Hopefully you have been enjoying the new Annual Catalog. Personally I am really loving the new In Colors and new DSP. Today’s project showcases both with the Lovely & Lasting stamp set.
Suite of Products
The Lovely & Lasting stamp set is part of a Punch Bundle. And it is part of the Lovely In Linen Suite of products. These are on page 24 and 25 of the Annual Catalog. An added bonus to me is the lovely set has a variety of sentiments. That is adds value to a set in my opinion.
Lovely In Linen Designer Series Paper is really pretty and is a part of the suite as well. This pattern is a favorite of mine. It also makes pairing colors super simple. All of the colors used are pulled from the paper.
Punches
Without using the Punch from the bundle, I still managed to use two different punches on the project. The bundle punch is a wonderful shape, but was a tad too large for this card. My solution included both the Rectangle Postage Stamp Punch and the larger of the Double Oval Punch. They may not seem to go together but I made it work. The different edges of the two actually look fairly similar when placed together.
Finishes
There are two embellishments added to today’s card. First is the shimmery Starry Sky Metallic Ribbon. It adds a great shine and bling all by itself. And second are the three Solid Faceted Gems. Each of the flowers received one as a center. The third is on the sentiment layer. These are in the new In Colors so it pulls the Sweet Sorbet from the layers of the card.

Today’s card is a simple masculine card which is a great way to use up DSP scraps. And the He’s All That stamp set is a definite winner in my book!
Paper
The He’s The Man Suite of products are all awesome. Different products from the suite are used on this card and I love them all. The DSP is a for sure winner. He’s The Man is a great name for this Designer Series Paper. All of the colors have a more masculine look and color scheme, but they all work together wonderfully. Some of the pieces you see are the front and back of a single sheet. The measurements for each piece is listed at the bottom of the post.
Stamp Set
Since this is a Suite card, using the stamp set He’s All That is a given. The different images and sentiments make for a great set. In reading the chosen sentiment it reminded me of the very old Country Music song “Hello Darlin'”. With that thought in my brain, I had to use this sentiment! LOL!!!! For a bit of information, I will also say that at first glance, and in actuality, the mustache does not line up straight with the sentiment wording. This unevenness may not work for everyone. A single Rustic Metallic Dot was the finishing touch for the sentiment layer.
Punches
Two different punches were used for this card design. The most obvious one is the sentiment layer. That punch is the Lasting Label Punch, which is part of the Lovely & Lasting Bundle. A bit of a different shape around the edges is a nice addition. And the second punch is the Banner Pick A Punch. It was used for the flags at the top of the page. The punch has three widths and I used all three. They are 1/2″ x 2″, 3/4″ x 2 1/4″ , and 1″ x 2 1/2″. To complete the look I used a small stapler for a different little touch.
Measurements
Besides the little flag sizes above, the card base is 4 1/4 X 11 then scored and folded at 5 1/2. A thin additional layer of the Sahara Sand cardstock is cut to 3 3/4 X 5. The large DSP piece is cut to 3 5/8 X 4 7/8. And finally the strip of DSP beneath the sentiment is cut to 3 5/8 X 1. It was fun playing with the different patterns to decide on which pattern went where.

The new Sending Smiles Bundle is an awesome one that works fits many occasions. Today’s project is a Sending Sympathy and Love card.
This card is a variety of different products mixed together for an eclectic look. And a different look than I normally create.
Background
There are several different elements making up this different background look. The card base is one of the New In Colors named Orchid Oasis. This color has a really Fresh look to it. Playing off of the flower center brings the Mango Melody paper into the mix. Actually it is a “back” side of the Hues of Happiness paper. The variation of color fit perfectly with my theme.
And finally the lattice looking layer is from the Organic Beauty Dies. Only half of the die cut piece is used and it is cut an an angle. Most of the little filler shapes were left out. It seemed a few were all it needed.
Flower
Following along with the richness of the card base, I went with Sweet Sorbet for the flower itself. And the center is Mango Melody matching the background paper. The stem and leaves are stamped using Shaded Spruce Ink. Please do not think the unevenness of the right leaf is poor stamping. This look was actually done on purpose and looks much better in person. I accidentally “slid” the stamp on the ink pad and loved the variegated look that it left.
Sentiments
Both of the sentiments are from the Stamp set and Dies. As is the shape for the Comfort & Strength sentiment. You know how I love all in one bundles! Instead of using the little dot of cardstock for dotting the “i”, I added one of the Iridescent Pearls. These are so pretty! And of course I had to add a few more scattered around the lattice section.

Today’s project is a fun card with one of the New Punch Bundles. It includes the Sweetest Cherries stamp set and the Cherry Builder Punch. For me the punch bundles are the favorites.
Bundle
As mentioned above, this is a Punch Bundle. The Sweetest Cherries Bundle is Oh So Sweet! There are cherries to stamp in the stamp set, along with the stems and leaves. But they are also what is included in the Cherry Builder Punch. I opted for simply punching out the images in the appropriate colors of cardstock instead of stamping first.
And the sentiment is included in the set as well. It was made to be as large of a star on this card as the cherries are. It is a clean and simple sentiment that can still stand on it’s own.
Dies and Embossing
As a way to help the cherries Pop!, I layered them using the Stylish Shapes Dies. The bit of stitching just around the inside of each is a great little detail. And the sentiment is cut using a different die from the set. It also has the little stitching. There are multiples of circles, squares and a couple of banners in the die set.
Feeling the background layer of the card needed some definition, the Gingham Embossing Folder was used on the Cherry Cobbler layer. And as a finishing touch for the cherries, one was given the little Iridescent Pearl for a highlight.

Today’s card showcases one of the single stamp sets that immediately caught my attention when the Annual Catalog debuted. It is the Amazing Year set. My favorite stamps are ones that can “stand alone”. This set has two of those, plus some great sentiments.
Stamp Set
The Amazing Year stamp set is such a great value and is wonderful for newer stampers. It allows us to make a card using just one stamp set. This one can have two different focal stars with a variety of sentiments. And this lovely bouquet has it’s own little attached sentiment on a tag.
Paper
There are two different pieces of DSP used on this card. Both are from the Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper. The striped was a hit with me immediately. It reminds me of the old pillow ticking material. And the flower bouquet is stamped on a second piece of the DSP. By looking closely you can see the lines which appear to be from an old and faded ledger sheet. Stamping on DSP is something that we sometimes forget about. A perfect piece of paper as this is a great reminder to give it a try. It just stands up and begs to be stamped on!
Colors
Most of the colors used came from the Abigail Rose DSP. The Early Espresso is not a color that I used very often. But it is in most of the sheets of that DSP pack. So it was called to duty with the card base as well as the ink for stamping the bouquet. The color is just a bit softer than Black would have been. The colors for the flowers were the Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends. Of course that came from the striped DSP piece. And the final touch is the strip of t he Natural Finish Ribbon. It blends perfectly and grounds the bouquet layer.
Measurements
The card base of Early Espresso is cut to 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4. For the layer I chose Crumb Cake. And it is cut to 5 1/4X 4 with the Striped DSP layer cut to 5 X 3 3/4. Finally the focal layers are cut 2 7/8 X 3 3/8 and 2 3/4 X 3 1/4. A last touch is the one Petal Pink Sold Faceted Gems.

AnToday’s card is a little bit of a Fun Fold paired with Symbol of Fortune Designer Series Paper. And the wonderful Flowing Flowers stamp set.
Today’s card is my entry as part of the design team for the Make My Monday Challenge. Springtime is the theme of this challenge. And these flowers with butterflies say Spring for me. You can join our challenge as well. Simply click on the icon and you will be taken to the blog.
Paper
The beautiful DSP is the star of this card. It is the Symbols of Fortune Designer Series paper from the Mini Catalog. This flowers and butterfly piece is my favorite piece of the pack. And the piece for the layer on the right hand side is the back of the first. I went with a very neutral Crumb Cake for the base and pulled the Evening Evergreen for the layers. There are several color options available to be pulled from this beautiful paper.
Stamps
With the gorgeous paper on this card I wanted a simpler stamp for the focal layer. My choice is a favorite from the Mini Catalog and it is the Flowing Flowers stamp set. That gorgeous, yet simple, flower is all the card needed. By using the Calypso Coral with the flower it allowed another complimentary color. And the simple “Hey” is from the Best Year stamp set. Just the tiny word was enough of an added punch.
Embellishments
To add a bit of sparkle for the flower the Iridescent Rhinestones for the center fit perfectly. And to mimic the sweet butterflies of the paper, one of the beautiful Brushed Brass Butterflies is flying in. These little guys add a touch of elegance to any card.
Measurements
This fun fold can be used vertically or horizontally with the focal layer moved around as well. With the focal layer placed a bit higher normal it shows the most of the butterflies on the paper. The Crumb Cake card base is cut to 5 1/2 X 7 1/2 and scored at 3 1/4. This allows the side strip of DSP to show. The Evening Evergreen layers are 3 X 5 1/4 and 1 X 5 1/4. And the DSP is cut to 2 3/4 X 5 and 3/4 X 5. The smaller strips are adhered to the inside White layer which is 4 X 5 1/4. Finally the focal layer is cut 3 X 3 and 2 3/4 X 2 3/4.

As awesome as the New Annual Catalog is, there are still great products available in the current Mini Catalog. I have combined the sets Catch You Later, Bragworthy, and Artfully Layered together for a fun card.
Stamps
These monkeys are so fun! I immediately think of hanging out with friends. So that is the direction I went. And of course the sentiment takes it the same direction. Yes, I did use three different stamp sets to create this fun card. The monkeys and sentiment are from the Catch You Later stamp set. It is full of similar fun images and sentiments. And the background I created was using the Artfully Layered set with the large leaf and smaller heart leaves.
And to share the third stamp set, the Bragworthy set, here is a view of the inside. It screams “Old Friends” to me!
I realize that this sentiment does not fit everyone. But it definitely works with me and my friends! This stamp set includes six unique and fun sentiments for different occasions.
Colors
To carry the outdoors theme I wanted a green color. But instead ended up with a blue / green by using Bermuda Bay. This is an awesome color that I use often. And to pair with the monkeys’ colors, I added the layer of Crumb Cake. For the stamped backgrounds I did tone on tone for both Bermuda Bay and Crumb Cake. The Crumb Cake images are stamped repeatedly before re-inking.
Embellishments
To give some added emphasis for the sentiment, I used the Double Oval Punch for a bit of an extra layer. And as a more masculine “bling”, I used the New Brushed Metallic Adhesive Dots. By adding one to each of the focal layers it brings them together. And I know I generally do at least three of my blings. This card just did not like adding a third one.

For today’s card I am focused on just one of the New In Colors. It is the Sweet Sorbet. And it is as sweet as the name sounds.
Papers and Colors
Stampin’ Up! has outdone themselves again with some of the gorgeous new DSP. This paper is Pretty Prints Designer Series Paper and it is outstanding! The faded looking images remind me of playing with leaves, construction paper, and the sun as a science project. Although their version is so much better! This is the new Sweet Sorbet In Color. You can see the darker shade of it towards the center of the print. And this pack of paper has all of the New In Colors included. It is a must have in my book.
Since the faded look in the papers is more Vanilla than White, I went with Very Vanilla for the tag and layer. And the lovely Sweet Sorbet is the card base. The full strength color was too dark on the tag, so it is stamped off for the Fern you see. However, it matches the lighter shades of the paper even better.
Stamps, Dies, etc
Surprisingly this is the same stamp set as yesterday’s card, Nature’s Print stamp set. And the little fern on the tag is the same one from that card. With this paper I did not want to cover it up with stamping. That really is a dilemma sometimes with the papers we have! Instead I went with one of the smaller of the Tailor Made Tags Dies. It was large enough to hold the sentiment and part of the Fern.
To finish this sweet card I added a bit of the Sweet Sorbet Metallic Ribbon to the tag. Not only does it add some shimmer but it adds yet another shade of the color. Each of these new colors I have played with have been my “current favorite”! And now this Sweet Sorbet is my Favorite!!
