Masculine Birthday

My title may be a bit misleading.  This does not have to be a masculine birthday card.  It just is not a “frilly” birthday card.  Plus, I tried to be more generic in the colors I chose.  I used the Hello Cupcake stamp set from Sale-A-Bration because it seems to lend the more simpler, less frilly, air about it.  You can decide for yourself though.

Hello Cupcake, 149714

Hopefully you can see the possibilities with this set even though I went with a simpler version.  Bright colors would make this a really fun and young card.  I will try that next.  Since I have been using really bright colors, I thought I would go for the more light and generic colors today.

This is a one stamp set card.  Those are great for quick , take on vacation, and beginner stampers who do not have a lot of products.  Truthfully, I love to make one set cards.  I believe it really shows the value of a set when you can make a card, or more, using only that set.

COLOR COMBINATION:

The only non-simple thing I did on this card, and actually it is a simple thing to do!!!!  I stamped the icing on the layer and then on a scrap of paper.  I cut out the one on the scrap and raised it with dimensionals to give some depth to hang over the base of the cupcake.  The sprinkles are stamped in Mossy Meadow on the Soft SeaFoam, but left uncolored.  To tie the base of Crumb Cake to the greens, I wrapped Linen Thread (One of my all time favorite go tops!) around the stamped image layer.  The bow is tied separately and attached with a glue dot.  ***Another trick I learned long ago, when I discovered how difficult it is to tie a bow on a continuous length of ribbon and have it lay properly!

MEASUREMENTS:

  • Base is 4 1/4 X 11
  • Layer is 4 X 5 1/4
  • Layer is 2 3/4 X 4 1/8
  • White Layer is 2 5/8 X 4

Thank you for visiting today!  I hope you will return tomorrow for another fun card.  As always, the supply list is at the bottom of the post.

Piece of Cake

From myself to several friends, this past year has been a milestone birthday year.  I did not originally think of that when I began planning today’s card, but when I chose the final DSP to use it hit me.  I am sometimes slow that way.  However it worked out, this card would be perfect for a milestone of any kind.

Stampin' Up!, Piece of Cake, Amazing Life, Broadway , Jackie Beers

Piece of Cake Bundle, 150579

Do you see what I mean?  The black, silver, and gold would work for most special birthdays.  I love this Broadway Bound Designer Series Paper.  The gold foil is just awesome.  And of course the two different stamp set, bundles, I used were my must haves from the Occasions Catalog.

I mixed these two great sets, Piece of Cake, and Amazing Life, to get just the right look.  The sentiment is from Amazing Life and the cake is from Piece of Cake.  I adore the punch, but I am partial to punches anyway.  This one is so easy to line up with the cake.

I will say I used Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets for the cake stand and that little strip of  gold foil separating the DSP and the stamped images.  Both wold have been a tad difficult to add glue to.  At least for me anyway!  I felt the little strip was the perfect divider and love the finished look that it gives the card.

Thank you for stopping by today!  I really do appreciate it.  I have all of the supplies listed at the bottom of the post, as well as the measurements just below here.  And please don’t forget the Join Promotion!!

  • DSP is 3 7/8 X 2 1/2

It’s Your Day!

I have mixed old and new in today’s project.  I am always so happy when I do this and and am reminded of how Stampin’ Up! ink and paper coordinate.  For me, that is one of the greatest things about the products.

I have mixed new stamp sets from the Occasions Catalog with Designer Series Paper and card stock from the Annual Catalog.  Be prepared…..it is another BRIGHT card!

Stampin' Up!,Birthday Cheer, Itty Bitty Birthdays, Animal Expedition, Jackie Beers

Birthday Cheer Bundle, 150576

I do not believe you could look at this card and not smile.  And I love that!!  I looked for bright DSP to base the card on and I knew this was the one as soon as I looked at it.  It is from the Animal Expedition DSP pack.  It is another of the “opposite” sides that I really love.  I pulled the Lemon Lime Twist and Berry Burst from the DSP.  I added the layer of white to sort of ground all the bright though.

I love this Birthday Cheer Bundle and the versatility of the this set and matching dies.  They can be used for more than birthdays and are great for any age.  I love the tag in the die set and used the “It’s Your Day” from Itty Bitty Birthdays to add another layer of fun to the card.  It does not reflect well in the card, but I used my patented 🙂 drag the marker around the white card stock technique to give a bit of a border to the tag.

As I was adhering the layers, I felt like it needed just a bit of something else.  I solved that problem with the Glitter Enamel Dots.  Again, I feel like the pieces all pair perfectly.

Thank you for visiting today.  I very much appreciate it.  I have the Ultimate Shopping Experience explained just below.  And the complete supply list is at the bottom of the post.  I hope you have a great week!

Needle and Thread Gift Card Holder

I have another Gift Card Holder to share with you today.  They are one of my most favorite things to make.  That is partly because I use them quite often.  Because of that, I like to do different versions so the recipient doesn’t think I only know how to make one kind.  Plus they are just fun to do!!

Needle & Thread, 148724

Isn’t this designer paper precious?  It is the Needlepoint Nook Designer Series Paper.  Of course it is part of the Need & Thread suite of products.  The stamp set is Needle & Thread and looks like needlepoint in the stamped flowers.  I know the photograph doesn’t show it very well.  The flowers on the DSP look like fabulous embroidery, and the colors are very vibrant.  It seems like you should be able to touch the threads!

The outside of this card with the double fold, looks similar to a gift card and regular card fold that I have done several times.  But I normally do not put matching DSP on each of the sides so it looks like a Gate Fold.  I CASED this from a gift card holder I found on Pintrest by Michelle Wright, another Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator.  The inside is different from her version though.  It is similar to ones I have done in the past.  Especially the holder for the gift card.  Here is the inside view.

I like to make sure my gift card is not going to accidentally fall out of the card.  The end with the card is my preferred method for placing the gift card.  The raised circle on the right DSP piece is what you see on the front and what helps hold the card closed.  TIP:  When you are placing that circle , only put dimensionals on the one side of the circle to allow room for the flap to fit under it.  I have all of the measurements listed below.

Thank you for visiting today!  I very much appreciate it and hope you will return tomorrow.  All of the supplies are listed at the bottom of the page.

Measurements:

  • Card base is 4 1/4 X 11, scored at 2 3/4 , and 5 1/2
  • On the 2 3/4 scored end, trim off 3/4″
  • Fold and burnish the score lines.  The 2 3/4 end folds to the inside.
  • Use the 1 1/4 circle punch to punch a half circle as a finger groove
  • Apply tear& tape to the very edges on each side of the section. Place the gift card holder, or a business card, inside as you adhere that piece. That insures you have room for your gift card without stressing the paper.
  • Cut 3 card stock pieces at 2 1/2 X 4
  • Cut 2 DSP pieces at 2 1/4 X 3 3/4
  • Cut 1 white card stock at 2 1/4 X 3 3/4 for the message inside
  • Front color card stock is 3 X 3
  • Front white card stock is 2 3/4 X 2 3/4

Friday Sneak Peek

I am a bit late in showing Sneak Peeks of the upcoming Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalog .  So today I have Fresh Friday!  A new card with new products, and sort of a new layout.  So here we go!

Stampin' Up!, Piece of Cake, Birthday Cheer, Frosted Flower, Happiness Blooms

Piece of Cake Bundle, 150579

Do you think this card is cheery enough?  LOL!  I started with this gorgeous DSP from the Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper.  I have always loved the Pineapple Punch and this was a great way to use it as a background and focal point at the same time.

The sentiment and punched cake are the Piece of Cake Bundle.  It is a must have!  The adorable little flower is Frosted Flower Embellishments and is perfect for the little bit of addition to the cake.  Even better, it comes with adhesive attached.  Woohoo!!

The cake and cake stand are punched from a Sale-A-Bration freebie of Grapefruit Grove & Lovely Lipstick Foil Sheets.  Ordering the paper and Stamp / Punch Bundle pretty much get you to the $50.00 needed for the Free foil sheets.  So bookmark all of this for the January 3 go live date!!!

Thank you so much for visiting today.  I hope you have a great weekend and Christmas.  I will be here and please stop in if you have a chance.  Almost all of the supplies are listed at the bottom of the page.  I could not grab the Frosted Flower Embellishments, and the Birthday Cheer stamp set.  That is the background that is stamped on the Pineapple strip.
