Holly Christmas

I have a #simplestamping card to share with you today.  There is no fancy designer paper, just stamps, ink, paper and a punch.  Although I did add Stampin’ Blends for coloring.

Something I did not mention is that in addition to being a #simplestamping card, this is also a one stamp set card.  I cannot say it is a bundle however.  The stamp set is the Christmas Gleaming set that was a bundle last year with the Gleaming Ornaments Punch Pack.  It all came back this year as one of Stampin’ Up!’s Returning Favorites sets.  Sadly it is not still a bundle so no 10% discount.   But I will say it is still definitely worth the price.

I used a bit of a different color combination for today’s card.  I used Old Olive, a forever favorite green, but paired it with Poppy Parade.  It is still a red, just a sort of orangy red!  I do love how the two look together though.

The holly is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored using both of the Old Olive and Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends.  I then stamped the ornament on the card, as well as on scrap paper.  I went ahead and colored both.  I always do that.  The ornament is stamped in Poppy Parade Ink and colored using the Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blend.  The crown of the ornament is colored with Poppy Parade blends.  The ornament is attched using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The finishing touches are the bow and the Merry Christmas.  I stamped the Merry Christmas and then used my Paper Snips to cut it down.  Since they are straight lines, it is not a difficult cut.  The bow is from the Ornate Garden Ribbon Pack.  It is attached using a glue dot.

Thank you for stopping in on your Monday.  I hope you have a great week ahead and will come back tomorrow for another new project.

Gift Wrapped Lever Card

Last week I shared a lever card I made using the Prized Peony stamp set.  Today I am sharing the same card but with a Christmas Theme.  I have included a PDF and a video.  If you are looking at this on your phone or tablet, you will need to click on the place I have highlighted.  I haven’t quite mastered the video, editing, and all that goes with that part!  So here is the Christmas card.

I love the various bows in the Gift Wrapped Bundle.  It is hard to choose which one to use.  The companion punch is awesome and fits the various bows.  For right now, as I tend to not put inside sentiments until I am ready to send a card, the bow is the only stamping on this card!

The DSP is my favorite of the Christmas paper.  It is the Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper.  I am sure you have figured that out since I use it quite often!  Sorry about that.  I have already used one pack of the paper.

The card is very simple to put together.  However there are several layers!  I had made this card for a class and changed it up for my Stamp Club last month.  In doing that, I created a PDF.  So just click on the link below to get the pdf.

As I said, I made a video for this card as well.  It is quite easy to build, but sometimes seeing it is what I need.  And again, if you are on your phone or tablet , or are looking from the email subscription you may not see the video.  But if you go to my blog it will show there.

Here is the Video :

Tinsel In A Tangle

Today’s card is one I made for a swap with some of my Stampin’ Up! fellow demonstrators.  We couldn’t do a weekend together due to covid, so did a swap to at least have a bit of sharing.

The stamp set is the Don’t Stop Believin’ set.  I adore all of the stamps in this set.  It also has the large Santa stamp that I have used previously.  I think we all can relate to the tangled lights and tinsel!!

For the background I wanted to use the Tis The Season Designer Series Paper.  It went best with the colors I invisioned for the elf.  The downside is that it is 6X6 paper.  I love 6X6 paper, but it limits your usage when doing multiples.  To solve this problem, I cut strips from some of the ones I felt best went together and layered them on some Whisper White.  Then all I had to do was flip it over and cut off the excess.  I love this technique of paper piecing.  It’s by far the easiest one for me.

I stamped the elf with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored him with a variety of Stampin’ Blends.  The sentiment is stamped in the Memento Ink as well.  I just realized that I took this photo before I decided it needed a bit more bling!  To achieve that bit of bling, I added a green from the Holiday Rhinestones just to the left of the sentiment.  I only added the one and it was perfect.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I greatly appreciate you checking my cards and I love to read your comments.    I found on Friday that anyone reaching out to me from my blog using the Contact Me button, was going to spam!  If you were one of those people, I am SO SORRY!!!!  It is fixed now, and hopefully will never be repeated!

Best Time Of Year

Today’s card is a perfect layout to use leftover strips of designer paper.  You can alter everything easily to coordinate for a specific occasion.  My version today is a Winter or Christmas card.  Although the colors are not your traditional Christmas colors by any means.

The jolly polar bear is from the Warm & Toasty stamp set.  It is full of cute winter images.  The DSP is the Play With Pattern Designer Series Paper 6×6 stack.  I love all of the colors in the package.  I chose the Night of Navy and Calypso Coral for my pairing.

The bear is stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored using Stamin’ Blends.  There really is not much to color. I did highlight the edges of the bear with the Light Pool Party Stampin’ Blend to show the “cold”.  It does not show up very much in the photo.

The sentiment is from the Host Rewards stamp set A Merry Hello.  It is an adorable stamp set that was high on my must have list when the Mini Catalog debuted.  I love the look of stamping on DSP.  I just forget to do that sometimes.

I have all of the measurements listed just below so you can give your scraps pieces a new look.  Thank you for visiting today!  I really appreciate you stopping by and love to hear from you.  I very much appreciate your comments.  Although I had some glitches on Wednesday’s blog hop with comments.  They all went to spam!  Yikes!!  Hopefully that is all corrected now.

Measurements :

  • Calypso Coral base card is 8 1/2 X 5 1/2, folded in half
  • Night of Navy layer is 4 1/8 X 5 3/8
  • Center Calypso Coral layer is 3 1/8 X 2 7/8
  • Center bear layer is 3 X 2 3/4
  • left side strip of DSP is 1 1/4 X 5 3/8
  • bottom sentiment DSP is 3/4 X 4

Merry Notecard

Today’s card is a quick, cute and easy to make multiples of.  I am using the Whisper White Notecards and Envelopes.  The star of this card though is “leftovers” from other cards.  I love “Leftovers” !!!

The “Leftover” is the DSP in the center.  If you are a regular follower of my posts, you may recognize it from Wednesday’s Pal Blog Hop.  This is the die cut center of the “frame” for Santa Claus.  You can see that post HERE.

I keep all of my pieces that are die cut leftovers in a little basket on my desk.  I was looking for a quick, but cute, card for today and spied this piece.  I added the background of Real Red card stock for a bit more color.  The ornament is from the Christmas Gleaming stamp set and is punched with the small ornament punch.  (This is one of the Returning Favorites Bundles in the Mini Catalog)

The ornament is stamped in Real Red and colored with the Light Just Jade Stampin’ Blend.  I stamped the sentiment and since it is just a rectangle, cut it out with my paper snips.  To give it the backing, I simply adhered it to the Real Red card stock and fussy cut again.  The finishing touch of the ribbon bow is a cutie!  It is from the Playful Pets Trim Combo and has been used on many other projects.

Thank you for visiting today.  I really appreciate it and would love for you to leave me a comment.

Believe for Pals August Blog Hop

Hello, welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month our Design Team is showcasing “My Happiest Season.” We hope you enjoy and will be inspired by them! Don’t forget to leave comments! We love hearing from you. At the end of my post, you will find the full line-up to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

I love Christmas, and always have.  I even collect Santa Claus figures of any kind.  To choose my favorite season of the year there was no question what my card would be about.  It was just down to which stamp set to use.

I went with the Don’t Stop Believin’ Stamp Set from the Mini Catalog.  I could not resist this Santa image.  I love all of the images in the set, but this one was tops.  It is a fairly large stamp and I wanted it to be the focal point.  Saying that, I ended up adding several extras.  But I think he is still the star.  I stamped Santa with Smoky Slate Ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends.  The fur and his beard have a touch of Wink Of Stella for some shine.

To cut the “frame” for Santa, I used the new Celebration Labels Dies.  I cut the opening from Tis’ The Season Designer Series Paper.  I also used the Foam Adhesive Strips to raise the cut out from underneath.  This is a great alternative to using quite a few Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The holly is from one of the Returning Favorites stamp sets.  It is from Christmas Gleaming.  I was so happy that set was one of the returning ones.  I used those holly leaves several times last year.  The holly and berries are colored using Stampin’ Blends.

The finishing touches are the ribbon and sentiment.  The white ribbon is one of three from the Flowers For  Every Season Ribbon Bundle.  I paired it with the red from Playful Pets Trim Combo.  And finally the sentiment is from the Don’t Stop Believin’ set.  I cut it with one of the Layering Ovals.  I don’t usually leave a sentiment a single layer like this.  But I didn’t want to add any more layers to this one.

Thank you for stopping by my blog!  Please leave a comment and let me know your favorite Santa!

More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Mark your calendars for our next blog hop on September 9th when our theme is “It’s the Sentiment that Counts.” The Design Team will showcase a sentiment as the focal point of their project. Don’t miss the fun! Until then, please stay safe and have fun in your craft room.
