I am working my way through the Retiring / Last Chance list and making cards with some that I think are especially cute. Today’s card is from one of those stamp sets. The We’ll Walrus Be Friends set. It is adorable and works for any age groupl
This card is also playing along with the Global Design Project Sketch Challenge 238. Here is the sketch for the challenge.
I love playing with the shading for the background. I used the Blueberry Bushel Ink and the sponge roller to do the background. The walrus is stamped in Gray Granite Ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends, as is the water and iceburg.
The ribbon is another on the Retiring / Last Chance List. It is the Gray Granite Texture Weave Ribbon. This is an awesome ribbon and is available in Granny Apple Green and Poppy Parade. I have used all three and will be sad to see them go.
The sentiment is one solid sentiment, not the two separate ones I show. I used the Blueberry Bushel Stampin’ Write Marker and colored and stamped the top part, cleaned the stamp and then colored and stamped the bottom part. They are punched using the Classic Label Punch and then put back into the end to make the flag tip.
To finish, I used the Stampin’ Write Marker and “flicked” the tip into the lid to put a bit of splatter across the card. I also added some of the clear enamel dots for some added texture.
I really appreciate you checking in today and hope you will come back tomorrow.
Below are links to the two Retiring or Last Chance Lists. Keep in mind, a Bundle may retire, but the stamp set and dies or punch can still carry over. So look for the individual item. Also, all of the Stampin’ Blends are not retiring. It is only that in the new catalog, they will be sold in the combo pack only. The only ones retiring are the 2018-2020 In Color ones.

I have quite a lot of retiring Designer Series Paper leftover. So I will be using some of that in the coming month. Today’s project is a great way to use scraps of paper. Quite often I do not have enough to make a full layer on a card. This layout today only requires half of a layer.
I used two pieces of the Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper. You could only use the bottom section of DSP and leave the top as card stock. But I love mixing two different patterns.
The stamp set I used is on the Retiring List as well. It is the I Say Hello set. It has great little sentiments that are “just right”!
The ribbon is a perfect match to the Magnolia DSP . However, it is a new ribbon. It is part of the Ornate Garden Suite. You can see that flyer further down on this post.
To make the cuts, I used the New Paper Trimmer. because the lines are marked well all the way down the trimmer. I placed the piece of DSP in the center of the trimmer. Place the top left corner of the DSP against the 3″ line and the top right corner against the 1 1/2″ line. Cut. This looks like you are almost cutting it in half, but it gives just enough of the angle I wanted. You can play with the measurements to get sharper angles.
Thank you very much for stopping in today. I hope you are anticipating the new Annual Catalog as much as I am. I will try to be showcasing retiring items in the next few weeks. Remember the Last Chance / Retiring List means what it is named. It is Last Chance. When the products are sold out, they are gone for good. So if you see anything you want go ahead and order now. Also please remember my Host Code if your order is below $150.00.

Since the Last Chance or Retiring List is just out. I thought I would share of a few of my favorite cards I have made using some of the retiring ones. Today I will focus on Bonanza Buddies. I love those cuties and all of the products in the Suite!
Here is a sweet little tag and bag topper for a small gift of chocolate!
This is probably my favorite one. I love all the bright colors and the adorable guy.
And here the tag is open for what could be an extra surprise.
A quick and easy Birthday card with the cute paper
I hope this gives you some ideas for this versatile Bonanza Buddies Suite of products. I will really miss this one.

I posted a second post yesterday for the Retiring Items. I have those links after this quick card. I know that may be your priority today! I totally understand.
My quick card is using the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper. That papers is so pretty that you could frame it and not worry about doing anything else.
I cut a section of this beautiful DSP and then simply stamped the single flower stamp from the Painted Poppies stamp set. It was a quick and easy card with a few cuts and little coloring. I love the bit of splatter on the stamped flower. It adds just enough!
The sentiment is from the So Sentimental stamp set and is all I wanted for the card. I like little sentiments and then add the rest on the inside.
I have three links for you regarding the Retiring Lists. If you click on the picture of the list it will give you the complete list. The poster will take you to my online store.

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s April Blog Hop! During this year’s blog hops, we are enjoying a year of celebrations. This month’s projects celebrate Springtime, so I hope you are ready for gorgeous Spring colors, flowers and butterflies – and maybe some sweet baby animals. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.
I tried looking in my yard for “Spring” ideas and could only find flowers , birds, and squirrels. Those are all great, but I wanted something different. I opened Facebook to take a break and the first post that popped was a fellow demonstrator with a Kite on the front of a card. The post was from For The Love Of Stamping. As soon as I saw the kite, it reminded me of the Graduation Cap card I did two weeks ago. So I took her idea and designed my own kite card. I used the fold I had created for the other card. New kite flying memories in the making.
My color choices came from the Woven Threads Designer Series Paper. I debated on the order of the three colors and finally ended with this one. It was more due to the gorgeous Seaside Spray Metalic Ribbon. It looked best on the Purple Posy card stock . 🙂
The kite is a miniature of the Graduation Cap Card and opens as that one did. Here is a view of the open kite.
If you look closely at the bottom tip of the kite, you can see a tiny piece of a clear velcro dot. The thickness of the card stock for the kite made it not want to remain closed. So a tiny piece of a cirlce velcro dot was added there. You really do not notice it even in person.
The card itself does open and has a sentiment there as well. The opening of the kite is just a bonus!
The embossed area is from the Swirls and Curls Embossing Folder and fits with the flying the kite in the wind theme. I finished the card with the Happy Spring sentiment from the Fable Friends stamp set layered on circles. The kite string is the Seaside Spray Metalic Ribbon along with a bow from the Whisper White Seam Binding Ribbon. The finishing touch is the Basic Pearl that I colored using the Light Purple Posy Stampin’ Blend to add to the sentiment.
I appreciate you checking my blog today and hope you will leave a comment. I have added a link to the Graduation card and some directions for the kite below the Blog Hop Lineup. Please continue hopping!
Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the bloghop, Jennifer Spiller at Westside Paper Creations. There’s lots of inspiration to be found in this group – and you don’t want to miss it!
Thank you for hopping along with us. If you get stuck during the Blog Hop, please use this line-up as a guide:
Click HEREto go to the Graduation Cap Card. The top fold of the kite is the same as the fold on that cap. The other measurements are listed here. If you have any questions, please contact me and I will be happy to assist you.
Directions:
Card base is 4 1/4 X 11, scored at 5 1/2
layers are 4 X 5 1/4, and 3 7/8 X 5 1/8
Kite piece is 2 1/2 X 7 1/2 scored at 3 3/4. Then like the graduation card, make a mark at 2 1/4 and 5 1/4 on each side and make a scored X using the marks.
Also make a mark on each end of the kite layer at 1 1/4
Fold on all the score lines and then cut from the end center mark to the side mark. Do this on each side to make the bottom point of the kite.
The inside of the kite and the top of the kite are the same measurements. Each is 2 1/4 X 3 3/8. Make marks at the top and bottom of the 2 1/4 side at 1 1/8. On each long side make a mark at 1 3/8 on each side.
Cut from the top to the side mark on both sides and the bottom to the side mark on each side. This makes the pointed ends for the kite.
