A Good Day!

It is a rainy day here in the Atlanta area.  But that can still be considered a Good Day!  Today’s card is what I think of as a “pick me up” type card.  It would be great to drop in someone’s lunch or as a random act of kindness.

If you have not given this A Good Day set a second look, I hope you will.  All of the pieces are just so cute and versatile.  Today I paired it with the Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper.  This is to me a SMILE card.

I made this a 4 X 4 card instead of 3 X 3 because I wanted to see more of the DSP.  I think it adds so much to the card.  The background is stamped in So Saffron ink as a soft watermark type layer.  That stamp is from Lovely Wishes.

The measurements and supplies are listed below.  I hope you have an awesome and Great Day!!

MEASUREMENTS:

  • Base card is 4 X 8 and folded in half
  • The DSP is 3 7/8 X 3 7/8
  • The black layer is 3 X 3
  • The white top layer is 2 7/8 X 2 7/8

Birthday Brew

This is my first time using the Bubble Over Bundle.  I really wish I had played with it sooner.  It is perfect for layering.  There are dies for almost every piece of the stamp set, plus a few extras.  I made a simple card with a little twist to the fold.  It is sort of a side/gate fold card.

Please excuse my finger!  The card did not want to stay closed to have it’s picture made.  It is propped up and was misbehaving!    I made the card pretty plain, with the bottle as the focal point.  I had intended to clear emboss the bottle label, but then glued it down before I remembered to do it.  Duh!!

I have the measurements for this off center fold further down in the post.  I used several products, but they are not necessary.  The Ticket Tear Border Punch could easily be a straight piece of card stock.  I added it to mimic the edge of the bottle cap.  That was my thoughts on using the scalloped ovals instead of straight ovals.

If you have any questions about this card, please do not hesitate to contact me.  I love to hear from you!  And I would especially like to talk with you about joining my Stampin’ Up! Team!!  There are great incentives right now.

MEASUREMENTS:

  • Base card of Island Indigo is cut 4 X ll
  • Score the base card at 2, and & 1/2, fold and burnish
  • The layer is cut to 5 X 3 3/4
  • Emboss the layer, then cut it to 3 3/4 X 1 3/4 and 3 3/4 X 3 1/4
  • The focal point is adhered to the right half of the front

Half Full

I am thrilled that this stamp set, Half Full, carried over from the Holiday Catalog!  I really hope it is in the next Annual Catalog.  Fingers Crossed !!  The set includes some Christmas sentiments, and also some everyday sentiments.  I love that.  I have quite a few friends who like wine, and I sort of do as well !

The “color of my wine” defined my color choices for this card.  This is a muscadine wine, so I went with Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive.  The splatter is from the Timeless Texture stamp set.  Red Wines tend to end up on my white countertop for some reason, so splatter was appropriate.

The tag is cut with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch.  The Ribbon is Berry Burst Metallic Edge Ribbon in the Occasions Catalog.  It is so versatile and easy to work with.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card.  I very much appreciate you visiting my blog.  If you have any questions or are thinking of becoming a demonstrator, I would be thrilled to talk with you.  During Sale-A-Bration is the best time of year to join my team!!

Hogs & Kisses

When I was looking through my stamp sets for an idea, I happened upon the “This Little Piggy” set.  I was so happy when this set carried over into the current annual catalog.  But I have not used it very  much lately.  So I dusted it off and have a sweet little card for you.

I used one pig with his sentiment masked off, and then stamped the sentiment from a different pig.  The sitting up piggy is what fit the layout I had in mind.  My photography has not been great of late.  For some reason the colors are not looking true.  The rust color is actually Calypso Coral with Lemon Lime Twist.  I will have to correct that.

In case you are not familiar with the stamp set, the little image on the cross piece is little kisses 🙂  It is part of the stamp set and oh so appropriate for the sentiment.  This card could be a sweet note for someone special or a Valentine’s Day Card as well.  The bonus is that it is super quick and simple to make.

Thank you so much for visiting today.  I hope you have an awesome weekend.  The supplies I used are listed at the bottom of the page.

Sweet Little Someone

I am playing along with the Global Design Project challenge again ,GDP123, and this time I will submit it within the time period.  This challenge is New Beginnings.  The set I immediately thought of is one that I have not used but a few times.  It is the super cute “A Little Wild” set.  The adorable animals make tags or can be used as front/back on a card.  I just used the front of the precious elephant for my card.

I used the blends to color again.  I told you I am hooked on those pens.  That aside, I love the elephant holding the balloon.  I think it is a cute Welcome Baby type card.  The other animals in the set would be just as adorable.

To get just the front of the elephant, I used my Momento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad and just tapped it on the one side of the stamp.  I have found that from using the Absorber cloth to clean my stamps that I do not have the light color left.  Before I would have a pale pinkish residue that would stamp when I didn’t want it to!

The balloon is from the Balloon Bouquet Punch and is the larger of the two.  I then took the Sweet Sugarplum marker and went around the edge of the white balloon to give it some depth.  This is a great trick to use when you do not have the layering of card stock.

Friends Fur-Ever

I did something scary yesterday!  I cut apart a stamp !!! That is the first time I have ever done that.  I have seen a few cards with the We Must Celebrate stamp set and the lovable little animals.  And then I saw other demonstrators posting cards with only one of the animals, and another with several stacked on top of each other..  That was my deciding moment.  What do you think of this?

Looking at these cute faces makes me smile.  Since I have been on a coloring kick with the Stampin’ Blends for a while, these cute animals just fit right in.  In a way I think it looks like a kid colored it.  Then I look again and really liked it.  But I hope it gives you ideas for this wonderful stamp set.

The background was totally created with the Stampin’ Blends.  I like the unevenness of the grass and sky.  It gives it some depth without looking too solid.  But more that anything, I just enjoyed coloring and letting my imagination go.  I really hope you will give it a try as well.

Thank you so much for visiting today!  If you have any questions or comments, I would love to hear from you.
