Gorgeous Daisy

I have another Daisy card today.  But it is the paper, not the stamp set this time.  Fresh As A Daisy is paired with Gorgeously Made for an unexpected look.

Stampin' Up!, Gorgeous Made, Lasting Joy, Fresh As A Daisy, Linen Thread, Jackie Beers

Papers and Colors

There are so many things I really like about this card that I cannot decide what should be the highlighted topic.  So I am going with the brightest part.  And that is the papers.  The Fresh As A Daisy Designer Series paper has multiple different daisy sheets.  This one is one of the brightest and with most colors.  I chose it for the variety of colors.

The Daffodil Delight had to be prominent but did not work as the card base.  I turned to Garden Green for that honor.  But Daffodil Delight came next.  There needed to be a White layer between the colors and the DSP though.  The DSP blended in too much and I definitely did not want that to happen.

Stamps and Dies

To compliment the DSP, I knew I wanted something that would really POP.  The Torn Notebook Edge Die from the Gorgeously Made Bundle fit the bill wonderfully.  I cut the DSP to fit as a layer on top of it.  For some texture I went back to the Gorgeously Made Dies and found the great leaf die.  It is cut from Soft Sea Foam and only adhered at the bottom and middle.  This allows the top part to appear floating free.

The sweet sentiment is one I have been needing for a long time!  I am horrible about getting birthday cards out.  I make them with plenty of time and that is the problem!  They generally lay on my desk and maybe get pushed aside so they do not leave on time.  However, I have gotten off track!!!  That sentiment is cut with the another Die from the Gorgeously Made.  And this sentiment that I love is from the Lasting Joy stamp set.  Thank you Stampin’ Up!!

Finishes

The fun bow on the sentiment is made using the Bakers Essentials Bakers Twine pack.  I love the perfect thickness of this twine.  It is so easy to work with!  And the final touch is the lovely Brushed Brass Butterfly that is also attached to the sentiment.  These are not only adorable but are a perfect fit with the daisies.  I am so happy they are still around.

Beautiful Birthday Challenge

My card today is a Fun Fold and a Birthday with the beautiful Irresistible Blooms products.  Cards are so easy with gorgeous paper to do a lot of the work for you!

Stampin' Up!, Irresistible Blooms, Hello Irresistible, Beautiful Balloons, Circle Punch, Jackie Beers

This card was created for the Make My Monday Blog Challenge.  The challenge for this two weeks is Birthdays.  Click on the link photo and see the cards from the other design team members.  And you can add your own card as well.  I hope you will join in the fun!

Fun Fold

This card is a simple Fun Fold that I cased from Patty Bennett.  From the front it appears a regular fold card.  Here is the open view.

I think you can see that the front panel tucks beneath the flower.  To open the card you pull back on the narrow right side panel, where the flower layer is attached, and that allows the front to open.

  • Card base is cut to 7 1/2 X 5 1/2 and scored at 3 1/4 and 6 1/2
  • White layers are 3 X 5 1/4 (front and inside sentiment) and 7/8 X 5 1/4
  • DSP layers are 2 7/8 X 5 1/8 and 3/4 X 5 1/8

Papers and Colors

The gorgeous Hello Irresistible Designer Series Paper is the star of this card.  I used one sheet of the DSP and cut it to continue across the card.  For the card base I pulled the Daffodil Delight for a bright frame to the DSP.  The flowers are stamped using Calypso Coral and highlighted with some Daffodil Delight in the center.

Stamps, Dies, and Punches

The floral layer was created with a variety of products.  The flower images are from the Irresistible Blooms stamp set.  They are die cut with the matching dies.  The background circle is made with the 2 3/8 Circle Punch.  And to add a Happy Birthday that circle is with the 1 3/4 Circle Punch.  That Happy Birthday, as well as the inside sentiment, are from the Beautiful Balloons stamp set.  For some bling, I added a few Tinsel Gems 4 pack with one touched up a bit with the Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blends.  And there is a surprise when the card is open!  The Birthday on the front has a little hidden Brushed Brass Butterfly that you only see when the card is open!

Zoo With A Twist

I am sharing a second version of the fun Twist card today.  This one uses the Zany Zoo and Bright & Beautiful  DSP for an exciting look to a birthday card.

Stampin' Up!, Zany Zoo, Bright & Beautiful, Azure Afternoon, Lemon Lime Twist, Double Oval Punch, Jackie Beers

And here is the open, and Twisted, view:

Stamps and Dies

The Zany Zoo Bundle is one of the fun parts of this card.  The raccoon and balloons immediately make me smile and think happy things are going to happen.  And the die set makes cutting out the raccoon with the balloons so easy.  I could not resist the sentiment that is on the front.  It may be more suited for the inside, but I wanted it to continue the happy of the raccoon on the front of the card.  The sentiment is from the stamp set as is the inside sentiment.

Papers

To go along with the Happy and Fun theme I could not find a better option that the Bright & Beautiful Designer Series paper.  This paper has fun on every sheet.  But these stripes were perfect.  They allowed me to use bright colors and stand out.  The card base is Lemon Lime Twist with Azure Afternoon as the layers.

Layout

This card was first made by me back in April.  It is a sweet and more subdued version.  You can see it HERE.

I have a pdf of this card.  Which would make the other as well, just using different papers and stamps.  Click on the photo below and you will get the pdf.

Tucked Pinwheel for Fun Fold Hop

Today I am joining the Fun Fold Blog Hop of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators.  You all know that Fun Folds are my favorite thing.  Well today I have found a new twist to an old fold.  I am calling it a Pinwheel Tucked Fold.  It stars the Irresistible Blooms products.

Stampin' Up!, Irresistible Blooms, Hello Irresistible, Beautiful Balloons, Pastel Sequins, Jackie Beers

The Fold

I love this fun look on the front of the card.  This Fun Fold I saw on Karen Titus’s page.  It is really simple and can be used as a single layer card with this Fun part as the inside once opened.  I decided to add it to a regular top fold card.  Here are open views.

The Fun Fold is cerated from a piece of 6X6 DSP.  I used the Hello Irresistible Designer Series Paper.  (Tip: it is included in the DSP Sale even though it is an Online Exclusive. )  All you need to do is score at 1 1/2″ on all four sides.  Fold and burnish the score lines.  Then cut off each of the corners leaving a square in the center with 4 flaps.  Place your paper in the orientation you want your pattern.  Beginning with the flap at the top, fold the top right corner down flush with the score line.  Turn your paper and do all four sides.  To finish, fold down each flap where the folded edge is laying on the flat of the adjacent flap.  When you get to the last flap just tuck it in like you would on a cardboard box.

Stamp Sets and Colors

The stamp sets I used are the Irresistible Blooms and the Beautiful Balloons.  I  chose to stamp on the strip of DSP at the bottom front of the card.  It did not look finished when I stamped only on the Basic White layer.  The colors are Daffodil Delight and Petal Pink.  With two soft dolors the Memento Tuxedo Black really pops.  Although I did add the two main colors with the balloon and the confetti swirls.  To finish the card I scattered a few of my new favorite  embellishments.  They are the Pastel Adhesive Backed Sequins.

Measurements

  • Petal Pink card base is 4 1/4 X 11
  • Basic White layer is 4 X 5 1/4 with same size for inside layer
  • Petal Pink square is 3 1/4 X 3 1/4
  • DSP is 6X6
  • inside of fun fold is Basic White at 2 3/4 X 2 3/4
  • DSP strips for front and inside are each 3 3/4 X 1

Thank you for stopping in today and hopping along with us.  The lineup is below for you to visit the other Fun Fold ideas of the day.

Balloon Celebration

The inspiration for today’s card is from an advertisement.  We get them from everywhere!  But I was surprised by this one and how perfectly it works with the Beautiful Balloons Bundle.

Stampin' Up!, Beautiful Balloons, Bright & Beautiful, Bakers Twine, Jackie Beers

Stamps and Dies

The Beautiful Balloons is such a fun Bundle.  The dies are wonderful and add more than just the balloons.  Although I did not use any of the extras here.  The three balloons are stamped and die cut.  For the largest one I die cut from Lost Lagoon card stock and then stamped the little stars with Lost Lagoon Ink.  But the other two balloons are stamped and then die cut.  They are Lemon Lolly and Parakeet Party.

The sentiment is also from the stamp set.  There are a couple of different sentiments to go along with the balloons.  I really like this one and that it is long.  It fit the bottom of the layer perfectly to fill in white space.

Papers

The idea of this card was to focus on the balloons.  And I only needed a small bit of DSP for the gift box.  It could have come from anywhere, but I chose this piece from the Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper.  This 6X6 pack is part of the Bright & Beautiful Suite of products which includes the Bundle, the DSP, and the Acetate Celebration paper.

The card base was chosen from the DSP as the brightest of the colors.  It is Berry Burst.  The Lost Lagoon balloon, as well as the other balloons, came from that little piece as well.  I tried a couple of the colors for the thin layer between the Berry and the White, and the Lost Lagoon one that contest.

Finishes

There must be bling!  And I only used one of the larger Rhinestones.  Shocking! I know.  But there is also extra touches with the twine.  To make the balloon strings, I used the 2022-2024 In Color Bakers Twine.  This was a carry over that thrilled me.  I love Baker’s Twine.  By adhering all of the balloons, except leaving the bottoms loose, I could lift it up and place a glue dot and the tip of the twine.  The twine was allowed to twist and do it’s own thing as I pulled it down to the gift.  There I added two glue dots.  One to secure the three strings, and another for the bow.  It was really easy to do and a great extra touch for the Balloon Celebration!

Thank you for visiting today!!!

Inked Paper

It is no secret that I love the Inked Botanicals Designer Series Paper.  I have used it several times.  Well, today is another of those times!  And I have paired it with the Inked & Tiled Bundle.

Stampin' Up!, Inked and Tiled, Inked Botanicals, Inked punch, lost lagoon, jackie beers

Inked & Tiled Bundle

This bundle is a really nice one for several reasons.  There are stamps that are both images and sentiments.  And it is paired with punches instead of dies.  Not just one punch, but two punches!  I have used the more solid one on this card.  The other is an “X” with pointed ends.  Both are great and have multiple uses.

Today I used the stamped image with the old technique of Ink To Rubber.  That is a red rubber stamp, sadly it does not work on photopolymer stamps, that you color the rubber with Stampin’ Write Markers.  I used Pretty Peacock for the stem and leaves.  And Flirty Flamingo as the flower center with Crushed Curry for the petals.  The sentiment is stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  Note:  Stampin’ Write Markers, with the exception of Basic Black, are only available as the entire collection or as Color Families.  However they are great to have on hand.

Papers

The fun DSP pieces are both from the Inked Botanicals Designer Series Paper.  I love directly stamping on to the DSP.  Naturally it doesn’t work for all DSP, but in this case I love the look it gives.  In this card I wanted a softer look and stamping on the DSP achieved that.

The card base is the new In Color Wild Wheat.  It really makes the plaid in the front DSP stand out.  And I was surprised at how well the Flirty Flamingo layer paired with it also.  None of these colors seem to really go together, yet they all do work well with each other.  Sometimes just going for it really works!

Finishes

To finish the card I knew I wanted a ribbon.  In putting the layers together I layed them all out on the Wild Wheat card base at the angles to make sure nothing was overhanging.  After adhering each layer to the Flirty Flamingo, I wrapped a piece of the Lost Lagoon Bordered Ribbon around all three layers.   The Lost Lagoon is included in the greenery DSP layer along with the Pretty Peacock.  I adhered the ribbon on the back of the Flirty Flamingo and then adhered all the bundle I had made to the card base.

The sentiment was punched using the Inked & Tiled Punch and added using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The bow was added off to the side.  For the bling I used the Pastel Adhesive Backed Sequins.  These are in two sizes.  I spread a trio of the smaller gold ones around the card.

Measurements

There is not an exact science to the layers I used.  But I did stagger the sizes a little.  The Flirty Flamingo layer is 3 7/8 X 5 1/8 with the green DSP layer 3 X 5.  And the plaid stamped layer is 2 3/4 X 4 3/4.  The differences allow for more angled placement as they get smaller.

Don’t forget the DSP sale!  The Inked Botanicals DSP is included.
