Perfect Ornament

Today’s project is starring a new stamp set that has just arrived to my house.  It is perfect for a quick card, or one that is not so quick.  I have made a quick one for my first use.  The paper it is paired with is fabulous as well.

Stampin' Up!, hang an ornament, season of green, deckled rectangle, blending brushes, old olive, mossy meadow, wild wheat, jackie beers

Stamps

The adorable ornament here is from the new Hang An Ornament stamp set. There are matching Dies that can be purchased as a bundle. However, I went with a simple card and just stamped the image. I love how there is an open center to add words. The image is stamped using Mossy Meadow ink. And the words are stamped in Wild Wheat ink. The words are part of the set as well. As are the extra little leaves at the top corner. They match some of the leaves in the ornament image. Without those added to the top I thought it looked a little plain.

Papers

The papers used are both from the Season of Green And Gold Designer Series Paper. The left side is one of the main sheets and the right is what I consider the back design. I love how they look together. All of the other papers are pulled from the left sheet. The card base is Old Olive, with a layer of Wild Wheat. Then the images are stamped using Mossy Meadow and Wild Wheat. Just a few colors for a beautiful card.

Extras

The Deckled Rectangle Dies are what I used for the ornament layer. The torn edge was just enough of an addition over a straight edge layer. To add a little extra texture, I added some color to the edges with a Blending Brush and the Wild Wheat Ink pad. A very simple and easy way to highlight the torn edges.

The final touch is some bling. To carry on the Gold, which to me the Wild Wheat has the look of gold, I added three sequins. These are the Adhesive Backed Sequins so just pick them up and place wherever you want them.

Sentimental Wishes

I tried to post yesterday morning as usual and failed miserably! The site format changed on me and I had not had enough caffeine in my system to process it all!! I hope some of you can relate! I and the post are still a work in progress. So please bare with me for a few days.

The project I have to share today is a mix of products and is a fun fold as well. The Sentimental Wishes is an old time looking mix of Christmas images. At least they are ones that remind me of my childhood, and that is old.

Stamps

The Sentimental Wishes stamp set is where this adorable stocking comes from. I love the “old” look of it. To keep the image a little softer I stamped it using Basic Gray Ink and then colored with Stampin’ Blends. For some sparkle to the toe, heel, and cuff I used Wink of Stella. It does not really show in the photo, but is nice in person.

This is the open view of the card. Inside I have added a sentiment from the stamp set. And a sweet little bow for a nice addition. I love that it is just the right size to really highlight the sentiment.

Papers

The fun candy cane paper is from the Snowy Scenes Designer Series Paper. This is the reverse of the one of the snow globe or penguin sheets. I forget which. But all of the reverse sides are similar to this instead of the larger scenes. I used this to choose Real Red for my card base, and then after coloring the stocking image, the Garden Green from that. DSP is always the easiest way for me to at least begin choosing colors.

Finishes

This card has quite a lot going on. So I did not add my general lots of bling. I did add to different things though. The gold twine is a bit of bling. It is wrapped around the candy cane layer and then tied into a bow. It gives a touch of shine. And the other is a single little peppermint. These are so cute! They are named Red and White Peppermints. Which is a great name, as they look like little peppermint candies. They come in two sizes and I used the smallest one. A single one ties in the candy cane stripe on the stocking layer.

Thank you for stopping by today!!!

Snowy Hugs

Before I get to today’s project, I wanted to remind you that the Kit Sale is going away soon.  It is over on Halloween!  So if you have one, or more, that you have been considering now is the time.  You cannot bet the 30% off.

I have a a sweet Winter card to share today.  It is not necessarily a Christmas card as it is more of a Caring card.  I thought the set was adorable when I first saw it.  And I am just now getting around to inking it up.  It is a fun one for sure.

Stampin' Up!, snowman hugs, snowy scenes, everyday details, pearls, jackie beers

Stamp Set

This sweet snowman and bunny scene is a single stamp from the Snowman Hugs stamp set.  I think it is a perfect one for friends and even as a thank you during this coming Winter months.  And even better is the perfect sentiment included in the set as well.  There are a couple of snowmen along with a few sentiments that are funny and sweet.  I hope you will take a look at it in the Mini Catalog.

The image is stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then colored using a variety of Stampin’ Blends.  All f them are listed in the Supply List at the bottom of the post. The colors are all pulled from the paper.  I may have taken some liberties with my snowman’s vest.  I used Poppy Parade for the trim and bow tie and then both of the Shaded Spruce for the vest.  The vest has plaid markings.  The overall is the Light Shaded Spruce with the striping being the dark Shaded Spruce.

Papers

This fun paper seemed a perfect match for the snowman.  It is from the Snowy Scenes Designer Series Paper.  This is a great pack that I almost overlooked.  It has snowy scenes like this on one side and then fun plaid, snowflakes, and candy canes on the other sides.  There is something for any Winter card.  I use the Candy Cane piece on another card for later in the week.

The card base and layer were also from the DSP.  I pulled the very light Pool Party as the card base.  I love this color and use it as a highlight fairly often.  Then to help the DSP pop, I added a layer of Poppy Parade.  Once I began putting everything together I felt like I needed to ground the snowman.  So a thin strip of the Poppy Parade did the trick.

Extras

To give the sentiment a little extra, I used the Everyday Details Dies.  These Dies have large holes punched around the pieces.  But the smallest circle is this one I used.  It has smaller stitching and works great here.  To finish the scene I needed some bling.  I could not decide on what would work the best and decided on some color.  But there is not really a Poppy Parade bling.  I fixed that however.  All I had to do was color a few pearls with the Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends.  Easy Peasy!!!

Pop Up Floating Card

My card today is a fabulous one, and a little different.  It is actually titled as a Pop Up Floating Shadow Box card.  That is a mouth full, but is well worth the trouble.  And there is not really a lot of trouble once you see how it goes together.

Stampin' Up!, Autumn Leaves, autumn leaves dies, to market, caring leaves, garden green, jackie beers

This is the view of the card folded flat for mailing.  No problem with the thickness that I can tell.  But here is the really fun part…..

This card is so adorable!!  I love it.  Especially the way it stands up.  This is not an original card to me.  I cased it from Lisa Cursio.  She has a video that you can check out.  The title is the Pop Up Floating Shadow Box.  I have done a PDF Tutorial that might help you as well.  I used it for a class I held.  It is attached at the bottom.

Stamps and Dies

There are two stamps sets that I used.  The decoration for the inside of the card White and the front of the floating shadow box are leaves from the Caring Leaves stamp set.  These are two step leaves that I have recently fallen in love with.  They are a hidden gem in the back of the Mini Catalog.  I stamped all of them with Pumpkin Pie ink.  The filler stamps have the definition to them so even full strength ink looks lighter.

The second Stamp set has matching Dies.  It is the Autumn Leaves stamp set that was a carryover to the Annual Catalog.  Both sentiments are from the set.  And the Die cut leaves on the front and the inside are from the matching Die set.  They have great detail to them.

The Dies used to make the floating layers and front layers are from the Deckled Rectangle Dies.  I used the 4th from smallest to cut the window.  And used it again for the Garden Green layer on the front.  The next size down was used to cut the White layer on the front and the green layer of the floating part.  And then the next size down was for the sentiment of the floating.  Layering Dies are simply the best to have in your stash!

Papers

The papers of this card are very simple.  I kept the layers thin since I was folding a couple of layers when closing the card.  It is unusual for me to not have a layer of color between the base and the DSP.  But not on this card. The pretty country flowers are from the To Market Designer Series Paper.  I had chosen Pumpkin Pie as the card base for a Fall look and this paper matched perfectly.  And the DSP is what picked the complimentary green of Garden Green to highlight everything.

Corner Tuck Card

I have shared a few different cards using this layout of late.  However this one adds the little corner tuck.  It is a fun addition and one I hope you will enjoy.

Stampin' Up!, flowers of beauty, unbounded beauty, shy shamrock, circle punch, jackie beers

And here is a view of the card open.  You can see that it is very similar, when opened, to a couple I have shared recently.

Papers

These fun papers are what makes this card in my opinion.  I love being able to mix patterns.  Plus pairing them with the Shy Shamrock for the card bases was unusual for the inside panel, but works anyway. All of the DSP is from the Unbounded Beauty Designer Series Paper. I have used this paper quite a lot.  It is a favorite with the floral and faded looks each sheet has.  One side is a beautiful floral pattern with the reverse being a faded solid color.  I used one of those on the front of the small card.

All of the additional colors were pulled from the DSP.  The Shy Shamrock of course, but also the Petunia Pop, Pretty In Pink, and Shaded Spruce.  You cannot go wrong when using the DSP as the color coach!

Stamps & Bundle

The stamps used are all from the Flowers of Beauty and Unbounded Love. These, along with the DSP, are part of the Unbounded Beauty Suite of products.  The sentiments are the ones from the Unbounded love set as it is a sentiment set with some fabulous matching dies.  Although I did not utilize those dies.

The floral images are all from the Flowers of Beauty stamp set.  Using the little leaf on the inside of the small card seemed to tie everything together.  It was stamped using Shaded Spruce Ink.  And the die cut greenery on the front of the card is also from the set and stamped with the same ink.  Plus I used the matching die to cut it out. As well as the die for the flower.  I used the 2″ Circle Punch for the sentiment layer for a simpler look there.

Finishes

To layer the sentiment focal point is to me part of the finishes.  I tried layering and raising different parts of it.  But I also had to add bling.  And it needed to stand out a bit.  So I turned to the 2024-2026 Resin Dots in the Shy Shamrock color to be the bling.  It was a great size and in addition does not add any further height as they are fairly flat.  Additionally, if you ever purchase full Suites of products, they are included in the Unbounded Beauty Suite along with both stamp bundles, the DSP, and Glimmer Paper.  The Glimmer Paper was the only Suite item I did not use.

Measurements

This is a card that looks difficult and in fact is very simple to do.  It just takes some cutting of paper.

  • The card base is Shy Shamrock cut 6 1/2 X 5 1/2 and scored at 2 1/4
  • The White layers are 4 X 5 1/4 for the inside, and 2 X 5 1/4 for the left front flap
  • The DSP is 3 7/8 X 5 1/4 for the nside and 1 7/8 X 5 1/8 for the left front flap
  • The corner Tuck piece is Shy Shamrock at 1 7/8 X 1 7/8 cut in half diagonally (you can make two of these)
  • The White for the corner is 1 3/4 X 1 3/4 cut in half diagonally
  • The DSP for the corner is 1 5/8 X 1 5/8
  • Only adhere the corner tuck piece on the left and bottom, NOT along the long straight edge.
  • The small card is Shy Shamrock at 5 X 3 3/4 scored at 2 1/2
  • The White is 2 @ 2 1/4 X 3 1/2 (one for theinside)
  • The DSP is 2 1/8 X 3 3/8

Peace & Joy

I occasionally shy away from the Specialty cardstock as it generally only contains a few sheets.  The one I am using today is not one I could pass up.  The Regal Distress DSP is an “Oh My”.

Stampin' Up!, festive words, regal distress, cherry 7 gold satin ribbon, shaded spruce, jackie beers

Papers

These pretty papers are the stars of this card.  I saw this angle cut on Pinterest and new it was a win to get the most cards from these papers.  The Regal Distress Specialty Designer Series Paper is a great name for these sheets.  They look very Regal to me.  And to extend their numbers for layers, I found a way to use half on each card.

Each piece is cut to 3 3/4 X 5.  By making a tick mark on the back side of each (the back is plain white) at 3 1/2, turning 180 degrees and again at 3 1/2 on the other side.  I then cut from mark to mark.  It leaves this simple angle.  And the papers cut in this fashion will make two cards. The card base is Shaded Spruce to match the tree color in the focal layer.

Stamp

This sweet stamp is from the Festive Words stamp set.  It is located towards the back of the Mini Catalog.  There are no matching Dies so it is just the stamp set.  There are four stamps in the set.  This tree, a stocking, a bell, and a top hat.  Each stamp has a simple word(s) on the image.  They are perfect for quick cards.

The images is colored using Stampin’ Write Markers.  These are perfect to color Red Rubber stamps.  I used Shaded Spruce for the tree, Real Red for the sentiment, Early Espresso for the trunk, and Crushed Curry for the star.  Stampin’ Write Markers are only available in a color family.  Sadly these are unavailable right now.  But…the colors I used, with the exception of the Early Espresso are all from the Regals family.

Finishes

There are only two additions to this card I have not mentioned.  The first is the Cherry Cobbler & Gold Satin Ribbon.  I placed this at an angle across the joining line of the two papers.  And the second is a simple Iridescent Pearl added to the star of the tree.  I did at the last minute round two opposite corners with a retired corner rounder to help the layer stand out a bit.

Thank you for visiting today.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
