Friday was our Anniversary and I made a fun and different Anniversary card. Actually it is cased, somewhat, from Mary Fish’s Friday card. Her use of the More Than Autumn Bundle hit a perfect note for my hubby’s card.
Stamp Bundle
This layout is a mix of Mary Fish’s card and me spilling glue! My direction went from portrait to landscape to cover that error. But it is a regular crafting thing right! I will explain why this was so perfect for an Anniversary, as you probably think it is out in left field. I love everything pumpkin! So my hubby jokes that in the Fall he become my second love while I indulge in pumpkin. LOL!!!
The More Than Autumn Bundle is one I keep using. It has a bit of everything. For this card I used less than usual. On the inside is a piece of pumpkin pie, but the front uses the “pumpkin” , “love you more than”, and then the heart from the die set.
Other Dies
The three layers with the pumpkin are from the Greetings of the Season Dies. These are amazing Dies! Even if you do not want or need more Christmas sentiments, the Die set is definitely worth having. Each one of the three tags has the tag hole. I just layered them to cover it.
The arrow Die with the rest of the sentiment is from the Adventurous Sky Dies. It fit the size of the words perfectly. And added another little layer. I have lots of small layers going on here.
Extras
To add to the layers, I felt like the background needed some texture. I did not want the card to seem just a pile of different colors. Well the Forever Plaid Embossing Folder fixed that little problem wonderfully! I know you can see the serious detail of the impressions. Sadly it is currently out of stock, but will be back the week of October 7.
To tie in with the Pumpkin I used the Peach Pie Ribbon for the top tag. And then added a simple bow using the Linen Thread. I felt the ribbon itself was a bit large to tie off on it’s own. Plus I just love Linen Thread! And the final addition is the bling. Although this does not have a very shiny touch. These are the Faux Glass Dots. There are a four different Fall colors that look like old glass. I love them, and they fit the card.

Everyone knows I love the cute animals that the Stampin’ Up! Designers create. I have used one of those sets for a sweet birthday card to share with you. A smile and a hug are good things on your birthday.
Stamps
This is a one stamp set card, which I comment on all the time. It is nice on occasion to simply pick everything from one set. This Hearts & Hugs stamp set has adorable huggable animals and sweet matching sentiments. The simple sentiment is perfect for this rather large Hug! So why not use it. Right!!
The walruses are stamped with Gray Granite ink and then colored using both Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends. I tried to add different shades of the gray in their bodies to give a more natural look. Playing around with the Blends in my coloring is something I really enjoy. One day I may get it to a good spot.
Dies
The large walruses were a challenge to decide how to frame them. Then I remembered the Nested Essentials Dies. This was a perfect fit! I called this shape the oblong diamond. LOL!! I am not sure what it is actually called but it remind me of that. These are the two largest of this shape. They fit the card as well as the image. Since the sentiment was much smaller, I was not able to use the flag dies included in the Die set. So I made my own layered flag by clipping the white layer, adhering to the Night of Navy, and then clipping the Navy layer to match. It is not perfect, but close enough.
Papers
The card base was chose to match the walruses. It is Smoky Slate cut to 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4. I added the thin layer of Basic White at 5 1/4 X 4. And then this fun piece of DSP is 5 1/8 X 3 7/8. The papers needed to be larger due to the size of the image.
The wonderful blue plaid DSP is from the Take To The Sky Designer Series Paper. It seemed a great match for the images by adding a bright color without being too busy. Of course the Night of Navy layer came from this paper.
Finishes
There are not a lot of finishes needed or really room for them. So I kept it simple and added a trio of bling. This time I went with the Adhesive Back Sparkle Gems. These are a trio of basic colors. I used the silver sparkle. There is also a gold and a black sparkle gem in this pack. It is a good one to have for masculine cards especially. Plus they are flat embellishments as well.
Thank you for stopping by today!! I hope you have a fun weekend.

The Christmas sets in the Mini Catalog are all fun and beautiful. But I do have a favorite. The Humble Home Bundle is such a simple and sweet set that it gets my Top Pick rating.
Stamp Bundle
The Humble Home is just a cute stamp set with a matching punch. Punches are my preference for quick cards and this one is great. I kept this card fairly simple on the stamping so it would be a quick one. There are a couple of sentiments in the set. And this one is my favorite.
The sentiment is stamped using Garden Green Ink as I wanted a bright green to match the DSP. And the house is stamped with Real Red Ink. The gingerbread trim is colored with Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blend just for an added touch. Plus if you look closely you will notice a little silver door knob. In place of bling, I added this silver pearl for the door knob. This is an addition that would be easy to make any color to match your colors simply by coloring a pearl with Stampin’ Blends.
The house is stamped onto the Basic White. I debated on punching out the house and raising it, but opted for this flat one. However I did utilize the punch to get the adorable heart in the upper corner. Having a separate heart is always handy for a multitude of card projects. Now just to remember it!!
Dies
The Bundle may include a punch, but I still used a Die. Just to give a little added texture, I cut the Basic White rectangle out using the Deckled Rectangle Die set. This size is the 4th largest of the Dies. There are a lot of them to choose from!
Papers
The card base is a basic Real Red base. However I added a lot of bright and fancy with the DSP layer. These Christmas light strings are from the Reindeer Days Designer Series Paper. This paper screams Christmas in a wonderful way. Just looking at these lights makes me smile. And that is what card making should be all about. That and having fun !

I have mixed a couple of Christmas sets and a very simple technique for a cute Christmas card. Trees are always a good option for Christmas cards and so simple to create.
Stamps and Dies
The main stamp set used is a Bundle available from the Online Exclusives. It is the Frosted Forest Bundle. And the trees from my card are from this Bundled set. The trees are stamped using Mossy Meadow Ink and then Die cut using matching Dies. The smaller tree was stamped twice with the second one “stamped Off” first. And the adorable little bird flying above is also from the set with a matching Die. There are actually two of the bird dies to make things a bit quicker for you.
The sentiment layer is a separate Stamp and Die Bundle. It is from the Peaceful Season Bundle. This one is a sentiment stamp set with great shapes for layering the sentiments. I love the one I have used here. The ribbon slots are handy but the little perforated design next to the slots is really pretty and a touch of fancy.
Papers
The brown shades I used here are not my normal Christmas colors. My thought was for a little more rustic than usual. I had the trees in the forest sort of idea and needed a DSP that would work with that. This piece from the Country Woods Designer Series Paper is what I decided on. And the touch of Pecan Pie in the wood grain led to the card base being Pecan Pie. The other color option was going to be Crumb Cake. They both look good against the DSP. So I decided to use both colors and made the Crumb Cake the layer.
These layers are a little smaller than usual to allow the Pecan Pie to help the colors of the DSP to stand out more. The Crumb Cake layer is 3 3/4 X 5 and the DSP is 3 5/8 X 4 7/8.
Technique
The technique may not really be a technique. However it gave the trees the finished look I wanted. I used Blending Brushes to add Mossy Meadow Ink to the stamped trees. They are stamped on Basic White using Mossy Meadow. So I made sure to keep the ink on the Blending Brush light. This could be accomplished using sponges or sponge daubers if you prefer. Those are definitely older techniques.
Finishes
There are not a lot of extras really added to this card. The sentiment layer, with having the ribbon slots, had to have some ribbon. I chose the Pecan Pie Center Stripe Ribbon. It does not show very much, but it is noticeable. Of course there must be Bling! I added the Pecan PIe from the Pecan Pie & Clear Ribbon Dots. They are not very shiny, but fit my theme perfectly.

This is the second version of this “view” card I have made. You can see the other version HERE. It is such a great way to make a quick card, but to also show off gorgeous DSP paper and scenes.
Paper
As with the previous card using this layout, the paper is the star really. For this card I have pulled out the beautiful Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper. I loved this paper last Holiday catalog and was so thrilled that it was carrying over. Of course I had to grab another pack of it with the DSP Sale earlier. This card is great to make multiples of as it only takes a small piece of DSP. I cut the DSP to 3 X 2 3/4. And then cut it into 1″ strips. The hardest part is keeping the strips in the proper order when cutting for multiples. Ask me how I know that!!!
To compliment the DSP, I chose the gorgeous Misty Moonlight as the card base. I love the blue gray and how it really pulls the color from the DSP. For the scene layer I went with Shaded Spruce to stand out a little bit. Even though it is another darker color, it does stand out. And in my figuring out the sentiment part, I cut the background from Misty Moonlight, when it should also have been Shaded Spruce. Duh! I did correct it for my Club ladies.
Stamps
There are two stamp sets used on the front of the card. The first is the background stamp on Misty Moonlight. It is a texture look that is stamped tone on tone with Misty Moonlight Ink. That stamp is from the Lovely & Sweet stamp set. Small background stamps are great to have on hand for adding small touches like this.
The second stamp used is the Unbounded Love stamp set for the sentiment. It is a sentiment only stamp set. This is actually a Bundled set with Dies that fit all of the sentiments. The small sentiment is bold and with a jaunty font as well. It is a tad large for the Die, but it works. The Die cuts the outside ruffled edge as well as the inside in one cutting. So I layered the White and Blue and cut it one time. With the Basic White being a thinner paper it was not a problem at all. I have a little tip for adhering these together. Place the White inside the scalloped outer section. And place them face down on your table. Add Stampin’ Dimensionals in each corner so it overlaps the center and the outer section. Very easy and it holds well.
Finishes
To add bling to a darker card can be a little tricky. For the bling portion of the finish I added a single Iridescent Pearl. Then I had to use the new Natural Tones Linen Thread as the add on to the paper view. I chose the dark blue, probably a Night of Navy. This is a bit thicker than the regular Linen Thread but not so thick that it is difficult to work with.

I generally do not make a lot of Halloween cards. However, you know how much I love the animal stamps from Stampin’ Up!. So today I have a Ghost to share. It may not fall in the “animal” category, but I think you get my idea. Fun and whimsy makes for a happy card.
Stamps
This fun ghost is from the Playful Ghost stamp set in the last new drop of Online Exclusives. The set contains a ghost dracula, one popping out of a pumpkin, and this one on the broom. There are also some small additional images and simple sentiments.
The ghost on the broom is my favorite so I had to start with her. Her because that just seems right!! And I gave her some pink cheeks. The coloring is minimal and was done with Stampin’ Blends. To add a bit more to the front of the card, I added the simple BOO to the corner. This is a fairly clean and simple card for me.
Layout and Papers
This simple layout can be used with so many options with the stripes. It is one of the sketches in the Annual Catalog. They are at the bottom of page 22 in the Annual Catalog. This one is on the bottom row about in the center. And you can see others of these layouts spread out in the catalog. Additionally SU added sketches to the Mini Catalog. They are on page 16 of that catalog. Sketches are such a great way to give you a starting point. At least it works for me.
The papers for my flying ghost are very simple. I went for a softer color pallet than bright like I normally do. Peach Pie is my card base with a layer of Basic White. The fabulous glimmer strips are from the Annual Catalog and are the 2024-2026 Glimmer Paper. I cut each strip 1/2″ X 3 1/4″ Peach Pie also layers the ghost. And for the added sentiment I stamped on a little piece of Peach Pie. The card just needed a little something extra and the small BOO was the answer.
Finishes
The glimmer paper added a good bit of my normal Bling to the card. And the addition of the stand out BOO, could have been enough. But you know me. I added a single Faux Glass Dot to the bottom right of the ghost layer. These are new in the Mini Catalog and are somewhat muted like old glass. I chose the light green as I had added a touch of green into the ghost’s hat. It doesn’t stand out a lot but does show more in person.
Thank you for stopping in today!! I hope you have a relaxing weekend.

I have another fairly tone on tone card to share with you. Yesterday’s card was a masculine one using Mossy Meadow. Today I have a fun generic one that stars Misty Moonlight.
Stamp set
This stamp set is one of the Fun ones in the Mini Catalog. I tend to gravitate towards whimsy and animals. So of course this one had to come to my house. It truly is a generic stamp set that is fun. I opted for the Hugs and Kisses but there is a Birthday that fits as well. And I love that it fits the 2 3/8 Circle Punch. Punches are a favorite of mine and I love when sets fit punches and Dies that we already have.
The tone on tone made color choices easy here. I stamped everything using Misty Moonlight Ink. I punched the circle first to get placement. Then I layed the top words, which are one stamp, and the bottom words, which are another stamp, on the circle. I could pick it up with the clear block and have my spacing perfect. Easy peasy!! The pup is stamped on scrap and fussy cut to pop up in the center.
Papers and Colors
The card base is Misty Moonlight, as was the ink used. And the DSP is from the Country Lace Designer Series Paper. Actually this Misty Moonlight sheet is the opposite side of what I stamped the trees on for yesterday’s card. This paper is very versatile!!
To keep this in the tone on tone, more or less…..I only added a thin white layer behind the DSP. But I did not want only the white focal layer. A quick and simple fix was to punch the same circle from Misty Moonlight card stock. It gives a sort of shadow look. The layers are 3 3/4 X 5 for the white and 3 5/8 X 4 7/8 of the DSP.
Finishes
To complete this card did not require very much. I looked at a variety of embellishments to even include ribbon. But nothing seemed just right. So I added a trio of the New Regal Foiled Adhesive Back Dots from the Mini Catalog. And I couldn’t be happier. The bit of gold fleck in the blue really shows off.
Thanks for stopping by today!!
