Welcome to InKing Royalty’s February Blog Hop! During this year’s blog hops, we are enjoying a year of celebrations. This month’s projects celebrate birthdays, so prepare yourself for a wonderful mix of celebratory cards. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.
My card is for celebrating. I have made it as a birthday card, but it would work for a variety of events. I cased it from page 50 of the Mini Catalog. The thing that first caught my eye, was the Circle Tab Punch for the pull out tab. I have not used it lately except for tabs for my catalogs. The thought of using it on a card again was exciting. I do love my punches.
And here is a picture of the inside of the card.
In the catalog, this card is an invitation. I rarely need invitations, but loved the pull out element. I liked the card and layout so much I actually made two of these cards . Both are using the Under The Umbrella Bundle of products. The only change in the two are the colors I used. Here is the second version.
For both cards, I used the Under The Umbrella Bundle. This bundle is a stamp set and punch. I also used the Pleased As Punch Designer Series Paper for the umbrella on the pull out piece. The flower is punched from the Pleased As Punch DSP also using the Small Bloom Punch from Sale-A-Bration.
After I adhered the pocket together, I used the Detailed Trio Punch to round the corners of the pocket. For the purple card, I also rounded the corners of the insert. I did not do that on the Pool Party version. I think I like the insert rounded best.
The umbrella on the inside of the Pool Party card is the multi colored flower one. The “Love” tag on both is from the Cup Of Cheer Dies ( which happily carried over!) I love that tag. And the next SAB release for March has a new matching stamp set for those dies! Woohoo!
This card is actually very quick to do. I have two pictures and directions for cutting the angle. I will place that beneath the Blog Hop List. Some people may not be interested in the how to make it. Shocking I know!!LOL!! The supplies I have listed are for the purple version.
Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop, Robin Myren at Songbird Designs by Robin. There’s lots of inspiration to be found in this group – and you don’t want to miss it!
Card Directions: The card stock is 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4, like a normal card. After scoring, but before folding, place on the trimmer with the scored line on the cutting track. Use the ruler on the blade holder and score down 1″. Turn the card the opposite direction and cut from the end of the first cut across the card. You are removing a 1″ section from the top of the front piece of your card. Next, angle the cut edge up above the cutting track to that 1″ mark on the cutter. See picture:
You can see from the picture what I meant about cutting the 1″ section away from the top of that right side. After getting the top edge lined up at 1″ mark, make sure the score line cut intersection is on the cutting track. Now cut that piece off. See picture.
Now you have your angled card. I used Tear & Tape around the bottom and outside edge (place it on the top layer). The inside white layer measures 3 3/4 X 4. 4 is the height. Place that piece inside the pocket, well away from the tape, when securing the card. This insures you have a little extra room for ease of inserting and removing the tabbed card. If I have confused you…..please contact me and I will be happy to explain further.

Today I am sharing one of the New Release Sale-A-Bration Items. It is subtle on the card, and that is a great definition of the item. Have you guessed what it is? Yes, It is the So Very Vellum. And it is more beautiful in person. I love the soft colors.
The vellum comes with this embossing already done for you. All of the sheets have the same embossing. The vellum I chose for the background is the Soft Sea Foam one. I used the Highland Heather Vellum for the flowers. They are die cut using the Dies from Forever Blossoms Bundle. The embossed vellum gives an added definition to the petals.
The stamp is from the Forever Blossoms stamp set. It also is die cut using the bundled dies. That is such a great focal point for any design you could come up with.
I stamped in Smoky Slate Ink and then colored with Soft Sea Foam and Purple Posy Stampin’ Blends. For the bow, I used the Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon. It is simply wonderful to work with. I don’t usually do multiple loops with ribbon, but this is so silky and thin I went for it.
Thank you for stopping in today. I have new projects each day to share with you. And this coming Wednesday is the InKing Royalty Blog Hop, you will not want to miss that.
Sale-A-Bration is heading towards the final month. Please don’t miss out on a great opportunity to get an awesome amount of product for very little money! And the fun of joining my team, as well as InKing Royalty. We share a great community of stampers and you could be part of it!!

I am not quite over Valentine’s Day cards, even though I have shared quite a few. I have another one for you today. This one with a change of colors would work for many other occasions.
I think this little racoon is adorable. And that is saying a lot since we had a family decide to check out our garage and the cat food!!
I have mixed several products for this card, but only one stamp set. It is the Special Someone and it so darn cute. I stamped the racoon base in Gray Granite (probably would have looked better in Smoky Slate) then the second layer stamped in Soft Suede. The balloon is stamped with Flirty Flamingo for the first stamp and Real Red for the top stamp.
The layers are all from the Rectangle Stitched Dies. I felt it needed something else, so added the one red heart. It is the heart out of the Dog Builder Punch. I angled the sentiment more for a space reason than layout. Although I like it raised above the other plus it shows off the DSP. The paper is the From My Heart Designer Series Paper.
Thank you for checking in today. All of the supplies I used are at the bottom of the page. Please return next week for more new projects. And don’t forget about Sale-A-Bration deals as well as the AWESOME JOIN PROMOTION. You can read about the join promotion in the next paragraph.

I created today’s card to play along with the Global Design Project sketch chalenge. It is GDP226. I am being a bit different and going to show you the sketch first. The sketches do not have to be followed exactly. What I did is another older technique that as usual I had not used in many years.
And here is my version of the sketch challenge.
To say my card is different is that I took a solid stamped layer and cut it into equal parts. The design team for this challenge mostly used individual stampings on each of the layers. The method I chose is one that was used quite often back when I first started stamping.
This stamp set is perfect for masculine cards, or anyone who loves to fish. There are more women than you probably think that are avid fishermen (fisherperson!) It is the new By The Dock stamp set. I stamped the pieces in different colors that matched that item. I then used Stampin’ Blends to color them appropriately.
The ribbon and sentiment are ones I was thrilled with the results. The ribbon is the Braided Linen Trim. I did not tie a bow or a regular little knot. I looped it around, except upside down, like you would for a tag or bookmark. I wanted the tails down and it took me a minute to figure out how to do it upside down! LOL!!
The sentiment is from the By the Dock stamp set. I stamped it onto Sahara Sand card stock and then die cut it using a die from the Painted Labels Dies. I truly hope this die set carries over after the Mini Catalog. They are perfect for sentiments.
Thank you for stopping in today! I hope you will return tomorrow for another idea before the weekend.

I adore the cute little critters in the Bonanza Buddies Suite of products. I wholeheartedly agree they are for ANY age!! Hopefully you agree and will give this cute card a try.
I love the Toucan. He is so cute and struts around saying “look at me”! I debated between the balloons or gifts as the background from the Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper. I liked the brighter colors of the gifts to match the proud fellow’s coloring.
The folded tag on the front is a new favorite technique. I hope you love it as much as I do once I explain it. I used the tag from the Bonanza Dies but just a little bit differently. I took a piece of Whisper White card stock cut 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 (more because it was what was laying there!) and it happened to fit perfectly. I folded it in half and layed it on the die. Where I did not want it to cut on the left side, I used removable tape to hold it in place. I placed the folded edge of card stock as close against the cutting edge as I could . I wanted the stitched detail to still be there. It worked perfectly! Woohoo! I love when ideas turn out well.
Here is a picture of the inside of the tag.
Because I wanted to be able to open the tag, I could not do a normal loop of ribbon through the hole at the top. A quick fix was a tiny bow that I secured with a glue dot just above the hole. This is layered on a full card so you still have the inside for normal sentiment and your love.
Thanks for stopping by today! All of the supplies I used are at the bottom of the post. I appreciate any comments and I do respond. I usually respond to the email and not from my blog. I am usually on my phone and not the computer after I do my posts.

Today I have a quick Birthday card to share using the Pressed Petals Designer Series Paper and a wonderful new punch.
I had this Blackberry Bliss Stitched Rectangle frame laying on my desk from a previous card and decided to put it to use. I cut the Pressed Petals DSP to fit the frame and my card was started. As a play on the petals, I used the Layered Leaves Embossing Folder to emboss a Pear Pizzaz layer.
The focal point, I believe, is the new Label Me Lovely Punch. I love that it is more square and will fit a taller sentiment. The sentiment is from the Layered With Kindness stamp set from the Mini Catalog. It is stamped in Mossy Meadow but the decorative part is outlined with Dark Rococo Rose Stampin’ Blend. I anchored the sentiment with the Rococo Rose Scalloped Linen Ribbon.
Thank you for stopping in today. I love using leftover pieces for a card. I hope you do as well. Before you go, please check out the Ultimate Shopping Spree I have outlined below. I would love to talk with you about it.
