Today’s card is all about coloring. With the beautiful Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper that is an easy and fun thing to do.
This card is one I created for the Make My Monday Challenge. The challenge is Coloring. Any method is acceptable for the challenge. Going with my favorite, I used the Stampin’ Blends of course. You can join the challenger by clicking on the icon and adding your version of a card with coloring.
Papers
There are two different Designer Series Paper pack pieces used on this card. The first is the Abigail Rose. That pack is mostly florals and a few unique pieces. Since I needed to color, I chose one of the flower patterns. There was a 6X6 piece of this piece left from my Product Share. Coloring the entire 6X6 piece made perfect sense. Sadly I forgot to photograph the piece before fussy cutting this bouquet. This bouquet of flowers is spaced all over the sheet. Using Stampin’ Blends was a no brainer for me as they are my favorite means of coloring.
And the second layer of DSP is from the Awash In Beauty Designer Series Paper. The Mossy Meadow layer fit perfectly with the darker of the leaves in my bouquet. Choosing the bouquet from the edge of the paper was two fold. It was my favorite, and the idea of attaching it to the edge was a way to showcase both papers to the best.
Stamps and Embossing
Since the floral bouquet was from a piece of DSP, there was no stamping involved. But you generally need a sentiment. So the Cottage Rose stamp set, which matches the Abigail Rose DSP, came in to the card. Only using the simply done sentiment was a bolder move than I usually do. By embossing the sentiment, it helped it to stand out more, and it tied it to the thin White layer of the card. The hardest part was deciding where to place the sentiment! Who would want to cover up the pretty bouquet?
The final touch was to add some bling! Adding three of the Pearls Basic Jewels was a method of bringing in a bit more White plus bling. Using three different sizes worked on this card with all of the open space on the green DSP piece.

The Wild & Sweet stamp set images are all gorgeous and somewhat large. To showcase this I cut the image into panels after stamping. It turned out better than expected.
Panda Bear
A Panda Bear is so pretty and this beautiful image is from the Wild & Sweet stamp set. Three other animal images complete the set. Large images, like this one, can be a bit difficult to use because they cover most of the card. To help with this problem I pulled out an old trick. After stamping and coloring the image, I cut the one piece of cardstock into three pieces. The starting size is Basic White cut to 4 3/4 X 3 1/2. After cutting 1 1/2 from each end, that left 1 3/4 in the center. These layers are then added to Basic Black layers cut to 1 5/8 X 3 5/8 for each end piece and 1 7/8 X 3 5/8 for the center.
Sentiment Layer
Lovely fonts for sentiments are a weakness of mine. Having two different fonts adds quite a bit to a simple two word sentiment. It may be difficult to see from the photo, but the back layer of the sentiment is actually embossed using the Fern 3D Embossing Folder. Both pieces are cut using Layering Circles Dies. For a final touch there is a single Matte Black Dot added to the sentiment.

Today’s project is a fun card with one of the New Punch Bundles. It includes the Sweetest Cherries stamp set and the Cherry Builder Punch. For me the punch bundles are the favorites.
Bundle
As mentioned above, this is a Punch Bundle. The Sweetest Cherries Bundle is Oh So Sweet! There are cherries to stamp in the stamp set, along with the stems and leaves. But they are also what is included in the Cherry Builder Punch. I opted for simply punching out the images in the appropriate colors of cardstock instead of stamping first.
And the sentiment is included in the set as well. It was made to be as large of a star on this card as the cherries are. It is a clean and simple sentiment that can still stand on it’s own.
Dies and Embossing
As a way to help the cherries Pop!, I layered them using the Stylish Shapes Dies. The bit of stitching just around the inside of each is a great little detail. And the sentiment is cut using a different die from the set. It also has the little stitching. There are multiples of circles, squares and a couple of banners in the die set.
Feeling the background layer of the card needed some definition, the Gingham Embossing Folder was used on the Cherry Cobbler layer. And as a finishing touch for the cherries, one was given the little Iridescent Pearl for a highlight.

Today’s card showcases one of the single stamp sets that immediately caught my attention when the Annual Catalog debuted. It is the Amazing Year set. My favorite stamps are ones that can “stand alone”. This set has two of those, plus some great sentiments.
Stamp Set
The Amazing Year stamp set is such a great value and is wonderful for newer stampers. It allows us to make a card using just one stamp set. This one can have two different focal stars with a variety of sentiments. And this lovely bouquet has it’s own little attached sentiment on a tag.
Paper
There are two different pieces of DSP used on this card. Both are from the Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper. The striped was a hit with me immediately. It reminds me of the old pillow ticking material. And the flower bouquet is stamped on a second piece of the DSP. By looking closely you can see the lines which appear to be from an old and faded ledger sheet. Stamping on DSP is something that we sometimes forget about. A perfect piece of paper as this is a great reminder to give it a try. It just stands up and begs to be stamped on!
Colors
Most of the colors used came from the Abigail Rose DSP. The Early Espresso is not a color that I used very often. But it is in most of the sheets of that DSP pack. So it was called to duty with the card base as well as the ink for stamping the bouquet. The color is just a bit softer than Black would have been. The colors for the flowers were the Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends. Of course that came from the striped DSP piece. And the final touch is the strip of t he Natural Finish Ribbon. It blends perfectly and grounds the bouquet layer.
Measurements
The card base of Early Espresso is cut to 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4. For the layer I chose Crumb Cake. And it is cut to 5 1/4X 4 with the Striped DSP layer cut to 5 X 3 3/4. Finally the focal layers are cut 2 7/8 X 3 3/8 and 2 3/4 X 3 1/4. A last touch is the one Petal Pink Sold Faceted Gems.

As awesome as the New Annual Catalog is, there are still great products available in the current Mini Catalog. I have combined the sets Catch You Later, Bragworthy, and Artfully Layered together for a fun card.
Stamps
These monkeys are so fun! I immediately think of hanging out with friends. So that is the direction I went. And of course the sentiment takes it the same direction. Yes, I did use three different stamp sets to create this fun card. The monkeys and sentiment are from the Catch You Later stamp set. It is full of similar fun images and sentiments. And the background I created was using the Artfully Layered set with the large leaf and smaller heart leaves.
And to share the third stamp set, the Bragworthy set, here is a view of the inside. It screams “Old Friends” to me!
I realize that this sentiment does not fit everyone. But it definitely works with me and my friends! This stamp set includes six unique and fun sentiments for different occasions.
Colors
To carry the outdoors theme I wanted a green color. But instead ended up with a blue / green by using Bermuda Bay. This is an awesome color that I use often. And to pair with the monkeys’ colors, I added the layer of Crumb Cake. For the stamped backgrounds I did tone on tone for both Bermuda Bay and Crumb Cake. The Crumb Cake images are stamped repeatedly before re-inking.
Embellishments
To give some added emphasis for the sentiment, I used the Double Oval Punch for a bit of an extra layer. And as a more masculine “bling”, I used the New Brushed Metallic Adhesive Dots. By adding one to each of the focal layers it brings them together. And I know I generally do at least three of my blings. This card just did not like adding a third one.

I have combined three great products for today’s card. The star is the Wildlife Wonder bear paired with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder and New Horizon DSP. A simple and pretty card.
Stamps
This beautiful bear is from the Wildlife Wonder stamp set, as are all of the stamps used here. The details on the bear really give the illusion of movement. And the shadow at the base adds to it. For a bit of realism, and depth, I added the single wildflower. Of course the sentiment is one of the stars. And if you know me, you know that I love a mix of fonts. This one is perfect and a great size.
Embossed
The Tasteful Textiles Embossing Folder has always been a favorite. It adds subtle texture. But if stamped on prior to embossing it gives the look of a canvas. On this card I went with the Thick Basic White, stamped and then embossed. And it is raised with Stampin’ Dimensionals to give more depth to the card.
Papers
Even though the card base is Thick Basic White and the focal layer is White, this card shows quite a bit of color. That is from the New Horizon DSP. And I promise that I did not use most of a piece of this beautiful paper to only hide it behind the front layer. I would never do that! This piece had some punches cut from it. And I actually thought ahead to position the punches further inside so it could be used as a layer. That is unusual for me to actually think ahead!! Plus I used one of the cut off pieces as the strip which backs the sentiment. It is a great extra touch of color.
Please do not forget that the Last Chance products are winding down. Additionally we have been notified that all of the Natural Tones Stampin’ Blends are back in stock. They are part of the All Together early release shown below. Because of this that special has been extended through the end of May! Woohoo!
