You Make Me Smile

I seem to be on a Fall card making theme.  Today’s card is from one of the most versatile stamp sets, or the entire suite, that Stampin’ Up! has.  It is the Color Theory Suite and the Colorful Seasons Bundle.  I love everything in this suite, but especially the bundle.

I just adore these delicate leaves from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits part of the bundle.  And with the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets they are a piece of cake to adhere.  After I placed the leaves it seemed like I really didn’t need anything else!

I sponged the background of the leaves and then splattered the open space.  I know technically you are supposed to do things in 3’s, but I only added 2 of the Enamel Shapes.  I just wanted to highlight the sentiment.  I say “rules are meant to be broken” …..in some cases!!

Thank you for visiting today!  I appreciate your comments very much.

Please do not forget to look at this Awesome special for Paper Pumpkin.  New Subscribers can try their first month for 50% off.  That means it is only $10.00 to get the first box.  The contents are worth well over that amount.  There is no obligation to continue the subscription.  But I hope you will fall in love with it as I have.  If you decide that you do not want it after the first, or even the tenth, you simple go to the website and cancel.  It is that easy.  So give it a try at this half price rate.

Hello Fall !

I love when Fall smells hit the air!  Although living in Atlanta we do not really get very much Fall.  But I am going to pretend for today’s card.

Stampin' Up! Merry Cafe, Merry Cafe, stampinup , Jackie Beers

Merry Cafe’, 144965

Can you smell the pumpkin latte?  I love anything Pumpkin….pumpkin pie, pumpkin cake, pumpkin decorations!!  So when I saw this sentiment in the new Merry Cafe’ stamp set, I knew that would be the focus of my first card .

COLOR COMBINATION:

Thankfully the card is not as dark as these colors look !  Yikes…..  With sufficient white space it works I believe.  The DSP is Pick A Pattern Designer Series Paper.  It is bordered in black and black also borders the Whisper White to ground both of them.

I stamped and die cut the wrap for the cup, using the Coffee Cups Framelits.  Since that and the tag are raised, I chose to stamp the cup and lid directly on the whisper white.

The leaves are stamped in Crushed Curry , which is stamped off one time, just for a little cup decoration.  Linen Thread attaches the tag, which is from the Corrugated Elements accessories.  I adore those!  And the added heart is from the Regals Enamel Shapes.

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you have an awesome day.  I have the supplies I used listed at the bottom of the post.  You can click on any photo and be taken directly to my online store.

Enjoy The Little Things

Today I have CASED Julie DiMatteo from her Wednesday Night Facebook Live.  If you have not viewed any of Julie’s videos, please go to YouTube or her Facebook page and check them out!  She is awesome and has quite a few 3-D items. Look for ThePaperPixie.com.  But Wednesday was the Watercolor Smooshing technique.  And I have to say that it is addicting!!

I will not even try to explain how to do this background.  I will say to go to Julie’s Facebook page and view the video.  You can click HERE to see it.  I do LOVE the way it turned out.  And each time the results are totally different.

This is what I love about paper crafting.  We get to just play with product and we end with cute cards.

You’re The Best #GPD100

Today’s card is for the Global Design Project’s 100th Challenge.  I accepted Brian King’s challenge to CASE his card.  You can go HERE to see all of the designer’s cards and play along as well.  My card is made using the Daisy Delight Stamp set.

Stampin' Up! Daisy Delight, Jackie Beers, jackiebeers, stampinup

Daisy Delight, 143669

Most of the cards made with the Daisy Delight set have been with yellow daisies.  So I wanted to be a little different!  I used Peekaboo Peach and paired it with Wild Wasabi.  However, to make a softer color I stamped off with the Peekaboo Peach for the flowers. The flower centers are Enamel Shapes in Regals (Cajun Craze).

The embossed background is the Petal Burst Embossing Folder.  And the focal point is cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits and then the Layering Circle Framelits.  The sentiment is flagged by using the Banner Triple Punch and just barely inserting the strip of card stock.

COLOR COMBINATION:

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you enjoyed the card and will go over to the Global Design Project to view others that have been CASED.  Have a great day !

Life Is Short So Squeeze It

I had the Lemon Zest Bundle on my first order from the new Annual Catalog.  I fell in love with the sentiments immediately.  Then I didn’t get around to using it until recently.  Previously I did a quick card using our Note cards and Envelopes.  However, this card is pretty quick to make as well.

Stampin' Up Lemon Zest, Jackie Beers, Independent Demonstrator, stampinup

Lemon Zest Bundle, 145360

For today’s card, I stamped the lemon slice on Whisper White with So Saffron.  I debated on just stamping off, but thought the lighter tone would do better.  I then stamped the two sentiments on each end of the Whisper White strip, and then layered the three strips together.

I used the Daffodil Delight and Old Olive Stampin’ Write Markers to splatter old olive onto the sliced lemon sheet and daffodil delight onto the sentiment strip.  Other than stamping and punching out the lemon and leaves….that is it!  See I said it was quick and easy!!

MEASUREMENTS:

The strips are 2 X 5 1/4, 2 1/4 X 5 1/4, 2 1/2 X 5 1/4

Just A Note

I have another cute little 4 X 4 card for you today.  This one is very flexible in terms of giving.  I love these kind of cards.  Sometimes you just need a “note” to send or give.  Both of the stamp sets I used for this card are the ones that you should consider for staples in your collection.  They are great sentiments and backgrounds to build on.  The background and flowers are from the Host Rewards Set – Background Bits.  And the sentiment is from the set Better Together.

Background Bits, 144029

I love using bright colors and soft colors together.  This card makes me think of the Day Lillies that I have in my backyard.  The rusty/orange color are always so bright and cheerful.  That was my color inspiration.

COLOR COMBINATION:

I realize that is way more colors than normal!  I sort of got carried away 🙂 But I believe they work well together.  The base of the card is the NEW Thick Very Vanilla card stock (Yay!)  with Cajun Craze as the strong layer.  The background stamping is all Sahara Sand.  The geometric lines are full strength Sahara Sand and the writing is stamped off once Sahara Sand.  The flowers are colored with markers on the stamp.  I used the Calypso Coral to totally color the flower portion and then just swiped the Daffodil Delight over the tip.  Be sure to wipe the tip of your marker each time after doing this technique. Otherwise you would end up just swiping the Calypso Coral again.

I did not want to add another layer to the focal point.  So I took the Cajun Craze marker and ran the side of it around the edge of the card stock.  It adds color there and is more controlled that sponging and less bulky than another layer of card stock.

Thank you so much for visiting today.  I hope you like the card and the little techniques I mentioned.

MEASUREMENTS:

  •     Thick Very Vanilla = 8 X 4
  •     Cajun Craze = 3 3/4 X 3 3/4
  •     Very Vanilla = 3 1/2 X 3 1/2
  •     Very Vanilla = 2 1/2 X 2 1/2
