March InKing Royalty Blog Hop

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s March Blog Hop! During this year’s blog hops, we are enjoying a year of celebrations. Hop, hop! This month’s projects celebrate Easter, so prepare yourself for a variety of gorgeous, Easter-themed projects. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

I have once again matched the color of the Hop Banner, without knowing ahead of time what it is.  Hopefully that is a good sign for my projects I have to share.  I rarely do two projects, but I have broken that today.

First here is my card for the Easter theme.

Cross of Hope, Welcome Easter, Stampin' Up!, Jackie Beers

I paired the Cross of Hope Dies, from the Annual Catalog, with the Welcome Easter stamp set .  I really love that particular cross from the dies.  Those dies are definitely a keeper.  My color choices for the card along with the bunny and lamb, come from childhood memories.  My Mom loved any shade of purple. So all of my Easter dresses growing up, at least while I was younger, were shades of purple.  I knew that had to be the base of my Easter card.

My second project is a little variation of a recent project from The Paper Pixie.   Julie’s Easter Mini Gift Bag, you can see her post HERE, was my idea for an Easter basket.  The only problem was I didn’t have candy that fit that size.  However, I found something that fit perfectly without shortening the size of the basket, which is now a bag.

Can you tell what is inside?  Yes, it is a Bath & Body Hand Sanitizer.  I know they cannot be found right now.  But as a crafter, I had several in my craft room for projects.  Now you know that they fit perfectly inside this bag.

I used the Coastal Weave embossing folder and the card stock measurements Julie gives fit perfectly inside the embossing folder.  The handle I is the Braided Linen Trim.  I have included in my supply list the items used for both projects.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop, Ann Murray at Murray Stamps Ink. There’s lots of inspiration to be found in this group – and you don’t want to miss it!

Julie’s 3 X 3 card box.

For today’s project I am channeling my friend Julie DiMatteo , The Paper Pixie.  I have put my spin on her adorable 3 X 3 card box.

For my box, I used the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set and matching Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper.  Since Julie used dinosaurs for her box, it should look totally different !  LOL!!

And here it is with the lid off.

This is the link to Julie’s video on how to make the box.  Click HERE.  It is a super video, as always, and extremely easy to make.

My version of the box is made with the Magnolia Suite as I mentioned in the beginning.  I paired it with colors from the DSP.  I used Mossy Meadow as the box base.   My circle layers are from the Layering Circles Dies.  I used the same ones that Julie did in her video I believe.

The Magnolia Lane DSP has quite a bit of white to pair with the Mossy Meadow.  It also has a hint of the Petal Pink.  I stayed with those colors for the layers. I like the scalloped circle for the center,  and the white shows up very well against the pink.  I stamped the flower with the Petal Pink and then the sentiment over top with Mossy Meadow.  The finishing touch was the Champagne Rhinestone, from the Mini Catalog, as the “O” in Today.

I will share with you tomorrow the matching cards I made for the inside.  I stuck with the Magnolia theme.  I have listed all of the products I used in the Supply List at the bottom of the page.  Thank you for stopping in today.  I hope you will come back to see the inside cards tomorrow.

Candy Bar Holder

I have a candy bar holder to share with you.  This can easily be adapted to any size candy bar.  I found these large Hershey candy bars on clearance at my local grocery store.

You can see this is a fairly large candy bar.  I started with an idea from a pull out type holder I had received at a swap last year.  The bottom on that one was closed just by pressing together with Tear & Tape.  This is a hefty bar of chocolate, and I didn’t believe that would be sturdy enough. So I went with a more regular box closure.  I did keep the pull out idea though.

Here is a picture of the pulled out candy bar.

The Witty-cisms stamp set, new in the Mini Catalog 2020, was a must have for me.  I love the cute stamps and sentiments.  The strawberry and sentiment are one stamp and I stamped it three times to get the extra strawberries for decoration.

I die cut the tags using the Bonaza Die set tag.  I cut one from Thick Whisper White and one from Cherry Cobbler.  You could also use one of the tag punches from SU if you prefer.

The background paper was a leftover piece of Come To Gather DSP.  The ribbon is on the retiring list  as well.

The measurements are as follows:

  • 7 1/2 X 8 card stock
  • On 7 1/2 side, score at 1/2″, then rotate paper counter-clockwise
  • On the 8 side, with 1/2 score at the bottom, score at 3, 3 1/2, 6 1/2, 7
  • Fold and burnish on all the score lines
  • The 1/2″ score line is the bottom.  Cut off the small right edge piece next to the 7″ score line
  • Cut up the scores up to the 1/2 ” mark.  taper the small ones as tabs
  • Place Tear & Tape along the inside of the larger outside section as well as the bottom adjacent to it
  • Place Tear & Tape on the back of each tab.
  • Lay the paper down and fold the small section over, remeove the T&T from the large section and when folded over it should line up perfectly.
  • remove the T&T from the tabs and the bottom section.  Square up the box, fold in the tabs, the flap without T&T and then the one with tape.  once aligned stand it up on the table and use a ruler to go down and press on that bottom flap.
  • Use a hand held punch to center a hole through both layers near the top.

It took 17 ” of ribbon for this.  So it is a good way to use up some retired ribbon.  Run the ribbon from one side, through the other side and even it out.  Place the candy bar into the top of the box and push down while trying to keep the ribbon even on each side. You should have enough ribbon left to tie a nice bow at the top.

Thank you for looking in today.  I hope this gives you ideas for dressing up a candy bar.  If you have any questions, please contact me and I will be happy to assist you.

Treat Match Books

I love handing out little treats as I go about my errands.  I really try to do it during holidays.  So I made some super quick and easy Matchbook Treat Holders.  I used up some old Designer Series Paper that is a bit thicker than some.  I knew I had saved it for a reason.

I see pictures where my stamping friends do infinity shots of their projects.  I never think to do that.  I sort of did that on this one though.

As I said, these are really quick and easy to do.  I have individually wrapped Memento Candies inside of mine.  I get them at Dollar Tree and there are about 20 or so in a bag.  I like that they are not the normal mint or chocolate.

I decorated the beautiful paper with the Happy Christmas from Itty Bitty Christmas.  I cannot tell you how many times I have used that stamp set this year.  It has been a Go To set.

The measurements for this little matchbook is 1 3/4 X 4 3/4 scored at 1/2, 2 1/2, and 3″.  I used the old Stampin’ Up! stapler, but any little stapler would work.  Place the candy wrapping down against the bottom of the fold and staple a little lower than halfway.  That gives room to tuck the top flap under.  As I said, these are super easy.

Thank you for dropping in today.  Please come back on Monday for another new project.

Do you need a Stampin’ Up! Gift Certificate for yourself 🙂 or a friend?  I can help you with that.  Please contact me and I will explain the process.  It is very easy.

Parcels Box of Treats

I am late in sharing this cute little box.  I made it as a roommate treat for OnStage Atlanta last month.  It is the perfect size to hold a variety of items.  I filled this one with different chocolates.

This is the Perfect Parcels Die, which is part of the Parcels & Petals Bundle from page 27 of the Annual Catalog.  This box is pretty easy to fit together and would be great to share goodies with co-workers and friends over the holidays.

Here is another view.

The box is cut using Mossy Meadow Card Stock.  I wrapped it with a strip of Garden Lane Designer Series Paper.  The bow is the beautiful Shaded Spruce and Gold Striped Ribbon.

The sentiment is from #Elfie, my go to for a little gift tag!  I added one of the Gold Glitter Enamel Dots that was from the Christmastime Is Here Suite of Products.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you will come back tomorrow for another new project.  And don’t forget the Year End Closeout sale, some of the products are going quickly!

Cowtail Love

I am at OnStage in Atlanta today and am sharing with you the little treats I made to give to other demonstrators.  I love the sharing of ideas at these events.  So I am going to share with you the two treat holders I made.

A month or so ago I was looking for candy to use as treats for this event.  When I saw the Cowtails I knew it would be perfect to pair with one of my favorite stamp sets.  It is the Over The Moon set.  I love these cows!!

The box is an idea from The Paper Pixie.  I got it resized to fit two of the cowtails inside.  You can see Julie’s post HERE.   Her project fit a small Altoid tin.

My box is narrower and longer than Julie’s and is made with the Mango Melody card stock.  The measurements for the 2 cowtails is 2 1/2 X 10 1/2, score on the 2 1/2 side at 1/2 on each side.  Score the 10 1/2 side at 4 1/4, 4 3/4, 9, and 9 1/2.  Follow the directions from Julie on putting it together.  They are the same.

The second project is much faster to make.  I could not make too many of the boxes due to cramping hands. (Getting old stinks sometimes!)  So I went with a faster version.  This version utilizes the 3 X 6 cello bags.  I made a 3 X 3 piece that is folded in half and stapled to the bag, then layer the decorations to cover the staples.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  If you follow my Facebook page, Blue Line Stamping, I will be posting pictures from a Brian King (Stamp With Brian) event on Friday and Stampin’ Up! on Saturday.  At the last SU event we were able to share immediately new products that we received.  That was a big change from previous years.  Hopefully we can share this time as well.

Come back on Monday to see the card I made as a swap for Brian’s event on Friday.
