Joy Fold card

Today’s project is called it a Joy Fold Card.  it is definitely a joy to make .  The Wildly Flowering DSP is the star of the card of course.

Stampin' Up!, Wildly Flowering, wildflower designs, woderful thoughts, modern oval punch, jackie beers

 Papers

This fun card is one I cased from a dear friend The Paper Pixie.  You get to see both sides of the paper with this Joy Fold and I love that.  This large main piece of paper is from the Wildly Flowering Designer Series Paper.  The smaller focal layer piece is also from the same pack of papers.  I paired these gorgeous papers with Crumb Cake card stock for the card base, with a layer of Basic White underneath each DSP layer.  A white layer against the Crumb Cake has always been a favorite of mine and with the white in the main DSP pattern it really pops.

Here is an open  view of the card.

With the card open you can really allow the DSP to shine.  And this view shows the simplicity of the card as well.

Stamps and Ink

The focal layer stamped images are from two separate sets.  The flower is from the Wildflower Designs stamp set.  On the front I stamped using Pecan Pie Ink and then colored the flower with the Light Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Blend.  On the inside of the small card I stamped the smaller, but similar, image using Crumb Cake Ink that is stamped off first.

The sentiment is from the Wonderful Thoughts stamp set.  This set is full of great sentiments.  I wanted something simple and that would allow for this card to work for almost any occasion.  The small “hello” works perfectly.  I stamped it using Misty Moonlight Ink.  The focal layer is fairly simple as well.  I used the Modern Oval Punch to cut the piece and then added Stampin’ Dimensionals to give it some Pop.

Finishes

To tie in more of the Crumb Cake, soft brown shade, I used the new Basic Beige Ribbon beneath the focal layer.  By adding a couple of short strips of adhesives, I was able to zig zag the ribbon easily for a bit of a different look.  Of course there must be bling as well.  So lastly out came the Pecan Pie & Clear Ribbon Dots.  Just a scattering of them around the focal layer was plenty.

Measurements

This card looks more intricate than it actually is.  There are just a couple of layers to place.  And I did not mention earlier that it is only a quarter sheet of card stock for the card base.  So very easy to make multiples of.

  • The card base is Crumb Cake that is 4 1/4 X 5 1/2
  • The White layer is 4 X 5 1/4
  • The DSP is 6 X 5, score at 2 1/4 on the 6″ length with the pattern for the flap being up.
  • The small Crumb Cake card is 4 X 5 1/2 scored and folded at 2 3/4
  • There are 2 of the White layers on the small card, inside and front layer, each is 2 1/2 X 3 3/4
  • The small card DSP is 2 1/4 X 3 1/2
  • The focal layer was a scrap that was roughly 2 1/4 X 3

Faith

The card for today is a quick and easy one that would work for most occasions by changing the sentiment.  Sadly I needed a sympathy card.  This fun paper and Bundle are great for quick cards.

Stampin' Up!, Labeled with love, unbounded love, unbounded beauty, shimmer gems, petunia pop, jackie beers

Stamp Bundle

The Labeled With Love Bundle is a unique one in the Annual Catalog.  It is one of two bundles that you have a choice of either a Punch or Dies to complete the bundle.  Of course you could purchase the bundle and then add the other as an extra.  I love Punches so that is the one I chose.

For this card I used the stamped outline for the punched image.  And I added the little grouping of flowers.  The flowers actually have a matching stem so you can stamp them in their proper colors.  But I only wanted the flowers.  Although the added stems would have been good as well.

The butterfly is part of the stamp set also.  And there is a filler stamp to match it.  I decided I liked the idea of stamping on the same DSP as the background.  It looked better than I thought it would actually!  That is always a nice surprise.  It gives a softer look.  I also stamped a second butterfly on the DSP and added it to the inside of the card.  There are no dies for the butterfly, but they are quick and easy to fussy cut.

Sentiment

This sweet sentiment is from the Unbounded Love stamp set.  That set is all sentiments and has ones for almost any occasion.  I used a matching sentiment on the inside.  And of course I love the font and strong script used.  It really adds to the message.

Papers

The gorgeous DSP is the Unbounded Beauty Designer Series Paper.  I suppose this would be considered one of the reverse sides.  Whatever it is called, I love the mixed colors.  To partner with these colors I went a bit off course.  Instead of the exact colors, which are the new In Colors, I went a shade darker.  The card base is Berry Burst with Coastal Cabana as the layer.  And it is the tag color s well.   NOTE: This DSP is part of the DSP sale during August!!

Finishes

To ground the sentiment, I added a strip of Petunia Pop ribbon.  That is one of the colors from the DSP.  The sentiment is then added with some Dimensionals, as is the butterfly.  For the touch of bling, I used the 2024-2026 In Color Shimmer Gems.  I mixed the colors with the soft green and the soft berry color.  All of the same color or a mix is fine with me!

Time For Cake

I have been making rather quick cards lately.  And today’s is another fairly quick one.  It is also my first play with the Cake Fancy stamp set.

Stampin' Up!, cake fancy, dotted circles, gorgeous grape, soft sea foam, jackie beers

Stamp Set

All of the stamped images are from the Cake Fancy stamp set.  I had fun with this card and mixed colors along with making a cake that I have been craving.  Instead of an actual cake, I have been wanting a big, rich, Key Lime Pie.  So I made one for myself.  And this one contains no Fat or Calories!!

The images are all the distinctive type so they show light and dark texture.  My choice of Soft Sea Foam was really light in places for the Key Lime part of the pie.  And the dollop of whipped cream on top came out a big darker than I would want.  But I will take creative license and go with it.

The sentiment was a bit more challenging than anything.  It is one stamp and did not really fit anywhere.  That meant getting a little creative and cutting it into pieces.  Three small pieces will fit just about anywhere.  And I made it work.

Background

The dotted background is from the Dotted Circles Embossing Folder.  I am so in love with this folder.  The dots are not only fun but they really pop.  And even though I have covered a lot of the background with my images, they still pop and make themselves seen.  If you do not have this folder, I hope it is on your wish list.

Papers and Colors

There is no DSP on this card.  That is a rare occasion for me.  However all of the other elements made it really unnecessary.  I chose the Soft Sea Foam for the Key Lime of my pie.  Then held that paper along the rest of my papers to see what brighter color went well with it.  I settled on Highland Heather for the Dotted Layer on top of Thick Basic White for the card base.

The Soft Sea Foam banner is stamped with Soft Sea Foam Ink for a softer background.  And the Cake stand is Gorgeous Grape to pop a bit more than the background layer.  Then I decided to go with Gorgeous Grape for the layer of the Pie since it was over the Highland Heather.  I did not want them to meld together.

Finishes

There was not much left to add to the card after all of the layers and texture.  But I really needed a touch of bling.  I opted for two of the larger Iridescent Pearls on the banner.  The banner itself is a bit of an extra, like ribbon would be to ground the focal layer.  So I still have two Extras!

Thoughtful Scenery

The card I have for you today is a quick and easy gift card holder.  It stars the gorgeous Thoughtful Journey DSP.  The scenes created on the paper are ones I wish I could see in real life.  They are amazing.

Stampin' Up!, Thoughtful Journey, unbounded Love, birds and dragonfly, circle punch, jackie beers

Papers

The Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper is a 6 X 6 pack filled with gorgeous scenes like the one above.  The opposite sides are beautiful watercolor mixes.  I paired this scene with Berry Burst for a bright background.  Surprisingly I did not add a layer between the card base and the DSP.  The paper stands out enough without the extra layer.

Stamps

This fun sentiment is from the Unbounded Love Stamp Set.  That set is all sentiments with some fabulous Die shapes to use with them.   I opted to keep this card simple and used a punch instead.  But I do love the elegant script along with the boldness of it.  That helps the simple sentiment really pop!

Extras

The finishes for this card are all easy ones as well.  I used the 1 3/4 Circle Punch for the sentiment.  And to add some texture I used the 3 pack Bakers Twine in the soft blue.  By adding some adhesive to the back of the circle, I could loosely wrap the twine to create a very loose looking bow.  Then the circle is added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  And the final touch is a single dragonfly on the sentiment layer.  The Adhesive Backed Birds & Dragonflies are great little added pieces.  This scene seemed to fit the dragonfly.

Measurements

The “gift card” holder is made with one simple cut.  Here is a view of the open card for you to see.

To create this little pocked I began with the basic 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 piece of Berry Burst card stock.  It is scored at 4 1/4.  Place the front flap of the card on your paper trimmer with the 5 1/2 length at the top.  ***For short measurements I use the 1 1/2 measurements that are to the right of the cutting line!!  Or you can slide the top of the card over to 4 1/4.  Either way, you are making a cut at 1 1/4 from the bottom of the front flap edge over to the score line.

Once the cut is made, fold and burnish the score lines making sure to keep that small section aligned.  The DSP is cut 4 X 4 for the top section and 4 X 1 for the bottom section.  I cut a 4 X 5 piece and then cut the 1″ off the bottom.  For a scene paper like this one, it allows your scene to look continuous.

Next add adhesive to the very bottom of the cut piece and just the far edge.  Do not adhere the top part.  This allows for the pocket for the gift card.  Tip:  I always lay a gift card under the card stock when adhering a pocket to ensure it is not too tight of a fit.

Feel Better

The Designer Paper Sale begins today!!

All details are further down in the post.

My card today is a Get Well card for a sweet friend.  They are close to sympathy cards in my book.  I am not sure why I have such a hard time designing one.  But this one came together very easily.  The Thoughtful Wishes Bundle is the star.

Stampin' Up!, thoughtful wishes, bright & beautiful, deckled circles, peacock and gold ribbon, labeled with love punch, jackie beers

Stamp Bundle

This is actually my first time playing with the Thoughtful Wishes Bundle.   I originally loved it because of the Thistle and the open weave leaves.  The Dies in this set are fabulous in cutting a stamped piece, or individual pieces.  And I love the sentiments of the set.  The mix of fonts is always a favorite of mine.

Papers

The color choices were totally from the flower colors.  So Pretty Peacock as the card base with Berry Burst as the thin layer and the sentiment layer.  The flower is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then colored with Stampin’ Blends.  However the leaves are another story.  I used a piece from the Bright & Beautiful 6 X 6 paper pack.  It was a variegated greens that I used to show in place of light and dark coloring of leaves.  The paper did it for me!

Extra Products

The Circle that holds all of the details is from the Deckled Circles Dies.  I used the 7th from smallest.  There are really a lot of these dies!  And for the sentiment, I used the Labeled With Love Punch.  This punch set is one of the fabulous ideas that Stampin’ Up! has in the Annual Catalog.  There are two Bundles that you can choose to get stamps and Dies or stamps and a punch.  I love punches, so that was my choice.

To ground the sentiment, I went with the Pretty Peacock and Gold Ribbon.  Just a strip of it was plenty for the sentiment to sit on.  And the touch of bling comes from the Pecan Pie & Clear Ribbon Adhesive Backed Dots.  These clear dots have what looks like the same type ribbon as the Pretty Peacock, just silver, underneath the clear dot.  They really are nice.

Sweet Pea Birthday

Before I share my project of the day, I want to remind you of the Designer Paper Sale that begins tomorrow.  All of the included papers are listed below the sale information further down in my post.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

For today’s card I have a fun card using the Sweet Pea Stamp Set.  At first glance this set seems very simple.  But if you looked at the sentiments and the expressions on the little peas, they are great for a variety of occasions.

Stampin' Up!, Sweet Pea, to market, peach pie ribbon, nested essentials, dappled dots, jackie beers

Stamps

This card is made with stamps from the one set.  The Sweet Pea set is unusual and great.  An odd combination for sure!  I used the three peas in a pod to wish the “Hapea” birthday.  There is also a Grumpea that I think is hilarious!  The single pea with the Party Blower is a single stamp that I fussy cut to add a little more cheer.  He has a partner in the three peas in the pod also.  All of the images and sentiment are stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then colored using Stampin’ Blends.

Dies

To come up with the layout for this card was the most difficult part of it.  When I found the Nested Essentials Dies, I knew they were the best idea.  And I love that there are different shapes that layer.  I went with the banners and the rounded rectangles.  The middle two of each shape I believe are the ones I used.

Papers

This card is fairly monochromatic in the greens.  But then I added the Peach Pie as an accent.  The card base and shape layers are Soft Sea Foam.  And the green DSP is from the To Market Designer Series Paper.  This is the back side of the one with tomatoes.  I just thought it fit my green colors perfectly.

Finishes

To complete this card I added two separate products.  First is the Peach Pie Bordered Ribbon.   This was used when I decided on adding the Peach Pie and Wild Wheat as the party hat colors.  I needed to tie those colors in.  The ribbon is wrapped around the DSP layer and secured.

The bling is a scattering of the Dappled Dots Adhesive Backed elements.  There are three colors included in the package.  They are peach, pink, and a tan.  I chose to use the peach color again.

Designer Series Paper Sale begins on August 6 – 31st.

Happiest Day

I have another of the possible Overlooked stamp sets.  This one is the Happiest Day set.  It makes me smile and I hope it will you as well.

Stampin' Up!, Bright & Beautiful, Dotted Circles, Nested Essentials,Bubble Bath, Petunia Pop, jackie beers

Stamps

This is a one stamp set card.  You know how I love these for a quick card.  These dragonflies are so fun.  You can stamp them and color the wings, stamp a design from the set for the wings, or do as I did and stamp on DSP.  I stamped on the DSP and then also stamped on White.  There are no matching dies for this set.  But fussy cutting the dragonflies is not a time consuming or hard thing.  After cutting out the wings, I glued them to the image that was stamped on Basic White card stock.  Easy peasy!!

The sentiment is from the set as well.  I will say I do love the sentiment.  And at the same time I am not a fan of glitter that flies around.  When I get it on me, it wants to stay forever.  Or on my desk forever as well.  This glitter in the sentiment is a good glitter!  LOL!!

Other Products

To finish the sentiment layer, I used the Nested Essentials Dies.  The 3rd Largest is the one I used to die cut the sweet sentiment.  Having just the small touch of the dots around the edge was perfect.  And to complete the sentiment I added some Wink of Stella touches around the sentiment.  In person you can see the “glitter” a bit better.

The gorgeous background is the Dotted Circles 3D Embossing Folder.  This is one that I originally was not sure I needed.  I could not picture how I would use it with the type cards I make.  Well…..I was so wrong!  This is a beautiful and stand out type embossing folder that is a great one for your collection.  It really does pop the card.  And if you can believe it, I did not add any further bling!  I know that is a shocker.  But the embossed with the dragonflies seemed good to go.  And the bit of shine from Wink of Stella was enough.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Country Season

Today is the final day of Bonus Days!  This is the last day to earn Bonus Coupons to spend beginning tomorrow, August 1.  I really am having a hard time realizing it is August already.  Where is time going!

For today’s card I have a wonderful pairing of beautiful paper and Dies.  The stamp set is one you may have overlooked, but I have fallen in love with it.  After this, I hope you will as well.

Stampin' Up!, Country Woods, you are beautiful, greetings of the season dies, jackie beers

Papers

The products used on this card are all wonderful.  And this made choosing the star a difficult job.  However the paper truly does stand out as I have used quite a lot of it.  This is the Country Woods Designer Series Paper.  All of the patterns are various wood photos.  This piece of different faded painted planks is my favorite.  But I also used the tag as a way of using a second piece of this fabulous paper.

To give the tag more depth and to help pop it from the painted planks, I added a second tag of Smoky Slate.  Of course this is the card base as well.  The Smoky Slate plays well with all of the colors of painted planks.  And especially the Misty Moonlight ink.

Stamps

The hidden stamp set I mentioned is what contains both this fun image as well as the sweet sentiment.  It is the You Are Beautiful set.  The set is on page 93 of the Annual Catalog.  The image has the faded look.  And the sweet sentiment is written in a fabulous font.  I love the majority of Stampin’ Up!’s fonts they use.

Dies

The maybe Star of this card is the tag (s).  This great tag is from the Greetings of the Season Dies.  They are an Online Exclusive with a wonderful stamp set of sentiments.  I only used the tag though.  It is a great size for the card.  The little stitching around the edges adds the perfect amount of extra to it.

Finishes

To complete the double tags, I added a bow from Linen Thread.  I love this as a country or masculine finish for a card.  Plus it is so simple to work with.  I doubled the thread to make a bit more substantial bow.  And my bling is also one of the new Online Exclusives.  These are Pecan Pie and Clear Ribbon Adhesive Dots.  The ones used are the Pecan Pie.  And they do look as if there is ribbon underneath.

Shopping Cart

The fabulous Attention Shoppers Bundle has been so much fun to play with.  For today’s card I have one I made for a dear friend’s birthday.  There are a lot of elements but the Bundle makes it so very easy.

Stampin' Up!, Attention Shoppers, Unbounded Beauty, So Sincere, Shimmer Dots, Bakers Twine, Silver Foil, jackie beers

Bundle

The Attention Shoppers Bundle has amazing items in both the Stamp set and the matching Die set.  And I used quite a lot of them on this card.  The three items you see inside the shopping card were all cut with matching Dies.  As was the Shopping Cart!  I cut the card from Silver Foil.   All of the items were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then colored using Stampin’ Blends.

The sentiment is from the stamp set as well.  I really had a time trying to find the proper placement for it.  Finally I thought of it sticking out of the gift bag.  So I used the craft knife on the Take Your Pick Tool Crafters Tips group.  With a slit cut across the center of the “tissue paper” I could slide the end of the sentiment inside.

Additional Dies

The base of the shopping cart scene is the largest of the Spotlight On Nature Dies.  These are a favorite of mine, and everyone else’s apparently.  They are out of stock again.  But will be back mid to end of August.  That is just in time for you to use your Bonus Days Coupons on them!  They are definitely worth it.

Papers

The mix of papers may not exactly go together as all colors being in the DSP.  However I wanted a somewhat bright card.  So the layer of DSP is from the Unbounded Beauty Designer Series paper.  And just to add some of that bright color, I used Lemon Lolly as the card base.  It is tied in further by the yellow Bakers Twiner around the cart.  It makes the entire shopping cart the gift!

Finishes

To complete the bling on the card, I had to have more that simply the Silver Foil.  So I went with some of the In Color Shimmer Dots.  I used five of them scattered around the circle.  These are the lighter green of Summer Splash.  And they pair great with the DSP.

SUPPLIES:

Racing Birthday

I am channeling my favorite racing series today.  I love Formula 1 Racing and when I saw the Racing By stamp set, I knew it was for me.  And I have a sweet little friend that just turned 4 who loves race cards as well.

Stampin' Up!, racing by, merriest trees, happy labels punch, blueberry bushel, poppy parade, crushed curry, jackie beers

Stamp Sets

The Racing By stamp set includes the cards, driver,  flag, and sentiment.  I love being able to make a card from one stamp set.  The only extra are the stars.  I felt it needed a touch more for the victory.  These come from the Merriest Trees stamp set.

The cards are Blueberry Bushel and Poppy Parade.  With the drivers in Crushed Curry.  To make the flag pole, I used a ruler and the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker to simply draw the line.  I went over it twice to give a bit more darkness.

Papers and Punch

There are no DSP on this card.  I know that is amazing to those who follow me regularly!  Sometimes it just happens.  LOL!!!  The card base is Blueberry Bushel with a layer of Poppy Parade.  The sentiment is stamped on Crushed Curry card stock and then punched using the Happy Labels Punch.
