Made With Love

I have another new stamp set (bundle) I am breaking out for you today.  It is the set It Starts With Art!  It is adorable in every way.  This set would work for almost any crafter.  I love flexibility.

Stampin' Up!, It Starts With Art, Jackie Beers, Follow Your Art

I fell in love with this sheet of the Designer Series Paper.  It is named Follow Your Art DSP, and has everything in it that is in the stamp set.  This piece just screamed out to me.  I love the bold strokes of color!!

Other than the bright colors I chose, the card is pretty simple.  I stamped the stack of ribbon and colored each one with Stampin’ Blend Markers.  I had to add some Wink of Stella to make them Sparkle! , since that is what the sentiment says.  How cute is that??

Did you notice the little charm hanging from the paperclip?  Those are both from the Follow Your Art Embellishment Kit.  I normally am not too excited about the embellishment kits.  I tend to stick to ribbon and bling.  These were just too cute to do without.  I ran a piece of White Baker’s Twine through the loop of the charm to tie it to the paperclip.  Just for good measure, I added a glue dot beneath the charm to keep it from moving around.

Thank you for stopping by today and always!  I hope you will return next week for some more ideas.

Free As A Bird

The next two days I am breaking out some new stamp sets.  I know other demonstrators have been using them for a few weeks.  I wanted to give some last minute LOVE to the retiring products first.  And I will continue to do that.  But I thought you would like to see some new items, and I was getting antsy wanting to play with them!!

Stampin' Up!, Free As A Bird, Bird Ballad, Jackie Beers

I assume that you guessed the stamp set from the title of the page today!  Aren’t these birds adorable?  And the designer series paper is a WOW!!!  Stampin’ Up! colored several of the pages with the Stampin’ Blends and then photographed it for the paper.  Extreme Talent!!

I chose the branch full of birds and decided to make them Robins.  I know the colors are not perfect, but I love coloring.  You will probably see many variations of colors as I play with this set more.  The Designer Series Paper, Bird Ballad, is great with birds, feathers, flowers, etc.  I chose the feathers today because of the colors and it leaves white space to match the birds.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you have a great day and will return tomorrow.  I have another new stamp set to share!

You’re The Best

I am mixing old products with some new pieces in today’s card.  I love doing that.  It is sort of a “one last spin” with some of the retiring products.

I wish I could say that I did something to create that gorgeous lace layer!!  But I cannot.  It is a FABULOUS set of cards and envelopes that are all cut for you.  They are just waiting for you to choose the color of card stock or designer series paper to place behind the lace look.  It also comes in a gorgeous metal tin.  It is named the Bird Ballad Laser Cut Cards In A Tin.  The envelope is shown here.  I should have shown the back flap of the envelope.  It is a pretty scalloped flap.

I chose Coastal Cabana for the color to show through the lace.  I used a rolled up glue dot in each corner to adhere it to the laser cut front.  The Flirty Flamingo Doily is part of a pack of 4 colors of doilies.  Perfectly named Colored Doilies!!  They are retiring at the end of the month.  I thought it worked wonderfully here though.

I also used the retiring 1 1/4″ Circle Punch to punch out the sentiment from Very Vanilla card stock.  I failed to mention that the cards and envelopes are Very Vanilla.  Sorry about that.

To adhere the doily, I placed a glue dot in the center of the lace layer, then placed the doily over top.  The sentiment is layered with Stampin’ Dimensionals to raise it.  The dimensional also help in adhering the doily.  I topped it off with three Share What You Love Artisan Pearls, another retiring product.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  I really appreciate it.  Please come back tomorrow for another new sneak peek of products.

Fancy Fold Birthday

I am having technical difficulties, so sorry I’ve been delayed in my posts.  Some of you early risers may be wondering where I have been!  Thank you for hanging with me.

If you follow me very often, you know I LOVE folds in my cards.  Various folds are my favorite cards to make.  So today I have another great fold that is super simple to do.  And a great way to use those leftover pieces of DSP.  A win/win to me:)

#stampingup, Stampin' Up!, Needle & Thread, Needlepoint, Jackie Beers

Sorry for the finger in the photo!  It wanted to open up and not be photographed.  Here is the card opened also.

Stampin' Up!, stampin up, Jackie Beers, #simplestamping, needle and thread

I really like this simple fold and it really showcases the designer series paper.  The white section could be DSP as well.  You could add your sentiment and signature on the panel just above that spot, where I have the small flowers DSP.  I wanted to use more of the stamps from the set so chose to have the large white area.  The “stitching” is a nice touch and so easy to line up being the photopolymer stamps.  I did not get it exactly centered but am happy with how they overlapped.

I used Stampin’ Write Markers to color the spray of leaves behind the main flower on the front.  They are not listed in the supply list since you cannot purchase them individually.  I really hate that!!

I have the measurements listed below.  If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thank you for visiting today!  I hope you have a great day and will return tomorrow.

Measurements / Directions:

  • Card base is 5 1/2 X 11 (with 8 1/2 X 11, you only get one card from the piece)
  • Score at 1 1/4, 4, 6 3/4,  Fold and Burnish, then make Mountain/Valley folds
  • Cut DSP 2 @ 1 X 5 1/4 ( This is for the smallest section and I used different patterns for variety)
  • Cut DSP 2 @ 2 1/2 X 5 1/4 ( or 1 DSP and 1 White if you want your sentiment there)
  • Cut 1 White (or DSP) at 4 X 5 1/4

Loyal & True

This week is National Police Week.  The Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington DC is the center of the ceremonies that will be held.  Sadly there will be way too many names added to the memorial wall again this year.

Today’s card is a simple card to honor all Law Enforcement Officers.

I am sad to see this Loyal & True stamp set and the military stamp set retire this catalog.  It will stay with me however.

For today’s card I kept it very simple and clean.  The base is Night of Navy card stock and the Blue Line is Blueberry Bushel.  Other than the main piece, I just added the Loyal & True along with the My Hero.  The only thing raised is the center blue heart.  I fussy cut it and raised it with a dimensional.  I used the Crushed Curry and Blueberry Bushel Stampin’ Write Markers to color the badge.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you have a great beginning to your week and will return tomorrow.

Cactus Bling

Today’s card is a CASE of a card I received in a swap with other PALs at OnStage in  Charlotte.  Unfortunately the maker’s card was not in the envelope, so I do not know who to give credit to for this cute card.

Flowering Desert, 148700

I gave the cactus a little flower on it’s head and added a touch of bling.  Looking at it now though, it almost looks like a much too small little hat!!  LOL!!  I am going to stick with it being a flower.

The background is the Subtle Embossing Folder which gives just enough texture without overdoing it.  I love the embossing folder for a variety of reasons.  The cactus , flowers, grass are a variety of greens and Mango Melody.

I added the ribbon in Calypso Coral with the layered sentiment for some depth.  The sentiment received a flower and bling to match the cactus.  This was a fun card to make!

Thank you for stopping by today.  I really like this stamp set and think it was under showcased.  It has the potential for some really sweet cards.  Unfortunately it is on the retiring list.
