Birthdays are my favorite cards to make as they are generally for a friend. Card making is about sharing our love of crafting with friends and family. Today’s card is a multiple layer floral version.
This card uses a group of different dies, stamps, and papers for a birthday challenge. It is for the Make My Monday Challenge. My fellow designers and I hope to give you ideas and inspiration for your own versions. You can check the other cards and also add your own by clicking on the badge below.
Stamps and Dies
These pretty flowers and leaves are from the True Beauty stamp set. The flowers were die cut using the matching Organic Beauty Dies. All of the flowers were inked and stamped using Rich Razzleberry Ink. One of the two together was the “stamped off” version. The softer color works well. And the leaves and stems are all done with Mossy Meadow Ink. For the bundle of buds, I used the Rich Razzleberry and Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Write Markers.
To add to my floral card, I used the Split Card Texture Dies for the lattice look on the left side of the card. This die gives such awesome detail. It comes with a second similar die. The Rose and Gold Specialty Designer Series Paper is a much thicker piece than most of Stampin’ Up!’s DSP. Even with running it through the Cut & Emboss machine three times, there were a few pieces that had to be punched out. So keep that in mind when using this die. However, it is well worth the extra effort !!!
Papers
The pretty floral paper behind the lattice die cut is from the Awash In Beauty Designer Series paper pack. So the other colors were chosen from that piece. Rich Razzleberry is the card base as well as the flower colors. There is Balmy Blue as the layer. It was supposed to be shown again around the sentiment, but I ended up in a different direction there. Can you relate?
Finishes
After adhering all of the layers and the flowers, I had to decide where and how to add the sentiment. To make the sentiment pop, I know it seems odd, but I went back to Basic White! With all of the colors, the white actually showed better than anything. This is where the blue got pushed to the side and the Sweet Sorbet Metallic Ribbon for a double loop bow was used instead. A simple flagging of each end of the sentiment was all it needed. (The sentiment is from the Sending Smiles stamp set) And the final touches were a scattering of Rhinestones around the flowers.

Today’s card stars the Rustic Harvest Designer Series paper. The gorgeous flowers and colors are a perfect fit to this time of year.
Paper
The gorgeous Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper is so pretty. These colors are perfect for Fall but would work any time of year. One of my club ladies commented that she is never sure of the best way to use this type of paper when there is solid space. This layout seems to fit that question perfectly. Plus you can get more cards from one sheet of paper when not using nearly as large of a piece of it.
All of the colors used are pulled from this piece of DSP. Merry Merlot is the card base color and not one I seem to use very often. The Merry Merlot needed a warm and royal color to accompany it so I went with Mossy Meadow. And surprisingly the large White layer fits well. Maybe it is by pulling the white from the flowers in the DSP.
Stamps
Sentiments with different fonts are a definite favorite of mine. The Biggest Wish stamp set is unique in my opinion. It has the large and bold words, like the Happy, and then the same in the smaller cursive like the birthday. It is a perfect mix and match type set with all of the most used sentiments.
Due to the fairly large open White section on the right of the sentiment layer, I knew something was needed there. The small bunch of flowers came from the Happiness Abounds stamp set. They are a different flower from the DSP but are colored the same. And since they are not adjacent to the DSP it works fine. To add a bit of bling I went with a few of the Elegant Gems as a finishing touch.

Making cards can be fun and challenging! Occasionally it takes a paper a little while to speak to me. This Rustic Harvest finally spoke out!
Papers
The star of this card is this piece from the Rustic Harvest Designer Series paper. This pack of papers is beautiful and has great colors, but this one was a bit more difficult. It was the yellow pumpkins and gourds that were stalling me in deciding which direction to go. Finally my little brain picked up on the gorgeous leaves. And the card was finished! Well, almost finished. By using the Merry Merlot, which is a color I rarely use, it brought the leaves out from that dark background. Of course the larger layer of Basic White helped with that.
Stamps
The Hello Harvest Bundle, Hello Harvest stamps and Rustic Pumpkin Dies, is a match for this DSP. But after finally getting the paper idea worked out, I did not want to cover it up! The banner sentiment is a stamp with a matching die. So using Mossy Meadow Ink and then die cutting the banner I was almost finished. There was quite a lot of debate about a background layer for the banner. But finally I decided it could stand alone. However, I did notice the small leaf stamp and matching die. So I used Merry Merlot Ink and added the little die cut leaf to the top edge of the card. With that leaf and a few of the Brushed Metallic Dots placed around, I declared it good to go.
Thank you for looking today!

The Season of Chic and Texture Chic is one of the prettiest suites ever! So a birthday card using these beautiful products has to be a really nice card.
Paper
Because this paper is so beautiful, it has to be the beginning. Even though it looks a little Shabby Chic, this is a layout I have used many times. Again, it is the beautiful paper that seems to give it a different look. You may be as surprised as I am! This gorgeous paper is the Texture Chic Designer Series Paper. This card showcases both sides of the same piece.
Pool Party was pulled from the “back side” pattern. You can see it as the center layer and the bottom strip. My idea was to punch the center of the DSP using the Decorative Circle Punch and then layer the reverse side back into the spot. It did not fit perfectly and was not what I had envisioned. Even though it does not show well in the picture, I punched a Decorative Circle from a piece of Gold Foil and layered it behind the DSP circle. So now you see little pieces of Pool Party and Gold behind the focal layer.
Stamps and Dies
The Season Of Chic stamp set has a variety of “seasonal” stamps. But I went with the simple, but elegant, flower. It is stamped using Smoky Slate and then colored with the Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends. It and the overlay edging are both cut with the matching Chic Dies . The overlay was left white and only adhered by a glue dot in the center. Surprisingly it gives quite a bit of definition like that.
For the sentiment I wanted a more simple one. This one was found in the Plentiful Plants stamp set. And to give it a bit of a bolder pop, I added a scrap of the Pool Party cardstock to hang below the bottom of the sentiment. Then both were cut at an angle.
Finishing Touches
To help ground the sentiment and add a bit more bling, I used a strip of the Gold Ribbon beneath the sentiment layer. It helps everything to pop a bit more from the darker DSP strip there. And the finishing touch is the larger of the Champagne Rhinestones in the center of the flower. The lightest part of the DSP is a Petal Pink, which is the card base, but there are darker variations all over. The champagne color fit right in!

Showcasing beautiful paper is an easy thing to do with Stampin’ Up!’s Designer Series paper. This card is starring the Splendid Day DSP.
This card was created during a Stampin’ Up! creative day for demonstrators. It was a fun day of creating with a presenter with not a real idea of the outcome until the card was complete. All of the cards were great and not something I would have normally thought to do. This one definitely fits that last statement.
Suite of Products
Generally I do not showcase a Suite of products. However, this Suite is amazing and I love all of the products included in the suite. It is all about the Splendid Day Suite today.
PAPER: The star(s) of this card are the little taco shaped DSP pieces. They are cut from the Splendid Day Specialty Designer Series Paper. The paper has a variety of soft colors with one side being a Foil and the other regular DSP images and designs. To show so many different papers on one card is unusual even for me! Last but not least is the card base of Petal Pink and the banner of Soft Sea Foam. Both of these colors are included in the DSP.
DIES: The taco looking pieces were cut using the die from the Splendid Stems Dies. This shape is a favorite of mine. I have used it on a few different cards because the shape and details are so unique. A bonus is that two of the four sentiments included in the stamp set fit on this die cut! And as you see on the card, it is a great size!
STAMPS: To mimic the pattern in the Foil DSP pieces, the large leaf outline was used as Tone on Tone on the card base. The Splendid Thoughts stamp set includes the sentiments I mentioned above plus a bee and two different stem/floral pieces. Each of those have fill stamps as well. Pairing these with the Die set, which has dies for those plus some extra leafy pieces, makes great focal layers.
Finishing Touches
The shine and taco shapes on this card are so pretty on their own. And the added finishing touches simply emphasize these. Even though the sentiment fits on the taco die, that would be a bit much. So the sentiment was stamped on a piece of Soft Sea Foam. Banner tips were cut using Paper Snips.
Also included in the Splendid Day Suite is the Soft Sea Foam 3/8″ Seam Binding Ribbon. If you have used Seam Binding Ribbon before then you know how wonderful and easy it is to work with. This ribbon is the same. Plus we simply wrapped the ribbon around the white layer and tied a knot. It doesn’t get any easier than that!
For the final touch there has to be a bit of bling. Although with the foil DSP pieces there is already a good bit of shine! The bling added to the sentiment is from the 2021-2023 Opal Rounds.
After seeing a bit of a different layout and use of dies, I would love for you to try a similar card and let me know what you think!!

For today’s Pals Fun Fold Blog Hop I have a Twisted Card to share with you. Twisted is an odd name for a card but is very appropriate in this instance.
And here is the unfolded card to give you a better idea of the Twist.
Twist Fold
This type of Fun Fold has been around for a while. And I have wanted to make it, but the size was too large. All of the versions I had seen were 5 1/2 X 5 1/2 so required a special envelope. Keeping it simple and working with what we have is my preference. So I fiddled with the measurements and this one will fit inside a regular A2 envelope.
Hopefully my directions in the PDF are understandable. Although I will say the most difficult part is making sure the DSP is cut in the direction you want. It took me two tries to get that correct. And there are videos available for the larger size. The directions would be the same with the exception of the height of the card base.
Both of the sentiments used are from the Celebrate With Tags stamp set. For the front, I stamped the sentiment and then cut it apart to fit on the circle section of the tag. It can work by either cutting straight with a paper trimmer or as I did and just winging it with paper snips! Personally I like the bit of angle to the Let’s and You.
Dies
Two different die sets were used for this fun card. The one I love is the Designer Tags Dies. It includes the tag on the front of the card. The little detail at the top plus the stitched edging adds more than you would expect. And the second die is the Layering Circles Dies for the white and Hues of Happiness circles on the tag. If you happen to still have circle punches, they would work also. The white circle is exactly the width of the tag for reference.
Thank you for visiting and please follow along to the other Fun Folds in the Hop.
