I have another Birthday card for you today! As I mentioned earlier in the week, I have been behind even on my birthday cards to send out. I hate that. But this card is a super flexible layout. This layout would work for any type of card needed. All you would need to do is change out the sentiment and maybe add some other accessories. Here is the simple version for today.
Eastern Beauty, 143675
I just adore the entire suite of Eastern Beauty! The designer series paper is some of the prettiest that Stampin’ UP! has and the stamp set is one of the most versatile. As you can see from this layout, it does as I mentioned at the top of the post. It would work with pretty much any sentiment and DSP.
I mentioned yesterday about the new STAMPARATUS and want to repeat that information . Oh my, it is the cat’s meow of stamp positioners. I was on my trip when it was debuted and the first reservation period came. But from now to December 30 you can reserve one for yourself. They will begin shipping in March on a first ordered, first shipped fashion. And they will be available in the 2018 Annual Catalog in June. I cannot wait that long though!! For you to reserve your own, go to my website and log in with your account information. Then click on the reservation button under the Stamparatus icon. You can reserve your product now and will not be charged until it ships. There are several videos and other sneak peeks out there for you to checkout. I apologize that my technical difficulties are not allowing me to add that for you here. I hope that will be remedied soon.
Thank you so much for visiting today!! I greatly appreciate your visits and comments. If you have any questions, please do no hesitate to contact me.
I know that is a goofy title….. But I am so happy to be back to my normal routine!!! I hope I still have followers 🙂
I had an Amazing trip to Europe for two weeks. And then came home sick. So I have not had the energy to move, much less go down to my craft room. I hate to have missed blogging for so long and that I wasn’t able to remind you of some awesome sales. But I am back…… And I have links to the Year End Sale, Retiring List, Carry Over List and the Blendies.
So to jump back on the card bandwagon, I have a cute Happy Birthday card to share. Yes, I got behind on those as well. And I really feel bad about missing birthdays! So here is my card.
As usual, my color inspiration came from the Designer Series Paper. I wanted something different from Holiday colors so I flipped through my paper and decided on Whole Lot of Lovely DSP. The blue in this floral is supposed to be more Tranquil Tide than Bermuda Bay. But the different shades match a variety of blues actually. I preferred the brighter and went with Bermuda Bay.
The gifts are stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored with the Blendies. I really do love those pens and I hope you will give them a try. They make coloring so easy!! I used a strip of Bermuda Bay to ground the focal piece as it seemed to get a little lost with all of the floral of the DSP. Sometimes all you need is a little scrap of card stock to finish the card.
I appreciate you hanging in there and waiting on my return to the living! I had a great trip and hate that it ended with me being down for a while. But all is well, and I can’t wait to show you some of the latest cards and ideas I have.
The products I used today are listed at the bottom of the post. You can click on any item and be taken directly to my online store. I hope you have a great day!!!
The card I designed for today is my first one with this super cute set from the Holiday Catalog called Hug In A Mug! Who would not love a Hug In A Mug? I adore that name. The set seems to be a little bit of a sleeper set possibly due to the Coffee Cafe in the Annual and then the seasonal coffee in the Holiday Catalogs. But this one is just really cute. I hope you will give it a look.
Hug In A Mug, 144933
This card is a CASE from one of the Make ‘n Takes we did at World Card Making Day. I loved the mug of steaming cocoa with the sentiment. I added the hearts to the Pool Party layer to go along with the sentiment also. Because of the quilt and the sentiment, I believe this card could be used for so many occasions. A hug and a quilt are just year round love!
I have paired the stamp set with the Quilted Christmas 6 X 6 Designer Series Paper. This quilt pattern just emphasizes the Hug! At least that is what I think of when I see a hand quilted quilt. Also it brings back wonderful memories of my childhood!
These are the unlikely trio of colors I used for this card. I would have never added the Lemon Lime Twist to these other two. I did pull all three colors from the DSP. And since it works in the DSP, it must work here. I thought it would make the sentiment POP. I hope you agree…..otherwise you are probably thinking I have lost my mind ! LOL…

I must say that I loved this stamp set from the first time I saw it. I love wine decorations and this set reminds me of that. I believe it is appropriately named – Half Full. I spent yesterday playing with my stamps and made a couple using this set. Here is my favorite.
This card came together so easily. The wine just had to be a red or muscadine, so I went with Fresh Fig for the wine color and focal color. And since I colored the grapes on the tag, Old Olive was a natural. And that was that. I stamped the wine glasses onto the Old Olive card stock with Old Olive ink.
When I first saw the tag I wondered if it matched our Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. It is not mentioned in the catalog as coordinating with it. Well….. yes it does!! Woohoo!! I love unexpected surprises. Of course the way my bow is positioned you cannot tell that the white layer behind the tag is punched with the Scallop Tag Topper , but it is.
The supplies I used today are listed below. If you click on any item you will be taken directly to my online store. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. I would love to assist you with your stamping questions or supplies.

I did a technique on today’s card instead of a lot of stamping. The Direct To Paper Technique has been around forever. It works best on Glossy card stock, and SU has recently brought Glossy back to our catalog. YAY!! So I thought I would share the technique with you. I have added a little twist to it. I have the spotlighted the first card and then the three in a group photo are further down.
Glossy Card Stock, 144240
The Direct To Paper technique is like making your own Designer Series Paper. You simply swipe the ink pad across your card stock. I used just the edge of the pad and made a random swoosh. How easy is this???
The twist I mentioned is that instead of using the regular ink pads, I used the Stampin’ Spots. The ones I used are from my Paper Pumpkin kits. (Yet another reason to join the Paper Pumpkin monthly kit club!!) Although you can purchase Uninked Stampin’ Spots in the catalog and ink them using your Classic Stampin’ Ink Refills. I prefer the spots as it gives me a little more control. But it is personal preference and depends on the look you want to achieve. This is another technique that will never look the same way twice! Love that !!
Island Indigo has always been a favorite of mine, and when I added these two colors with it I was in Love!. FYI, if you are unfamiliar with Glossy card stock, it does make the colors look a little dull instead of bright.
I made two 1/4 sheet backgrounds, and then cut one into two squares for the 4 X 4 cards. Here are the three cards I made while I was playing.

I apologize for the glare on the full size card, my lighting is not great. But I hope you will give this technique a try again ,or for the first time.

I have a very classic, with a twist, Happy Birthday card for you today. This is a stamp that I believe is a must have for anyone’s stamp collection!
Stylized Birthday, 141828
Do you see my twist? The bright Lemon Lime Twist really makes it pop. I am enjoying using the knew Leaf Punch, (You got another sneak peek!), as an embellishment. This is a quick and easy card that requires very little supplies and would be a perfect card to duplicate in a variety of colors.
