Cat Eclipse Card

I am trying a new technique today.  I have seen some really awesome cards on Facebook and Pinterest using the Eclipse Technique.  So I tried a small version for my first time.

Stampin' Up! Cat Punch, Jackie Beers, stampinup cat punch, jackiebeers

Cat Punch, 144666

COLOR COMBINATION:

I realized after the fact that the Pool Party eyes on my cat were not really bright enough.  I should have used the Smoky Slate.  But I love the soft combination of these colors.

I punched the cat out before stamping and placed it back in the cutout space.  I then stamped everything.  Before layering, I punched another cat from a scrap of Smoky Slate card stock and glued it to the original one.  Then it is raised with dimensionals.   I finished the card with the small bow on the end of the cat’s tail.  Every kitty needs some decoration .

This is so easy to do .  At least my small version is!  I have seen some beautiful and elaborate cards and home decor made using this technique.

I could have done better on my Eclipse Technique but I like the small version and think it came out alright.  I hope you will give it a try.

MEASUREMENTS:

  • Card base is Smoky Slate cut to 8 X 4 and folded in half
  • Smokey Slate layer is cut to 3 3/4 X 3 3/4
  • Whisper White layer is cut to 3 1/2 X 3 1/2

Paws For Christmas

I am definitely an animal lover.  So when I see cute animals and Christmas together it is a must have.  That is what happened with the new Santa Paws stamp set.  Here is today’s card.

Stampin' Up! Santa Paws, stampinup santa paws, Jackie Beers, jackiebeers

Santa Paws, 144889

I just love the cats and dogs tree!  I did not color everything.  I thought it would be overkill plus it would have taken a really long time!  I did stick with the main colors of green and red, with just a few additions.

COLOR COMBINATION:

I consider this a traditional type card with the layers.  They are just not centered.  Sometimes little tweaks give you an entirely different look.  I hope you enjoyed this one.

I had previously done another card using this same stamp set.  You can see that card HERE.

Thank you for stopping by today.  The supplies I used are listed at the bottom of the page.  You can click on any item and it will direct you to my online store.

Merry Little Labels

Today I am showcasing one of the new Christmas Tag sets in the Holiday Catalog.  It’s only a couple of days until you can place your Holiday orders!!

Stampin' Up! Merry Little Labels, Merry Little Labels, Stampin' Up!, Jackie Beers

Merry Little Labels Bundle, 146030

This set is the Merry Little Labels stamp set and can be bundled with the new Everyday Label Punch.  By bundling the two you receive 10% off.  And you will want both of these products.

This is a very simple card with the Be Merry Designer Series Paper and Whisper White card stock.  The focal point is simply the tag and we are finished.

I colored the tag using my Stampin’ Write Markers.  I colored the trees in Old Olive without thinking that the Designer Series Paper is Garden Green.  But I think most shades of green go well together.

MEASUREMENTS:

  • The base is Whisper White Thick card stock cut 5 1/2 X 4 1/4 and folded in half
  • The green DSP is 5 1/4 X 4
  • The white layer is 4 3/4 X 3 1/2
  • The red DSP is 4 1/2 X 3 1/4

Thank you for stopping by today!  I appreciate your comments and love hearing from you.

A PawLaLa Christmas

My card today is another Sneak Peek of the upcoming Holiday Catalog  I am an animal lover and there are a couple of sets the are must haves in that regard.  Today I used PawLaLaLa.  The title should give you a hint. 🙂

Stampin' Up! Santa Paws, stampinup, Jackie Beers, Jackiebeers

Santa Paws, 144889

This 4 X 4 card is sweet, cute, and easy to do.  A winning combination.  I used traditional Christmas colors for the card and then just colored the “singers” with Watercolor Pencils and a Blender Pen.  It can’t get any simpler than this.  And with the 4 X 4, the measurements are so easy as well.  I am really becoming addicted to these square cards!

And that is it for today!  A quick card and a short post.  I do apologize ahead of time that I had technical difficulties (Really operator malfunction!) and I could not get the picture of the Santa Paws stamp set.  I will try to get it and add it later if I can.

Thank you for stopping by today.  If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.  The supplies I used are listed below.  You can click on any item and be taken directly to my Online store.

Have an Awesome day today!!!

Merry and Bright

I promise this is the last Christmas card for a little bit.  At least until I get my pre-order of the Holiday Catalog anyway !! This one is a 4 X 4 card.  I have really become attached to the smaller cards.  I used the new stamp set Watts of Occasions for this card.  The little lightbulbs are simply too cute to resist.

Watts of Occasions, 143867

I probably should have given the tree a little bling, but the Foil Frenzy Designer Series Paper is so bright that I was afraid it would not even show up!  This foil paper is so pretty and has a great Bling Factor!  Technically the foil paper is Lemon Lime Twist.  Shocking isn’t it?  But it really works with whatever green you put it with.

COLOR COMBINATION:

The background for the bulb is the new Starburst Punch.  It is a super addition to the Stampin’ Up! punch collection.  I stamped the lightbulb in Memento Tuxedo black and colored it with the Stampin’ Write Markers.  The sentiment is from the set as well.  It is stamped in Daffodil Delight and backed with Real Red.  Such a simple card!

MEASUREMENTS:

  • Always Artichoke = 8 X 4
  • Daffodil Delight = 3 3/4 X 3 3/4
  • DSP = 3 1/2 X 3 1/2

Christmas Spirit continues

I have carried the Christmas Spirit over into August.  This set was my favorite from last year’s Holiday Catalog and I am just thrilled that it carried over into the New Annual Catalog.  It is the Star of Light stamp set and Starlight Thinlits.  Here is my card.

Star Of Light , 142110

You will probably laugh, but this is an updated version of the card that I used as my Christmas cards last year.  I just exchanged last year’s Island Indigo for Dapper Denim.  But I did not have the beautiful DSP last year.  I believe the Color Theory Designer Series Paper almost outshines the star.  I am in love with this entire pack but especially the crackled sheets.

I stamped the star and starry tale in Dapper Denim .  The star and sentiment are on Shimmery White Card stock. The star is cut with the thinlits and popped up with a dimensional. I added a rhinestone to the center for some extra bling.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set and is stamped in Smoky Slate.  I stamped it in the center of a strip and then layer it over the corner of the DSP and trimmed it off.  I really like the look.

For the look of this card, it is actually very quick and easy to put together.  I hope you like it as much as I do and will give it a try.
