The product I am showcasing today contained a wonderful surprise. It is the Celebration Tags Dies and a gift card will actually fit inside of it. How exciting is this?
Dies
Since the tag / envelope on the front of the card is the star of this show, I am beginning with the tag. There are two foldable tags included in the Celebrations Tag Dies, along with several other pieces. This card includes the larger of the envelope / tags plus the balloon. It also includes the layer the sentiment is stamped on. With this versatility I believe this is a must have die set.
The best part of this card, besides being cute, was the discovery that a gift card will fit in the tag. After gluing the tag / envelope together, I had the idea to try a gift card. Having not seen anyone demonstrate that one would fit, I had my doubts. But surprisingly, and with great excitement, I discovered it fits perfectly!
Here is a view of the card being pulled out of the tag.
Stamp set / Bundle
Since I have been going on about the die set, I should tell you that it Bundles with the Celebration With Tags stamp set. The stamp set includes the Happy Birthday as well as some other great sentiments. Even though the dies are my favorite part, the stamps are very good and fit the layers. That is always a good thing.
Paper
The paper choices were dictated by my needing a female birthday card. And with a different sentiment, these colors and papers would be great for a baby shower. Backing up to the DSP, you know that it was my first choice, as that is how I generally begin. So the pink and blue from the Awash In Beauty Designer Series Paper is what prompted the Balmy Blue and Blushing Bride cardstocks. The balloon is die cut from the same piece of DSP. It is showing the reverse side. And has a Heart Pearl as an embellishment.
Gift Card Pull
Having the tag containing the gift card on the front of the card required an easy means of retrieving the gift card.. This “Pull” idea came from The Paper Pixie on a gift bag she did recently. Since the tag already has the holes on both the front and the back layers, all I had to do was thread the ribbon through them. The ribbon is 12″ of the Old Olive Ribbon that is part of the Sahara Sand and Old Olive Ribbon Combo in the Annual catalog.
Feed the ribbon through one side and all the way through the other side. Pull through to the back with about 3″ of ribbon. While holding on to that piece, place the gift card in the opening and push down. This will take the length of the ribbon from the front down into the tag with the gift card. When the gift card is fully inside the tag, you should have about the same amount of ribbon left on the front and the back. You can tie with Bakers Twine, as I did, leave as is, or use your own idea. Then simply trim the ribbon ends to the same length.

Today’s card is a challenge to create with an Outdoor Sport. That topic is not one that I have a lot of call to use stamps from that direction anymore. However, Let’s Set Sail came to the rescue. Sailing is definitely an outdoor sport.
This card and the challenge is for the Make My Monday Challenge. You can add your cards to the challenge as well. Click on the link and you will be taken to the site.
Stamps
The Let’s Set Sail stamp set is a fun one that is easy to create quick and easy cards with. The best part is that it is a Punch Bundle. The sailboat was made using the matching Sailboat Builder Punch. There are stamp pieces included in the set which match the punch, but I opted to simply punch them from different cardstock.
For the banner at the top of the card I did use a stamp from the set. The wording is great for a variety of meanings. To help it stand out a bit, I went with a different look for the sentiment. So there is no layering. Instead I went with making the sentiment into a banner. It only required leaving a little extra space on the bottom beneath the sentiment. Then simply cut a little way up in the center and then angle cut from each side. To finish this off, I added a staple for something different.
Paper and Ink
In designing the card the paper was the next step after the stamp set. After looking through all of the current DSP, I landed on the 2022-2024 In Color 6X6 papers. By using a couple of different pieces from those new In Colors they all tied together wonderfully. The base of the card is Starry Sky which fits with sailing. And to match the water I went with the polka dot look piece of Tahitian Tide. To give a faux texture look to the sails I chose the striped pieces of Starry Sky and Sweet Sorbet. The background layer of the sailboat is a flowery piece of the Sweet Sorbet also. Sadly the sailboat itself is simply Crumb Cake.
There really is not a lot of stamping on this card as I mentioned earlier. But the water is stamped using Tahitian Tide Ink. The pad is very juicy and as it dried the bubbles gave a bit of texture to the water. It is not something I would want on most occasions but here it works perfectly. The only other ink is the Basic Gray that is used for the seagulls flying in the distance, as well as the sentiment itself. This addition of , not quite black, is a little softer look than black itself would leave.
Measurements
The card base of Starry Sky cardstock is cut to 4 1/4 X 11 and scored at 5 1/2. For me at least DSP requires a layer between it and the card base. So the White layer is 4 X 5 1/4 with the DSP layer being 3 3/4 X 5. The stamped layer is 2 1/2 X 3 with the background layer being 2 3/4 X 3 1/4.

Pretty Designer Series Paper can be difficult to cut. A Fun Fold card with a different front view requiring less cutting is the solution.
Paper
As you can see from the photo, this card is all about the paper! The Awash In Beauty Designer Series Paper is gorgeous. This pattern used is my favorite. Bold colors and flowers will always be my favorite and this fits the bill. Because this piece of the DSP is so pretty I did not want to cut it. (Have you ever had that though?) So the next best thing was to use as much of the sheet as I could. And I should say that this started as a leftover 6X6 piece from my paper shares.
What you see on the front is a 4 X 5 1/4 piece that I then cut 1 1/4 off of the right side. This card began as a Fun Fold, and you will see that when I share the open view. (Hopefully that helps to explain your confusion after my comment on cutting off a section.) The piece that was cut is adhered to the right side of the 4 X 5 1/4 inside layer. And here is the inside view.
Fun Fold
After seeing the open view I hope it makes my explanation of the front layer a bit clearer. The idea was for it to appear as a solid piece of the pretty DSP when closed. And then you see the Fun part when you open it. This fold is not a new one, but the way the DSP is adhered is not one I have seen previously. As I mentioned earlier, it came to me as a way to share more of the pretty paper.
To get this Fold, cut the base of Merry Merlot to 8 1/2 X 5 1/2, then score on the 8 1/2 side at 2 1/8 and 4 1/4. Basically it is a regular fold, the 4 1/4, and you then fold the front flap back on itself. To have the DSP layers meet properly, I layered the left side of DSP first. By aligning the top, bottom, and left side equally it was fairly easy. Next add the DSP strip to the right side of the White inside layer. Add your adhesive to the White layer and carefully slide it into the card while bring the top over. By using Multipurpose Liquid Glue I had a little wiggle room. I was able to match up the two pieces of DSP and make sure they were properly aligned.
Stamps and Dies
There is not a sentiment on the inside of the card as I sometimes leave them until needed. Especially for an outside sentiment as this one with the Just Because. But it could not be blank inside, even with the gorgeous DSP. So I added a flower from the set. This was created using the Balmy Blue and Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Write Markers. These are not available individually, but are available as a Color Family. And in my opinion they are a must have for adding more than one color to a Red Rubber stamp.
For the front sentiment I needed a layer, or layers, that would not take over from the DSP. These layers used were found in the Potted Succulent Dies. It was a great surprise that the sentiment fit perfectly in that slim die piece. And the fun shapes with stitching were just an added bonus. To finish off the card there had to be bling! Sometimes it is difficult for me to just use one bling. This was definitely one of those times with the flowers needing some love as well as the sentiment. So three Rhinestones were spread among the two flowers and the sentiment for equal bling.

This month, the theme is Create Your Own Background. We really hope that you will be inspired by all the amazing creations the Pals are sharing with you! As you hop from blog to blog, we would love for you to leave a comment. You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
This month’s theme of creating your own background was a bit of a challenge. Trying to think of something not commonly seen was my idea. It took a while but I finally came up with an idea that I hope you will like.
Background
With the theme being the background, let’s start there. My idea was to create a bright and fun background using the 2022-2024 In Color Metallic Woven Ribbons. These are individual ribbons in each of the five colors. By adding adhesive to a piece of cardstock it was fairly easy to wrap the ribbon around it. Of course the back of this piece is a hot mess! But I was happy with the finished product and I love the metallic shine it gives to the card. As an aside, I will say that a wider ribbon would probably be easier to work with if you decide to give this technique a try. And I hope you will try it.
Papers and Colors
With the shine of the background, I wanted a bright rest of the card as well. Going with the Tahitian Tide cardstock for the base layer was my choice. It is the brightest of all of the In Colors. To partner with the bright Tahitian Tide, but still be one of the In Colors, it took a few minutes to decide on the background layer. But the Orchid Oasis was the one that seemed to match. This piece is a “back side” of a piece of the Tea Boutique 6 X 6 Designer Series paper. And of course I had to add the White layer between the base and layer. For some reason I find it difficult to put the DSP directly on the base. One of my many quirks!!
Stamps
After the Theme and the brightness it created, the stamp set seemed to take a backseat on this card. That is really not true but it is simply the last item I chose in making the card. Finally the Christmas Scottie was chosen to be the star. There are a couple of images of the scottie to choose from. For the layout I had going on, the standing up little guy was the one that fit the best.
But that was not the hardest part of the stamp choosing. The sentiment choice was the hardest. After stamping and punching out a sentiment, it was discarded and I decided on the barking. Since I have never had a dog that did not love to hear themselves talk, I thought it was a perfect choice! Each In Color is stamped and then trimmed using my Paper Snips. Spreading them the height of the layer was making sure that the little guy’s words were loud and clear! 🙂 And the finished touch is a bit of bling on this collar. A single rhinestone was all that was needed.
More inspiration awaits, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. The Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Then, please mark your calendars for our next blog hop on August 10th. Our theme will be Seasons’ Greetings, where we will showcase projects inspired by our favorite seasonal time of the year.

It is definitely a good thing when there are stamps which remind you of your happy place. For me that is the beach. Sitting on the beach with friends is perfect and that is what today’s card is about.
Stamps
This small stamped scene reminds me of a peaceful morning on the beach. The fact that this was a really quick card to make is just the icing on the cake. These images are from the Sunkissed stamp set in the Mini Catalog. And the best part is it is an inexpensive set that has wonderful sentiments for any time plus a Christmas sentiment. We tend to forget that there are places who do not have cold weather for Christmas. Although I live in the South, so our Winters are generally not very cold. And I am thankful for that!
All of these images were stamped using Early Espresso Ink. Leaving the chairs without additional color was a bit difficult for me since I love to color. But it works and it made the card much faster to make. Adding the touches of the Tahitian Tide helps to make the hat and umbrella pop. The seagull was fussy cut and added to fill in for a sentiment layer.
Paper
A star of this card is obviously the Glimmer Paper. This is a piece from the In Color Glimmer Paper and is the Tahitian Tide piece. It really mimics the sky and water so fits perfectly with my beach theme. And the card base is Crumb Cake for the sand. This card is a 4 X 4 card, which makes it a great one to make multiples of. Quick and easy is the way to go for multiple card making.
Punch
To create the edging on the beach scene was so easy with the new Trio Punch. It is in the Mini Catalog and named the Very Best Trio Punch. And it pairs with an awesome sentiment set named Very Best Occasions. There are great every day sentiments as well as some Christmas sentiments in this set. As soon as I saw this bundle, I knew it was coming to my house. And this detail for a layer is so pretty that it does not require a layer under it.

The card I am sharing today is based on a leftover die cut piece from a class. It stars the Texture Chic Designer Series paper. That paper is so beautiful!
Paper
You may remember this piece of the gorgeous Texture Chic Designer Series Paper from a previous card. It was used in a similar layout then. One extra piece remained after I did the die cutting to get the maximum amount of these from one piece of DSP for the class. For sure this is not a piece of paper that I wanted to waste! My favorite part of the paper are the images on it. There is no need for us to stamp on it, because Stampin’ Up! has done that for us. What a great reminder that we can stamp on the DSP!
The Petal Pink and Soft Suede were pulled from the DSP piece. They create a great base for the more colorful layer. And tearing the edge of the middle layer adds detail without having to really do anything. But always remember to tear towards you on all sides to get the similar look.
Dies
The “notebook edge” die is actually the only one I used and is from the Blossoming Happiness Dies. For me this single die is almost worth the Die set! Truthfully, there are great dies in that set, it is simply a favorite for now. Plus it adds quite a lot of detail and flexibility by bending and giving it the worn look. But is just as pretty if left flat.
Stamps
Similar to the single die, there is only a single stamp used on the front of the card. The You’re The Nicest is from the Honeybee Home stamp set. A bee from the set was intended, but was canceled at the last minute. Instead I went with the Brushed Brass Butterfly to embellish the sentiment. That strip is stamped and then angle cut using my Paper Snips. There was nothing fancy in that.

The card I have to share with you today is for a little boy’s birthday. This is definitely not a normal card need for me. So it took mixing a few things to hopefully get an acceptable child’s card.
Stamps
There were two stamp sets used for this card. The first is the Hello Ladybug set. Since most little boys like bugs, I assumed a ladybug was a safe bet. Choosing the solid ladybug over the stamp, which fits the punch, was fairly easy. A multiple legged little bug won over the wings of the other bug. And to give the little bug a place to land, I stamped and fussy cut the large leaf. Fussy cutting the ladybug was also fairly simple with just a bit of extra care around those little legs.
Another fun set that works well for children is the Party Puffins. These fun guys would work for anyone actually. This is the set the sentiment came from. And to help it stand out a bit, I stamped it on the Sweet Sorbet, same as the color of the ladybug, and then heat embossed it using Black Embossing Powder. For an added element, the end of the Happy Birthday strip was cut in a banner tip using the Paper Snips.
Paper and Embellishments
Adding to the woodsy, little boy look is the DSP I chose. This tree piece of paper is from the Happy Forest Friends Designer Series Paper. The leaf of the Ladybug doesn’t really match the trees, but that is a bit of creative license.
Assisting with grounding the ladybug and the sentiment is a strip of the Natural Finish Ribbon. This ribbon is really pretty and has the extra width to be used as a layer. By cutting the sentiment strip a bit narrower than the ribbon, it allows the ribbon to really shine as well as tie everything together. For the finishing touch there has to be a bit of bling. Although black is not really classified as bling, I added a single Matte Black Dot to the sentiment piece.

Today’s card is a mix of products from two different catalogs. This is one of the things I love about Stampin’ Up!.
Stamps
This cute stamp set is called Forever Friendship. It is new in the Mini Catalog. There are a couple of quite different images along with fun sentiments in the set. A fun sentiment is something I love and this is one I strive for with some really long time friends. However keeping those plants alive forever is not going to happen. Even the one on the right, which the country nickname for it is Mother In Law’s Tongue!!, I have managed to let die. And that is saying something.
The flowers are all inked using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then colored using Stampin’ Blends. All of the Blends used are listed at the bottom of the post in the supply list. Due to the different plants represented a variety of greens were used to color them. And for the pots I used colors from the DSP.
Paper
This sweet DSP is from the Annual Catalog. It is the Rings of Love Designer Series paper. This is probably considered one of the “back” sides of the DSP. Using those reverse sides is one of my things I love to do. But this paper was chosen for the colors. Bright colors are what I love most and this piece of DSP has quite a few.
The cardstock for the base is Crushed Curry. Once it was pulled out I asked myself why I do not use it more. It is a fairly vibrant color and works well with a lot of other colors. Additionally the layers are Crumb Cake which is also pulled from the paper. And it works wonderfully with the Natural Finish Ribbon.
Layering
Layering on top of the ribbon was in my thoughts as mimicking the layering of the Crumb Cake. Plus it helps to separate the Parakeet Party sentiment layer from the DSP. Sometimes a color from the paper can get a bit lost if it layers next to that color in the DSP. For the finishing touch a trio of the 2022-2024 Matte Dots are used. These helped to make the sentiment popped and then tie it to the stamped layer.

From the New Mini Catalog comes wonderful new products. Today’s card is a quick one using the Splendid Thoughts stamp set paired with the Sale-A-Bration cards and envelopes.
This fun card was a CASE of a card I made from one of our Stampin’ Up! online events for demonstrators. It is a bit different from my normal card layers. And if was fun to step outside of my box. So I decided to CASE my own card. Here is the card i made during the event, which was made along with the presenter.
Bundle
Both cards were made using the same stamp set. It is the Splendid Thoughts set. There are dies included which are the Splendid Stems Dies. These can be purchased as a Bundle for a 10% discount!
Looking at the second card, you will see a Soft Sea Foam Ribbon. It is included in the Splendid Day Suite of products. The Suite includes the Bundle, Ribbon, Trinkets, and gorgeous Splendid Day Designer Series Paper.
On the first card, I stamped the leafy stem and it’s filler stamp using Old Olive Ink and Soft Sea Foam Ink. There is a die for this, but I didn’t think about it??? Duh! I just grabbed my Paper Snips and snipped away.
Punch
The Sending Hugs sentiment is a treasure. And I wanted it to stand out, but not cover all of the background. This was accomplished by using the Rectangle Postage Stamp Punch. It is a perfect size for a smaller layer and still has some definition to it.
Background
To begin with the card base, it is a FREE Sale-A-Bration item. Instead of me using cardstock, I went with these cards and envelopes. They are the Pool Party & Soft Sea Foam Cards & Envelopes. The best part is the price! They are FREE with a $50.00 order during this SAB. Here is a picture of the card and the matching envelope.
Don’t you just love the white detail on the envelope? Plus there are 20 cards and 20 envelopes! That is an awesome deal for such pretty cards.
The second part of the background is the White layer. It is colored using the Pool Party and Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blends. Simply take the light of one and “squiggle” it from the top to the center. Then do the same with the light of the other color going from bottom up to the center. For a bit more color, take the dark of each and from the center go a little bit into the lighter of the same color. When they are dry they blend together and create a pretty and quick background. It is more noticeable on the second card due to brighter colors.
Sale-A-Bration
As mentioned SAB is ongoing now through August 31st. If you place an order through me that reaches the SAB requirement of $50.00 pre tax, you receive one of my Blue Star Rewards. There is a Host Code listed below. If your order is below $150.00, please use my host code. Do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions.

Today’s card is a fun birthday card using a Christmas set from the new Mini Catalog. Using it for a different occasion is a great bonus!
Stamps
Since I love most animal stamps, and especially cats, it was a surprise to No One that I would purchase this stamp set as soon as possible. A mischief cat is just a fact! So when I needed a birthday card for someone who loves cats as well, I was ready to give this stamp set a try. The name is appropriate as it is North Pole Mischief. It will be such fun to make Christmas cards with these stamps, but this was the first use.
Sentiment
At first glance in looking at the stamp set, this sentiment is for Christmas and the good or naughty list. But I looked at it for a birthday and feel that it fits there as well. Plus the recipient is an adult and would get a kick out of those words! And with the lighter color of the DSP, I took a scrap and used it to stamp the sentiment.
To finish the front sentiment I added a couple of the Solid Faceted Dots. Grounding the little banner was a necessity I thought.
The inside birthday wishes are from the Peaceful Moments stamp set. Here is a look at the inside of the card. It is a gift card holder which adds to fun.
There is still plenty of room to write underneath the card. No worries for you there.
Paper
This gorgeous DSP is from the Sun Prints Designer Series paper. Both the stripes and the distressed looking gray work perfectly together and are pretty to boot. Plus they highlight the stamped images. It always surprises me when I think to stamp on the DSP. When the paper is a light enough color it works for images, but this paper was perfect for the sentiment and helps tie everything together.
Measurements
This gift card layout is a good one for multiples. It only requires a half sheet of cardstock cut to 4 1/4 X 11, and then scored at 3 1/2 and 8 3/4. Fold up the smaller scored end for the gift card pocket. There is a White layer under the DSP pieces. It is 4 X 3 1/4 beneath the stripe and 4 X 2 beneath the gray. The Sun Prints striped paper is cut to 3 7/8 X 3 1/8 and the gray is 3 7/8 X 1 7/8.
For the stamped area, the Starry Sky cardstock is cut to 3 1/2 X 2 1/8 with the White at 3 3/8 X 2 1/16. Sorry for the funky measurement there, you can adjust the size to fit your image of course. On the inside of the card, the stamped White is 4 X 2 3/4 with the piece beneath the gray at 4 X 2. And the gray is cut to 3 7/8 X 1 7/8.
