Daisy Smiles

I have a very Happy card to share today.  At least I believe it is one that will make you SMILE!  I also added a technique that is not as often used as most.

I believe daisies are just Happy Flowers.  They seem to jump off of the card here.  I used both the old Daisy Punch and NEW Medium daisy punch today.  Each is two punched out flowers layered on top of each other.  I also added the Perennial Essence Floral Center to each flower.

The background is Direct Ink To Paper.  I simply opened the ink pad and drug it across the face of the Whisper White card stock.  When I have shared this technique before, it was done on Glossy card stock. This time I used just regular Whisper White, not even the Thick version.

The two colors I used are Pretty Peacock on the bottom and Seaside Spray on the upper section.  I went over it a second time in spots where I had lifted a tad early.  I like the light and dark that you get in doing this technique.  You do not want to press too hard.

The leaves are from the Daisy Lane Stamp set and are stamped in Granny Apple Green.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.  I love one stamp set cards!!  I stamped the Smile on a scrap of card stock and then only punched one end with the Pretty Label Punch.  I accomplished this by placing the piece of card stock inside the cutting area from the back.  It was smaller than the punch area, so it was easy to line up top and bottom and then just punch the one end.  I love playing with our punches to get different looks!

MEASUREMENTS:

  • Card base is 11 X 4 1/4
  • Layer is 5 3/8 X 4 1/8
  • Center layer is 3 7/8 X 3 3/8
  • White Center is 3 3/4 X 3 1/4

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you will return on Monday for more new projects.  Please check out the information below on the Bonus Days and the current Join Promotion.

Something For You

I am sharing something a bit different today.  I am showing you the June Paper Pumpkin Kit, or at least part of it.  In case you do not subscribe to Paper Pumpkin, it is a box of wonderful products that arrives in your mailbox once a month.  We do not know ahead of time what is in the box.  Generally it is cards with all of the embellishments, glue dots, ink, and a stamp set.  The June PP was one I really LOVE!!!  It included mini cards to keep in a little folder in your purse.  I love having the 3 X 3 cards in my purse to hand out to folks that I appreciate when I am running errands.  This little pocket will be wonderful to hold those.

The little blue folder is the holder and these are two of the cards in the kit that I put together.  I never make them exactly as the pictures show!

I also made one of my 3 X 3 cards to go in the pouch as well.  Here it is.

I made several of this little card for my purse stash.  I used the wonderful new Host Rewards Stamp Set named Time For Tags.  The stamps match the Timeless Label Punch that is also new.

For this card I used Whisper White as the card base and layered the new 2019-2021 In Color 6 X 6 Designer Paper stack.  I stamped the image with Terracotta Tile Ink and then colored it with Stampin’ Blend Markers.  To give a little bit of different color behind the tag, I added a Mossy Meadow punch with the Story Label Punch.  It partners very well with the Timeless Label Punch.

I hope you will consider making the 3 X 3 cards to have on hand “Just Because”.  It is a nice way to hopefully brighten someone’s day.  They also are perfect as Gift Tags.  And it is easy to match your gift decoration.

Magnolia Hello

The most time consuming part of producing this card was the coloring.  And that is not very much.  I was pleasantly  surprised with how it turned out.

This card measures 4 1/4 X 4 1/4.  So it will fit in a regular A2 envelope.  I love square cards in that it makes cutting the layers very easy and doesn’t challenge my math skills.

I stamped the Magnolia with Soft Suede ink.  I like the softer look it gives to the flower.  I colored the stem with Crumb Cake and the leaves with the Dark Mossy Meadow.  For the flower, I colored the center and some of the defining lines with the Light So Saffron.  So Saffron is one of the NEW Stampin’ Blends available in the new annual catalog.  Of course I snapped all of the  new ones up right away.

Even though I used So Saffron Card Stock and Stampin’ Blends, I used Crushed Curry Ink for the Hello stamp.  I wanted it to be a bit stronger color to go with the darkness of the Mossy Meadow leaves.

Thank you for stopping in today.  I really appreciate it and hope you will return on Monday.  The complete supply list is at the bottom of the page.

Free As A Bird Pals June Blog Hop

Welcome to the Pals’ June  Blog Hop. We’re so glad you’re here because we made some great projects using “Anything with Wings”. You may be starting the hop here or coming from a previous Pal’s blog. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

I am sharing birds for my “anything with wings” challenge.  This is actually my second card.  I switched from butterflies to birds.

Stampin' Up!, Free As A Bird, Stitched Nested Labels, Subtle Embossing, Bird Ballad, Jackie Beers

This is the negative of the Stitched Nested Labels that I shared on Monday’s card.  I love getting two cards from one piece.  I embossed the So Saffron with the Subtle Embossing Folder prior to cutting with the Stitched Nested Labels.  (They are bundled with the Free As A Bird stamp set!)  The gorgeous DSP is the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper.

The birds are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with a variety of Stampin’ Blends.  I decided to fussy cut the birds to give more dimension to the card.  The trick is to turn the paper and not your scissors!  I also stamped and cut out the small flower from the stamp set to anchor the banner at the top.

COLOR COMBINATION:

Thank you for visiting today!  I hope you enjoyed my card and the projects of the other Blogs in the Hop.

More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Don’t forget to show us some love by commenting on our creations. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, July 10, 2019 when our Hoppin’ Pals share their “Mixing It Up” projects. Don’t miss the fun!

Smile

I have a cute little card to share today.  But first I need to make a correction to a statement I made on yesterday’s notecard.  The Vanilla and Whisper White Note Cards ARE still available in the new catalog.  I mistakenly said they had retired.  YIKES!!!  I am so sorry, and thrilled that I was wrong.

Okay, on to today’s project.  I am sharing the Daisy Lane stamp set.  This is the new set that matches the original daisy punch, with the bonus of fitting the smaller daisy punch.  The small one is new and is a bundle to this stamp set.

After saying that the Daisy Lane has a new matching punch, I did not use it.  The flower I chose to use does not fit the punches.  It was not hard at all to fussy cut.

I stamped the ferns in Garden Green and the base of the flowers in Old Olive Ink.  The flowers are stamped in Mango Melody and then colored with the Mango Melody Stampin’ Blends.  A super easy card to do.

One of my go to ribbons is the Linen Thread.  I wrapped it around the top two layers three times and then used three strands to make the bow.  Quick and easy and I love the texture that it adds.

Thank you for stopping in today.  I hope you will return on Monday and hopefully I will have all of my new products put away and organized to work with.  I have been in a mess this week!!  Hopefully you have a wonderfully weekend.

Abstract Scallops

I am sharing another of the Hidden Gems in the new Annual Catalog.  Today I am excited to show you the Scallop Notecards and Envelopes.  They are replacing the White and Vanilla Notecards that retired, although they may still be available on the clearance rack.

These new envelopes are in four colors that you can match with so many of the Stampin’ Up! colors.  Here is my quick little card.

I chose to try the Balmy Blue scallop card to begin with.  They also are in pink, old olive and terra-cotta tile.  I paired mine with a piece of Whisper White card stock that I stamped the Abstract Impressions flowers on.

I used the new Purple Posy Scallop Linen Ribbon to add some texture to the bottom.  This comes in a few of the new colors and is awesome!

OOPS:  I made a mistake.  I used the Purple Posy Ink on this project.  It is the one that there were issues with the formula.  So I apologize, but it is not orderable at this time.  I am so sorry!!!

My unconventional flowers are stamped in Purple Posy ink and Rococo Rose ink.  The Purple Posy is full strength and the Rose is stamped off once.  The Old Olive for the stems are some full strength and some stamped off as well.

The scallop notecard is 3 1/2 X 5.  I cut my Whisper White layer down to 3 X 4 1/2.  It is raised with dimensional also.

Thanks for stopping in today.  I will have a more regular card to share with you tomorrow….I hope!!  But please do not dismiss these Hidden Gems when looking through the catalog.  And if you do not have a new catalog, or a demonstrator, please let me know.  I would love to get a catalog to you and help you with your stamping needs.
