Birthday Kindness

I have a sweet Birthday card to share today made with mostly Retiring Products.  I love how it turned out with the Mosiac Mood Designer Series Paper.  And the Layered With Kindness stamp set has such beautifully distinctive stamps.

I am sad now that I had not used this stamp set more.  The “Distinctive” look to those leaves are so pretty.  The little flowers are topped with the Champagne Rhinestones, which will be carrying over to the new catalog.  Sadly, they are on backorder right now though.

The sentiment is from the stamp set and is stamped twice.  I stamped it on the Pear Pizzaz with Pear Pizzaz ink.  I then stamped it again on Whisper White with Grapefruit Grove Ink.  I used the Label Me Fancy and Label Me Lovely Punches to layer together.

I posted a second post yesterday about Stampin’ Up!s Giving Back Digital Download stamps for the Covid-19 relief.  The stamps are so adorable.  You can click on the picture below and be taken to the site to order your download.

Thank you for stopping in today.  I hope you have a great day.

Below are links to the two Retiring or Last Chance Lists.  Keep in mind, a Bundle may retire, but the stamp set and dies or punch can still carry over.  So look for the individual item.  Also, all of the Stampin’ Blends are not retiring.  It is only that in the new catalog, they will be sold in the combo pack only.  The only ones retiring are the 2018-2020 In Color ones.

You may also click on the Shop Now on my Menu bar and be taken to my online store.  There you can see all of the Retiring / Last Chance items as well as all other products.

Birthday Cheer

I have a quick #simplestamping card to share with you today.  I was playing with the Follow Your Art Designer Series paper for a different project and had the idea for this card.

Stampin' Up!, Follow your art, Parcel & Petals, #simplestamping, Jackie Beers

This is such gorgeous designer series paper.  I love this sheet especially.  The little cross band is a piece from this pack as well.

The sentiment and flowers are from Parcel & Petals stamp set.  I stamped off with the flowers before stamping on the paper.  I love the sentiment itself so wanted it to be front and center.

I pulled all of the colors from the DSP .  They are Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana, and Daffodil Delight.

Thank you for stopping in today.  We may prefer the more layered or dimensions to a card, but I think it is nice to just sit down for a quick break to make one as well.  This card is a great way to use some of the leftover or retired designer series paper.

Barbecue Birthday

I have a difficult time of designing a masculine card.  From posts I read, I believe that to be true for a lot of us.  Today I am sharing one that pairs two very common “guy” items.

I paired the Outdoor Barbecue stamp set with the country Club Designer Series Paper for a bright guy birthday card.  And yes……I know women play golf and barbecue!  LOL!!!  But, these were two products that I had not previously used.  And since I was thinking masculine, it is what I created.

I love the sentiment from the Outdoor Barbecue stamp set !  It brings to mind “fire” and we have definitely had many of those on our back deck!  But the brightness of the Country Club DSP is a perfect pairing for the barbecue.  I love bright colors, but if you do not, there are other more subdued “argyle” prints as well as golf themed prints.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you are able to get some crafting in during this difficult time of separation.

Tropical Birthday

I have a masculine birthday card today.  I had not made a card like this in quite a while.  But saw one from fellow Stampin’ Up! Demonstrtor Jeanie Stark recently.  I looked in my card file I have for different folds and did not find this one. I figured out the measurements as I went along and am really happy with this different fold.  After I was finished, I looked on my wall and there was the card I remembered!  DUH!

The star of this show is the Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper.  I love this sheet from the stack.  Those cars remind me of the beach and the Beach Boys songs!  The bottom piece of DSP is the opposite side of the paper.  I was intending to use the Coastal Weave embossing folder, which is part of this suite of products, but it was not necessary.

The sentiment is from the Timeless Tropical stamp set.  I layered it on Mint Macaron using the Timeless Label Punch and the Story Label Punch.  It is raised with Stampin’ Dimensionals and does double duty of keeping the top flap down.

Here is a look at the inside.

The inside card pulls out and there is plenty of room to slide a gift card in there as well.  If you follow me at all, you know how I love gift card holders!  I hope you will give this one a try.  I have included all of the measurements below.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  I will be happy to assist you in making this sweet card.

Measurements:

  • Base card is 5 1/2 X 8 1/2, scored at 2 1/4 and 6 1/4  (It ends up as 5 1/2 X 4 instead of 4 1/4)
  • NOTE:  The two “flaps” are the same measurements, it does not matter which you choose as the top.
  • Front flap bases are 5 1/4 X 2 ( you need 2)
  • Front DSP is 5 X 1 3/4 ( you need 2)
  • Inside card is 3 1/2 X 4 3/4
  • When securing bottom flap to hold inside card, lay the card in place before peeling off the Tear & Tape to secure the flap.  This ensures you have room to easily slide the card in and out.  If you are adding a gift card, lay it down there as well prior to securing.

Invisible Man

I am sure you questioned my title for today!  I suppose I am once again showing my age.  Except now there is a new movie titled Invisible Man.  When I was young there was a tv show.  And I am not off the subject at all…….When I started this card, I intended to use the parts of the Well Dressed stamp set from Sale-A-Bration.  As I stamped them I saw I had sort of worked up the body.  So a card is born.  LOL!

I hope my vision is not totally lost on you.  I may have a more vivid imagination. 🙂

I stamped the various pieces from the stamp set and thought it looked like the invisible man, so I stuck with that.  Because I had already decided on the Country Club Designer Series Paper piece, I didn’t want to cover it too much .  That necessitated the funky cutting around the shoes.  I can see everyone’s eyes rolling now! LOL!!

Thanks for visiting today.  I hope I haven’t spoiled your weekend with my craziness.  I also wanted to share another card using the marker to rubber stamp coloring technique.  I talked about that in yesterday’s post.

Young At Heart

I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s Pals Blog Hop!  There were a lot of adorable critter cards.  You can click HERE to see my card again.   I played along as well with the Mystery Blog Candy giveaway.  You have until noon on Friday to comment on that Blog Hop card for a chance to win.  I will post the winner on Friday afternoon.

Today I have switched to a humorous Birthday for a sweet friend.  I have used the ladies from the Young At Heart Stamp Set.

The gorgeous Parisian Flourish Embossing Folder has pretty much stolen the show!  The details on this embossed image are amazing.  I cannot believe I haven’t used it before now.  This will be the first of many.

I stamped the image in Gray Granite Ink and then colored with a variety of the Stampin’ Blends.  The Purple Posy Blends pair beautifully with the Highland Heather.  The base of the card is Purple Posy and the layer is Highland Heather as well.

The sentiment I used for the front is only part of the sentiment.  The inside has the full sentiment stamped.

I can definitely relate to the “feeling” the age!  LOL!!  But back to stamping…..  There are two ways to use only part of a sentiment stamp.  Actually there are three, the third is to cut the stamp apart.  I only do that in drastic measures!!  The main two methods are to either color only the section you want with a Stampin’ Write Marker, or for Two is to use a post it note to cover the section you do not want, ink the stamp (remove the post it note) and stamp the sentiment.

I went with the Stampin’ Write Marker method.  That is , at least to me, the easiest method to get a partial stamping.  I know it is more expensive now to purchase the markers since they are only sold in the color categories.  However, it is a great way to get all of the colors without having to purchase all of the ink pads.  Also, you can purchase the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker individually.  Most of my sentiments are stamped in Black anyway.  Just a thought.

Thank you for stopping in today!
