Birds Eye Note

The card I am sharing today is a mixture from the different catalogs.  The Birds Eye View stamp set is the star.  I needed a card for my eye doctor and the “spectacles” just seemed the perfect stamp.

Stampin' Up!, Birds Eye View, Very best occasions, thougtful expressions, double oval punch, poetic expressions, jackie beers

Stamps

The Bird’s Eye View with the glasses was the immediate thought I had for this card.  I always love the animal stamps and the glasses simply put this one over the top for me.  The owl, at least I hope that is what this bird is supposed to be, is stamped with Early Espresso Ink and then colored with different Stampin’ Blends.

The sentiment is from the Very Best Occasions.  This is a wonderful set with a variety of sentiments we tend to need.  I love the mix of fonts as well.  And it is a perfect size.

Dies and Punches

The fun owl was die cut using two from the Thoughtful Expressions Die set.  I love this design and the fact there are several different sizes for layer makes it a definite for me.  Plus this is a more unique shape for a circle.  And that is always nice.  I hope you will give a second look at these dies.  And the matching stamp set is great, I just did not use it today.

The sentiment is punched using my favorite punch.  That is the Double Oval Punch.  This is the smaller of the two ovals.  I had intended to use both sizes, but the single seemed to be enough.  Especially with this being a masculine card, I did not want to overwhelm with the shapes.

Papers and Finishes

The beautiful DSP is from the Poetic Expressions Designer Series Paper. This paper has great colors and designs, like this one, that are great for any occasion.  I love the mix of Boho Blue and Mossy Meadow in this piece.  So I paired it with the Boho Blue card base and layer.  The darker Mossy Meadow for the layer grounds the softer colors.  And with a thin border, it helps the DSP to pop.

For the finish I added a strip of the Mossy Meadow to have a landing for the sentiment and the owl layers.  Sometimes card stock works just as well as a ribbon.  And to finish the card I added a trio of the Adhesive Backed Cork Rounds.  These are so unique and the perfect touch for a variety of cards.

Thank you for visiting today!!!

Distressed Birthday

Today’s card is an All Abut You card.  This one is made with distressed products which are not my normal card making.  I love a challenge.

Stampin' Up!, Distressed Tiles, Notes of Nature, Linen Thread, Jackie Beers

Layer

The Distressed Tile Embossing Folder is one of my favorites.  I love the design and the “worn” spots in the design.  And it seemed a perfect choice for this pairing.  With the card base of Crumb Cake, the Misty Moonlight is a great match in my book.  I am partial to blues and this is the one I tend to lean towards.  Plus it really shows the detail of the embossing clearly.

Bundle

The Notes of Nature Bundle is a wonderful set for several reasons.  It pairs perfectly with the distressed look of my embossed layer.  But it could create a multitude of backgrounds.  I have trouble with the large background stamps.  But these small ones included here are perfect to create your own backgrounds.  I used the grid one all over the layer.  Then I had to add some of the splatter here and there.  And I even through in the tiny flower for a softer look.

The sentiment is from the stamp set and states the way a Birthday should be.  It is all about you!  I love the three different sentiments included with this set.  They are so different.  And then to the Dies in the bundle.  The fun notebook die created the holes down the left side.  Stampin’ Up! has had similar ones but this one is long and only adds the holes.  I think there is a lot that can be done with this one.  And those gorgeous twigs of greenery, except in blue, are a great addition for more texture and interest.

Finishes

The finishes to this card are small ones.  With the textures and distressed paper, it really did not need very much.  But to add to the textures, I gave the card two more of different types.  First is the Linen Thread.  It is wrapped around the end of the sentiment with a double bow added.  I love Linen Thread and how easy it ties.  And the second and final touch is  a new embellishment.  The Adhesive Backed Cork Rounds are a fun addition included in the Nature’s Sweetness Suite of products.  One is all I felt it needed and that is showing restraint on my part. LOL!!!  The Stamp Bundle is part of that suite also.  This is all on page 41 of the Mini Catalog.

Thank you for visiting today!  I hope you have a fun and safe weekend.  There is awful weather everywhere it seems.

A Note

Good Morning everyone.  I am late posting today and I apologize to my early morning followers.  The post that I thought I scheduled last night did not post.  That is because I put the wrong date! DUH!!!  And then the internet was out.  So here we are.

Today’s card is a really quick and easy one.  It is all about the Flight & Airy DSP from Sale-A-Bration.  I love sharing how to make quick and simple cards.

Stampin' Up!, Flight and Airy, Notes of Nature, Bakers Twine 3 color pack, Pecan Pie, Jackie Beers

Papers

This card is all about the papers for sure.  The focal bird piece is fussy cut from a piece of DSP from the Flight & Airy Designer Series Paper.  There are a couple of sheets with bird images as well as several more general pieces on the back.  I do not mind fussy cutting and this one was pretty quick to do.  There are two important things about fussy cutting.  First is to have sharp scissors.  And our Paper Snips from SU are awesome.  The second tip is to turn the paper and not your scissors.  This keeps the line going smoothly without the stop and start marks.

There are only two sheets of the DSP used here.  The bird is the also the opposite side of the greenery layer.  And I love the Pecan Pie hexagonish design.  That may not be correct, or even a word.  But I love that design!  It brings out the branch beneath the bird.  And the Pecan Pie card base really helps to pull out that brown.

Stamping

This being a very quick card, there is only the sentiment that is stamped on the front of the card.  This sweet “just a little note” seemed to fit with the bird.  I hope you catch the humor there.  The sentiment is from the Notes of Nature stamp set.  It is another great set, and bundle, in the Mini Catalog.  There are wonderful background builder stamps with that set.

Finishes

To finish this card I added some of the Lemon Lolly  Bakers Twine from the Bakers Twine Three Color Pack, also in the Mini Catalog.  I wanted to bring out a bright color and the chest of the bird with that pop of yellow seemed perfect.  And I love Bakers Twine for creating small bows.  To add to that, I added a trio of Adhesive Backed Solid Gems from the Annual Catalog.

I appreciate you stopping by today!!

Eat Cake

The card I have for you today is another mix of products.  I love this and a adding my new favorite, the new Perennial Postage Dies.  They are such a fun addition.

Stampin' Up!, Heartfelt Hexagon, Perennial Postage, Lighter Than Air, Hooray For Surprises, Jackie Beers

Stamps and Bundles

The star of this card is hard to choose.  I love the different aspects of it.  But to begin with the stamps make sense.  I will say the cake was the inspiration.  It is from the new Hooray For Surprises Bundle.   This set has pull tab openings for a real Surprise to the recipient.  I did not go that route today and went much simpler.  I stamped the cake, which has a matching die, and then added the candle and flame, which do not have dies.

The sentiment matches the cake, but is from a different set.  It is from the Heartfelt Hexagon Bundle. I loved the boldness of this one.  And let’s face it, eating the cake is the star attraction!  The fun opening is the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch.  I really love punches and this is a good one.   It is a great size for most of our sentiments and I like the shape.  Plus using it as an opening like this is an added bonus!

Papers

The papers I chose for this card are much more subtle than my normal colors.  Of course the DSP was the color decider.  This is a piece from the Lighter Than Air Designer Series Paper.  It has such great colors that it was difficult to choose only a couple.  I decided on highlighting the flame from the candle and went with Lemon Lolly for the card base.  Surprising to myself, I did not add a layer between the base and the DSP.  That is also very different for me.  And then the Postage layer in White.  Wow!  But I did use the bright Azure Afternoon for the sentiment and the cake to make up for the less layers.

More Dies and Finishes

The fun outline of the layer is the Perennial Postage Stamp Dies.  This is the 2nd largest of the dies.  I love the Scalloped Contours Dies that are similar sizes, but this gives a unique and different shape.  You will be seeing more of the these guys for sure.  To finish the card I went with fun shapes instead of bling.  The flowers and heart on the cake and card are from the Adhesive Backed Hearts & Flowers embellishments.  They add a Fun look and I though went well with the colors of the papers.

I appreciate you stopping by today!!

Lavender Beauty

The card I have to share today is starring the Perennial Lavender DSP.  This paper is so gorgeous!!  It made the card all by itself almost.  I see many future cards starring this paper.

Stampin' Up!, Perennial Lavender, Perennial Postage, Painted Lavender, Purple Fine Shimmer, Lost Lagoon Bordered Ribbon, Jackie Beers

Paper

The focus of this card is easy to see.  The beautiful Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper is a gorgeous mix of the Stampin’ Up! purples with a bit of Shaded Spruce and Lost Lagoon thrown in.  And the background of Crumb Cake is a perfect base.  I pulled the Crumb Cake as the card base.  Then added the brightest of the purples to the mix.  That is Gorgeous Grape.  I cut the layers to fit normally, but after trying the slanted layering I had to go that direction.

Stamps

The simple sentiment is from the Perennial Postage stamp set.  This sweet sentiment would work for so many occasions.  I tend to leave the inside of cards blank until ready to send.  With this sentiment I can use this card for a variety of reasons when needed.

Die and Finishes

The lovely shape for the sentiment is from the matching Perennial Postage Die set.  There are several different sized “postage” edged dies.  This is one of the smaller rectangle ones.  With the paper being so overwhelming, it adds a little extra touch for the sentiment to stand out.  And to complete the card, I added the Lost Lagoon Bordered Ribbon wrapped around the two layers.  Of course there must be bling!  So the final touch is a trio of the Purple Fine Shimmer Gems.  These are gorgeous in three shades of the purples!

Thank you for stopping in today!!!

Garden Birthday

I am back!!  It has been way too long since I was posting regularly and I have missed it, and making cards.  The Flu hit me Christmas Eve and then my husband.  Finally we are back to semi-normal.  And if you know me, that is close enough. LOL!!!

My first play with new products for the year is a mix of On Line Exclusives and Sale-A-Bration items.  And since the cold is hitting me hard this year, I have opted for more of a springtime card.  It is wishful thinking.

Stampin' Up!, Garden Meadow, Flight & Airy, Rainbow Adhesive Dots, Jackie Beers

Stamp Bundle

This sweet garden set is appropriately named Garden Meadow.  It is a Bundle.  You have probably seen the beautiful cards with the arched window look.  That is a die in this set.  I opted for a simpler card to get back in the swing of things. Please give the OnLine Exclusives a look.  There are some beautiful sets there.  Plus a few of the staple items are in that section as well.  The machine cutting plates are one thing.

The stamps used are all from the set.  I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with a variety of Stampin’ Blends.  Boho Blue is the base of everything, with the accompanying Pecan Pie.  All are listed in the supply list at the bottom of the post.  The watering can I did die cut with the matching die to use it as the grounding piece for the sentiment.

Papers

The card base is Boho Blue to match the colored image.  And the floral DSP piece has Boho Blue as well as the Flirty Flamingo and Bubble Bath colors of the flowers.  I added the DSP piece of Pecan Pie to highlight the dirt and the color used on the sentiment.  Plus I just love the simple detail on that Pecan Pie piece of DSP.  And the DSP is one of the Free with a qualifying order in Sale-A- Bration.  It is the sweet Flight & Airy Designer Series Paper.  There are gorgeous card examples in the SAB Catalog using this paper.

Finishes

The watering can supporting the sentiment is a different look.  I like something unexpected to be highlighted.  Just simple trimming of the end of the sentiment strip gives a little more detail.  And the finishing touch is a couple of the new Rainbow Adhesive Back Dots.  I chose to use a trio of them in the colors of the flowers.  They are Bubble Bath, Fresh Freesia, and Flirty Flamingo.  A perfect finish to the card.

December InKing Royalty Blog Hop

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s December Blog Hop! Trees are such a central image in card making (Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter, trees are gorgeous), so we have designed projects with trees to share with you today. We are excited to share our creations and hope you love them! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

To make an “other than Christmas” card, but with Trees, I have moved to the upcoming Mini Catalog.  This catalog and the Bundle I am using will be available to you on January 4, 2024.  I love giving you a sneak peek at new products.

Stampin' Up!, Delicate Forest, One Horse Open Sleigh, Blooming pearls, lost lagoon, jackie beers

Bundle

This wonderful Die Cut focal area is from a new Bundle in the upcoming January – April 2024 Mini Catalog.  It is the Delicate Forest Bundle.  The die cut is one solid piece that has cut outs, but also little partially cut pieces that stand up a little.  When I received my preorder and was looking at this die , I was amazed at how pretty it is.  Now I am in love with it.  To add to the “tree” theme, I went with a natural paper in Crumb Cake for this die cut.

The ,short but sweet, sentiment I used is also included in the stamp set that is part of the Bundle.  These simple words are small enough that I was able to tuck the strip behind the die cut.  I did not really want it to stand out very much.  It is stamped with Early Espresso Ink to bring out the darkest of the trees in the background.  And it is both good and bad that the only stamping on this card is the sentiment!

Papers

The calm and beautiful scene behind the die cut is the One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Paper.  This is one that is an Online Exclusive and is still available.  I love the snow and woodsy images these papers have.  So I believe they are great for other than Christmas.

To continue on with the thought of “trees”, I added a green to the papers.  It is a sort of green.  I chose Lost Lagoon as the card base.  It is in the background of the DSP  along with Pool Party.   And with all of the business of the die cut and the paper, it did not require much of an embellishment.  But if you know me, I had to add some bling.  There is a single Blooming Pearl in the green shade at the base of the little tree.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop, Lynn Kolcun at Avery’s Owlery. There’s lots of inspiration to be found in this group – and you don’t want to miss it!

Thank you for hopping along with us. If you get stuck during the Blog Hop, please use this line-up as a guide:

Tis the Season

The card I have to share today is a Fun Fold that keeps on folding.  Not really, but it does have a card inside of a card.

Stampin' Up!, Cheers To The Season, Joy of Noel, Deckled Circles, Deckled Rectangles, Elegant Trim, Blooming Pearls, Jackie Beers

Stamps

The large image is from the Cheers To The Season stamp set.  This set has large images like this one, and I really love it.  My fingers were crossed that this set would carry over.  But sadly it did not.  However, a benefit to you is that it is reduced to $17.50 in the Last Chance Products.  And it is well worth that price.

The image is one of the definition stamps, as are the others in the set.  They stamp amazing and look great in any color.  I chose Cherry Cobbler for this one to match the berries of the DSP.

Inside View 1

This card is a multi fold, or multi card Fun Fold.  So the next view is not totally the inside.

The stamp used here is from the Joy of Noel stamp set.  And is cut using the matching Dies.  These are both still available as well.

Inside View 2

This second Inside View is the actual inside of the card.  The stamp set used here is the Modern Garden for this sweet sentiment.  And I added a little strip of the DSP to match the front.

Dies

To help the stamped images to really pop, I used two different die sets.  They are similar, yet different.  The front focal image is made using the Deckled Circle Dies.  I used the 6th and 7th largest for the image and the gold.  This die set is in the current Mini Catalog, but is carrying over to be an Online Exclusive.  There are about 12 dies in this set.  And they are all great sizes up to maybe a 6″ circle.

The second set of Dies is on the Inside View 1.  To back the sweet greenery sprig, I added a Deckled Rectangle Die.  This one is the 3rd largest of the rectangles.  These dies are in the Annual Catalog.  And are just as wonderful as the circles.

Papers

The paper choices are generally first with me.  And the piece of DSP did make the color choices of the ink and card base.  It is from the Joyful Designer Series Paper.  I love this delicate, yet bold, look.  The bit of gold is what prompted me to use the gold circle as a background for the image.  I do not normally use a Gold Foil, but it works wonderfully here.  The card base is Cherry Cobbler which is the color of the berries in the DSP.  And finally a Basic White for the inside card.  The measurements are very easy.  The card base is 6 1/2 X 5 1/2 and scored at 2 1/4.  And the inside Basic White card is 8 X 5 1/4 and scored at 4.

Full Sheet Gift Card

Today is the last card from the One Sheet Technique of last week.  This one is a gift card holder.  These are my favorites as I give a lot of gift cards.

Stampin' Up!, Joy of Noel, Joy of Christmas, Rocking Horse, Poppy Parade, Very Best Occasions, jackie beers

Products

The card looks the same as the other three on the front.  And it should!  The Joy of Noel for the greenery, and the Rocking Horse for the sentiment are a great pair.  Both are still available in the Last Chance Products!  And here is a look at the open card.

The inside sentiment is the same as well.  It is from the Very Best Occasions set in the Annual Catalog.  This is a set you should definitely check out!

Fold

This card begins as a 11 X 4 1/4 card that is scored at 2 and 5 1/2.  Simply fold the 2″ score to the inside and use Tear & Tape on each side right at the edge.  I used a retired small circle punch to make a finger groove as well.  After the pocket is made, add your layers to the front and the inside greeting layer.  This is such a versatile layout.  You can make the Z fold card from Friday or fold the small score to the inside and have a gift card holder.  If you missed Friday’s card you can see it HERE

Thank you for visiting today!!  I promise to have a different card tomorrow.  This completed my four card technique.
