Highland Heather card stock using Gorgeous Grape Ink. The flower with the sentiment is Highland Heather so it is a tad lighter. And I got to use the Label Me Lovely Punch! I love the taller size. This one is different from any of the other punches in that it is taller. I didn’t necessarily need the height here, but it fits what I intended.
To finish off the card I wrapped the Tri Color Ribbon (shades of our gorgeous purples) around the layer. I added the sentiment a bit to the left with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I also added a few pearls around just for some bling!
Thank you for stopping in. I will be back before too long. Please continue prayers for a speedy recovery.
