Merry Moose

Today’s card is a winter card as much as for Christmas.  I love mixing the stamps and designer series paper to make cards that are for more than a season.   This one works as a masculine card as well.

Who doesn’t love a Moose with a scarf?  LOL!!  I wanted to give him a softer look and decided I did not want to fussy cut the scarf in the stamp set.  I adore the Braided Linen Thread and thought the extra piece as a scarf worked.

The trees are from the Merry Moose Bundle as well.  I stamped them once full strength and then again before re-inking to get the different shades of green.  The one on the far left is stamped a third time without re-inking.

Thank you for stopping by today!  I have a cute Halloween card to share tomorrow for Trick or Treat day!

Nautical Smile

I have another card with the Nautical Theme for you today.  I shared one a couple of weeks ago.  You can see that card HERE.    I have to take a break from the holiday themes occasionally for birthdays and other card needs.

The Designer Series Paper is the star of this card, as is the case with quite a few of my cards.  This one is the Come Sail Away DSP.  I paired it with the Sailing Home stamp set for the lighthouse.  The large SMILE comes from the Daisy Lane stamp set.

The measurements are:

  • 5 1/2 X 8 1/2,  5 3/8 X 4 1/8, 5 1/4 X 4 for the base and main layers
  • 4 7/8 X 2 1/8 , 4 3/4 X 2 for the rope DSP layer
  • 3 3/4 X 2 1/8, 3 1/4 X 2 for the lighthouse layer

Thank you for stopping by today.  Please return on Monday for a week of more new projects.  I hope you have a great weekend.

Sailing Home

I have taken a break from the different holiday cards and gone back to the Annual Catalog again.  I am playing with the Sailing Home and the High Tide stamp sets.  They both work wonderfully together.

Stampin' Up!, Sailing Home, High Tide, Waterfront, Jackie Beers

I paired the Sailing Home stamp set lighthouse and  birds with the light from the High Tide stamp set.  They are stamped in Gray Granite and Smoky Slate with Daffodil Delight as the Light.  To enhance the simple stamps, I layered the image on the Stitched Nested Labels Dies.

The sentiment is from the Waterfront stamp set.  I wanted something simple and the “friend” fit the bill perfectly.  It is layered using the Layering Circles Dies and tied on with the Night of Navy and Sahara Sand Baker’s Twine.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you will give this layout a try.  It is a quick and easy one that would be very easy to make multiples of, or to dress up with a few more embellishments.

Masculine Birthday

It can be quite difficult sometimes to make masculine cards.  I have a hard time with trying to personalize a masculine card when I know the person well.  I believe I have solved my problem for the time being.  The Rustic Retreat seems to be the answer.

I have found that most men like the outdoors to some degree or other.  And what is not to love when it comes to the mountains?  So I believe the Rustic Retreat has endless possibilities.  I tried to give the illusion of a cabin in the woods.  Of course I had to add an animal.  I chose the Black Bear as they are prominent in the Smoky Mountains.

The sentiment is from the Rustic Retreat set as well.  I added the sprig of pine in a stamped off Mossy Meadow and added the sentiment over top.  The two layers of the sentiment are the Timeless Label Punch and the Everyday Label Punch.  To ground the tag, I wrapped Linen Thread around several times and secured it on the back of the base layer.  I then wrapped several strands together and tied a bow.

I hope you will look to this stamp set and see if it meets any of your masculine, or anyone who likes the mountains, card needs.

Rustic Anniversary

Today is our anniversary.  So I am sharing the card I made for my husband.  I struggle sometimes with masculine cards, and a special one is especially difficult for me.

I bought the Rustic Retreat stamp set as a Winter / Christmas set to use.  But when I was looking for the set for the anniversary card, I stumbled upon it and pulled it out.  After considering, I decided it would work perfectly.  At first I stamped the animals together with trees in the background.  But it just did not feel right.  So back to the paper trimmer and this was the result.  A totally different layout than I started with!

When I searched for the proper background, I was looking for greens to match the grass in the animal squares.  I couldn’t find what I liked, so then just went through all of the designer series paper.  I found this piece, believe it or not, on the back side of one of the Come Sail Away DSP sheets.  I don’t know if it’s supposed to be coral or something underwater.  But I feel like it works perfectly.

Thank you for stopping in today.  I hope you will return on Monday for another new project.  Hope you can get some stamping in this weekend!!  I am planning on it!

Mosaic Thank You

I realized as I was typing this post that I am using the Mosaic Mood Designer Series Paper two posts in a row.  Sorry about that.  But it may give you ideas of your own for this gorgeous paper.

Stampin" Up!, Memorable Mosaic, A Big Thank You, Cup of Cheer Dies,Jackie Beers

The shades of green in this sheet of the DSP is just WOW!  And I love the specks of Soft Suede thrown in.  I had to layer the Soft Suede to help those specks pop a bit more.  The shading on the tree is from the stamp itself.  I love that Stampin’ Up! has done this effect on several stamp sets.  It is like you used two step stamping but really didn’t need to.  A win for sure.

The tag on the tree is from the Cup Of Cheer Dies.  The perfect layering is one of my favorites.  I simply added the little bow using a couple of strands of the Linen Thread and attached it with a glue dot.  I would be lost without the glue dots.

I have listed all of the supplies at the bottom of the post.  If you shop with me and spend under $150.00, please use the Host Code below.  Any order of $50.00 and over in product will receive a small gift from me.  And don’t forget the DSP Sale!  All of the DSP choices that are included in the sale are listed on the flyer below.  You can click on it to enlarge it.

Thank you for stopping by today.  Please return tomorrow for the monthly Pals Blog Hop.  There are always a lot of gorgeous projects for your pleasure.
