December InKing Royalty Blog Hop

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s December Blog Hop! Trees are such a central image in card making (Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter, trees are gorgeous), so we have designed projects with trees to share with you today. We are excited to share our creations and hope you love them! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

To make an “other than Christmas” card, but with Trees, I have moved to the upcoming Mini Catalog.  This catalog and the Bundle I am using will be available to you on January 4, 2024.  I love giving you a sneak peek at new products.

Stampin' Up!, Delicate Forest, One Horse Open Sleigh, Blooming pearls, lost lagoon, jackie beers

Bundle

This wonderful Die Cut focal area is from a new Bundle in the upcoming January – April 2024 Mini Catalog.  It is the Delicate Forest Bundle.  The die cut is one solid piece that has cut outs, but also little partially cut pieces that stand up a little.  When I received my preorder and was looking at this die , I was amazed at how pretty it is.  Now I am in love with it.  To add to the “tree” theme, I went with a natural paper in Crumb Cake for this die cut.

The ,short but sweet, sentiment I used is also included in the stamp set that is part of the Bundle.  These simple words are small enough that I was able to tuck the strip behind the die cut.  I did not really want it to stand out very much.  It is stamped with Early Espresso Ink to bring out the darkest of the trees in the background.  And it is both good and bad that the only stamping on this card is the sentiment!

Papers

The calm and beautiful scene behind the die cut is the One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Paper.  This is one that is an Online Exclusive and is still available.  I love the snow and woodsy images these papers have.  So I believe they are great for other than Christmas.

To continue on with the thought of “trees”, I added a green to the papers.  It is a sort of green.  I chose Lost Lagoon as the card base.  It is in the background of the DSP  along with Pool Party.   And with all of the business of the die cut and the paper, it did not require much of an embellishment.  But if you know me, I had to add some bling.  There is a single Blooming Pearl in the green shade at the base of the little tree.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop, Lynn Kolcun at Avery’s Owlery. There’s lots of inspiration to be found in this group – and you don’t want to miss it!

Mountain View

The card I have to share today is using the Magical Meadow Bundle.  The scenes in this set remind me more of mountains than meadows.  And I love them!

Stampin' Up!, Magical Meadow, Joy of Christmas, Go To Greetings, Distressed Tile, Wavy Trim, Jackie Beers

Stamps and Dies

This beautiful tree image is from the Magical Meadows stamp set.  The fun shape is actually the shape of the image and it’s matching Die.  I really like the rugged look it gives.  The sentiment is from the, in my opinion, must have stamp set titled Go To Greetings.  This set has a few regularly used sentiment in a couple of sizes.  I really love it and use it quite often.  The sentiment was stamped and then the edges were angle cut with Paper Snips.

Papers

This beautiful greenery paper is from the Joy of Christmas Designer Series Paper.  It is definitely not just Christmas paper!  These leaves have such beautiful shades of green that I was able to use Shaded Spruce card stock and Old Olive ink for a perfect pairing.

Details

This is a fairly simple card but has several different texture details.  The strip behind the focal area is embossed using the Distressed Tile Embossing Folder.  That is definitely a favorite folder.  I also added a strip of the Wavy Trim to carry more of the Mountain theme.  And the thin ribbon behind the trim is actually Soft Sea Foam Seam Binding.  I was looking for a soft green and this was perfect.  Sadly it is a retired ribbon, but it worked for me.  I am sure you have ribbon in your stash that would work as well.  The final touch is a scattering of the green Adhesive Backed Speckled Dots.

Last Chance Products

This Magical Meadow Bundle is on the retiring list.  Click on the photo and you will be taken to the complete PDF.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to all!  I hope you are enjoying spending time with Family and Friends.  I am so thankful to be able to share what I love with all of you.  Hopefully you can get in some crafting time today.

Stampin' Up!, Autumn Leaves, Leaf Fall, Speckled Dots, Jackie Beers

Stamps and Dies

This card is made with one of my favorite ever leaf sets.  I love the shading of the stamped images in the Autumn Leaves set.  And being able to add the veining, if desired, really takes it up a notch.  For today’s card I opted to keep everything fairly simple.  The leaves are stamped with Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze Inks.  I added the veining with Basic Gray Ink.

To add a bit more dimension to the card, I die cut two of the small leaves from Old Olive card stock.  And used the lovely frame also from the Autumn Leaves Dies.  The sentiment is from the set as well and fits perfectly in the space.  I am thrilled that this bundle is going to carryover for a bit of time.

Extra Definition

To add some extra definition to this card I used the Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder.  This one is in the Online Exclusives.  It is a great leafy folder and could be used year round.  By embossing on White card stock there is a softer look I believe.  Plus adding the two die cut leaves adds to the texture also.

Papers

The card stocks used are a mix of what could be considered Fall colors.  Old Olive is the card base as well as the focal layer base.  But to add a bit of color, I opted to use Crushed Curry for the first layer.  It helps to give the embossed White a bit of help, and also brings out the Crushed Curry leaf.  I also used it to ground the sentiment . The white on white did not show at all well.   But adding that little scrap strip of Crushed Curry was a perfect touch.  And the final touch is the scattering of the Speckled Dot Adhesive Back embellishments.

Fluffy Birthday

Today’s card is one of the new Online Exclusives.  It is the Fluffiest Friends stamp set. Actually it is a bundle.  However I went with a simple card to show off the cuteness of the fluffy friend.

Stampin' Up!, Fluffiest Friends, Garden Walk, adhesive backed dragonflies & birds, Jackie Beers

Stamp set

The Fluffiest Friend was a set that I knew was coming to me immediately.  I love all of the “critter” sets and this one is especially adorable.  The fact that it is a Die Bundle is even better.  Although I opted to do a single layer and not die cut for this one.  There are six critters with a few extra stamps.  Since I am a cat person, I had to begin with this one.

The adorable cat is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then colored with a variety of Stampin’ Blends.  All of these are listed in the supply list at the bottom of the post.  I also added some of the additional flowers to the bottom.  They match the flower she is holding.

Papers

The papers used are pulled from the DSP of course.  And this DSP is one that I have not used a lot of.  It is the Garden Walk Designer Series Paper.  After using it here, I wondered why I have not used it!  I love these papers.  The colors in these two sheets are what I focused on in card base and my coloring.  The Calypso Coral, Lost Lagoon and Shaded Spruce were the most prominent.

Extra

The extras on this card are a bit different.  I generally do not do two layers of DSP.  They are as much the focal point as the fluffy kitty.  But I loved how they compliment each other.  And the Bling, which there must be, is the new Adhesive Backed Dragonflies & Birds embellishments.  They are a sneak peek from the upcoming Mini Catalog in January.

A sweet letter

Today’s card mixes Christmas DSP with the Stamped With Love set from the Annual Catalog.  They may not have been designed together, but I believe they are a perfect fit.

Stampin' Up!, Stamped With Love, Deckled Rectangle, Very Best Occasions, Traditions of St. Nick, Jackie Beers

Papers

The beginning to most of my cards is the DSP.  This one was no exception.  The retro looking mailboxes are a reverse side of one of the sheets from the Traditions of St. Nick Designer Series Paper.  It is an Online Exclusive that is really nice paper with lots of Old World looking ST. Nick’s on it.  As soon as I saw the paper, I knew it needed to be paired with the Stamped With Love set from the Annual Catalog.

The DSP piece is a muted Mossy Meadow color.  I used Mossy Meadow for the narrow border layer.  But went with Wild Wheat for a richer look.  Actually, the idea for the Wild Wheat came in coloring the fountain pen.  I wanted to make the writing tip either gold or silver.  The Wild Wheat fit the bill for gold.

Stamps

There are two stamp sets used for this card.  The first is the Stamped With Love.  But it does not have a sentiment on the envelope.  So I went with the beautifully written Thinking of You from the Very Best Occasions stamp set.

The fountain pen and the heart inside the stamp are both colored using Stampin’ Blends.  Real Red for the heart and Mossy Meadow and Wild Wheat for the fountain pen.

Dies

To create the focal layers, I used the Deckled Rectangles Dies.  These come in several sizes and are a great to have in your tool chest.  To fit the size I needed, I ended up using the same size for the focal layer and the background layer.  With them being offset it is a perfect fit.  To finish the card, I added a single green pearl from the Blooming Pearls embellishments.

Layers

The layers of the card are 4 1/4 X 11 scored at 5 1/2.  The Mossy Meadow is 4 7/8 X 3 5/8.  And the DSP is cut to 4 3/4 X 3 1/2.

Thank You Gift

Today’s projects are a group of Thank You cards I made for a friend.  Not only did my husband manage to fall and break his ankle, but a good friend broke her arm.  And yes the threes did strike.  Another friend broke several bones in his hand.  Hopefully that took care of all breakage for the near future!!!  That being said, I made a set of Thank You cards for my friend to use.

Stampin' Up!, Whisper White Note Cards, Lasting Label Punch, Fresh As A Daisy, Inked and Tiled, Jackie Beers

Papers

These cards all begin with the Basic White Note Cards.  The note cards are such a great deal and are available in Whisper White, Very Vanilla and Kraft.  The Kraft are Online Exclusives.  These all come in a package of 20 cards and envelopes for the low price of $8.00.

My cards are using the Basic White note cards.  And each has a strip of Fresh As A Daisy Designer Series Paper.  There are four different DSP patterns used.    The strips coordinate with the color of the stamped flower.  Or rather, I coordinated the stamping to the DSP!

Stamps and Ink

The pretty flower is from the Inked & Tiled stamp set.  I really love this flower as it is large enough to stand alone, as I have used it.  The leaves on each flower are direct to rubber colored using the Shaded Spruce Marker.  For the flowers there are different colors to match the DSP.  But all are done with the direct to rubber technique and using the Stampin’ Write Markers.  All of the colors are listed in the Supply List at the bottom of the page.

The sentiment is stamped using Pebbled Path Ink and is the same on each card.  I left the inside blank since they are smaller note cards.  But did finish with a bit of bling to each.  I used the 2023-2024 In Color Dots.

View of Each Card

These are each of the different cards where you can see the different bloom colors used.
