So Sweet ! #GDP122

I saw the layout from the current Global Design Project Challenge yesterday and decided I really liked the layout.  So of course I will be submitting a card at the last minute.  The story of my life lately!  This card is super cute and SWEET though!

Stampin' Up!, Fruit Basket, Jackie Beers, stampinup, fruit basket, jackiebeers

Fruit Basket, 145833

Who doesn’t love strawberries???  I even have a strawberry birthmark (thankfully very faded now).  So when I saw this set, I knew I had to have it.  These berries are extremely easy to line up the berry and the cap.  The set is photopolymer which makes it match perfectly.  I added some Wink of Stella to the single berry on the left, but it doesn’t show in the photograph.

I did stamp what I think would be called a “reverse mask” to do the berries outside the basket.  I stamped the basket on scrap card stock and then cut it out.  That way I could have some berries on the table in front of it.

I hope you will give this set a try.  The little fruit pieces have a matching punch set!  Woohoo! I will definitely be using that in my next card.  The supplies I used are listed  the bottom of the page.  If you have any questions, please contact me.  I love hearing from you.

Celebrate You!

The Amazing You and Celebrate You in the Sale-A-Bration catalog are both fabulous items.  They work wonderfully together or seperatly .  I have joined them on today’s card.

Stampin' Up! Celebrate You Thinlits, Jackie Beers, stampinup, celebrate you, jackiebeers

Celebrate You Thinlits, 146840

The Amazing You stamp set is free with a $50.00 order and the Celebrate You Thinlits are free with a $100.00 order.  I know that for me, meeting these order qualifications was not at all difficult to do! HaHa….  I hope seeing them together will excite you about getting one or both of them.

I was trying to do a different layout for today’s card, and I did manage that.  I also rarely use all Subtle family colors.  I may use one and pair it with a Bright or Regal, but this is the first totally soft color card I have made in a very long time.  It makes me wonder why that is????

I want to point out the Glittery & Clear Epoxy Shapes that are on the upper part of the card.  This is the first time I have used the tear drop shaped ones.  I wanted to give the upper section a little something and I believe these fit the bill.

The supplies I used are all listed at the bottom of the post.  Thank you for visiting with me today.  I really appreciate your visit and comments.  I hope you have a wonderful day and a great weekend!

Kindness

The sentiment on today’s card is one of my favorite.  This is one of my New Year’s Resolutions, just more kindness.  And I am back using the Waterfront Stamp Set again.  There are so many beautiful examples made with this stamp set.  I am continuing to try to emulate some of them.  Today’s card is supposed to be a calming mountain scene.

Stampin' Up! Waterfront Jackie Beers, stampinup, waterfront, jackiebeers

Waterfront, 146386

You will laugh when you read what my inspiration for this card was!  The DSP in the background which is from Naturally Eclectic DSP.  It wasn’t the vibrant colors, but the faded tones.  I saw sky fading down to grass.  The mountains are where I grew up and looking over a field towards the mountains is peaceful.  So that is where I was headed.

The stamping with this set is definitely a “just go for it” type deal.  And the best part is that you can make many different scenes with this one set.  I have done a couple that you can see HERE, and HERE.  I hope you will give this set a try and see what scenes you can create.  As a bonus, the sentiments are some of the best in the catalog.  You cannot beat a perfect sentiment.

Thank you so much for visiting with  me today.  I very much appreciate it.  And if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Hug In a Mug

The card I designed for today is my first one with this super cute set from the Holiday Catalog called Hug In A Mug!  Who would not love a Hug In A Mug?  I adore that name.  The set seems to be a little bit of a sleeper set possibly due to the Coffee Cafe in the Annual and then the seasonal coffee in the Holiday Catalogs.  But this one is just really cute.  I hope you will give it a look.

Stampin' Up! Hug In A Mug, Jackie Beers, stampinup, hug in a mug, jackiebeers

Hug In A Mug, 144933

This card is a CASE from one of the Make ‘n Takes we did at World Card Making Day.  I loved the mug of steaming cocoa with the sentiment.  I added the hearts to the Pool Party layer to go along with the sentiment also.  Because of the quilt and the sentiment, I believe this card could be used for so many occasions.  A hug and a quilt are just year round love!

I have paired the stamp set with the Quilted Christmas 6 X 6 Designer Series Paper.  This quilt pattern just emphasizes the Hug!  At least that is what I think of when I see a hand quilted quilt.  Also it brings back wonderful memories of my childhood!

COLOR COMBINATION:

These are the unlikely trio of colors I used for this card.  I would have never added the Lemon Lime Twist to these other two.  I did pull all three colors from the DSP.  And since it works in the DSP, it must work here.   I thought it would make the sentiment POP.  I hope you agree…..otherwise you are probably thinking I have lost my mind !  LOL…

Remember that today is the last day for the World Card Making Day Sale!!  It is also the last day to sign up for the October Paper Pumpkin….remember that October and November are coordinating this year.  I cannot wait to see what they are!

Give Thanks

I have another Fall card for today.  Although to Give Thanks is something that could be used year round.  I have used the “direct to paper” technique again to showcase this simple punched sentiment.

Stampin' Up! Labels To Love, Jackie Beers

Labels To Love, 144967

COLOR COMBINATION:

I really like this color combination.  It is soft on the “direct to paper” technique but stands out on the card stock surrounding it.  And the Calypso Coral Ombre Ribbon is just a must have!!  It is gorgeous and so easy to work with.

If you missed my previous “Direct To Paper Technique” card, you can see it HERE.

The sentiment is from the Label To Love set.  This set has sentiments for a variety of holidays and they all fit the Everyday Punch.  The punch is a bundle with the Merry Labels set, but it works with both sets.  A double winner!

MEASUREMENTS:

  • Card base is Crushed Curry cut 8 X 4 and folded in half
  • Pear Pizzaz layer is 3 3/4 X 3 3/4
  • Glossy card stock layer is 3 1/2 X 3 1/2

The supplies I used are listed below.  You can click on any item and be taken directly to my online store.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.  If you do not have a current Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator I would love to help you get started.

You Make Me Smile

I seem to be on a Fall card making theme.  Today’s card is from one of the most versatile stamp sets, or the entire suite, that Stampin’ Up! has.  It is the Color Theory Suite and the Colorful Seasons Bundle.  I love everything in this suite, but especially the bundle.

Stampin' Up! Colorful Seasons, Jackie Beers

Colorful Seasons Bundle, 145348

COLOR COMBINATION:

I just adore these delicate leaves from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits part of the bundle.  And with the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets they are a piece of cake to adhere.  After I placed the leaves it seemed like I really didn’t need anything else!

I sponged the background of the leaves and then splattered the open space.  I know technically you are supposed to do things in 3’s, but I only added 2 of the Enamel Shapes.  I just wanted to highlight the sentiment.  I say “rules are meant to be broken” …..in some cases!!

Thank you for visiting today!  I appreciate your comments very much.
