The idea for today’s post is somewhat humorous. I live in Georgia and we do not get a lot of Winter. The temperature goes up and down with some fairly cold mixed in. But most of the time our winters are pleasant. Today’s card if for the Make My Monday Challenge and the theme is Winter. Well…..by the time this post is live on Monday, assuming forecasts are correct, we will have had a Snowy, Icy, day. So no more Winter Themes for me!!! LOL!!
The Make My Monday Challenge can be reached by clicking on the picture. You can see the Winter cards made by the other Design Team Members and add your own card if you wish.
The Paper
I wish I could say that I created that beautiful scene. But sadly, I did not. It is from the new and awesome New Horizons Designer Series Paper in the Mini Catalog. In my mind, and in thinking of Winter, I see this scene as a frozen pond or a snowy field. By using different stamps it could be a totally different scene / time of year. All of these papers are this fabulous!!
The Stamps and Dies
The On The Horizon Bundle is a match to the great paper. These stamps are designed to be stamped onto the paper for scenery as I have made. I did use the birds and the wood piece for the sentiment from the stamp set. There is a matching die for the wood piece. To help my scene look a bit more like winter, I added the trees on the bottom right. They are from my favorite Christmas set in the Annual Catalog, Perfectly Plaid.
Sale-A-Bration is the Best Time of Year!!

January snowflakes with a supple shimmer. Sparkle and bling create beautiful snowflakes that are neither cold or wet!
Today’s project is a mix of Old, New and Retiring products. This project is for the Make My Monday Challenge where I am on the Design Team. This challenge is simply Snowflakes!
I mentioned above that this is the Make My Monday Challenge. You are welcome to play along. And you can visit the website by clicking on the icon below.
Retiring Products
As I said, I have a mix of going away, coming in, and current products in this card. The Retiring Products are the Snowflakes and sentiment. They are from the Merry Snowflakes Bundle. It is all in the details as they say. And these snowflakes have detail galore! Also they cut beautifully even with the glitter paper!
The Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder is from the Mini Catalog which expires at the end of today also. It is going to carryover however. That is awesome because it gives great detail to a card. And since I have Zero Musical ability, it is a way for me to add some.LOL!!
New Products
The gorgeous Supple Shimmer Specialty Paper is coming in the January-June Mini Catalog which debuts tomorrow. (If you have seen the paper in a catalog, the shimmery white/pool party color is shown as a blue in the catalog photos. This is the real color of it.) I love that there are two different colors of the shimmer paper. And as you can see, it cut wonderfully using the snowflakes dies. That is a definite Win!
Current Products
I used Blushing Bride as the card base to match the pink of the Shimmer paper. It is paired with Pool Party, which pulls the blue of the second shimmer paper. To also go along the pink theme, I used Polished Pink ink to stamp the sentiment.
The sentiment is die cut using the Rectangle Stitched Dies. These are a staple to my die collection as they fit most any stamp with one die or the other. There are quite a few in the set. And for the last touch of bling, I added a variety of sizes of Rhinestones. You just cannot have too much bling with snowflakes. They are a jewel all by themselves.
Before I go, I want to say I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday! I had an unexpected physical issue and have been missing in action since mid December. No Christmas cards went out, no posts, etc. I haven’t even delivered some gifts! But all is well, or getting there.
That said, I wanted to offer you one more chance at my Product Shares. I will place the order tomorrow….So today is the last chance. If you reach out and can pay with Paypal, or are local, I can get you added to the list. Click on my SHOP at the menu bar and then Product Shares. There is a form to complete which will notify me.

Thank You cards are always needed, but especially around the Christmas Holiday. I made a packet of two different designs to share with you today.
Peaceful Cabin to begin
I love the simple stamping that the Peaceful Cabin stamp set calls for. There are dies which can make gorgeous cards by die cutting the images and layering. To me they are wonderful without the layering. I stamped the trees by stamping with Just Jade Ink and then stamping again without re-inking. The adorable fox just fit with the gray color scheme.
Peaceful Place Designer Paper
A friend who is also a demonstrator posted a card very similar to this one yesterday. Her version was beautiful and had more details. Since mine is a Thank You card, I kept it fairly simply as I was making several of each of these.
The star of this card is the DSP. The trees here are a piece of the DSP, as is the background strip. The Peaceful Place DSP is so versatile and gorgeous. The idea for these cards came to be due to having strips the size of the ones on both cards. I cannot bear to waste beautiful DSP.
Check back later today for the Last Chance Lists from the Mini Catalog.

Today’s project is a peaceful, snowy evening at home type card. The best part is that it is really quick and easy to create.
Paper
The star of this card is the beautiful Peaceful Place Designer Series Paper. There is no stamping on the front of the card. I could see no reason to hide any of that gorgeous scenery in the DSP. You cannot see it very well, but there are some silver star/snowflakes in the paper. That is why I added the Silver Simply Elegant Trim .
This is a Gate Fold card with the scenery added to just the left side. Again, it is difficult to see, but the white side pieces are embossed using the Merry Melody Embossing Folder. I pulled Smoky Slate, with a layer of Basic Black under the embossed White for the card colors.
Stamps
The Peaceful Place Designer Series Paper pairs perfectly with the Peaceful Cabin Stamp Set. There are matching dies in the Peaceful Bundle, but they were not needed on this card. As I mentioned above, I did not do any stamping on the front of the card. But you can see where I added the trees to the envelope. I try not to send naked envelopes!! The inside of the card is stamped with those trees plus a sentiment from the stamp set.
Measurements
The base card of smoky slate is cut 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 and scored at 2 1/8 from each end of the 8 1/2.
The basic black layers are cut 2 @ 2 X 5 3/8
The basic black behind the DSP is cut to 2 5/8 X 4 5/8
The DSP is cut to 2 1/2 X 4 1/2
The embossed White is cut 4 X 5 1/4 for ease, embossed and then trimmed to 2 pieces cut 1 7/8 X 5 1/4

I have a very quick and easy card to share today that is really beautiful!! And it is not due to me or my stamping. It is 100% the beautiful Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Place Designer Series Paper.
It’s All About The Paper!
This beautiful piece from the Peaceful Place Designer Series Paper IS this card. This sheet is designed to be cut into four 6X6 pieces of this pattern. I really hated to trim it down. What I cut off can be used as a strip to carryover to the inside of the card though. I am not about to waste this beauty.
All of the texture, shading, and glimmer is built into the paper. All I did was add the simple sentiment at the bottom. The sentiment is from the Stars Are Shining Stamp set. And it is perfect for this calm scene. Other than the sentiment, the card is layered on Basic Gray with the base of the card being Thick Basic White cardstock. It could not get any easier than this one!
Please forgive my odd placement for the card in the photograph. I did not want to hide the sentiment!

The card I have to share with you today is one that showcases a few of the reasons that I LOVE Stampin’ Up!! As soon as you see today’s card you will recognize at least one of those reasons. It is hard to miss it.
Paper
The first of my many reasons to love Stampin’ Up! is the gorgeous Designer Series Paper. This card showcases two sides of one sheet included in the Whimsy & Wonder 12×12 Designer Series paper. I wanted to share those gorgeous snowflakes on the Blushing Bride paper. But then the opposite side shows all of the colors in the paper pack on one sheet. I truly love those stripes. (The DSP piece is cut to 3 3/4 X 5 and then cut 1″ off of the 3 3/4 side. Flip the 1″ strip over for the stripes to show.)
I pulled the Misty Moonlight from the stripes to use as the base of the card. It really showcases the pink. There is a thin layer of Basic White between the Misty Moonlight and the DSP. I just have a hard time putting the DSP directly onto the base cardstock. LOL!!
Stamps
To continue with the paper being the star of the show, I went with a very small sentiment. The “let your heart be light” is so sweet. I tried different positions and sizes of paper for it and nothing seemed correct. Then I placed it at an angle and it seemed to be the proper location. This allows the other products to shine. This adorable sentiment is from the Whimsical Trees stamp set.
Finishing Touches
As a finishing touch, I added the Wonderful Snowflake to the center of the card. With these gorgeous papers on the card, it really does not require much stamping. And I hate to cover up the paper. The snowflake piece has some iridescent color on the snowflakes. At first I thought it was silver it shows so well. You get 24 iridescent snowflakes in a package. The opposite side is white paper. So they could be sponged or colored any color you wish on that side.
All of these products, plus the matching Christmas Trees Dies (A Bundle with the Whimsical Trees) and the Blushing Bride Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon, are the complete Suite of products in the Whimsey & Wonder Suite! I do not always purchase the complete Suite of products. But this one is an exception to that. I love everyone of the products included in the Suite.
The price for the entire suite is $80.25. With a couple of added cardstock or supply items you could have a $100.00 order. This amount would earn you FREE SAB Items, either 2 at the $50.00 level or 1 at the $100.00 level. PLUS you would earn 2 of my Star Shopping Rewards for my customers.
