Autumn Leaves

I know the Autumn Leaves paper is unavailable but it is returning.  And this paper is so gorgeous that it can be used year round.  The Autumn Leaves Bundle and all of the other Suite products are available now.  So I have a really pretty card to share.

Stampin' Up!, Autumn Leaves, copper & natural ribbon, Speckled Dots, Jackie Beers

Stamp Bundle

The Autumn Leaves Bundle is a wonderful one!  The leaves stamped have a two step look to them, which I love.  My leaves are all stamped off before stamping on the Very Vanilla card stock.  I wanted a softer look for the leaves.  I have also stamped on scrap one of the Blackberry Bliss leaves and the two small green leaves.  Those two are connected but I cut them apart for my layout.  They give a bit of dimension to the card, especially with the one hanging over a bit.

The leaves all have matching dies.  There are both solid and embossed dies  for each leaf.  And that great sentiment layer is one of the dies as well.  I really like the indented corners and stitching around the edge.

Additional Suite Products

This card uses all products in the suite with the exception of the Oxidized Copper Specialty paper.  I did use a small strip of the DSP, but you could use any color matching paper there.  The stamped leaves panel was embossed using the Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder.  I love all of the texture of this embossing folder!  We have had tile products before but I have to say that this is by far my favorite.

The other products from the suite I used are the Adhesive Backed Speckled Dots.  There is a single one of the green on the sentiment layer.  There was so much color and texture everywhere already, but that sentiment needed a touch of bling.  And the final item is the Copper & Natural Ribbon Combo.  I only used the copper ribbon.  It is zigzagged behind the sentiment.  The ribbon is very easy to work with and adds a great shine and color.

Papers

The paper choices were a problem because there were too many choices!  I went with Blackberry Bliss as the card base.  I love the deep purple leaves in Fall so I naturally gravitated to that color.  It pairs great wit the Copper Clay layers and the touch of the Old Olive of the DSP strip.

The card is a little different from the normal.  It is 5 1/2 X 7 1/2 and still scored at 4 1/4.  This leaves the 1″ section on the right side for the strip of DSP.  And it makes for a pop of pretty DSP without having to use a lot of it.  I have a large card club and to only use a strip allows me to spread my paper a bit further.  The same may apply when doing multiples of a card!

Thanks A Bunch

I have been playing in my happy space all weekend preparing for upcoming club and class.  My mind has actually been creating some fun cards and one of the best is the one I have to share with you.  It uses the Thanks A Bunch stamp set from Sale-A-Bration.  There is nothing better than a Free stamp set that is a good one!

Stampin' Up!, Thanks A Bunch, Tea Boutique, Double Oval Punch, Scalloped Contours Dies, Jackie Beers

Stamps

These carrots as well as the sentiment are from the Thanks A Bunch set.  The carrots are stamped using Pumpkin Pie Ink and then the detail is stamped using Soft Suede Ink.  I tried Pumpkin Pie and stamping off for one layer but it was too light.  The darker for the scratches on the carrot look more realistic I believe.  For the leaves I did stamp off.  They are stamped using Old Olive Ink with a second stamping for the shadow.

Papers

There are a variety of papers mixed together on this card.  Having all of the DSP makes mixing and matching both challenging and fun!  I started with Pear Pizzaz as the card base.  And no I did not use it on any of the stamping.  I simply liked the lighter green.  The two layers of DSP are both from the Tea Boutique Designer Series paper from the Annual Catalog.  That paper has tea related items and florals on one side and fun designs on the opposite.  These are both “opposite” sides of 2 papers.

Dies, Punches, and Embellishments

The scalloped edge on the left was made using the Scalloped and Contours Die set.  Sadly I do not think to use these fun edging dies very often.  I believe it works great on this card though.  Because I wanted all of the scallops to show, I left a wider area and have that DSP only showing on one side.  The striped DSP piece is showing all around the carrot layer.

To finish the card took some thinking and looking around.  I finally decided to add the Parakeet Party Metallic Ribbon around the carrot layer.  This added some dimension and shine as well as grounding the sentiment.  The sentiment is stamped on the same DSP as the scallops are from.  Yes I love this and again do not think of doing it very often!  The little oval is from the Double Oval Punch.  And the final step on this one is to add some of the Iridescent Pastel Gems.  They are fairly light and do not show well in the photo.  There are three total, two green and one orange.

Thank you for visiting with me.  I hope you have a great day!

November InKing Royalty Blog Hop

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s November Blog Hop! November is a time of gratitude and thanksgiving, and we’ve made projects that say “thanks!” to special people in our lives. We are excited to share our creations and hope you love them! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

My card for today says Thanks very clearly!  However the flowers may not seem appropriate for November.  Since the weather here in Georgia cannot seem to decide on a season, I am going along and using flowers for my Thanks.

Stampin' Up!, Honeybee Home, Honeybee Blooms Dies, Amazing Thanks Dies, Scalloped Contours Dies, Rustic Harvest DSP, Jackie Beers

Dies

This card is more about what Die sets than Stamp sets.  So I am going to begin here with Dies.  The background scalloped layer is cut using the Scalloped Contours Dies.  I used the second largest one.  Those scallops draw your eye in and show off more of the DSP behind it.

The sentiment is from the Amazing Thanks Dies.  What better way to say Thanks than in large double layer script form!  And since that is such a pretty and great statement piece on the card, I simply tucked in some flowers behind it.

The two flowers and bee , plus the added greenery, are cut using the Honeybee Blooms Dies. White showing around the die cuts sort of blend into the card because of the white swirls in the green DSP.  And it is mimicked somewhat, but in reverse, with the Thanks.

Paper

Even though the flowers may not say November, my colors were chosen more to fit the time of year.  Both of the sheets of DSP are from the Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper.  I particularly love the swirls in the Mossy Meadow layer, but the Crushed Curry tone on tone piece is a stand out!

Stamps

Last but not least is the Honeybee Home stamp set.  The two flower stems and the bee are included in the set.  They are stamped with Smoky Slate Ink and then colored using Stampin’ Blends.  Having these items a bit less vibrant softens the card and allows the Thanks to pop a little more.  And to finish the card I added a trio of Pearls scattered around the flowers.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop,Jan Dufour at Stamp Me Silly. There’s lots of inspiration to be found in this group – and you don’t want to miss it!

A Happy Thanks

I have gone back to the Annual Catalog for some fun and non-holiday cards.  Today’s is from the Happier Than Happy Bundle.  It is a happy Thank you card!

Stampin' Up!, Happier Than Happy, Happy Forest Dies, Happy Forest Friends, Rustic Metal Dots, Jackie Beers

Bundle

My original thought when starting this card was for a Happy card.  This cute bear definitely gives off the Happy and Smile vibe I was looking for.  And the fact he is part of a bundle with dies is a huge bonus.  This is the Happier Than Happy Bundle that includes the Happy Forest Dies.  I will say that my first opinions of this suite of products was that it was for children.  But after seeing the pieces and playing with them, I totally changed that opinion.  They make great SMILE cards!

The bear was stamped with Soft Suede ink and then die cut.  He is raised using Stampin’ Dimensionals to give some depth to the card and make it look more like he walking in front of those cute flowers.  And the sentiment frame is adorable!  I have begun making a list of cute frames like this one to use with different sentiments.  Sometimes I forget to look further than what I am currently working with and that is sad.  So to finish this card I added the tag and sort of “attached” it to the bears hand with one of the Rustic Metallic Dots.

Paper

This paper is so pretty and saved me from having to decide on a stamped background.  The little woodsy scene is perfect as is.  And to compliment the color of the flowers, I went with a second sheet from the Happy Forest Friends Designer Series paper.  I love the colors and the small hearts.

I hope you have an awesome weekend!

Love and Thanks

One of the main things I love about Stampin’ Up! is the friendships I have made.  And the products are a close second.  Today’s card is a fun and quirky way of saying Thank You and showing Love using one of the Funny and Whimsical stamp sets.

Stampin' Up!, Forever Friendship, Celebration Tag Dies, Sun Prints DSP, Sahara Sand Ribbon, Jackie Beers

Stamps

This adorable typewriter is from the Forever Friendship stamp set.  It has fun images with witty sentiments as well as this Thank You shared with Love in the shape of the heart.  Here is a closer view of the typewriter.

Is that not the sweetest little included sentiment?  Sadly the typewriter may seem antique to the younger generations now.  (Maybe even to ones who are middle aged now! YIKES!!)  Regardless, it is a fun image and a very sweet way of saying Thank You to someone.

Paper

If you noticed the paper the typewriter is stamped on is a bit darker than usual, that is because it is a piece of DSP.  Sometimes I remember that it is OK to stamp on the DSP, and I always love the results.  This is a piece from the Sun Prints Designer Series paper.  As is the Navy and White speckled piece.  Night of Navy and Basic White are a combination that you cannot go wrong with.  They give a very crisp and clean look.

Dies and Embellishments

In place of a bit of bling or different embellishments, I used Dies and Ribbon for the Pop of extra on this card.  The two heart Dies are from the Celebration Tags Die set.  This is one that is so fun and handy to have.  If you remember a card I did a few weeks ago with a gift card holder on the front, then you saw one of the tags.  You can see that card HERE

In the second photo you can see the details on the White heart with the stitching on the inside.  The larger blue one is the same, it just doesn’t show well in the photo.  Layering the hearts was not quite enough of a finish when I realized I needed to add some Sahara Sand.  Out came the Sahara Sand and Old Olive Ribbon Combo.  These cotton ribbons make beautiful bows!  So a small bow sandwiched between the two hearts was the finish.  And they are not raised when applied to the card to keep them from being thicker than they already are.  It could still be mailed easily if you are careful of the orientation of this layer when putting in the envelope.

You Are The Nicest

The card I am sharing today is based on a leftover die cut piece from a class.  It stars the Texture Chic Designer Series paper.  That paper is so beautiful!

Stampin' Up!, Texture Chic, Honebee Home, Blossoming Happiness Dies, Brushed Brass Butterflies, Jackie Beers

Paper

You may remember this piece of the gorgeous Texture Chic Designer Series Paper from a previous card.  It was used in a similar layout then.   One extra piece remained after I did the die cutting to get the maximum amount of these from one piece of DSP for the class.  For sure this is not a piece of paper that I wanted to waste!  My favorite part of the paper are the images on it.  There is no need for us to stamp on it, because Stampin’ Up! has done that for us.  What a great reminder that we can stamp on the DSP!

The Petal Pink and Soft Suede were pulled from the DSP piece.  They create a great base for the more colorful layer.  And tearing the edge of the middle layer adds detail without having to really do anything.  But always remember to tear towards you on all sides to get the similar look.

Dies

The “notebook edge” die is actually the only one I used and is from the Blossoming Happiness Dies.  For me this single die is almost worth the Die set!  Truthfully, there are great dies in that set, it is simply a favorite for now.  Plus it adds quite a lot of detail and flexibility by bending and giving it the worn look.  But is just as pretty if left flat.

Stamps

Similar to the single die, there is only a single stamp used on the front of the card.  The You’re The Nicest is from the Honeybee Home stamp set.  A bee from the set was intended,  but was canceled at the last minute. Instead I went with the Brushed Brass Butterfly to embellish the sentiment.  That strip is stamped and then angle cut using my Paper Snips.  There was nothing fancy in that.
