The Best for #GDP202

I am playing along with a sketch challenge from the Global Design Project today.  I love sketch and theme challenges.  It helps my brain get moving.

And here is the sketch my card is based on. I stayed pretty true to the sketch I believe.

My husband asked me to make a Thank You card for him last night.  And when I saw the challenge today, I thought it would be a great basis for the card.  The sentiment is from A Big Thank You, and fits perfectly on a banner.  I stamped a pretty scripted Thank You on the inside of the card.

I totally LOVE the Woven Threads Designer Series Paper, so I placed it as the main focal point.  The background for the tag is from the Woven Heirlooms stamp set.  It is stamped off first in Sahara Sand.  I tried to make it a bit similar to the DSP instead of a simple white banner.

The scalloped ribbon at the bottom is new in the Annual Catalog.  It is the Seaside Spray Scalloped Linen Thread.  The ribbon comes in all of the new In Colors.  I thought it worked perfectly with the colors and DSP I chose.  I ran a piece of Tear & Tape along the bottom edge of the DSP to adhere the ribbon.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I really appreciate it.

Floating By

Hello Everyone, I am back!!!  I enjoyed a fabulous riverboat cruise down the Rhine River and saw some gorgeous scenery.  Not to mention all of the wonderful food I stuffed myself with.  As much fun as I had, I missed my hubby and my stamping.  So it is great to be back.

When trying to decide on a new project to get restarted with, I found the cutest set to play with.  It is the We’ll Walrus Be Friends.  I love the name alone, but the images are adorable.  And one had the perfect sentiment to end my cruising with.

Stampin' Up!, We'll Walrus Be Friends, Jackie Beers , well walrus be friends

I thought this image and sentiment were perfect for my end of cruise post.  Of course, I did not see any walruses along the Rhine River.

This was a really quick card to put together.  I used the Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper and paired it with two colors from the paper.  They are Balmy Blue and Night of Navy. I stamped the walrus in Gray Granite and then colored it and the water with Stampin’ Blends.  The sentiment is a two line sentiment.  However……..the Classic Label Punch fits perfectly between the two lines.  So it was super easy to just punch each line out separately and then make the banner tips using the punch as well.

I am so happy that you stopped in today.  It is great to be back and stamping.  Please come back tomorrow for another new project.

A Little Simple Stamping

Before I get to the project for today, I wanted to give you a heads up.  I am going to be on vacation for the next two weeks.  Some friends and I are going on another Riverboat Cruise.  I had hoped to have some cards made ahead of time, but as usual my plan did not go exactly as intended.  The hubby and cats will be here to hold down the fort, but none of them will make cards to share with you unfortunately.  I hope you are a follower of my Facebook page, BlueLineStamping.  I will post some pictures on there while I am traveling.  If you subscribe to my blog, then you will receive my email post when I am back.  I should be posting again on August 12.

I have a One Stamp Set Card with just stamping to share with you today.  You know I love one stamp set cards, and this one is super quick and easy.

I paired the beautiful Woven Heirloom stamp set with Pretty Peacock and Rococo Rose, and a stamped off Sahara Sand.  I added the Faceted Dots from the 2019-2021 In Colors for a touch of texture.  And that is a super easy card.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I have listed to products I used at the bottom of the post.  I hope you will mark your calendar  and return in two weeks.  Or better yet, go to the subscribe button on the right side of the tool bar and enter your email address.  That way you will get the email letting you see my posts first thing.

A Glittery Happy

Today’s card is a quick card with hardly any stamping.  It is a simple and cute card with minimal everything.

The only stamping is the Birthday Wishes, which is from the Varied Vases stamp set.  The “Happy” is from the Merry Christmas Framelits.  A bit of a surprise there and I love it.  It is wonderful to use Christmas stamps / products at other times of the year.

The Happy is die cut using the Rose Glimmer Paper and the Happy Die.  The sentiment is stamped and punched with the Classic Label Punch.  The background for the sentiment is also from the Merry Christmas Framelits.  I was thrilled that it seems to fit perfectly together.  I added two of the In Color Faceted Dots just to ground it.

The designer series paper is the Woven Threads DSP.  It is gorgeous down to the very last sheet.  I love the colors and the designs.  That is the main reason I left the card so plain, or less stamped.  The ribbon is the Rococo Rose Scalloped Linen Ribbon.  There are a few of these in the new In Colors, and they are all just as gorgeous as this one.

Thank you for stopping in today.  Please come back tomorrow for another new project.

Country Sunshine for InKing Royalty Blog Hop

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s July Blog Hop! This year’s Blog Hop themes are inspired by a single word – and this month our projects are centered around SUNSHINE. The Sun is the single most important source of energy for life on Earth – it guides our clocks, calendars and planting schedules. We may be enduring a heat wave this week, but we still associate the Sun with positivity, joy and renewal. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

Looking through my stamps for a “sunshine” idea was a bit difficult.  I realized there is only one or two possible “sun” shapes and almost no sentiments.  How can that be???  But I finally found the sentiment that spoke to me and made a card to match the sentiment.  I understand that is a bit of an odd way of going about things, so I hope you like my final product.

When I made my card, I had not seen the opening paragraph that Brian wrote for this hop.  It seems to go right along with the sentiment I chose.  WooHoo!!!

I love the Country Road stamp set and was very happy that it was a carryover to the new catalog.  The pieces in it are perfect for a collage type card.  And the grass/weeds are wonderful in the background.  They are even slightly slanted for that “wind at your back” theme in the sentiment.

I sponged the background of the card using the Stampin’ Sponges and soft colors.  The sun is pretty bright made using Pineapple Punch.  The sky is Seaside Spray and the grass background is Pear Pizzaz.    I did not want the grass to be overly dark so the grass/weeds in Crumb Cake would show more.

The sentiment is also from the Country Road stamp set.  The layered sentiment section is from the Frosted Bouquet Framelits. Both pieces are included.  I added four of the Metallic Pearls for some rustic look to my sign.  The Braided Linen Thread seemed the perfect finishing touch.

Hello There

This card is one I made to finish off the Royal Challenge I have mentioned previously.  It was a Welcome Home for Brian King, my SU Upline,  from the SU Incentive trip.  I did not find a Welcome that I loved , so I went with Hello There!

What better stamp set to use for someone as “crafty” as Brian, than the It Starts With Art set.  I used the gorgeous Designer Series Paper from the suite of products as my bright background.  My sign is from the stamp set I Say Hello.  It is a really cute set that I believe is somewhat of a sleeper set.

I hung the sign using one of the Mini Library Clips.  the sequins scattered around were just enough bling to give some extra to the card.  I love not always laying everything out evenly, so this haphazard layout is a nice change.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you will return tomorrow for the InKing Royalty Blog Hop!
