Shell-ebrate You

Today’s card is starring the Turtle Friends Punch Bundle and would work for any age.  At least I hope it does since I made it for a close friend, who is younger than me, but not a child.  I thought the turtly play on words was just perfect.

Stamps and Punch

I had not really played with this stamp very much and making this card has given me several ideas for it.  Sadly it is on the retiring / almost gone list.  (There are only 7 days left of the current Annual Catalog!)  For the sweet turtle, I stamped and then colored her body with Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends.  And did you notice her pink toes and lips?  The shell is stamped with Old Olive and then punched with the matching Turtle Punch.

The adorable little bird is stamped with Polished Pink and fussy cut using my wonderful Paper Snips.  Both the turtle and the bird are raised with Stampin’ Dimensionals.   I don’t care for a lot of a solid cardstock.  So to alter that part of the Polished Pink I stamped the party streamers tone on tone down the open section.  And finally the sweet Turtly sentiment was added on the White with the Turtle and Bird.

Colors

Normally my color choices begin with the DSP.  This time the black and white plaid strip from the Pattern Party Designer Series Paper was indeed the original idea.  And the Polished Pink came more from “what would go best with this strip of DSP?”.  An odd way of getting there but it worked!

There are probably not very many real life pink birds.  Maybe a flamingo?  But I took creative license and went with it for the little bird.  And to add bling for my finishing touch I went with pink again.  This time was the 2021-2023 In Color Gems.

Product Share

I am taking orders for the new Annual Catalog Product Share for New Designer Series Paper and Ribbons.  The form is on my menu under Shop/Product Share.  This is a wonderful way to get a sample of all of the new papers so you can really see their beauty in person.  Then you can decide on the ones you like the most.  And the ribbon is the same way.

A Wisteria Birthday

My project for today is a Sneak Peek of the beautiful Wisteria Wishes Bundle of products.  Plus there are some of the 2022-2024 In Colors added in.

Stampin' Up! Wisteria Wishes, Wisteria Dies, Orchid Oasis, Tahitian Tide, Banner Pick A Punch, Jackie Beers

This card is also my design entry for the Make My Monday Challenge.  Today’s challenge is Happy Birthday.  You can join our challenge by clicking on the link below.  The other design team members’ entries will be there for you to see also.

Wisteria Dies

The Wisteria Dies from the Wisteria Wishes Bundle are the star of this card.  I used two of the flower dies and two of the leaves dies.  Some examples I have seen only use one of the flower dies, but I love the definition it gives.  Actually the solid flower piece will cut the stamped image.  For added color, I used HIghland Heather as the background and a piece of DSP for the more detailed top layer.

Regarding the leaves, it is similar to the two flowers.  The solid leave will cut the stamped image and then you have the more detailed one.  I decided to use both again like front and a shadowed back layer.  You may be able to see that I also used Stampin’ Dimensionals to give more depth to the layers.

Papers

As I said, I used a variety of old and new regarding the papers.  The card base is Gorgeous Grape with the top layer being one of the new 2022-2024 In Color 6X6 papers in Tahitian Tide.  I felt that brightness would be great as a “sky” image.  For the leaves I went with my favorite green of Granny Apple Green.  although the new Parakeet Party is a shade lighter and brighter!  It may become my new favorite.

On the flowers I used Highland Heather as the background with another of the new In Colors.  This one is the Orchid Oasis in a floral pattern.  The two tone of the floral paper adds even variation.

Finishes

This card could be for any occasion.  But since my challenge was a Birthday, I had to had that in.  To do this I went with the simple Happy Birthday from the Art Gallery stamp set.  It is simply a clean version of the sentiment.  And to give it a little detail without adding layers, I used the Banner Pick A Punch and flagged each end.  Finding the proper location was difficult, but in the end it nestled perfectly between the wisteria.  And as a final touch I added a trio of the 2021-2023 Gems off to the side.  Everyone needs a touch of bling!

Double Strip Fun Fold

I am not sure my title describes the Fun Fold on today’s card.  It is a Double Flap card starring the Flowering Fields Designer Series Paper. And is paired with tulips from Flowering Rainboots set.  I made it for a card class this past weekend to show this gorgeous DSP.

Stampin' Up!, Flowering Fields, Flowering Rainboots, Art Gallery, Pearls, Jackie Beers

The card is a Gate Fold with two flaps which are attached on opposite sides.  Here is an opening view.

** As I took the photo I realized I had not adhered the inside layer to the card! Duh!!

Paper

Even though there is a stamped focal layer, I believe the DSP is the star of this card.  These wonderful tulips are from the Flowering Fields Designer Series Paper.  Surprisingly I love the mix of Highland Heather and Rich Razzleberry.  Those are not two colors that I would think of together, but they are great.  By adding the Evening Evergreen as the side pieces that really works to pull the green from the paper.  It is a Jewel Tone card base with a pastel center.

Stamps

For the focal layer I went with the pot of tulips.  This stamp, which is actually three different stamps, comes from the Flowering Rainboots stamp set.  Since it is a photopolymer set, lining up the three stamps is so easy to do.  And to add the sentiment, I pulled from the Art Gallery stamp set.  A simple Happy Birthday seemed to fit.  I was trying not to cover the stamped image so simply stamped it across the front of the flower pot.  By using the Memento Tuxedo Black Ink it is a clean look without adding any bulk to the front.

Finishes

Rounding the tops of the focal layer gives a bit of a break from all of the sharp angles on the front of the card.  With so many layers it looked a bit full.  The Detailed Trio Punch is retiring and will be missed!!!  And for the finishing touch, I added a trio of Basic Pearls just tot he right of the stamped tulips.  They show up much better in person.

Horizon Birthday

It is no secret that I have loved using the New Horizon Designer Series Paper.  Today’s card is another quick and easy card starring the paper and On The Horizon stamp set.

Stampin' Up!, On The Horizon, New Horizon, Label Me Fancy, In Good Taste, Bakers Twine, Jackie Beers

Paper

The New Horizon Designer Series paper does the majority of the work in making a card.  It is like looking out your window at beautiful scenery.  And that was the look I was going for on this card.  I needed a masculine birthday and this seemed to fit the bill.  The card base and layer were both pulled from the paper.  With this piece of DSP I could have gone in a variety of different ways color wise.

But for masculine I went with the greens of Evening Evergreen and Soft succulent.  But for a special touch, the Soft Succulent is actually Vellum.  It is from the 2021-2023 In Color Shimmer Vellum.  The shimmery look fits perfectly with the DSP.  And the last paper is the tag.  It is from In Good Taste Designer Series Paper and is a scrap of a light wood look paper.

Stamp

Even though the On The Horizon stamp set is part of a bundle, I only used the stamp set.  And I stamped mostly on the beautiful piece of DSP.  That can be a bit scary, but is such a reward once you do it.  The grasses at the bottom were stamped using Evening Evergreen Ink.  Since the birds were more in the distance and not as clear, I went with Basic Gray for them.

Punch and Finishes

The sentiment is from the On The Horizon stamp set also.  It is stamped and then punched using the Label Me Fancy Punch.  To anchor the punch I used the Crumb Cake of the Bakers Twine Essential Pack.  The twine is wrapped around twice and just secured behind the sentiment.  To help it stand up a bit away from the twine I raised the sentiment layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  And with the DSP being so beautiful I did not think the card needed any bling.  I know that is shocking!!!  LOL!!

Expressions In Ink

I have another of the Angled Book Fold cards to share today.  They are just so fun and easy to make. And this one stars the Artistically Inked Bundle and Expressions In Ink Designer Series Paper.

Stampin' Up!, Artistically Inked, Artistic Dies, Expressions In Ink, Pansy Patch, Champagne Rhinestones, Jackie Beers

Stamps and Die Bundle

I cannot help but smile when I see this mix of beautiful stamps and paper.  Thankfully the Artistically Inked stamp set and dies are carryover into the next Annual Catalog.  However, they will not be a Bundle there.  So to save the 10% go ahead and order them now!  The beautiful flower on the front of the card is from the Bundle.  It is stamped using Magenta Madness and then die cut using the matching die.

For the sentiment, which holds the card open, I went to the Pansy Patch stamp set.  And it is carrying over as well. Woohoo!!  The font used in that simple Happy Birthday is anything but simple.  I always love mixed fonts and this one is the perfect size.

Paper

You cannot miss the beauty of the Expressions In Ink Designer Series Paper.  The mix of colors and veining would be great in any high end home!  And you can see a bit of the “book fold” on the left where I used the gold and white striped paper from the same paper pack.  It coordinates beautifully and adds more of the glamour.  The Magenta Madness was chosen to pop against the green and gold.  It does it’s job very well.  So I added that as a background to the sentiment as well.

Extras

The punch I used for the sentiment is my favorite, the Double Oval Punch.  I use it together and singly all the time.  And for some extra bling, I went with the Champagne Rhinestones.  They bring out a bit of the gold without being overpowering.

Measurements:

I have made this Fun Fold a few times.  So instead of redoing the measurements, I am linking the post with the measurements.  Just click on the photo below.

Sweet Strawberry Birthday

Before I get into today’s project, I wanted to give you a last reminder of the 20% off Sale regarding the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.  This also includes the Bundles that work with the Mini machine.  Today is the last day for this.  You can see all of the sets by clicking on the flyer towards the bottom of the post.

Today’s card is a lovely birthday card using the Sweet Strawberry Bundle.  I am partial to strawberries and could not let this set get away without at least one more card to share.

Stampin' Up!, Sweet Strawberry, Pattern Party, Classic Matte Dots, Jackie Beers

Stamp Bundle

Stamps with matching punches really make for quick and easy cards.  And when you CASE the catalog it is even better.  That is exactly what I did.  This wonderful Sweet Strawberry Bundle is a must have for me.  I love quick and easy and CASEing the catalog is not at all cheating.  For this card it took stamping the three strawberries, the caps for them, and the sentiment.  A really sweet thing!

Paper

Black and White are great basics for a card.  And to use this sweet check pattern from the Pattern Party Designer Series Paper almost feels too simple.  The Pattern Party DSP is a Host Reward in the current Annual Catalog.    If you are ordering from the 20% Off Sale, or the Last Chance sale, you do not need but the $150.00 minimum for Host Rewards to get this awesome pack of paper.  There are twice as many sheets as in a regular DSP package.
