A great way to let someone know we are thinking of them is by sending a card. And today’s card is Sending Love & Hugs! What a great combination.
Stamps and Dies
This card is one that I consider a Smile card. It brings a smile to my face with the fun colors and sentiment. Hopefully it does to you and the recipient as well. Plus it has SMILE in the name. The Sending Smiles Bundle is a die bundle. It includes the flowers and sentiments I used with additional pieces as well. Another nice thing about this card is that it was made using only the one stamp set. All of the sentiments which pair with the “Sending” are just as cute as this one is.
For the Dies used, most are from the Bundle. This includes the flowers, stems, sentiment shape, and the double layer of “Sending”. Additionally I used one of the Scallop Contours Dies for the shape of the background. Those scallops fit the personality of the other pieces.
Paper and Color
Strangely enough for me, the stamp set came before the DSP this time. But in deciding what colors to use for the flowers, I looked at different DSP to get them. And I found this sweet piece from the Butterfly Kisses Designer Series Paper. The bold hearts are a perfect match.
The flowers are Fresh Freesia stamped onto Fresh Freesia cardstock. The leaves and stems are Parakeet Party, as is the sentiment layer. Since these colors are softer, I wanted a bolder color for the large layer. And the Starry Sky fit perfectly. Again, I chose that from looking at which color stood out the most on the DSP piece.
Extra Touches
The two layers for the “sending” sentiment are what really makes this card I believe. And I will admit to having had to die cut two of the top layer. The first time I failed to add some of the Adhesive Sheets to the cardstock prior to cutting. Those letters are really too fine, and it’s a long word, for me to attempt to add liquid glue. So an adhesive sheet is a time and sanity saver for me!!
The final touch for the card was adding a little bit of bling. This time I used a couple of the Glossy Dots. They come in a variety of colors on one sheet and a variety of sizes. There are two of the small ones one each end of the sentiment and a large one on the largest flower.

Having cards on hand is one of the best outcomes from doing a blog. To maintain my “on hand” status, I like to do a variety of cards. Today’s card is a “Note” card, but a full size one! Using the Cactus Cuties Bundle make this a Fun time as well.
There is definitely no rule about Note Cards being plain. My version has a bit of bright and shiny to it.
Stamps & Punches
This adorable cactus stamp set is aptly named. It is called the Cactus Cuties. And better yet, it is a Punch Bundle. These are my favorites! After stamping the three different cactus fillers for the pots, I decided to punch the pots from DSP. There are a couple of stamps for different pots, but I wanted them to shine. Additionally, the Just A Note stamp is part of this cute stamp set.
The pink flowers are a stamp and part of the punch as well. However, I simply punched them from cardstock. I wanted bright to go with the darker greens. After choosing the bright pink, I decided it would work perfectly as the cad base as well. Sadly one of the pink flowers fell off of the cactus and is laying on the edge of the pot. LOL! A bit of whimsy in the card.
Paper and Dies
The flower pot and the layer of DSP both are from the Simply Elegant Designer Series Paper. This pack of gorgeous silver and gold paper had not been utilized in quite a while. It was time to bring it out. Paired with the largest of the Scalloped Contours Dies for the layer, it really adds some unexpected shine. These Dies are really a favorite due to the different scallops on the various sizes.
The Layers
The Magenta Madness base card is cut 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4. For the layer, the largest of the Scalloped Contours Dies was used. And the White stamped layer is 3 X 4 3/8. The flower pots are punched and added with Stampin’ Dimensionals, as are the pink flowers.

I hope you had a good Holiday. I relaxed at home but was able to hear parts of the parade from my driveway as well as see the flyover.
Yesterday I shared the Picture This Dies in a cute card. You can see that by choosing Gallery in the Menu Bar. Today’s card is using the circles that were die cut out of the frame from yesterday. I love that they also have the stitching on the inside edges.
Today’s card is using the Basic White Notecards and Envelopes. I believe these circles would work just as well on a full size card. The choice was more that I needed some notecards to send out.
Designer Series Paper
The gorgeous DSP sheets that are paired with the Picture This circles are from the Sweet Symmetry DSP. They are great colors with a touch of a “country” look in the floral sides. The other side of each sheet is more tone on tone colors.
I used three different sheets from the DSP pack. They all coordinate well and each have the Soft Succulent color. I chose the Flirty Flamingo for the heart. That Die is from the Snail Dies. It is the perfect size for the small circle.
Finishing Touches
The For You sentiment is from the Wrapped Bouquet stamp set. I love this type sentiment as it works for pretty much any reason. I will admit to using a retired 3/4″ Circle Punch for the sentiment. I held on to this one as it is great for the finger slot on boxes and small sentiments. Even though it is retired, this is one that can be found at most craft stores. The other circles are the Layering Circles dies.
For the finishing touch I used the Holiday Rhinestones. I chose three different colors that matched the DSP. It is a tad bit unusual, but I liked it.

I am giving some love to a stamp set that I feel has been sort of left out in all of the great sets in the Mini Catalog. This is the Lots Of Heart set. It is a really sweet set with three different hearts and some cute sentiments. I made a quick Note card that I am really happy with.
As you can see there is not a lot to this card. But Notes are usually pretty simple. I have been trying to incorporate the Retiring In Colors this month. Sadly they will be gone before we know it. For this card, I paired Pretty Peacock with Granny Apple Green. Both of these colors, surprisingly, work well with quite a lot of other colors.
The DSP is from the Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper. It has Granny Apple Green and the Pretty Peacock in a fun pattern. To match the pattern of the DSP, I embossed the banner with the Dainty Diamonds Embossing Folder. I see diamonds in the DSP and thought it was a great match. The banner was made using the Banner Triple Punch.
The heart is from the Lots of Heart stamp set. I stamped it in Granny Apple Green and used my paper snips to cut it out. It was very easy to do. Yes, there are matching dies and I did not even think about it until after I had fussy cut! LOL!! The sentiment is from the stamp set as well. It is stamped in Pretty Peacock and then cut using the Classic Label Punch. For the finishing touch, I added a single one of the White Resin Hearts. It really pops against the Pretty Peacock Banner.
Thanks for stopping by today. Remember that the 2019-2021 In Colors will all be retiring at the end of the current Annual Catalog. That is on May 3rd. Most likely the In Colors will all be sold out by that time if history repeats. I do know that Rococo Rose is already on low inventory.

I want to share some sunshine here and make you all relax and hopefully Smile! So the next couple of posts are going to be along those lines. Today I have a daisy, which is simple flower that always makes me smile.
I have a mix of bundles for this card. The Daisy Lane stamp set debuted in a previous catalog as a bundle with the Medium Daisy Punch. Although they are no longer a bundle, they are both in the current catalog. The other is the Many Mates Bundle. It is the sentiment and the background for the daisies. The sentiments for this set are varied and a mix of fonts. The mixed fonts are always a favorite of mine.
I also used the Lovely Label Punch for the sentiment. I adore the two different shapes for the ends of the punch. In case you missed it. I did a tip in one of last weeks posts that shares how to get the equal distance on each end of your sentiment. Click HERE to go to that post. The tip is in the middle of the post.
For the daisies, I punched four daisies to make the two flowers. I fussy cut the small daisy and the fern. The fern was an experiment. I stamped it on Whisper White card stock, and to say it didn’t look good was mild. The white actually shined, in a bad way!! So I used my Light Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Blend and went over the entire leaf. I was happy with that. I was trying not to use another set of dies to get some greenery.
Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you will return tomorrow for another Smile project.

When I mentioned yesterday that I would be up early to make my new catalog order, I obviously did not read the “Go Live” time. 🙁 It is not until 12PM Mountain Time. So for those near me in the Eastern Time Zone, we do not go live until 2PM. That is so sad. I was all excited to get up early and get my order in. It just means longer anticipation.
For today’s card, I am doing a little bit of #simplestamping. The card I made could not get any simpler. That does not mean it is not a cute card. I personally love it.
I have showcased two New items. The main sentiment layer is one of the Flowers For Every Season Memories & More Card Pack pieces. That is a mouth full!! But these cards are so pretty. If you are not familiar with the Memories & More line of products, They are on pages 154-155 in the New Annual Catalog. They can be used for journaling, photo backgrounds, and cards, as well as scrapbooking. The sentiment is from the Lovely You stamp set and is stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
The base of the card is one of the Whisper White Note cards and Envelopes. I cut a piece of the new Just Jade card stock to fit the dimensions of the card. But that left extra space on each side of the M&M card. So I placed it over to the left, with equal edging. I then added a piece of the Daffodil Delight Ruched Ribbon on the extra space on the right hand side. Easy Peasy!!
