Floral Sympathy

I am casing a card in the annual catalog today.  Of course as I began typing this, I could not find the card again!    The CASE is of the layering of the cardstock on the front of the card.

I loved the two different DSP pieces on the front of the card (that I cannot remember now!).  So I used two complimentary pieces from Artistry Blooms Designer Series Paper.  The left side piece is only 1 1/2″ wide.

The flowers are from the Floral Essence stamp set.  I truly cannot remember the last time I used this set.  It pairs with a three petal flower punch named Perennial Flower that is a flower builder.  I went with the full flower and fussy cutting!  The leaves are stamped and then colored with Stampin’ Blends.

I actually made two of these cards.  The second card is more of the left DSP and less of the right one.  So an opposite color layout.  I needed a birthday card so that one went out right away with a birthday sentiment and of course, I forgot to photograph it!!  This one I had the sympathy in mind to begin with.

The sweet sentiment is from the Path Of Petals stamp set.  It is die cut using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.  I love that the same card works for both a celebration and sympathy.

Pet Love for CTS381

This card is for a friend who had to say goodbye to one of the sweetest and smartest dogs ever.  To me these are as hard to make as a sympathy card for a person.  I really love animals.  But I was happy with how this one worked out.  The sketch from Case This Sketch was in my mind, and it just came together.

In coming up with this card, I was looking at the gorgeous Playful Pets Designer Series Paper, and again the sketch was in my brain.  I knew the two would mesh perfectly.  Here is the sketch:

After cutting all of the DSP, I began looking for the perfect sentiment.  Surprisingly, I found it in the Rustic Retreat stamp set.  This is a winter time set, but the words were perfect.  This sweet dog was the perfect mannered one, and always walked right by my friend’s side.

The final touch was the little dog bone accessory from Playful Pets Trinkets.  It is paired with the Playful Pets Trim combo.  I used almost everything from this suite of products except the dies!

The measurements for today’s card are:

  • base card is 4 1/4 X 11
  • 4 1/8 X 5 3/8
  • 5 1/8 X 3 7/8
  • 4 1/8 X 2 /34
  • 4 1/8 X 3/8
  • 4 1/8 X 1/8

Rainbow Tales

Today I am sharing the card I made for a friend who lost her doggy best friend a few weeks ago. Our pets are family to a lot of us and it is so hard to say goodbye.

I love the HappyTails stamp set for so many reasons.  This sentiment is one of the main reasons!  It is so true.  All of the stamps I used are from this one stamp set.  I love when I can make cards from just one set.

I paired the Woven Threads Designer Series Paper with my favorite Stampin’ Up! color, Seaside Spray.  I added Rococo Rose as the complimentary color for more of a pink than the Purple Posy would have given.  Although I love that color and used those colors in a card last week.  You can click on the GALLERY button at the top of my page to see all of the projects I have blogged.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you have the opportunity to get some crafting of any kind in while you are in the Stay At Home mode.

Hugs and Love

In planning today’s card, I was thinking of using DSP that will be retiring quicker than we think with the end of the Annual Catalog or Mini Catalog.  With that in mind, I was looking for a sentiment or focal image that would work alone.   I have only used this lovely sentiment one other time.  Now is a perfect time for these lovely words.

Stampin' Up!, Positive Thoughts, Nature's Thoughts, Perennial Essence, Jackie Beers

The sentiment is a favorite that I do not believe I will be getting rid of when it retires.  It is perfect for a variety of occasions.  It and other equally wonderful stamps are in the Positive Thoughts stamp set in the Mini Catalog.

The DSP is the Perennial Essence and was chosen because I wanted to use my favorite Stampin’ Up! Color. It is the Seaside Spray.  I went a bit crazy with it when it first debuted and have made myself use other colors for a while.

I paired the Seaside Spray with my second favorite color which is the Purple Posy.  I , like everyone else, was so bummed when the ink color could not be formulated to SU specifications.  That did not deter me though.  I use it regularly with the card stock as well as the marker and Stampin’ Blends.

The Old Olive was chosen as a compliment to the Seaside Spray and Purple Posy.  I love the layers all working together.  As a grounding for the butterfly and sentiment, I used the delicate looking edging cut in the Seaside Spray.  I ended up covering more of it than I had intended.

The butterfly and the edging is from the Nature’s Thoughts Dies.  They were in the release of dies released just after the beginning of the year that coordinated with stamps from the Mini Catalog or the Annual Catalog.

I appreciate you stopping by today.  Please come back tomorrow for the Pals April Blog Hop.  There will be quite a few great projects for you to hop through.

Sending Hugs

I hope you enjoyed the Pals Blog Hop yesterday.  There were some great cards on there.  I have a Poppy card to share for today.  I am sending hugs to anyone in need of a big hug!  I personally love hugs.

Stampin' Up!, Poppy Moments, Painted Poppies, Ornate Frames, Perfectly Framed, Jackie Beers

On this card, I did the opposite of the previous card with the die cut poppies.   You can see that card HERE.  If truth be told, I made an oopsy!!!!  When I was cutting  I placed the wrong die on the DSP.  But I thought “why not see how it looks”.  That’s what I get for not paying attention at the cutting machine!  I am thrilled that it does work by giving just a hint of the DSP.

I stamped the tall poppy with the attached bud a couple of times and colored them with Stampin’ Blends.  I then placed the two large die cut poppies over them and raised with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I like the look it gives.

The sentiment is from the Perfectly Framed stamp set.  It coordinates with the Ornate Frames Dies from the Holiday Catalog.  They carried over and were from a Halloween set.  They are gorgeous frames with layers and curly pieces.  I love when new things coordinate with old.  I feel like I get more for my money.

Speaking of more bang for your buck.  Have you checked out the new items that released last week?  They all coordinate with products from the Mini and Sale-A-Bration Catalogs.  The DSP is especially awesome as it coordinates with the various punches that are new in those catalogs.

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you will come back tomorrow.

We are half way through February.  That means we have 1 1/2 months left on Sale-A-Bration.  Please check out what I have pointed out with the SAB Join Promotion.  I wish I could get that amount of product for that price!  It really is the most wonderful shopping spree!  If you are at all curious, I would love to talk with you about the promotion and the benefits of being a demonstrator.

The Ultimate Bundle is the Stampin’ Up! Starter Kit.  During Sale-A-Bration you get the extra value for your $99.00.  If you have a wish list or are ready to place an order and it totals close to 99.00, please read this first.

There is NO OBLIGATIONS to do anything beyond ordering the kit. You pay $99.00 + tax and receive $125.00 of your choice of products + any stamp set from the annual or mini catalog (the most expensive one is the Well Said set with a $45.00 price) + the Mini Paper Cutter, a $26.50 value + the 6X6 DSP sampler pack (48 sheets of DSP) an $11.50 value + a Paper Pumpkin Kit with a value of $22.00 + FREE Shipping which is usually 10% of the order and would add another $23.00 value here.  This equals over $230.00 value + business supplies added in at no cost.  That is an awesome deal!!  And you never have to purchase another thing.  But while you are trying it out, and you have until the end of July before your trial period runs out, you are part of my Team!  As well as my upline’s team.  We have Facebook groups to share our projects and assist each other.  I would love to talk with you about this opportunity.

Christmas Rose

The Christmas Rose products will be available for customer orders beginning on November 1st.  As will the new Paper Trimmer.  I thought I would share a project with the Christmas Rose stamp set.  This is so pretty and would work for other than Christmas.  The stamp set has two cases.  There is the single stamp, which is what I used today, in Red Rubber.  The second case holds several stamps and they are in photopolymer.  They can be used to add color to the large stamp I have used.  I chose to color mine with Stampin’ Blends instead.

I stamped the large image using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored it using a variety of the Stampin’ Blends.  I colored the roses with Poppy Parade and used that card stock as the base and layer of the card.  The Designer Series Paper you see is from the Christmastime Is Here DSP.  I wanted a sort of subtle background for the rose.  This paper reminds me of old fashioned wallpaper.

MEASUREMENTS:

  • base is 5 1/2 X 8 1/2
  • White is 5 3/8 X 4 1/8
  • DSP is 5 1/4 X 4
  • Poppy Parade is 4 3/4 X 3 3/4
  • White is 4 5/8 X 3 5/8

Thank you for stopping by today!  Please return again tomorrow for another new project.
